I am experiencing battery drain ever since I installed this latest ROM. On all my previous ROMs I could use TOM TOM for about 4 hours continuously before the battery would die. Now, however I only get about 2 hours.

Even during normal use (MP3, radio, surfing etc) the drain is quite substantial.

One thing I have noticed is often if I do a soft reset the battery life left increases again by about 25%!!

I don't want to go back to an older ROM as this one is very stable and I like its features.

Any ideas?

maybe yor battery is daing (cells or electronic board).
How old is your battery? Normal live of li-ion battery is about 2-3 years an/or about 200-500 cicles of discharging / charging.
You have to check signal of GSM (spend a lot of energy if is poor), Please check the temperature of battery an outside !!!!!!!!
If you win 25% after soft reset you have problem with chip on e board of battery.

You can change (decrase) sleep time of PDA (less then 36h from 96h) you should win about 4-10%.

Battery is less than a year old.

GSM signal is generally pretty good.

Not sure if that is the problem. It was fine before the ROM change and when I was using the older version of S2U2.

Hi to all, I went back to confirm my impressions of this ROM .... No bug on my side, that happiness. I no longer had a crash of WM6, while programs have started quickly. Many earned place in the memory, which probably explains my findings before.

you must to chose a picture that is Windows mobile green starup now, then you must to rename that picture: welcomehead96.png. then you use resco explorer or totallcomander copy the picture (welcomehead96.png) to windows. Reset, ok!

The latest version of 4.3 is in the first post of this thread. (At least the WWE - English. Other languages came a bit later but they can be downloaded from this thread too.)

There is a 4.3 PRO WWE version, created by Tom a few day later than 4.3 was published, but you cannot reach it from this site. It was published in Pdaviet.net. Link:

Not much, just a few newly extracted HTC apps are added: Big Start Menu, Action Screen, magnified top bar icons. Otherwise it's the same as 4.3.

But I like it, as it is! Fast, almost bug-free, not too much memory-leak.

Hi ! And first of all thanks a lot for this very nice work.

I just can't find a way to make VOIP work... When I try to activate it in Com Manager, it seems to start but doesn't turn on finally.
Isn't the VOIP include in the ROM, as it is in WM6 ? Cause I don't want to use any other software for that... :cool:
Searching in the thread I found that a cab should have been (be ?) release in order to make the VOIP work. However I can't find it !

i have tom's rom v 4.1 on my phone, and after some reg tweaks and fixes it runs like a total charm :) i don't know if tom included some fixes for the "storagecard2, storagecard3" problems, but beside those i think the rom is great. Only problem is the input of the regular keyboard where it'll auto change the word "wel" to "we'll" so thats quite annoying. other than that it's great. I did however reinstall phonepad app to one with dutch t9. PM me for a mail of that one.

For the SDHC, I already did that and works fine, but I wished that the ROM would integrate it directly at flashing time. Does that exist on this rOm, since AJE 1.9 it has it. But I prefer this one in fact.
The second question is I have noticed that the Comm Manager does have at the end a Telephone IP. I tried several time to active it but not succeded. Any way to know how to do or a tutorial that can guid me through?

En effet c'est bien plus agreable d'utiliser sa langue. On y va.
Il aurait été souhaitable d'avoir le Voip integré dans la ROM tel qu'il est le cas avec la ROM de AJE ver.1.9. C'est bizzare comme même qu'il y est une ligne dans la page Comm Manager de la ROM Tom 4.3 dédié à cette mais ne fonctione pas.
Bon, j'ai trouvé les fichiers en question et je les ai installé mais ça n'a rien donné, au bien je ne sais pas faire.
J'avais l'ahabitude d'utiliser jsphone mais depuis que j'ai UPGRADE vers WM6 je n'arrive pas a le faire marcher. Il bloque sans raison apparante.
Voila mon histoire.
Je profite, pour te demander un rensiegnment si tu peux aider. J'ai un colleque qu'il vient d'acheter chez Orange le P3300 mais avec abonnement. Je lui MAJ WM5 vers le 6, mais on n'arrive pas a faire marcher le GPS la sim de SFR.

i am a newbee with flashing my xda orbit but today afternoon i flashed this version. it looks very nice but i got a problem. when i am connected via AS i do have the WLAN connection but after few seconds the status on turns into off. when i am not connected via data cable to my laptop my preferences are gone for WLAN means i am not able to connect to my router. is this a known bug and is there a fixed version available?

J'ai installé la B&B4.3 FRE. Magnifique à tous points de vue, et rapide. Un seul point me résiste : comment mettre fin à la suggestion, voire même la subsitution de mots en anglais lors de la saisie de SMS.
Par exemple, je saisis le mot passe et le mot passed lui est subsitué !
J'ai modifié Paramètres/Saisie/Saisie automatique et décoché l'option 'Suggérer ... mais rien n'y fait !

First i'd like to congratulate you (tom_codon) for you excelent work. I've been working with your B&B 4.3 version for some time now and it works great. Still, i have a few questions if you, or anyone else, would be so kind to answer them:

- my home screen has all its icons in black and i see some of your printscreens that, for example, the 'home', 'weather', etc, icons are in colcour. Is it configurable?

- the GSM network and memory status indication disapeared from the home screen?!

- what do the page pool size "thing" do? Is it for overclocking?

- what is the 'beam' used for?

- my boot screen says v4.2?!

salut à tous, cela fait maintenant plusieurs mois que j'utilise cette ROM (BB 4.3) avec mon P3300 et elle est vraiment excellente. Plus de bug sous Windows Mobile et tout fonctionne à merveilles.

Une question quand même pour Tom : J'ai voulu essayer Opera Mobile sur SFR Wap et ça na fonctionne pas ? Tu as une idée du pourquoi ? Sur IE pocket, le wap fonctionne très bien et sur Opera mobile, j ai un message d'erreur : "the remote server refuses to perform the request. adress is not available".

just upgraded from v4 to v4.3 and I am receiving an error message that was not there before, it says pimg.exe is not a valid Pocket PC application.

I bought this second hand and have not installed anything on it, but before v4.3 i never got this message.

I had the same problem.

Copy/paste the zip from your PC to your PPC(storage card).
Extract it with Resco file explorer (archive-->extract to) in a folder of your storage.

After that set Resco not to hide hidden files(remove the check) Menu/Options/General/Browser tab.
Now you will be able to see all the files and not just one.

Now mark all the files and move to-->windows folder.(overwrite).

Strange.. I have the B&B 4.3 FRE too, and my T9 dictionary is in French...
WHen i type an SMS or MMS, the T9 suggest me french words ....

The B&B 4.3 dont include the VOIP Plugin, the commanager is a standard soft, some Icons(functions) are present but it not point to a real application..

The VOIP Plugin can be installed as an external appplication... I did it, and work "correctly" (the sound back is out on speakers, not on headers)

Je pense que oui car tout cause français dans les menus. De plus Paramètres -> Informations de l'appareil renvoie la version suivante : Black&Blue v4.3 FRE.
Pourtant quand je tape 'merci' dans un SMS, j'ai le mot 'merciful' qui vient automatiquement se subsituer. J'ai d'ailleurs décochées les options de corections automatiques dans Paramètres -> Saisie mais, la subsitution continue.
Y a t'il 'autres options ?

Hello there

My friend runs the Touch ROM, and I was going to change it as I have a problem on my Ordbit with the text messaging in B&B. I prefer the look of B&B but I am going to have to change if I cannot fix this problem:

Everytime I write a text message I have to wait for the delivery confirmation to popup before I press x - otherwise my text doesnt send and messaging doesn't open at all.

On the Touch ROM you can send a message then close Messaging and it will send fine then the confirmation will pop up

Is this a common problem on the B&B - as I have reinstalled the ROM twice on my orbit and still get the same problem

Additionally.... is there a hack to turn off the SMS delivery confirmation.... it really annoys me

Hopefully I will get a quick reply before I use the Touch ROM hehe - I like my B&B!!

exact, pareil, je viens de me rendre compte de ça aussi. sinon, rom parfaite et de loin, rapide, fiable, peu de fuite mémoire, bref que du bon.:D

si votre M650 est déSIM locké, il y a un configurateur pour chaque opérateur... (dans programme/outils système). si non : le M650 rejettera la SIM SFR !!!

C'est une limitation au dessus de la ROM...

I am using this ROM for a while and I am very happy with it, but I have the followin guestion :
Is there is any way to have the Patch for recognising the large MicroSD capacity integrated in directly in the ROM, the same way as that of AJE_FR.
The problem is I needed to Hardrest my device twice some time ago and each time I had to reinstall this Patch in order to restore my Backup.

English : Igo8 demand a lot of memory and unfortunately, there are enough on our beloved P300!
Look at the use of memory before / after the launch of Igo8, you understand!

Some time ago when I installed this ROM the Camera with GPS function started by waiting satellites acquisitions, then worked fine. I did not useed it for a while and now when I want to take photos with GPS function, the screen appears as if GPS is logged but no signals at all and the photos have no coordinates.
Any idea as how to remedy to this problem without being obliged to Hard-rest.

Hi everybody.
For using a french dictionary with this rom, go to (in french, sorry)

parametres, personnel, saisie, mode de saisie (TOUCH KEYBOARD), language (french)
validate
Go to SMS and open a new one
choose TOUCH KEYBOARD
write a new SMS
Choices are in french ! :D

En français, ca donne : allez dans paramètres, puis la suite, choisir français,
ouvrez un nouveau SMS et choisissez le mode de saisie TOUCH KEYBOARD, les propositions sont en françois bien d'chez nous.

i've installed this Rom (ITA) and I think that is fantastic...

only one thing, I've noticed that by default the SMS' are not threaded. I've tried to fix the problem downloading Bigix Mode SMS but even after have setted SMS as threaded nothing have changed... any idea?

Hi everybody , i have a problem with this ROM ! My mobile is SPV M650 , after up this ROM , my mobile not detected GPS receive . I have downloaded file fix GPS for M650 and install this program but it's still not work ( not detect GPS receive ) .With origine ROM of this mobile , it's still work :( Can anyone help me for this problem,plz ??? Thanks advance ! :)

Hi there ! same problem here with M650. Installed the fix twice, restart = no GPS ! Whate is the real trick to make it works ?

my suggestion is that you try another rom this one is outdated outnumbered outgunned

bonsoir j'ai 2 problèmes

1) j'ai télécharger différentes rom pour mon M650, mais lorsque je veut les lancer j'ai une error 270 (sous Xp) puis image corrupted.

je me suis donc mis à la recherche d'autres rom et mon choix c'est porté sur le beau travail de tom_codon. pour la Version 4.3 B&b.:cool:
2) je suis désolé, mais tout les liens que j'ai trouvé pour télécharger la ROM B&b4.3 en français, aucun ne fonctionne...

I got a problem with the rom black&blue 4.3 ita...
After I installed, it works fine, but when restart the p3300 it remain blocked on the startup screen and the led flashing once on three sec.
Why?

i have downloaded the rom. The rom load and them freezes at 73% and state that a reboot needs to be done by removig the battery for three seconds. I have try this rom several times and it still fail at 73%. Any ideas.

Hi, I use the black and blue 4.3 ita for about 1 month.
Now when I switch the keyboard to write sms if I select touch keypad the firmware take me the touch keyboard.
The touch keypad is missing !

Is there a solution for this problem ?
