Touch base apps

I don't know if this would be possible, but would it be possible to replace one of the 2 base apps (mail and text messages) with for instance tasks and also showing the number of active tasks. I know that this information is in the registry, but I don't know if you cvan replace the applications.

Nothing to do with touch, it's HTC Home

Yes, you are right, it has nothing to do with touch but with HTC home. The question still stays! I would love to have a solution if it is possible.
