Applications start up slow

Had a Vario III for 2 weeks now - fantastic device (upgraded from Universal, completely free!). Seem to have a problem with some applications starting really really slowly.

First noticed with TomTom 6, installed to main, maps on 2gb SD (SanDisk Ultra II), shows the splash screen for 5 minutes - then TomTom starts and it's fine. Thought it may be it was something to do with GPS turning on, but Google Maps and GPS Photo works fine.

Now noticed that the same thing happens with Word and HTC Voice Recorder - they both take about 5mins to start up - I just see the title screen.

Anyone got the same kind of problem or know what causes it?

I haven't this issue at all. You may want to back up your device using Sprite or SPB Backup and then hard reset.

After the hard reset, you can restore all of your files to see if that makes it any better.

Also, kudos to you for having the patience to wait 5 minutes for an app to start... I have the patience to wait...around 10 seconds. :cool:

Sometimes, they do start straight away, usually after a soft reset, but then when they are run again they take ages.

Though I might have to do a HR - just got it all setup how I like it! Maybe it's some other app caused the problem - I did install quite a bit on it.

I'll reset and see how it goes.

Hard reset, reinstalled, all works fine now. TomTom startup <10 secs.
