Why don't you use PCMKeyboard?? :) Thought that's a normal qwerty keyboard without XT9. I thought the whole purpose to get the HTC Touch Keypard + Keyboard is because of the XT9 predictive engine?? Maybe I missed out something here. :P Anyway, give PCMKeyboard a try. You may just like it better??!! :D

I was using it but couldn get a version working that had the numeric keys along the top. I D/L'd a black theme but it wouldn't give me those numbers and switching modes for numbers was a pain. If you know a good working theme for PCMkeyboard, I could sure use it!

So in the Fisrt pic there's an QWERTY keyboard which i like to have that in typing mode but when i enter to typing mode area like messaging that changes to different style in second picture..
is there any solution to have to first in typing mode?

I have installed the cab file for HTC dual keyboard on my touch device.
But If I select the Italian language from the option , the keyboard become un usable.
No response touching the letters.
It works fine with english language.
Where I'm wrong?

Copy this file anywhere to your PDA and double-click on it.
Maybe you need another file-explorer eg. totalCommander
or Resco Explorer. Or use a reg-editor eg PHM or Resco...
and then double-click it

For multi language support:
Install the cab. Get the latest OEM pack and language pack from Gollum
remove all the Dlls from the OEM pack, and replace the files in the windows folder with them
add all the files from the language file folder you want in the windows directory

Apply the attached reg using resco explorer or any other method. Soft reset and give it a try.

Haven't seen it. Open the MUI file in notepad. Look though the carbage that you see to look for russian words in there if so change the number of the MUI fileaccordingtorusian. As to the graphics those just need to be made yourself at the moment.

You would need to change the registry to point forinstance to a new E-Maillink (advanced Configuration Tool comes with a few of those)

You need to look for a patched mediahubmini.exe on XDA to get this bug out. It will work.

figured out the problem with the 20 key keyboard not lighting up when a key is selected. the files L20-map_down.png and P20-map_down.png included in the posted cab are corrupt that's why the keys don't light up when you select them. In order to fix this problem, you have to download the OEM version of the keyboard and replace the files I listed above with the one located in the OEM version. Copy the files to the \windows directory and overwrite the corrupt files.

1 - If I select the regular sip keyboard for stylus use on data screens that need the smaller keyboard to see what I'm entering, the Back Space key no longer functions, nor does the left and right arrows.

2 - While trouble shooting, I found that this prog also disabled all functions of AE Button Plus.

I un-installed this keyboard and now everything is back to normal.

You need a reg editor with import capability, I use Resco file explorer with regedit plug-in. Then you just open regedit, select import, find the file and click OK.

although I don't understand other languages of the once I mentioned in last post apart from english.
yes they are working eng and ita bouth use the same images but for the other languages to work you need to copy the images to the windows folder
and even without the images I can choose spanish or german and tap on the empty with keybord and it is sugesting the words for that language

I've installed Action Screen and HTC keypad on my Italian Kaiser reading the first post.
All works fine (XT9 n italian too), but i've 2 question:

1) how can i change the registry value for opening a new MMS? I've senn that works fine for SMS the Param value : -service "SMS" -to "", but if i put in APP_2 the Param value: -service "MMS" -to "" does not work, the command open messages folder... HELP!

2) i've changed the string "Dial phone number or select a task below:" with Resource Hacker in the file HTCActionScreen.exe.0409.mui, compiled, saved, renamed in HTCActionScreen.exe.0410.mui but don't see any string on the top of Action screen. If i only copy HTCActionScreen.exe.0409.mui into HTCActionScreen.exe.0410.mui without made any change i see th string in english: "Dial phone number or select a task below:"

Well .. well .. well. I have made my own rom with Touch Dual apps... here's my feelings :

- HTC Album works just fine .. I will soon put it to replace the "Video" button in the cube, just need to make the button graphics for that.
- HTC Random Access .. it's really sad to have no touchflo with that program.. because I have over 30 'M' and I have to type the name I want to have these.. but it's a nice innovation and idea !
- HTC Keyboard .. finally working ... 12 OK, 20 OK, languages OK, dictionnaries OK .. the only thing that is not working is that the new words are not added in the dictionnary ... I don't understand why because it was working with the first version I had of the HTC Keyboard... and with the same version it was no more working ... and with this working version... it's also not working .... but the dictionnary is still good .. so it's not too bad.
- HTC Action Screen ... mmh.. it's not bad but I need to map it to something (maybe right softkey?) and replace the contact with the HTC Random Access... mmh why not !

But here's the horror :

You mean the keyboard is working now for you, because mine won`t. I`ve installed all neccessary files, the 20 keypad doesn`t work in any mode, the 12´er mode is only working with numbers, what am I doing wrong ?

Hi everyone,

I have compiled a CAB installer for HTC Keyboard and Keypad. All settings work now for the 5 initial languagues which are English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. No registry edition needed nor manually copying files into device's Windows folder. Only tips is that installer will ask where you want to install the files, anyhow all files go to windows folder, I'll try to figure out how to copy there only the needed files and place the others wherever you like.

Well .. well .. well. I have made my own rom with Touch Dual apps... here's my feelings :

- HTC Album works just fine .. I will soon put it to replace the "Video" button in the cube, just need to make the button graphics for that.
- HTC Random Access .. it's really sad to have no touchflo with that program.. because I have over 30 'M' and I have to type the name I want to have these.. but it's a nice innovation and idea !
- HTC Keyboard .. finally working ... 12 OK, 20 OK, languages OK, dictionnaries OK .. the only thing that is not working is that the new words are not added in the dictionnary ... I don't understand why because it was working with the first version I had of the HTC Keyboard... and with the same version it was no more working ... and with this working version... it's also not working .... but the dictionnary is still good .. so it's not too bad.
- HTC Action Screen ... mmh.. it's not bad but I need to map it to something (maybe right softkey?) and replace the contact with the HTC Random Access... mmh why not !

But here's the horror :

Happily I have 50.72 Mo free in Storage... but waw... HTC apps are taking about 10 Mo of Program memory WITHOUT being ran .. it could be fine to reduce that. I will try to understand how the program memory works... to reduce it a lot .. but the Elf seems to be fast even with these apps .. NICE !!!


Add Smartskey to your rom so you can use the slider to overcome missing touchflo in Random Acces. Look for :Mscontacts in registry to set Random acces as default contacts app, but the exe needs to be in Windows folder. Then map Quicklist to left softkey. How you doing man?

I have compiled a CAB installer for HTC Keyboard and Keypad. All settings work now for the 5 initial languagues which are English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. No registry edition needed nor manually copying files into device's Windows folder. Only tips is that installer will ask where you want to install the files, anyhow all files go to windows folder, I'll try to figure out how to copy there only the needed files and place the others wherever you like.

I love the HTC Touch Keyboard and Keypad, especially the xt9. It really makes typing fast. BUT...

After installing them, I lose the built-in auto complete. This is really useful when sending SMS. I type the first 2 letters of my intended recepient, and a menu appears where I can easily choose the name (see pic 1).

However, with the Touch keyboard installed, this feature is gone (see pic 2). As you can see, I was not even using the Touch keyboard, but the standard one.

Someone also brought this up way back on page 4, but I didn't see any solution after 11 pages... any idea how to get it back?

When we type fast without the xt9, the text automatically selects itself and if you press 0/Space afterwards, it erases the text. Is there any way to get around this ? It makes it impossible to type fast when not using the xt9 mode...

Installed Action Screen on my t-mo wing and it works great. I have it set in ftouchflo for downup =)

I'm having the same problem as everyone else where it only brings up the last inbox you were in when you press "New MMS". I've tried changing it's Param value in the registry and nothing worked =(

I got email to work by changing

It's the touch.dll file from the Duo Touch, It seems to work only when it gets cooked into the rom. I think it might be the missing link for Scrolling in Random Acces. But maybe GULLUM has a definite anwser for that.

ow... there is a little bug that sometimes appears in HTC Album .. the last edited picture is modified with the current picture .. (maybe an error in the buffer they use) but don't worry "too much" about the picture that is display .. htc album is an application for VIEWING so if it does show a wrong picture just slide from next or previous picture and come back to the picture you want to see (or come back from where you see all the picture) and it will be ok.
The application is not the fastest in showing the thumbnails but it works SO FAST about zooming and changing picture (oh yes it is faster than the default one !) it takes about what .. 2s to change a picture and 5s to load the thumbnails ? but after that it's fast... I don't know if it is easy to have a faster app for that. Maybe it's slow on your phone because of low memory (check the memory state... I Bet that you have less than 10Mo of free program memory).

Well the workaround to open album for the moment from the cube is to Replace the Mediahubmini.exe. and change the path values in
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\App1_2
$
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\App1_3

But it's not the fastest workatound and i don't know if that is what Juvs is doing. The downside is the Mediahubmini.exe isn't easy to replace from a cab installer unless it's closed completely from Memory.

I find setting album as default viewer for jpg's is a verys slow response solution.

there is nothing about editing the .exe .. in fact the default mediahubmini.exe is hardcoded ... and you can't change anything properly .. so you need to use the patched mediahubmini.exe if you want to do these things.. and I need to change the .exe ... but I'm not at home before tonight .. so I will do this tonight.

I think I don't need help .. the work is already done, just need to change the .exe to be sure that it works well :)

Album will not play the video itself it will open Windows Mediaplayer to play the video rendering the Video part of Album a bit useless other then browsing it.

For people that wants 40 keys all the time and don't like Xt9 lol

1 – import reg on teste2.zip
then softreset and you have touch keyboard 40 keys all the time. But with this process you louse the Xt9, it doesn’t work any more.

in fact all you have to do is open a reg editor and delete or change this reg entry , then you have your 40 keys keyboard all the time ! :)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/keyboard layout /Preload/1
change e0010409 to xxxx or you can delete this reg.

One more thing , Xplode patched the HTC Album to work with all other devices not bfjosue!! I think it was more appropriate if bfjosue mention this before using Xplode dlls.!

I've managed to download that file. It's easy to extract the proper language dic from the cab file (in my case Hungarian), but I don't know how to integrate it into the HTC keyboard system. The goal would be to have selectable English and Hungarian T9 input method on board (with 40 or 20 or 12 keys keyboard - it does'nt matter for me).

But I'm just a poor user - please, help me!

By the way, in my case the HTC xT9 Keyboard is integrated into the OS, on my Artemis I use the new B&B 4.3 rom by Tom_condon.

I get this in action menu myself. If I hit new email it just goes to the messaging app but nothing more. Where do you change params in the registry?

yeah the MUI file is not set in the language of the rom ... just check this file :

HTCAlbum.exe.****.mui

the **** must be wrong ;) ... for example .. the default one is 0409 .. and mine is 040C just look in your windows folder to see other MUI you will see which one is for you ;)

i think that if you wait for the next rom (based on 2.20.707.1B WWE) you will be able to have a danish keyboard (with the new HTC Keyboard) but I'm not sure about it (the files are there I think but not enabled by default..)

yeah the MUI file is not set in the language of the rom ... just check this file :

HTCAlbum.exe.****.mui

the **** must be wrong ;) ... for example .. the default one is 0409 .. and mine is 040C just look in your windows folder to see other MUI you will see which one is for you ;)

Ok I will try to be as accurate as I can :

- for launching New Task from Agenda on SD :

Not as useless as EndKey. It gives you screen with some handy stuff to do.
This is supposed to pop up when you slide the DUo Touch Keypad open so it might be that you don't need the settings files.

then softreset and you have touch keyboard 40 keys all the time. But with this process you louse the Xt9, it doesn’t work any more.

I've installed Action Screen and HTC keypad on my Italian Kaiser reading the first post.
All works fine (XT9 n italian too), but i've 2 question:

1) how can i change the registry value for opening a new MMS? I've senn that works fine for SMS the Param value : -service "SMS" -to "", but if i put in APP_2 the Param value: -service "MMS" -to "" does not work, the command open messages folder... HELP!

2) i've changed the string "Dial phone number or select a task below:" with Resource Hacker in the file HTCActionScreen.exe.0409.mui, compiled, saved, renamed in HTCActionScreen.exe.0410.mui but don't see any string on the top of Action screen. If i only copy HTCActionScreen.exe.0409.mui into HTCActionScreen.exe.0410.mui without made any change i see th string in english: "Dial phone number or select a task below:"

Nope Same here but it's not that easy to fix.
I believe the Exe's and DLL's need to be signed differently or something.

I downloaded the HTC Keyboard CAB and installed it. I have been able to get it working fine from Word but not from the pocket outlook (for emails). From there I get a keyboard that is more standard, no T9 etc... I would like to be able to enter the to email address from HTC Keyboard 12 and it seems not possible?

Also, I have the issue reported earlier where the auto completion of the email address of contact name seems to disappear when using the keyboard as explained above...

Anyone has seen the same?

I have a strange problem with the icons in Action Screen. I made for example a TomTom icon and i think i only have to change these 3 icons. Converted them back to BRN-files and put them in \Windows Reboot and guess what. the whole screen is black. I can read the text but the rest is black. Any idea's???

In other words, the text should coincide with the text in system!!! Otherwise the menu WILL not work!

I've had the same problem! After scrolling awhile, it freezes on a picture and keeps on coming back to that same picture no matter how you scroll! Furthermore, i can hardly zoom as the panning feature seems to always be activated on a touch of the screen! Is there a "re-worked" version of this app? I hope there is as this could really be a cool application!

I think in case of ROMs with common 'SMS \ MMS' account this parameter is not valid. Quite interestingly new SMS works well with ' -service "SMS" -to "" ' parameter.

Every other Action of my menu works well, including new E-mail (after putting my e-mail account's name into the registry), but MMS - no way... :-(

have you gotten around it? i still cant make it to display my pics and videos in the storage card. it only shows pictures in the dcim folder

Has this issue been resolved? I've tried the suggested registry hack but it still shows contents of the DCIM folder only :(

I have random access installed on my kaiser touchflo does work (it might be a little less responsive but it does work) my problem is that its fine in portait mode but when I goto into landscape mode its not there. did I do something wrong? does anybody else have the same problem?

The HTC Album, HTC Action Screen and HTC Touch + Keypad work on Charmer WM6 TouchFlo 2.1 ROM without problem other than being a bit slow especially the album loading up the picture.

Now it will take a bit of practice to get zooming but
Zoom = Not to quick and full clockwise circle.

Here's a version (CAB) that installs two links in Programs\Multimedia. (http://rapidshare.com/files/65896991/HTC__Album_SPCeed.cab)
One for Landscape one for Portrait. Also the default close action is to close app from Memory. It installs dll's, Exe and Help file to storage card. And the Skin Files, link to help file and Graphics go to Windows Folder. This saves 50% of total installation to ROM.

yeah i also used renaming the folder in sd to _my pictures but nothing is working..... i cant even make it to portrait mode and i have installed it again and agian but to no avail...
