Here's a weird one... I have a rogers TyTN (it did this on WM 5 as well as 6)
The Y, U, and I keys all have weird results. The arrow keys do the same as the Y, U and I keys.
The Y key does a < key and then the Y and the U and I keys do a down arrow then U or I depending.
How can I get the keyboard layout right again? This is driving me nuts! Ican't text or email right now because it's constantly doing these weird things.
Thanks for any help!

You can try the cabs that setup the keyboard but if this doesnt work it might be a hardware problem, here are the links!

8525 keyboard cab: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=53516&d=1191857943
Edit: im assuming you know how to install a cab but ill go ahead and say how to. Put file onto your hermes and then on the phone go to file explorer and click on the cab you put on your phone.

Thanks for the advice. In the advanced config it was set to chinese. I switched it to english, but got the same results.
I've also tried both mappings provided as cab files and no joy :<
Must be the phone... considering it did this with the rogers firmware on it that's the only thing that makes sense... back to rogers!

maybe you have the htc touch keypad + keyboard installed. I had the same problem, deinstalled the touch keypad / keyboard and it worked fine.
Just the thing is, I'd really like to use both, touch keypad and correctly functioning slideout keyboard...
