Help about Tmobile MDA Vario Rom upgrade

hi all..i have a T Mobile MDA vario (HTC Wizard) with the following specifications;
1.Rom Version 1.8.10.2 WWE
2.Rom Date 12/10/05
3.Radio Version 01.09.10
4.ExtRom Version 1.8.10.104

My device is G3 and WM5 installed on it.
I want to upgrade my device to the latest available ROM and want to install WM5 or WM6a or Vista on it.I searched on the forum and found too many articles and m really confused how to start and wat to choose.I never upgrade my device before and m newbie in it.
Plz if anyone can suggest me the exact links and the tutorials posted on this forum.Also how could i know if my device is CID Unlocked?

first,plz always post full data of your phone,although you have posted the Device info,but you have not posted the actual data IPL/SPL...? of your phone,which determines the DOC chip of your phone,so post the IPL/SPL...?

As you say that you are using wm5,it must be T-Mobile official Rom,which come pre-installed on the phone,therefore your phone is SIM/CID locked.
In order to upgrade to a newer and latest wm6 Rom,it's necessary to first SIM/CID unlock your phone.
Since you say that you have a G3 device,then to read and understand how to unlock a G3 with IPL/SPL 1.xx(AKU 1) device,check the below link:-

hi...my IPL is 1.08 and SPL is 2.26..my Phone is CID locked..but SIm is unblocked as i can use any sim card with this mobile...i downloaded the CID unlock utility and now want to perform CID unlock process.But wat to do after that? from where i can download the excat and updated Rom for my device.And can i use any Rom on my device? like O2 Rom or other Rom available in this forum?? Plz advice...

First of all you'll have to CID unlock your phone to upgrade to any latest wm6 roms.Read and fully understand the guide and procedure of CID unlocking in the thread which I already gave you in the above post already,you'll find there all the instructions and lokiwiz02b unlocking tool download and all the Roms (Button's Rom 1.05 and T-mobile 2.26) download links,which are required to cid unlock your device.Only after Cid unlock you'll be able to upgrade to any wm6 Rom.
But if you like to have the wm5 rom,which already installed on your device then there's no need to unlock and upgrade to another wm5 rom,as you already got one.but if you want to upgrade to wm6 rom than I'm afraid you'll have to cid unlock the device and upgrade.Once again I'm posting the link for the guide to unlocking:-

Well! as i see your phone has an IPL 1.08 and SPL 2.26,and it's required to downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx,therefore as you already have IPL 1.08,I think you shudn't have to flash Button's Rom 1.05 to downgrade to IPL 1.xx, you can download lokiwiz02b and try to cid unlock,it may be successful, but as it shows SPL 2.26,it may not be successful as both IPL/SPL 1.xx are required,but if it doesn't cid unlock with IPL/SPL 2.26 at first attempt,than you'll have to Flash Button's Rom 1.05 to downgrade to both IPL'SPL 1.xx
