I never got this one till I installed Prophet touch VIII.
I'm guessing it's one of the today plugins/startup folder files that tries to read or write in some corrupted file.
Last time I got it I only got 2 today plugins: HTC home and battery status.
I found a way to reboot without hard reset so I'm going to explore the culprit :)
I've read in another forum spb pocket plus activates safe mode which loads windows without today plugins or services. It boots on boot screen freeze...
Next step, unplug the plugins 1 by one until it boots...
So for now I'll just wait for the next boot screen freeze :)
I'll keep you posted

Here (http://jotajota.4shared.com/account/file.jsp?id=24028178&sId=s0IdZH0x15zw913I) you have the right application for your needs. SAFEMODE ver.2.1
THis will let you solve freezing problems. I advance you that most problems come from HTC HOME and visual changes made with 3rd party programs...and a classic: installing default keyboards with 3rd party software like SKTools

I hadn't made any install before the boot freeze. I had several programs installed but I soft reseted after every install to try to catch the incompatibility... still... freeze...

if the frozen screen has got todo with an application you installed in your sd card you can try to reboot without that sd
if it is not helping you will have to hard reset tour device.Next time install safemode ;)
cheers

tried the no sd solution.. to no avail... I'm tracking the problem down with a safe mode. so far I got no freeze so no conclusions...

I used to have this boot freeze issue with my PDAViet 4.0.0.0.6. The problem comes almost like every 2 weeks, sometimes if I'm lucky.. 3 weeks. In my ROM, it always stuck and I had suspected it to be the HTC X-Button. So, I just disabled it and now I'm using PBar 1.4. I think the problem disappeared for good now after I use PBar.
You are welcome to try :)

Hi Folks,
this is the first time I can read from someone else having the same issue as i do...!!!
I tried several rom's and latetly a thought its my neo! I have one some application installed but when i reflect the thread - yes! it must be one of the today plugins!
I have one 3 activated (!!!) plugins
a) HTC
b) Birthdayz
c) Calender
I had suxxess in geting my device up again when I removed the battery until the neo lost time&date. I assume it has to be the Birtdayz and/or Calender plugin. I would understand Birtdayz - but Calender would be odd!
I'll deinstall birthdayz and have a look at it!
