Sorry for the noob question, but what is "SDA aplication unlock?" Why would I need to run this on the HTC S620? What does the HTCUnlockinstaller actually do?
Never mind. I figured it out.

Thanks!!! My Dash is now complete, that hideous green is gone ;) FYI -- for anyone that runs into a write-error when copying from your PC to the device Windows directory: I found that when I copied the files somewhere else on the device, and then copied them to the Windows directory it worked -- couldn't copy from my PC to the Windows directory without a write-error.

Thanks. Can you undo what the unlocker tool does? I don't want my smartphone to be completely wide open for any EXE that isn't digitally signed to have the ability to execute, or change settings it shouldn't have the ability to.

What is interesting is I copied CommManager.exe, CommManagerRes.dll and CommManager.exe.0409.mui to my storage card under a new folder called Temp. The app ran without problems. Now, when I go into the Start menu, and select CommManager, the one I copied over is what starts. I end the task with Celetask, and I am still able to open the hacked version.
Keep in mind that I did *not* do anything but copy the contents of "HTC S-620 bleu.zip" to a new folder on my HTC S620. I did not run or install SDA Unlock, nor HTCUnlockInstaller.
Wierd. Oh well.

You can do everything without having to run the unlocking tool. Just change these two files below. Take any pics or colors you want and rename them.
HTC_BrandingBrickImg_320x27.bmp
HTC_CallProgressBkg_320x186.bmp
I did it to match my home screen I made.

Did you run SDA applicationunlock and HTCunlocker without error ?
This error means you did not run the HTCunlocker well.!

Thanks - this worked perfectly. I also like the fact that now I know what files I need to replace for different home screen profiles right now ... I'm currently using a black profile and it was easy to switch out the call screen background for a black one.

This is the second time jhow99 you have really helped me. The only thing I did not like about the new HTC wm6 ROM was the green comm manager screen, thanks to you I now have the blue comm manager screen on my Dashes. All of your tools here in this thread works like a charm, again thanks a million......!:D

Do not try to run the software while you are connected to your PC via USB active sync. To copy the 4 files to the windows folder use Total Commander, as you know the HTC unlocker.cab must be ran first.

X2. I am able to change the registry keys successfully. However, when trying to copy the files over, I get the following error: "Cannot copy...Access is denied. Make sure your mobile device has sufficient memory, that the file is not set as read-only, and that you have permission to copy this file type." I have 32MB free, unchecked the read-only property of the folder and applied it to files and subfolders, and still cannot figure this one out. I am able to copy them to the \Windows\Temporary Internet Files folder just fine. It's just copying from that folder or from the desktop to the \Windows folder is where I get the error.

Yes, I have tried both ways with restarting phone, and without.
The steps I've done are
1. Run SDA Unlock tool
2. Reboot phone
3. Run HTC unlock tool on phone
4. Try to copy files, the commanager files dont even have the copy or move options highlighted. I tried creating a windows folder on my computer, putting the files into it, and copying the windows folder to my root directory of the phone, because the windows folder isn't even shown. It says I do not have permission.

ok first off, make sure you DO NOT open com manager before attempting to copy the files over. also if you dont see the windows folder on your device, you will have to go up to tools>folder options>view>show hidden files and folders: check, ok.
So i guess the procedure would go like this:
1 reboot device
2 open "my computer" open "mobile device" click "My Windows Mobile-Based Device", "windows" should be there, if not refer to above.
3 drop files into windows folder.
Voila! enjoy your new comm manager.
one quirk i found with this comm manager is that when you disable wifi, it magically turns itself back on. anyone else experience this with the new HTC 1.33 rom?

well, that fixed my problem with seeing the windows folder itself. so, i ran SDA unlock, rebooted, ran htc unlock, tried to copy files and it still says i do not have permission, can i just smash it with a hammer instead? that seems like i'd have better luck hah.

We have 12 phones running with this rom and commanger without any problem.
I think it has nothing to do with the commanager.
I have myself two phones and have this ones with the Rogers rom.
On the other hand, this was the phone who lost wifi in the past !
maybe this has something to do with it !

you have to do it on the phone via total commander (or similar proggie). tc will overwrite the files. that i know of, no way to do it via computer. just copy files to temp local on phone and copy to proper location using tc.
