An important tip for Chinese readers:

for Ce-star: once you installed Ce-star, don't forget to "delete" the "installed wince.nls" in the Windows folder (though a notification will pop up and says the file can't be deleted). By doing this, you will get a super stable rom!!

for Studio KUMA: after installing Studio KUMA, delete "usemynls.exe" in the startup folder, and delete the wince.nls in the temp folder.

for PDAMobiz_ChiJap_Enabled.cab, which is what i strongly recomand--just install it and then install "ChinaFEP_No5en.cab" for both simplified and troditional imputs! this mix is fastest and trouble free!

a simple review for mysterious:

Stable: with the nls supporting Chinese regions, Mysterious is defenitely one of the most stable roms i've ever tried--as stable as EVO8
Fast: this is the first time i can run TCPMP and Kevtris(a famous game) simultaneously without lagging (no overclock app applied)=, but to be honest, opening webpages seems a bit slower than the new arrivals on XDA.
Available memory: storage is as good as any other new arrivals, programs is next to Crystal v3 and TNT5 official.

All and all, mysterious is GREAT!! SUPERB!!

Agree with u on the part "Slower than Crystal V3" cos i was on v3 before changing to this ROM. I've read somewhere that 18521 is more efficient. wonder where you guys find the release notes for each build?

- Easy to understand why it's slower, bc it has DialPad and Comm skin, like a Touch ROM can't be as fast as a Cross ROM.

yeah is this new build faster than 508?
imho you should release this rom in 2 versions with and without cube, cause for example I don't use 3d cube
or just add it as a cab

Some builds have little bugs with BT. When you use 2 bt devices for instance BUILD 18508.0.7.0 messes up!

after intensly testing, torturing my device with Mysterious for two whole days, I can tell that both Mysterious and EVO8 are the most stable roms that i've ever tried.

I shifted to M1.0 from TR1.1 last night just for test drive, on comparision i prefer TR1.1
M1.0 seems good, cant say about any bug so early but some minor hitches( once speaker goes out of order- no ring - sound, SR solves)will surely be fixed over time.

After 40h of use, I can say that this is the best ROM that I've ever tried.

It's incredibly fast with a good battery & RAM usage (4-5% overnight, free RAM stable at 20MB after long usage). Wifi & Bluetooth work flawlessly.
I haven't found any bug's so far (same as Transformer 1.1).

you are right, one of the reason that touch roms might be slower is because of the Skinned DialPad. I haven't tested Mysterious 1 myself. ( studying and all ;) ) but I'm sure it's another awesome rom.
About the speed, Well since I'm not gonna release another rom for now, here is what i think that make a rom faster. If i'm wrong then let me know :)

1-Most of Crystal V3 OEMDrivers are Modules instead of dll files. although I haven't flash Mysterious.1 but I've looked inside it. most of the drivers are modules except few. I think the difference is that in Crystal v3 :
touch.dll, radio.dll ,Camera drivers are all modules where as Mysterious.1 they are dll files. I didn't spend much time but there might be other files too.
using modules instead of dll files are better because they load themselves on a predefined VM address in memory whereas dll files will load themselves in a first randomly chosen available memory. by using the dll files we will loss the VM space.

2- all the png files ( all of them ) has been modified with photoshop and pngout. their size is relatively smaller than the one we used to use in wm6 therefore the time it takes to load them in memory is significantly shorter. also they occupy less program and storage memory.

3- For some reason that i still don't understand, because I used the Hermes virtual memory mapping the ROM became faster, i don't know if the same technique has been used in mysterious 1. all I can see is that it has the same .VM as in Crystal v3 :) ( don't know if everything else got rebased accordingly)

4- Crystal V3 doesn't have the touch style comm manager or dial pad as Cloudyfa mentioned. for example in crystal V3 to load the comm manager only one dll file has to be loaded into memory whereas the touch style comm manager 34 files has to be loaded.

5- I don't know if Cloudyfa used the module XIP, but I used Module XIP to cook the crystal V3.I beleive that also contributed to it's performance too.

Anyway, I think Mysterious.1 is a great rom. just by looking at it I can see that there has been lot of work put into this rom. Well if I'm wrong please let me know. I wish you the best luck Cloudyfa :)

That wrong message doesn't mean only certificate problem but also when laking some needed files to make it working. Maybe you should check your soft again or ask someone as i see that thay can use TomTom without any problems.

Crystal V3 Touch.dll is from touch rom. (has the Touchflo functionality) Thanks to Gullum :) also radio.dll can be used as module too :)

You can reduce the Home plug in images ( i just tested home plugin in mysterious.1) by 400 Kb if you use the pngout to minimize their size.

GREAT ROM, for me it's faster than both Crystal versions (2&3), looks great, the only issue I have is with the bluetooth headset ... I answer the phone call, but the sound comes on after 3-4 seconds ... I have RADIO 2.47.21.

Well, I upgraded my device, from the 4.0.0.5, and I'm runnig with no major problems. One thing for me is missing, and it's what stands a PDA from the rest of the "mobile-gadgets" and normal phones, the Transcriber!!! How come this is missing from the rom?!!? Bad move...

Yeah, I know but I feel this way the device becomes sluggish when trading between input methods. Maybe if Transcribe was integrated on the rom from the beginning this wouldn't happened.

Hi There,

Is there any way to remove the HTC Home plugins from the ROM ?
I can disable it from today menu, but it will be nice if i can remove it from the ROM.

I just disable the HTC home plugins and the available RAM is 26 MB, so from my opinion HTC Home Plugins takes 6 MB from the RAM to get function.

But did you install other apps? There are more not-so-nice-built programs around that let your device behave different from what you expect.
IF you have, deinstall them and test if that cures your pain. Then reinstall them one by one, o you can indentify the villain!

Jotajota, a guy from todopdas.es posted a whole collection of numbers for HTC HOME. You'll just have to copy from its folder and paste in windows to overwrite the old ones. Make sure you deactivate HTC HOME from today before doing it.

I'm one of other your ROM fans, I tough your ROM just like MS Windows with all version, but this Mysterious ROM is the most stable and the coolest.

I had only one dopod 818pro G3 for my dialy work, that so I need the most stable ROM. I had flash my prophet many-many time and finaly I got this one from U *again*

This ROM is fantastic! If it were not for the major battery drain (I get about 24 hours) - it would be absolutely PERFECT! Maybe I should unload the Camera 4.11 cab . . . I heard that may be the culprit.

Which Audiomanager do you recemmend? Because I had one that supposedly didn't slow the Prophet down, but it didn't detect my high amounts of Ring Tone files, whereas the one in 0.5b works perfectly.

Hi THere,

It just happened to My Dopod 818Pro, i save around 1200 sms in this ROM and i got some problem with screen freeze isue. After i sent message the screen freeze in lock mode, i cannot turn on the unlock mode. The screen is freezing.
After 3 times reset using the pin hole, the ROM is working again.

I wonder any problem solving to keep a lot of SMS inside it.

It is not necessary to perform the hard reset by the buttons combination, once the extended rom app installation is done you will enter in wm6 and perform a clear storage. It will appear again the "Tap on the screen..." message and go on

No need to be so mad. First:

Disable your firewall if you can. Thats what I find to be the secret trick.

Then, connect as guest.
Do step 1, with the correct one.
Don't touch it after its done.
Run update.bat.
Don't touch it until it says its done.
Hard reset right there, don't touch screen.

Tell me what now.

This is a fast, responsive, clean ROM. I however decided to stick with Transformer 1.1 - Cross style

One thing I did notice however, and I dont think it was mentioned...but when in the comm manager...if you have say the phone antenna activated...then deactivate it...it will throw on Airplane Mode (which is what it supposed to do of course :)) However...if you hit the Airplane Mode button again (ie turn it off)...it will not only turn back on the Phone Antenna, but also the BT and WiFi antennas as well.

But other than that, its uber great man...and as I said in the Transformer thread, if you made a pure cross style of this ROM, (ie no fancy background dial pad etc etc...although I love the glass like splash screen lol), you would have a ROM that is on pure crack cocaine for speed :D

Sincerely speak, I feel like Mystrious 1.0 is less stable than your previous Beta ROM for test.

I have encountered sudden freezes so many times.
It was really freezed without any clue; with and without any running program in the memory, any random times, ... SR only to recover.

I will try turning back to the Beta ROM again to see the difference about this stability.

I have tried both in the same configuration; fresh flashing + Thai keyboard + Transmeta + A2DP fix + Adobe LE.

While it's still in early stage, FTouchFLO from efrost is really efficient (less errors, more functions), and I presume there's no need for the "original" touch one anymore... What do you think ?

I think this ROM has no SPL / IPL , Radio ROm and Boot Logo ROM. If you need it you can try to search at another thread for it.

BTW, i tried all three mysterious today themes you kindly provided and found all of them spoiling my greediness.... is it possible for you to make one more theme with a darker lower part for Mysterious for better displaying effect^^" thank you in advance!

Just rename the .ttf fileextension on the fonts in the weatherpanel theme folder. Soft-reset and it will look normal again.

seems like it's about time to dream of flashing PDAViet Touch Dual for prophet! (as stunning as the totally classical official-look PDAViet 4.0.0.0.6)

everything seems to be in it's place--HTC Album, keyboard, etc,. And more, PDAViet has released PDAViet 15G for Elf...

P.S. another version of webview.dll solves the pie scrolling sluggish problem^^ hopefully it can be included once the PDAViet Touch Dual's dream comes true!

What you want is The Cube! TouchFlo refers to the finger page scrolling. ;)

Yes, it is possible, but installing the Cube afterwards makes your device a bit slow... But if you want your Prophet to look like Touch, you better choose another ROM. There are many around that emulates the Touch and even better. For instance, try Gullums Touch IX, it is brand new and a read good reports about it.

Thank you. Mysterious is my first attempted of rom cooking. I'm satisfied. I'd love to try and feel the touch. The hardware spec for HTC Touch looks similar with Prohphet. I'll try Gulum's Touch IX.

Mysterious 1.0 is the best WM6 rom i've ever seen. For me this has been a good one for my prophet besides a few glitches.......

1- device hangs up sometimes, in my case it happened perhaps 3 or 4 times, when after attending calls of about 30-45 minutes duration. The phone pad won't end. It keeps showing phone pad. I had to soft reset my phone.

2- The 2nd thing i came across for the first time with my prophet was a safe mode. When the PHONE hung up on my device, i did a soft reset & after starting up the device runs in safe mode. Even after restarting or doing a soft reset a few times the device remains to start in safe mode.

3- 3rd one is the most annoying, it's time synchronization. When i connect my device to my PC via usb, it's changes my time back to GMT, while i've GMT +4 settings both on my device and PC.

Sorry to say, this rom is stable because it does not include touch thing. If touch is included into some next version of rom, i'm sure it won't be stable like this.

I have the same problem when flash it back at the 2nd time.
Try to re-flash back by using the same step.
I've solved this problem by re-flashing my prophet. Now the battery consumption already back to normal (3-4% overnight).

Has somebody achieved to do an internet calling through Voip with this rom?
I have made the whole setup with voipbuster but i guess i am not doing it right becuse the network is available and in the dialer it is voip instead of the operator name, but when i made the calling, it says phone not available or error with number.
I have tried all number format 00 + etc... but nothing.

On the HTC Homeplugin i dont get the notification that i have got new emails but when i get in email i can see that it has downloaded new emails, just the notification for new emails on the HTC Home screen misses. Anyone got a solution for this? or have anynone the same problem ?

Yes I give you a clue: read! There are at least a thousand questions asked about this "problem"!!

But you can also go for the solution straightaway (only if you promiss to do your homework next time...)
You didnt made a hard reset after flashing WM6, this problem is typical! If you think you did, then you didn't follow the right procedre and made a soft reset instead. I wonder if any of you came across this problem :
Touch screen gets often misaligned, sometime it happens once for a few days, sometime it's even few times a day (I think it depends of my using PDA)
What is strange, that only in 50% of this cases few apps are misalinged, e.g. contacts, notes (this is where I test this)..
And the screen is always shifted to the left, i.e. in notes a line appears few pixels to the left from the pressing point..
soft reset doesn't help - have to realign again :/

First time changing rom of my prophet (qtek s200 branded). I've mysterious by now but first I've tried the transformer release. Personaly I like transformer skin very much, but mysterious is a recent release. There is any way to use transformer skin (the black one) on mysterious release? If I copy windows\HTC_Default.tsk from transformer to this one will change anything?

Read the forum, the WIKI.... do that before you flash so you know what you are doing, and how you are supposed to do it! No offence, but it is really anoying to write for the 2348th time that you have to Hard Reset after the final flash. If you think you did so, then you are wrong. You have to enable Incoming Beams. You can do that from the Commanager or Setting=>Connections=>Beam

And please use a smaller font, this one just fills up space and is difficult to read.

Really thanks for this great ROM. I was using an HTC Touch ROM before, it had a power drain and really made me trouble. But this ROM like my previous PDAViet ROM has a very nice battery consumption plus more features and great graphics.
Furthermore, this is my only ROM that after restoring my PIMs using PIM Backup and soft resetting, kept my messages intact. It seems like an official ROM. I really like it.

Well this looks very nice but with 6MB PPF not possible to run 2 or 3 new today plugins, at 6 MB it hangs when restart, 8 MB also same problem, 10MB is good but when using 10 MB PPF, only 18MB working Memory left which is insuficiant for running programs like GPS Tuner??? Can you please advise any software which will not let run Today Plugins which were active when restarted (I will start them Manually), so that i will be able to use 6MB or 8MB PPF to save working memory and no hangups on startup (Sorry for bad English)

The only problem that I've is taht I don't know how to configure MMS. I can't view the MMS account in the email and I can't create a new one.
And I can't found anything about MMS in any menu.

Hi,

newbie on flashing, so just to see if I have understood the wiki:

1. Get the last active sync running on windows XP
2. HardSPL with Prophet Tools light
3. Flash nk.nbf from file Prophet_PV_Temp.zip with Prophet tools light
4. Hard reset
5. Extract Mysterious_1.0.zip and run Upgrade_ROM.bat
6. Hard reset
7. Finish!

It´s all? My phone is a Qtek S200, buyed in Spain. My spanish is too bad, so I want a new ROM in english, stable, WM6, beautiful, and principally FAST. I´ve been looking through the discussions arround this forum and this ROM shall be exactly what I need. I´m correct? Any suggestions?
