My question is if I get a an imate k-jam that has a bad motherboard would it be possible to switch the motherboard of my 8125 with the k-jams? and would it work fully? i'm not a pc tech or anything but I am able to dissassemble and repair laptops and pc's. if this were possible would I be capable of doing it? 'cos the keyboard on the 8125 is driving me crasy (button's jamming, unresponsive) and my friends k-jam's keyboard seem's like a hundred times better, so thats the main reason id want to. that and to change the case at the same time

I suppose the only way to know for sure would be to take them both apart and see if there are any differences in the main boards. Theoretically, they are the same. Realistically, they may be different shapes or laid out differently. I have taken my MDA apart before and the main board is unbelievably complex.

Sorry I can't be of much help, but I think that would be the only option is to just "look and see"

PS:: This should have been placed under the Wizard forum, not Wizard Mobile 6 as it is not related to the developement of WM6 or or any previous WM6 Roms created to date. Try to keep your posts in the correct forums.

Dan.

Yes, you can switch motherboards. I just switched a T-Mobile MDA motherboard into a Cingular 8125 and vice versa (swapping parts to try to figure out why touchscreen didn't work on the 8125).

That is actually really good to know. I have an old 8125 in the closet with a broken touch screen but I have been using my MDA with a broken USB port so all I would have to do is take my 8125 main board and swap it for my MDA main board and all will be fixed... Hmmm... I'm gonna have to try this.
