Upgrade SPL

I need to upgrade the SPL on my SPV C550 now that I have unlocked it (trying to install WM6)

Do I have to buy a mini SD card reader or can I use tools to do this from my PC.

If so which tools please and briefly how.

Although a search would solve your problem here is a mini how to:

- you need to have ParchedRUU (this includes these files: EnterBootLoader.exe, Patched_RUU.exe, ROMUpdateUtility.exe, RUUGetInfo.exe and finaly your_bootloader_name.nbf) all in the same directory. The files are availabe on the net just google it.

- establish an activesync connection with USB, to do so have the phone in standby mode (no bootloader mode)

- when connected in activesync (green icon on taskbar) run the Patched_RUU.exe

- make sure you tick the boxes and the next button and that phone battery is greater than 50%

- in the final screen hit the update button, if the .nbf is in the same directory as the Patched_RUU it will load it automatically

- wait for 3 minutes, during this time you phone will enter bootloader mode, and a red bar will show the progress on the phone and the computer

you are all done :D

anw here it goes:

- go to active sync -> settngs -> disable USB connections

- switch off your phone, and while holding the camera button connect it to the USB, on the screen it will appear "Need UI upgrade? (0)" or something like that.. bottom line is press 0

- then phone enters bootloader mode. if on the lower bar i think it is the green bar it says hurricane and on the right UI then it is all good, if it says something like XIP or something then you have to switch it off and do the proccess from the begining with the camera button REMEMBER TO PRESS THE 0

- fire up the mtty.exe, remember put mtty.exe AND the bin in the C:\ directory. The only thing you need to change in the startup screen of mtty is the connection port change from com1 or something to usb and press ok

- press enter so the Cmd> shows on the blank terminal

- write without quotes "l c:\name_of_your_rom.bin" and hit enter. l is a small L short for load

- hopefully it will do the update, wait for ~10 mins and it will say that it is all done... depending on your rom you may have to change language and so...

Sorry to carry on a bit but I get this when I do what you suggested.

Cmd>l C:\wm6.bin
clean up the image temp buffer at 0x8C080000 Length 0x01C40000
MTTYDownloadImageNot allow operation!
Error : DownloadImage return error (code = 0xFFFFFFFF)

Ive Googled this and im sure ive unlocked my phone - but is that the same as unlocking the super CID?

Just follow my guide in the signature, but use huricane ROM instead, you need to get into the bootloader and enable AS USB mode, then run the RUU

i hv made a mistake while upgrading my spv c550(HTC Hurricane) to wm6.
i have flashed the wrong spl SPL 1.01.0109 on my fone. that spl was of htc typhoon.
now my phone is not booting up.
when i press the power button the fone gives the white disply and nothing else happens.
i cannot even get into bootloader.
the charging function works when the fone is turned off.
when i turn on the fone it dos nothing not even chaging.
is there any way to get my old fone back...

help plz
