HTC Herald backlight off [Archive]

hello!
is it possible to really turn OFF my herald's backlight?
this "lowlight" is very nice, but i would like to turn it really off (e.g. battery saving).

Not sure what you mean, do you mean turn the backlight off and still retain full functionality, or do you mean just turn it off quickly so you can put it away in your pocket or something? If it is the latter just tap the power key and the keys lock and the screen turns off instantly.

no, not screen off, backlight off:)
so when i can see the screen, but there is no any lights on it.

on htc wizard, there was a "turn off backlight after.." checkbox, which really turned off the backlight, however, i could tap on everything, because i saw the patterns on the screen (at sunlight).

hmm i have seen other posts refering this on an MDA. But i dont think it's capable on a stock Herald.
