Hi, my other HTC finaly stopped working.
It fell and now it won't start. It does nothing really.
The only thing it does is when I try to charge with the wall charger, a red light pops up and stays that way.
I've opened it up, and everything looked fine.

Any thoughts?

That happened to my Wizard/8125, it would not charge for ANY reason, so i gave the positive and negative battery terminals power from an old nokia charger(just about everyone has about 3 of them) that i stripped the wires from after removing the plug. Once my phone had power, it turned on. Turned out my battery died. Ebay had my new one sent to me in a jiffy, and now all is well!

What happens when you try and charge though the USB cable? Eliminate the charger as a possible problem.. I've had a charger inexplicably go bad in the past.

Charging through the USB Cable is a no no too.
It just heats up the battery, litteraly.
I'll try the nokia charger thing...

I just realized I didn't give a clear method of how to power your device using a Nokia charger, it includes making a wire set that inserts into the tiny power tip of the nokia charger. Here, let me illustrate once I host some images.

Thanks for the pics! That really helped.
For how long do I have to have it connected in order to load the battery?

Edit:
Ok, I've tested this by keeping it plugged only for 10secs. and plugging it on and off with no success... The dreaded red led still there. I think I need a new board...
Thanks for the help, guys!

No problem, I left the charger charging the battery of my phone for about a minute(making sure the regular usb phone charger was also plugged in). After about a minute, I kept repeatedly kept pressing the power button until the phone turned on. I nearly jumped for joy! Or you could just need a new board... :(

I have a board that has a broken usb port, other than that it works fine off a charged battery. I'm buying one of these as soon as I find lcds to cost under $40

This should be made a sticky! Its a nice hack to charge a battery without any other wizard around to charge it!!!

Recomend changing the thread title to: "How to: charge your battery without having a spare Wizard!

I agree with dferreira!
A sticky for this tutorial!

I got access to another battery, tested it again, and after some time pressing the on button...it came alive!!!!

Thank you for the tutorial, my problem is fixed!
Thanks for everyone that helped me with this, specially 95scort!
