You have to download Flash in order for it to work.

You can also use vtap.com - has a rich client download that make searching and watching sweet.

add one more happy vtap user to the list. i just decided to try it because of this thread and its pretty cool for what it does. and we have access to all of youtube as opposed to the iPhone users. sure, they may have the better interface, but i'll take the larger library :)

Vtap is great!! The only problem I have is, on the site, it shows a view of the desired video like the youtube site would show but when inside the application, it only has a decriptions without a picture. Is this how it is for the Tilt version?

Me neither. I verified file associations within TCPMP. Notably, there's no 'Video Sites' shortcut in Programs.

Because in ATT ROM, real player is the default player for the PIE and it doesn't support youtube. since i flashed my tilt with HTC stock ROM, the default player is "streaming video" app which plays youtube video with no problem. i think there should be a way to change the default player in registery.

Just go to youtube.com on your cell, it will open "mobile youtube."
on the bottom of the page, click "classic view"
once there it should work with tcmd...

I installed the cab from this thread on my tilt and it worked. I can now stream videos from the m.youtube.com site.
Here is the thread

ditto for me.. maybe it has a limited database that is manually updated.. *shrugs*
installed flash and youtube videos work "OK"

You're all forgetting to add that it also picks up videos from other sites, like MetaCafe, Google and Yahoo! Video and many others. Plus Wikipedia on the vTap just murks (that's "murder" for the ones not in the know) every other application or dictionary that tries to give us a mobile version of it on WM phones.
But the good thing is that the FlashVideoBundle works well also, just in case you prefered not to use a separate application...

I enjoy using ytpocket.com for youtube vids.
hmm..i got mda vario III with shipped rom and for some reasons the TCPMP and flashvideobundle does not work for me. i am getting conected to the clip then tcpmp starts up but eventually fails with unknown file format.
does anyone with mda vario III got it to work with TCPMP ?
vtap works like a charm but the quality of video and audi is poor, especially the audio. it is really quiet. did not try to use it with earphones. maybe gonna help.
Please Advice

Just something for the guys complaining about audio/video quality in vTap: there are higher settings for both, and when both are set at high quality, i see no visual artifact, except for those in the original video and the audio is really good too.
Also consider that you don't have to search in a webpage, and wait for the results, they come with every letter you type in vTap.
Another thumbs up for vTap !

i wonder how it works with coreplayer, since it should be almost the same as tcpmp. not sure how it'll handle the codecs.
this is what the bloke said in his FAQ:
1.20 Will this work with CorePlayer?
No. If CorePlayer adds support to stream flash video content in the future, I can look into it.
