Hello All,

I have yet another update for you. It contains the most recent patches and corrections for build 5.2.1921. This update is to replace the previous ROM versions "2.12.00" and "2.12.02".

Please find below the ROM details and download links, please read all information before installing any ROMs (including the enclosed “Readme” file)

How-To Verify a digitally signed file against a known serial number
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1

Download the file you wish for your device.
(i.e. "JASJAR_WWE_20108_20301_11300_wwe_ship.zip")

Step 2

Unzip the download.
(double-click the ".zip" file and then click on "Extract all files")

Step 3

Open the directory that you un-zipped the download to.
(i.e. folder "JASJAR_WWE_20108_20301_11300_wwe_ship")

Step 4

Locate the InstallSheild setup program in the ROM folder, then right-click it and choose "Properties".
(i.e. "JASJAR_WWE_20108_20301_11300_wwe_ship.exe")

Step 5

Once the file properties is open select the "Digital Signatures" tab, then in the "Signature List" double-click the "HTCCertificates signing authority" signature.

Step 6

Once the "Digital Signature Details" is open select the "Advanced" tab then compare the "Serial number" with the known one.
(My S/N: “ec b8 10 3b e7 65 19 ba 4f 05 48 14 e3 34 97 61”)

Step 7 (Results)

If the serial numbers match then rest easy because you are using a "TRUE" Jwrightmcps ROM that has not been altered and is virus-free.

If the serial number does not match then it is not my original work and should not be used!

NOTE: I did this is case these files make it onto other sites, it will give you guys a way to tell if it is really mine or not. I will always use this serial number (ec b8 10 3b e7 65 19 ba 4f 05 48 14 e3 34 97 61) from now on to sign all my work, so please make note of it!

Yes you should load another radio after unlocking. My ROM contains radio 1.15 as part of the upgrade (although you may try another radio version) which should be just fine.

one general question to all:
sorry for offtop.

I have a 4gig miniSDHC card. it's visible, works great, but the speed is so low. about 200kb/sec. that's the max I ever visioned. this is when I copy from storage to storage. WM5storage also transfers only damned 200kb/sec while connected as storage memory.
help me someone, please.

Also has some questions:

1: How to use your provided resources in any existing kitchen utility? I noticed that the files/directory structure is not similar with those released kitchen tools. Can you give a simple instruction on that?

2: How to sign those applications/DLLs with the oem.cer but without a privated key file if I want to build them into the ROM? Why I have such request is I need to cook it again everytime to build the local IME into the English version.

Fantastic ROM every thing works perfect. As for the Arabic Language I found a solution:
1. Install attached file "Full Arabic Karamba_a"
2. Soft reset
3. Install the file "Arabic Fix"
4. Soft reset

Now the whole devise interface will be in Arabic. If you wish to make the interface in English with Arabic support:

1. Start->Settings->System->Multilingual Support
2. Change the country to whatever language you want.
3. On the control tap change the to "English with Arabic Support"
3. Make sure of activating "Smart Right to Left Editor" and "Prompt for Arabic Support in Messages"

I hope it works for you.

Hi there,

The installer makes a temp folder in c:\documents and settings .... etc.
(search in your system for most recent files)

open the temp folder and upgrade by "ROMUpgradeUt.exe`
and ofcourse delete the radio rom.

Look inside

C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Local Settings\Temp\{BDDBA5AC-E43C-47EE-9D80-F26205BB8CFF}

and remove the radio.nbf

To enable the "Delivery notifications" perform the following:

Open "Outlook Mobile"
Click "Menu>Tools>Options"
Select "Text Messages"
Check the "Request delivery notifications" checkbox
Click "OK"

That's all...

not sure if i'm missing something, but flashing rom thru vista and per instructions on wiki, i need to extract and copy .nbf files, but when i download rom and try to extract, it automatically starts up the wizard. with other roms i've flashed (laurentius) i could extract & copy .nbf files. how do i do this with Jwrights rom download? not sure where to look on forums for this answer, and coulnt find anything on wiki.

Copy the MP3 to /Windows/Rings/ and it should work fine

1. Remove any SD cards from your PDA
2. Get your PDA into bootloader mode (Hold the power and backlight buttons, then press the reset button (with your stylus))
3. Connect the PDA to the computer
4. Update the drivers for the PDA on your computer as per the instructions on how to upgrade using Vista
5. Run JWright's update and follow its instructions
6. Enjoy!

first thing is first thanks jwrights for thr wonderfull rom seems to working all fine as im not been able check all of the things flashed it yesterday night , now the PROBLEM actually in my previous rom jwrights 2.12.02 one I had ticked settings in encryption thingie dat "encrypt files on memory card it can be viewed by a windows mobile device like dis only" now I have flashed da new rom my documents files which I had on my memory card I can't read them there file extension has changed n wen I was tryin to transfer on my pc it was showin a icon of lock on the document meanin as if they r locked/encrypted how can I open get back they r really very important n I can't afford to loose them can anyone please tell me/help me out in dis n guide me dat how can I get them working again?

Hi,

This ROM rocks.... Its very stable with Radio 1.18.00 and there is no issues like radio crash error until now. Active sync performace improvement is noticable. Most of my frinds asked me whether I have changed my phone since the GSM performance drastically improved and there is no packet lost as before :p

I have a sugestion: It would be really good you give a clean install without any autorun of extra applications at the initial startup. Rather there should an option to select the application you whould like to install thro check boxes ( i think this is very well possible) where uncehcking all also possible. This will give more ROM for individuals to install whatever they like to.

My camera is not working good. It's not possible to make any videos.

Its says "Unable to record video. 36008:106:0 Error creating video file."

I thought this is related with the SDCard settings app but I already tried to rollback driver for the SD and vice-versa but the problem remains. :(

I tested it now and my Camera works great, video and photos without problems. I am using 4GB SD and 8GB SDHC.

To think I was so happy and decked out my 2.12.00 version. Sounds like more joy. One question and as a noob I have searched and searched. Is thier a guide for the remote desktop or media streamer programs? I have mastered most things on the phone but I'm stuck on those. I have a MDA Pro.

Simply remove radio.nbf and ms.nbf from your folder and leave nk.nbf this should work

Hi, anyone tried using Wireless Modem? it seems like not working. windows will not detect as HTC modem. When I point to correct driver its say "no device found".

OK I solved my problem!
The thing was, I didn't had the My Videos folder on the SD.
After its creation, my problem was solved.
I don't think so.. Your explanation looks strange for me. You had locked your card, did you? By my opinion the problem can not be "not created My Videos folder" on the SD card. Because if I will use absolutely clear SD card, camera works perfect anyway.. The camera aplication will create folder My Videos itself. And if I will lock my SD card, the same error message as you had will show..

I don't think so.. Your explanation looks strange for me. You had locked your card, did you? By my opinion the problem can not be "not created My Videos folder" on the SD card. Because if I will use absolutely clear SD card, camera works perfect anyway.. The camera aplication will create folder My Videos itself. And if I will lock my SD card, the same error message as you had will show..

Yes, it should create My Videos folder, but in my case it didn't.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure my problem was solved by the folder's creation. It immediately started working after that.

If you used the encryption applet present in the rom to encrypt your data on SD, as far as I know, you will not be able to decrypt them anymore 'cause everytime you reinstall the OS a new key for the encryption engine is generated. You had to decrypt them before installing the new ROM.

Hi, anyone tried using Wireless Modem? it seems like not working. windows will not detect as HTC modem. When I point to correct driver its say "no device found".

I'm able to use it, but I had the driver already installed (I was using it with the prev version of this ROM). BTW just for test I deinstalled it and reinstalled without problem, try to soft reset the Uni and the PC and try again.

2. Unlock - (read readme.txt). Soft Reset.
3. Unhide -just run the cab. SR after the installation.

How-To Verify a digitally signed file against a known serial number
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1

Download the file you wish for your device.
(i.e. "JASJAR_WWE_20108_20301_11300_wwe_ship.zip")

Step 2

Unzip the download.
(double-click the ".zip" file and then click on "Extract all files")

Step 3

Open the directory that you un-zipped the download to.
(i.e. folder "JASJAR_WWE_20108_20301_11300_wwe_ship")

Step 4

Locate the InstallSheild setup program in the ROM folder, then right-click it and choose "Properties".
(i.e. "JASJAR_WWE_20108_20301_11300_wwe_ship.exe")

Step 5

Once the file properties is open select the "Digital Signatures" tab, then in the "Signature List" double-click the "HTCCertificates signing authority" signature.

Step 6

Once the "Digital Signature Details" is open select the "Advanced" tab then compare the "Serial number" with the known one.
(My S/N: “ec b8 10 3b e7 65 19 ba 4f 05 48 14 e3 34 97 61”)

Step 7 (Results)

If the serial numbers match then rest easy because you are using a "TRUE" Jwrightmcps ROM that has not been altered and is virus-free.

If the serial number does not match then it is not my original work and should not be used!

NOTE: I did this is case these files make it onto other sites, it will give you guys a way to tell if it is really mine or not. I will always use this serial number (ec b8 10 3b e7 65 19 ba 4f 05 48 14 e3 34 97 61) from now on to sign all my work, so please make note of it!

I use JWs ROM with Ranjus Videocall cab and VC out works (with all Leos ROM bugs).
It's really sad we can't use our Universal fully with WM6 :(

not sure if i'm missing something, but flashing rom thru vista and per instructions on wiki, i need to extract and copy .nbf files, but when i download rom and try to extract, it automatically starts up the wizard. with other roms i've flashed (laurentius) i could extract & copy .nbf files. how do i do this with Jwrights rom download? not sure where to look on forums for this answer, and coulnt find anything on wiki.

for flashing via vista i use the same methods as with xp but when you connect your PDA in bootloader mod you need to use control panel to change the drivers for this mobile device to the old XP drivers (I have added them below). once these are loaded (you have to load them manualy 'i have disk') you MUST close 'wmdc.exe' (Windows mobile device centre). This is found in the processes tab in the windows task manger. once this is closed you can run the upgrade programs as instructed. once the the flash is compleated you must put your pda back into bootloader and reconnect it to the pc. once done return to control panal and get windows to search for new drivers for your mobile device this will re-install the vista drivers needed to use Windows mobile device centre. reset pda back to normal.
All done... til the next time......

thanks for the response guys. but i am talking about the same situation tha xp has stated. on soft reset w/o pressing anything and you get a message you will see tha notificationj icon. if you use the hardware key to open it the messaging program minimizes instead of opening the new message directly. you have to press it twice for it to open the new message. its a very miniscule fluke. but rather have a little work around because i know its going to be annoyinf at some point. all other in the rom is superb. again thanks to jw!!!

Quick solution to the problem mentioned above :-)

Regardless of whatever is detected on your windows, go to your hardware device manager from your System's applet.

Look for a new "Bluetooth Device" entry in your hardware list with an exclamation mark. Right click on it and select update driver.

Choose Install driver manually, and then choose select driver from list.

You'll find that windows automatically chooses the "USB Mass Storage" Driver as the closest match to your new attached hardware. Select that driver and let it install and update the previously installed Bluetooth Driver.

Your windows will remove the "Bluetooth Device" entry and add a new "USB Mass Storage" entry which means that you have succesfully installed the required drivers for the USB Host Storage Settings.

That's it !!! This is only done once. Once your driver is updated with the correct hardware type, your windows won't ask you to update the driver again.

try to fully charge the battery or plug the usb wall adapter, power on & check if you can get pass the boot screen.

This actually works... but the battery is broken then or what???? it can't be, it's almost new :s did i brick the battery or something, on wall adapter it just boots on, goes past installation and everything works :s

fully charge the battery to 100% until green led turns on. if it does soft reset & power off loop before it reaches 30% then your battery is weakening! confirm by following my previous suggestions.

mine before does the soft reset-power off loop at 94% when i turn on wifi. replaced it & it's back to normal. reflashing to 100& won't help, it's the battery & not the rom or the flash procedure.

fully charge the battery to 100% until green led turns on. if it does soft reset & power off loop before it reaches 30% then your battery is weakening! confirm by following my previous suggestions.

mine before does the soft reset-power off loop at 94% when i turn on wifi. replaced it & it's back to normal. reflashing to 100& won't help, it's the battery & not the rom or the flash procedure.

Thank you very much for this ROM. I've been using it with many different applications for the last few days and there is no problem at all. The only thing we are all here in the Arab world missing is to get the external keyboard to work in Arabic. It used to work with WM5 that came originally with the PDA but none of the WM6 ROMs that I've tested worked with it. If it's not a bother what would you suggest to do or if you have any ideas that would be a great help. Once again thank you for this excellent work.

There is nothing wrong with the battery or phone,if you re-flash your phone with the original wm5 rom and then wm6 again it will work fine, it happened to me as well, try it and let me know.

I had the same problem with the 2.12.00 release. Once I have set the phone to vibrate, rather than "On", I can't seem to get it to reverse that change, and so my phone is silent until I soft reset it.

Any ideas?

Did you try dialing your own number? I'm pretty sure that takes you to voicemail too.

FWIW I have the camera problem too. I've not tried to work out when it happens, but it's normally when I push the camera button by mistake when I pick it up, and then it reboots on me. I suspect it's after a while of use, and so the amount of free memory has dropped below a particular threshold, or something.

My 2 cents on this matter: I have noticed such a behaviour too. Like you, I allways kill running applications after I finish using them, but even through Oxios Hibernate, although it really seems to free up a couple of MBs, I'm still unable to get the same ammount of free memory as I had after a SR (or, at least, a value close to that). 8 to 10MB of memory seem to get hanging along the way, although general peformance doesn't seem to get affected.

Perhaps this general loss of free memory might contribute to the camera buffer problem some people here (including me) have reported. Just a thought...

Just for the record:

Blueangels netplug.cab (in attached) works at least in this Universal ROM.
Another useful function that will be preset in the next BeastyLeo ROM.
I don't understand all the fuzz about it... Probably most people didn't try this almost bugless ROM.

To summarize this ROM bugs:
- Small memory leak
- Camera soft resets PDA when buffer runs out (most likely related to the memory leak)

I have a couple of questions, no complaints so don't worry! :)

1.
When I install these ROM's it always asks after install which provider I'm using. However it never sets up the GPRS/MMS settings, is this the same for others, is it expected?

2.
What if any benefits are there from unlocking the extended ROM? Is it just more storage space, or does it give more program memory, or something else?

i've flashed from WM5 to WM6, for first time my JJ last Sunday...(it was with the original I-MATE Ita Rom 1.30.81 )
with the LAST GREAT Jwrightmcps 2.12.04 (PERFECT 4 ME! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!)
but only two little things:

-the camera buffer issue (which is higher priority :P )(i can't wait!)
-how can i config the Internet Calling VOIP included?
i've not found the VOIP Setup in the System Menu or Programs but only the PHONE tab.....

I have one annoying problem, The start button frezzes if the phone backlight goes off during a phone call or if i close the screen down on opening. I think this applies in anycombination of phone call and black screen, so as long as phone call taking place and black screen takes place the start button will frezze not allowing access to the menu at all.

Excuse me Jwrightmcps, but when I installed the transacriber from this cab, the transcriber icon shows up but when I select it, it doesn't work. When I manually run Transcriber.exe from the \windows folder it says "Transcriber cannot locate its language specific data". Any ideas?

PS: Same problem etibon has. When I select it an error message pops up "Can't Load Resource Dll". If I run transcriber.exe "Transcriber is unable to locate its language specific data and must exit".

PS2: Just compared with the other cab I've told you about (I can't see the icons in the bars nor in the settings) and it has 3 dll files that yours doesn't have. I don't know if they are indispensable or not. It's just to let you know. Hope it helps

I tested this. My uni don't warn me on 20%, only on 10%. One more problem, when uni goes standby, my BT handsfree disconnect. Both problems wasn't on your last ROMs Jason.

Did you try to install old MSN Messenger? I need it, don't like Agile or others messengers. MSN Live Messenger "eat" so many GPRS data, and we don't have flat GPRS in our country :(

I've installed it 2 days ago and have been playing around and loading it with my usual set of tools since. Again, truely very stable.

There are only two minor annoyances so far, both of wich were also present in the two other WM6 roms I've tested, but iirc not in the WM5 roms.

It is not possible, to have the machine keep a copy of sent items in the respective folder. They shortly show up there while sending, but get deleted immediately. For two different Imap4 and one exchange account this seemed to be independet of checking the respective box in options as well of whether the sent items folder was set to be synced or not.

Settings - Input gives us the option to check, whether the first letter of sentences is to be capitalized or not. But regardless, the first word after a dot (.) is capitalized anyway. A pain in the a**, if you're frequently using abbreviations...

Allways easy to name some flaws, nevertheless, the rom is great!

Just install them as they have the basics you will need for running the Arabic language. You can install them anywhere you want.

I have mangaed to solve the problem although not much of a solution. it seems that the problem is caused by using the password protect. I did another rom flash and forgot to but the password in and the problem was gone.
Not had the problem for at least 36 hours now.

Just odd bugs here and there but overall no seriuos probs

I have just sent all beta testers their download links and test instructions for the next release. After they report their test results I will be able to give you guys an ETA on the public release date. Basically if all goes as expected, I should have the update uploaded by Friday night (GMT -6). Otherwise it may take a few more days.

Which, if I'm not mistaken, has much better memory management? (can't find the post but I saw somewhere that it had around 30-35 ram on soft reset on the vanilla version!)

You are right, if we run this build with no add-os (HTC soft, VoiceCmd, A2DP, etc..) you get about 32-34 MB after SR and this is true for just about all builds. However in a "full" version we end-up with about 25-27 MB after SR, but have everything needed for that full "pocket pc" experience, which IMO is worth its extra weight, but not all may agree...

That's why I release my source when it’s done, so you can use it combined with all the resources found on this site, to compile your own version that can better suite your needs if desired.

Just food for thought, now get out there and learn :)

Hi JW! Sorry for not replying you earlier on voice command as i was away for a few days. It was actually my fault, I cleaned a few registry files through pocket mechanic and voice command was not responding but now it is perfectly working fine.

Rest is fine with the ROM but having severe problems with the bluetooth headsets. I was using Motorola H-500 headset and for no apparent reason it stopped working while hearing a call. I tried to pair it again but it gave me an error that this headset cannot be connected to this device. I thought may be the headset is finished so I bought motorola H-800 headset and get it paired. It worked fine but now bluetooth dropout is too much while hearing a call. During the call it just switch off and transfer the call back to phone.

I hard reset my phone as well but the only difference it made that my old motorola H-500 headset is again working fine with JASJAR but bluetooth headset call drop outs are just too much for me on both the headsets. I checked both the headsets with other phones and they perfectly work fine. Is there any problem with ROM or what. I do not understand. Can you please look into the matter?

What ROM version are you curently using?

The reason I ask is that the issue you have described was being caused by the old version of MS voice command. This faulty version was replaced by a newer updated version (1.6.17913), starting from 2.12.02 and above...

I'm using your latest 2.12.04 (complete: os+radio+ext)
It also happened once with 2.12.02 but that evening I've upgraded to 2.12.04. And that is the version of MS voice command I have (1.6.17913) still with the default settings.

Could you please set a password and see if it still happens? Because I too had this issue when using my older builds and it would ask me for my password (which I did set) and wouldn't accept it, causing me to SR the device (happened every morning, drove me crazy). Cant Wait For The New Rom

I need urgent your help, I tried to upgrade my JASJAR to this version 2.12.04 but its hungs up at the splash screen (start up) not going anywhere dead:eek: .
I tried the following:
- Soft reset - no luck
- Hard reset - no luck
- re-upgrade the ROM to 2.12.04 - no luck and I got error 101: connection error
- I tried to downgrade to the original version - no luck and I got the same error message error 101: connection error
- I tried to run JASJAR_BL1.01_RUU_V1.2.exe - no luck and I got the same error message error 101: connection error

what happening it seems couldn't load the OS and stuck on Boot Screen

any other suggestions will be appreciated

To enable the "Delivery notifications" perform the following:

Open "Outlook Mobile"
Click "Menu>Tools>Options"
Select "Text Messages"
Check the "Request delivery notifications" checkbox
Click "OK"

That's all...

All ends therethrough, that it wants the password from me. But i never used the password pretection before. My friends from that forum are telling me, that it must be by defective hardware of my device. But I hope it will not be. My device is in default settings, almost nothing installed. All begins if I do not soft reset for a long time and if I use Pocket Internet Explorer for writing a big amount of text by typing on hardware keyboard. Than the system of my device craschup. Basically, you should upgrade the bootloader, format your Docs ROM, and reflash. One thing you shouldn't do after reflash (hard reset), directly after reflash do a soft reset, and you will be fine ...

Jason, excellent work with this ROM, but I need the BT dial-up networking working to use my JASJAR as an UMTS modem to connect my PC.

Has anybody managed to make working the bluetooth dial-up?

I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333762 and downloaded and installed the BT DUN patch from here http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/WM6_BT_DUN.cab . Although the dial-up networking profile now appears and connects, it fails when dial-in into the mobile network (I'm using movistar, spain and with a dial-up profile that I used before with the WM5 ROM. Also tested with a diferent SIM from vodafone and also using a previously working dial-up profile, but again without success).

Could somebody helps? Thanks in advance.

JWrightmcps, I gotta hand it to you, this is the best ROM I've used yet. For the first time, my TCPMP player benchmarks over 100% with this one. Seems very stable and fast.

Using the VGA mode from the Athena forum (I think that's where it came from).

Problem with Windows Media Player. When trying to play a song sync'd from XP, it gives the message "%1 is not a valid Win32 application". Any ideas about that?

here's the full solution step-by-step to share with you guys

First download mtty utility (see the attached file)
1. Take out the SD and SIM cards
2. Opened ActiveSync and go to file, connection setting and Un-check "Allow USB Connections". Then press Ok and close ActiveSync
3. Put in bootloader mode (Power + Light + reset) which brings up the "un-backlit" screen with "Serial" at the top and v0.XX at the bottom
4. Plug in USB cable DIRECTLY from PC to Jasjar (MAKE SURE NOT TO USE A USB HUB). You MIGHT then see a warning window complaining that an "Unsigned" device driver is being attempted to be installed. You will be prompted to either "STOP INSTALLATION" or "CONTINUE ANYWAY" - this warning can be safely ignored and so just click on "CONTINUE ANYWAY".
5. Open mtty utility / software
6. Select USB from the "Port" drop-down on the upper left corner of the dialog box and hit OK
7. Then another screen will come up. Hit enter and that will show "USB>"
8. Type "set 14 0" and hit enter. You will see some jibberish on the mtty utility which will again be suffixed by "USB>".
9. Type "task 28 55aa" This commmand suppose to "Restores DOC to its original layout". AFTER YOU RAN THE COMMAND, YOU WILL SEE "WAIT" and wait until you see the command line again.
10. You can INSTALL YOUR ROM AGAIN and it should work, at least it work for me

I'm having troubles with my bluetooth headset too. It just gives a single beep in about 3 to 5 second intervals when it's connected; and no sound is redirected to it.

I installed Helmi's Broadcom Bluetooth stack which gives more flexibility with BT services. I've never had problems using it before. I tried to uninstall but I get BT hardware error messages when I do so I have to reinstall it. BT works fine with ActiveSync with the Broadcom stack.

Any suggestions?
