Touchscreen with keyboard open

Has anyone ever seen an issue before where the phone's touchscreen doesn't respond when the keyboard is in the open position? Besides a hardware error, I do not know what could have caused this. The only application I could remotely see affecting this functionality is ilock2 and slide2unlock2, but the problem occurs even after closing ilock2. Any thoughts would be helpful.

As much as I hate to say it, try hard-resetting and see if it helps.

Hold comm manager button and voice button and press the reset button with the stylus on the side of the device.

sorry for solving my own problem but after checking around a bit more I sem to be experiencing a similar hardware issue as another post. This is odd. If I push the area of the 8125 around the left softkey the issue goes away. It looks like a soldering issue. Is there a way to delete this thread?
