i was using the first cook room...but i decided to jump being that i have the tilt. i must say...this sht is fast as all hell...didnt think it could be any faster than before. one thing though....the app that scans business cards. Is it possiable to have that in a cab? thats the one thing i miss from the old rom. other than, this one feels like a winner.

Can i install this on my unbranded Kaiser ?
Well, i know i CAN, but should i ?
I noticed the OS is newer than helmi's kaiser 0.7.0, so i would like this one, if there are no problems...

i got a bug. while in messaging (email or text) i cannot see the pictures of the people who send the message. i can see just a little bit of it, but most of it is showing off the screen. almost as if i was using an app made for vga on a non vga device. anyone else notice this?
edit:
okay so when this happens....slide the keyboard out...then close it...and the message returns to its normal format with the pic fully viewable. any thoughts?

Helmi,
Any chance of you making a Dynamic + BigStorage ROM out of this?
I could install all the AT&T cabs I need, but then I also don't want PTT or HTC Task Manager... Plus, from your HTC ROMs with the same build and kernel, the Dynamic ones seem to be the most stable and quickest to me.
Thanks in advance and for what you've done up to now anyway. Really apreciate the work you put into this. Donation will soon follow (and that's not a bribe).

whoa....i just pushed the mail button on the front the phone reset itself...hmmmm
didn't experience this, tried to re-create by:
-hitting the mail soft key after boot from initial flash
-power-down/power-up then press mail key once today screen loads
-hard reset
-after today screen loads from reboot hit mail key
-power down/power up and then hit mail key
everytime the messaging applet open......
maybe i'm doing something wrong.
rom runs great and possibly even fixed a past issue....
i have an at&t tilt that i purchased from an at&t coporate store on the day of the US release.
i hard-spl'd the day hard-spl was released to shed that god awfull thinguhmabob at&t had on this phone that was more like TnT on Tilt.
proceeded to flash the htc ship rom and somewhere inbetween a pixel died right above the "m" in smart mobility.
the pavarotti pixel was evident on every subsequent boot as well as opening any non-white variant background page/app.
since flashing this rom that that dead pixel is johnny alive.
i know this rom fixed the dead pixel because after flashing every kaiser rom/cooked-rom on xda the dead pixel remained, um, well dead.
the the at&t rom to me felt more like a caveman trying to use a stick, on a rock, to draw a buffalo with some headless stick people dancing around doing the caveman robot.
i have experienced no issues yet but as with most self-reports, this is subjective.
Edit (oct-19-2007 1:34p cst):
after some 12 hours of use, the phone (or screen input), has become unresponsive similar to the at&t rom. unresponsive meaning; i am on the today screen and click start-settings. the transition to the settings menu is quick but once i arrive to the settings menu the screen freezes (or rather any stylus inputs are delayed by 2-3 seconds if even received). to me it seems like the device is polling something like the sd card or ptt (only roms i've experienced this on have been with ptt) but my gut could be off as i'm late for lunch and my gut is hungry.
having said this, this rom, for me, is somewhat un-usable. i have hard re-setted 3x now in attempt to correct said lag but lag wins. in between the 1st and 2nd hr's i loaded up pocket + 4.0, resco explorer 6.16, resco registry, resco ftp. did a hard reset once the device started to lag with said software installed. currently i have no apps installed and still experience extremem lag on just cooked-stock-default settings/apps. going back to htc ship.

I'm anxious to install this on my Tilt -
A couple of questions -
1) Which dialpad is it using? The same as on the original AT&T ROM, or the Eten dialer that has been packaged with the other Kaiser ROMs?
2) Any guess if TomTom 6.032 will work with this one (assuming I already had it working on my Tilt with a Kaiser ROM)?
3) Safe to assume that, since this a Tilt package, there's no need to install the keyboard remapping hack (or manually configure data connections)?
Also - I haven't seen any chatter about this in a (short) while - Do you notice any improvement on this ROM (or any other for that matter) with the tinny/distant sound of bluetooth headsets?
Thanks so much for your hard work on this!!!!!!!!!!

is this rom running significantly faster than the htc 070 rom? i mean is it worth it to jump ship again, and install everything again? or people just want this rom for the storage

i very highly doubt a signifgant change in speed because there is no signifigant change in the rom....it's probably a user opinion kind of thing....only way to prove is benchmark...but most likely nothing worth spending 1 hr of software setup blah blah

Ditto here. There must be some sort of signature that Avast is seeing as a virus. For me it happened during the download. Being a RAR (and not even fully downloaded at the time) I fail to see how it could have had a virus. I'd say it's clean.

Installed this ROM at work on an XP machine.
Got home and it will not connect to WMDC.
Removed all previous connections on the PC as well as the phone.
Even hard reset with no luck. Also tried different USB cables and ports.
The phone is set to 'USB under the active sync.
Vista sees the USB connection and installed the remote network adapter driver but the WMDC never even tries to make a connection.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Very happy with the ROM otherwise.
3 Hours later:
Please disregard.
Problem due to stupidity has been solved.
Rebooted computer and sync setup was normal.
There is nothing to see here.
Move along.

Does this cooked AT&T ROM help in anyway with TomTom 6? I have TT6 6.030 loaded and activated but cannot use the internal GPS. I've downloaded and tried to install the 6.032 HTC TT6 version but it won't install once it detects the AT&T ROM. So does this cooked version look differently to the TT6 installer so that I can finally get this darn TT6 working with the GPS built in?
Thanks!

I tried this ROM but actually preferred the Kaiser bigstorage ROM instead for my Tilt...
Although the AT&T ROM had about an extra 10MB of free space, a few programs from the Kaiser bigstorage that I installed ('cause I use 'em) afterwards cut into that (e.g., Adober reader, WorldCard, voice recorder, audio manager)
But that's not the reason I switched... I just don't like the default dialpad that AT&T uses - I much prefer the larger button ETEN dialer that's in the other ROMs.
Having said that.... I had no problems whatsoever - installed cleanly, worked beautifully -
The beauty of all of the different custom ROMs that people are so generously creating and uploading is that we can all pick the one that works best for us - so thank you to the whole community for your range of contributions!!!!!!

I don't know if it's related to this ROM, but I seem to be having trouble receiving MMS messages after flashing this yesterday.

I have successfully received a MMS message since posting.

So far so good. Thanks for cooking this AT&T based ROM. One thing that I noticed, but not sure if it is related to this ROM, or just the device itself: The screen and the keyboard "appear" less sensitive than past devices.
Other than that, I am loving this device and this ROM.

I almost loaded this. The HardSPL util worked good under Vista 64-bit BTW, only I never got a "gray" icon as stated in the instructions. But it still worked quite well.
Why did I stop? During the install of the cooked ROM, the updater stated I had version 1.57.502.2 on the phone and was putting 1.57.00.01 on it. Am I missing something, or is the cooked ROM not the latest? I'm hoping the updater is a little off, as you stated in your message it's based on 1.57.502.2.
Thanks.

helmi_c,
I know you are busy and you do a lot of work for all of us "users", but was wondering if you could rebuild this ROM with the newer version of the AT&T ROM (1.57.502.2)?
Thanks for all your effort and let us know.

I bit the bullet and installed this ROM anyway. I'm amazed at how much faster it is.
Only thing I've found missing so far was the option in the settings to disable the sliding keyboard sounds. There seems to be a lot of settings missing from what I remember. I did find in the registry two keys for "slidingsound" and just renamed them to "slidingsound-", which basically fixed that issue.
I'm also seeming to have sync issues with push e-mail on attachments to an exchange like server. That may be non-related, but thought it worth mentioning.
I hope we can get the .502 version soon. :) Thanks!

I'm seeing more missing/short items. Outlook really seems to be missing a lot of functions, like printing to bluetooth, and options on message retrieval size and number. I'm unfortuantely going to have to go back to the normal AT&T rom. bummer! Overcooked I guess? :) Or the .502 version really might be that different? Dunno, but I'm stuck, so back I go.

Yes I did search for Java in the Kaiser forums.
This rom is nice, but the AT&T Cabs file doesn't include Java to put back on the device.
I found Kaiser files here that mentioned 2 different midlet managers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332438
Which one of these is the one AT&T uses?

Would it not be a good idea to leave the Enable/Disable hidden proxy function in the rom? I can't see how I could enable and disable said proxy without the cab's that were in the original AT&T rom. They don't appear to be in the AT&T cab files at the beginning of this thread.

I put this rom onto my HTC branded unit but am still having trouble with the function keys not being mapped properly. The keyboard fix posted only seems to be for ATT branded phones using the HTC roms. I am in the reverse position. Anyone else have this problem or the solution?

I'm just wondering, and please excuse my ignorance on the matter. Does the ROM have ATT UI? I prefer the dark dialpad that comes in the HTC ROM over ATT's bubble looking buttons. I went through the tread looking for a screen shot and I couldn't find any.
I read that a few of you are having issues with delayed/unresponsive screen taps. I had this issue also, and found it very annoying, I've since swapped out my Tilt twice and now on my third with no issues whats so ever. I've also updated the previous two Tilts with HTC ROMs and the problem persisted so I figured it was more a hardware issue that software. Just wanted to share that just in case some of you are still within your exchange/return policy.

after flashing my Tilt with this rom, my mms messages will not come thru correctly. i can receive them but when i open them, all i see is a part of a broken camera icon. and if i hit the play button the timer starts going but nothing happens.
this problem is with video and picture messages.
also if i forward the mms to my email, i can view the photo.
is this a problem with the ROM or maybe some other issue
