View Full Version : Disabling push email because it run down battery?

I heard somewhere that the Mogul have Push Email running by default, even if the user is not using it and it run down the battery because the unit kept on waking up by itself. I've also heard that there is registry hack to disable that.
Can anyone let me know this registry hack?

Push email can only be enabled if you set up an exchange server for your email. There seems to be an awful lot of misconception about what Push is and how it works...
Yes, if you set up your exchange server (either corporate email or with a host like mail2web), it will assume you want all the goodies that come with it, including PUSH unless you disable it. However, out of the box there is no exchange server to connect with, so this will not happen.
Yes, PUSH does eat quite a bit of battery if connected thru EVDO. I turn mine off for portions of the day. That's NOT what causes the screen to wake up, tho.
