Not yet.. Just ordered a standard 1350 mah battery tonight but could not find any extended battery or back covers. :( GPS is a battery killer, therefore a car charger and 2nd battery is a MUST.. Stay Tuned..

I'm getting a TyTn II next week and was wondering how long the battery lasted when using the GPS? I use Memory Map for mountain biking and walking and currently use an external GPS on my old XDA IIi. The GPS lasts about 16hrs and the XDA about good 5hrs.

The max you'll get is about 4-5 hours.

4-5 hours?!? I have heard people getting at least 12-24 hours with medium usage. Maybe if you have 3G on and connected all the time (say push email), you browse the web a lot, and you are on the phone constantly, you might get 4-5 hours. I don't know what the GPS life is, but it should be better than the battery life with 3G, as 3G is an active radio, so requires a lot more power.

12-24 hours!!! Wow that would be good. I don't plan on walking or biking for that long. I suppose I will just have to test it when it finally arrives.

Yes. What I meant was only GPS usage. About 45-60min of GPS usage, the battery dropped from 100% to about 75%. This was when I was on a 3G network. If I stayed on a GSM network, the same amount of GPS usage drops the battery to about 80%.
3G does sap quite a bit of battery life so stay on a GSM network if you seldom use 3G/HSDPA.

Purchased a 2700mAh battery £15 already looks to be promising as have done far more than i had previously and lost less juice "first day of use" :)

Yep your percentage dropped less, but you'll see that your device will most likely turn off by itself around 50% :)

Well, read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401571
There should be other threads around about this, it's a known problem.

Tried removing and putting in again?
Did you turn off between the time the battery was fully charged and the time it was empty?

I turned off between full charge and dead as flashing etc.
The battery lasted nearly 4 days with just little charges while flashing, transfering files etc, will let the phone totally run down and remove battery and replace to check, to be honest i can't believe that all extended batterys arn't registered by the phone correctly or that the Kaiser\Tilt does not have the capability of an extended battery, if this was a problem with all extended batterys then legal issues would have been involved with battery sellers by now as the sale of extended batterys would be liable for the fact that the item sold is not of use as the prefix says "extended battery" what i can believe is that some of the early batterys or even current could have had manufacturing defects....
I will hit you back with my findings and if i'm wrong i'm wrong and will be returning the extended battery.

I will wager one testicle that you will return the battery. The battery is indeed an extended since it will outlast the OEM battery by at least a few hours before shutting down.

So why is there not more about this apparant condition? 1 thread if you point me to more about this then maybe i would actually just fall into the "oh yeah an extended battery isn't extended really thought"

I posted one earlier.
But yeah if you flash and all you won't see it, as when you flash everything is erased and the meter like all the rest will take a fresh start.
If you intend to flash every day it will be OK for you :D
But for common long-time use it's of no use. Especially when you have one of those batteries that stick out and turn your phone into a brick, all this for you to still have to remove it at middle charge to reset the meter. Better just get a 2nd standard battery, keep it in the bag and swap when it's empty, keeping a normally sized phone.

I understand what you are saying but if you type in extended battery in the seach options in this sub forum, you will see many happy customers with Extended Batterys, so i have to persume untill my battery dies that there is more to this than meets the eye, as my previous post sudjested, first off it could be brand, ROM, defect etc, etc. As soon as my battery dies i will hit you back with what my findings are.

The problem is with the phone and its firmware and not with the extended battery. The phone shut off because the phone can not understand the extra capacity of the battery. The battery does not shut off your phone.

I still can't understand how there are threads of happy people on this forum with extended batterys as i stated.....

I am one of those that is very happy with the extended battery because the duration from turn on to auto shut off by the phone is at least 3 hours longer than the OEM battery for my usage. I don't have to think about charging the battery or swapping the battery until I get home at night from work. And there is still the option of remove and reinstall the battery if I don't want to charge it right away. I rarely if never need to do the latter.

"Will soon be dead on battery so will see as have been blattin battery life away"
So even if it is the way you state, to which i'm not doubting "i'm scepticle" then it will work in my favour as when i run down just pop back off and click battery out and in, back on and i'm back on role.
Sorry to gabble on bit as i say if there was more about this i would have just agreed from post one lol.

Full discharge removed battery and replaced and gained 10% so not that much of a difference no where near 50%
So effectively i have 2435mAh battery & 10% reserve so still far better than a 1350mAh.
Keeping me testicle :D
