When you plug the ipaq to the power mains, does the led light up? Probably in red?

Ok try to put back the back cover, battery and if you have your cradle, plug your cradle to the powers mains then connect to the PC. Im fairly certain that it should show up as an unrecongised device. If so, then it should be in bootloader mode then try to run the rom upgrade again

Did you try running the HP rom updates again? If it is unable to detect the model of the IPAQ then you will need to get a rom image and restore via an SD card. You should beable to find urls for rom images from MobilityToday's forums.

Oh, no... Even worst.
You need the bootloader to response the com port and your mtty, once it gone the only way to bring it back are (1) by JTAG port. (2) reprogram the flash memory.
Your 6515 is good for parts by now, I got a 6515 with broken LCD/case is good for you. ;-)
