All,
Not sure what happened, but all of a sudden when I get an incoming call there is no volume on the ringer. If I switch to vibrate it will vibrate when a call comes in. I went to Settings-Notifications and confirmed there is a ring tone selected and I can play a test of it. Is there some other hidden setting I am missing? FWIW I am also running Goodlink 4.9 although it hasn't in the past caused any problems. Thanks.

I have also got this problem. Seems very weird. I originally thought it was because the dir of the ringtone file had changed - which it had. But i re-assigned the ringtone to a default tone and still it does not work.

Must be a registry thing - but where to look?

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Yep I also have this problem. Did you guys figure it out in the end?

I've had the phone replaced but it ended up doing the same thing.

I upgraded my Blue Angel device from Windows 2003 to Windows Mobile 5 and then I had no Volume on my device. My phone still works but I have to have headset paired up or directly connected to be able to use it since the speaker function is non-existent.

Please note this is for all applications not only the phone, so I have no reminders or anything that used to use the built in speaker.

Any ideas???

Recently I also just lost my Connection Settings..?

I can't figure that out since I haven't done anything to it recently to lose these settings, no I can’t connect to the Internet or even create a new connetion.

I have tried hard resting as well as soft resting to a point when everything worked, however this still doesn't fix the Connection Settings or the Volume. I think the Volume is directly related to the upgrade, so I might upgrade the ROM again to see if that fixes it.
Any other ideas.....?

When you tap the volume icon on the taskbar, do you see both sliders set to high?

Hi

I have exactly the same problem since several weeks. The TyTN II has been 3 times sent to the repair centre and the problem still exists! The device is completely useless if it's not playing the ringtones.

Hi all

It's very likely that's because you all have installed an external MP3 player (like Pocket Music). When you did so, the app registered .mp3 extensions as a PocketMusic extension.
When you receive a call, WM6 tries to open PocketMusic (or so) to play the ringtone, but can't because of compatibility reasons.

To have your ringtones back, you either uninstall your MP3 player, or unregister .mp3 extensions (to do that in PocketMusic, go in Menu -> Options -> file types and unselect .mp3).

Guitch

I had this problem and worked out how to fix it.

Look at the following Reg Key (change midifile to mp3file for mp3 issues)

Delete any EventSoundHandlers already in place and add this Key.

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\midifile\Shellex\EventSoundHandl ers\{245F94CF-DD9C-46F9-B4C8-D2B14A877893}]
@="XME EventSound Player"

Problem fixed.
