I have a problem SwiftBlade - Whenever I reboot the Touch, 8 times out of 10, it hangs! I then have to take out the battery and restart.

Just to give you some more info - It boots up, the Today screen is loaded and then some application starts up (I thought it was 'StartClean'...but that is not there in my startup programs - checked with SKTools). I can see the close 'X' button on the top-right. But it just sits there for as long I leave it (3-4 minutes until I lose my patience!). The Touch does not respond to screen taps, hardware keys etc. If I press the power button on top (to suspend), the backlight dims.

I then have to remove the battery and restart, praying that this time it would boot up properly.

Any suggestions (except for a hard-reset: I just finished configuring everything!)

Hi Swiftblade, thanks very much for your further works! Just a side question, as rapidshare doesn't work for me, I would like to use the mirror link as hosted by Andrew Loh. I'm wondering, each time when you revise the Rom, you'll prob of course update your own rapidshare link, but is the version hosted by Andrew Loh updated as well?

Also if its not too much trouble, is it possible to update Touch Settings in your Rom, as the latest version is already 2.2? As in:

That's Home Tab was with Advanced Config v1.0 but is removed from the current V1.1. Now if you want eh favourite people tab back do the following tweaks using RegEdit:

[HKLM\Software\OEM\MASD]
Delete "Quickdial" totally

[HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome]
Tabsettings: 1,3,4,5,6,2<-- Add "2"

Wait for a few minutes and do a soft reset.

I wish it can be done but it can't. At least 3 tabs will be displayed by default.

No the BT_Connection_Fix was meant for V3.02. There is no BT problems with V3.21 and V4.0.

For you to receive files, there are some settings required for the BT Connection and BT Explorer. I can't recall exactly what they are now and so go explore abit yourself.

Another way is to install DrYAR Bluetooth Apps.

Does anyone have this bt connection fix as i have v3.02 still and cant upgrade and lost the file and the link is missing thanks

Okay, found the problem, One of the BT drivers is corrupted. Simply installed the BT_Connection_Fix.CAB (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=59993&d=1196388481)attached at the first post to fix the BT connection dropping problem. Cheers.

I found out that this BT Connection FIx is not needed as it works fine without it. That's why it is removed. Why do you need the fix file?

cheers. u can send files by bluetooth to phone but when in file explorer and click on a file to beam it just quickly flashes to the searching device screen then back to file explorer and thats it.

Running Blue Touch v4 and it's damn good. Coupla things I'd be interested to know if you can do ....

On the bar with 5 buttons on the home screen (home, weather etc) the button that you click for Launch Music Player ... can you change which music player is launched here? I can't get on with HTC Audio because of the fact it doesn't play albums in order (unless someone's found a fix to this that I haven't yet seen...??) and so I'd like this button to launch WMP instead. Managed to make the similar button on the cube do this, but I can't find how to map this button to WMP as well.

Also - and considerably more trivially - is it easy to change the font of the big clock on Home?

The simplest method for changing pagepool for this ROM is using vippie's pagepool change batch files but unfortunately he had removed the download link because of the problems it had caused to the ELFins.

I see whether I can find them again and upload here. Hope vippie don't mind I posting it here. Remeber that it works on the ELFs only.

Yes, I tried it on v4.0 before and no problem at all. Actually, v4.0 ROM is not pure 2.20 WWE ROM, the XIP is sorta modified or ported... Since this ROM is already Enable-Rapi, just activsync and run the batch file of your choice and your pagepool is changed in a jizzy.

Yes i want to try 6 or even 8 mb. I removed the cube since i hardly use it so I have extra memory. If it turns out ok i will flash your blu elves v.5 rom.

Hi adeline... you are stuck at Step 2/3 at 75%, it indicate that SuperCID is not successful. Try to do the followings and try again:

1. Remove your SD Card if you have not don't so. This is especially so if you are using 4Gb mircoSHDC card and above.
2. Charge up your device battery level if it is less than 60% full.
3. Do a soft reset of your device.
4. Connect to activesync and allows the synchronisation to complete.
5. Now you can try running Start.bat again.

p.s. Be patient! Some times it need a few tries to successfully get the "white screen" after Step 2/3 and the ROM upgrading.

My 1st ever flash to another rom was a few months ago to v3.21, and I LOVE IT!:) You're great Swiftblade! Though you've come out with newer roms including v4.0 and your latest, i still love the look and the stability of 3.21 and think that i'll stick with it for awhile. There is a little problem though that I hope somebody may help me with. I find that i'm unable to surf the net on my elf for very long without getting the low device memory message often:confused:. I usually have to activate hibernate to be able to regain back some mb to continue. However, after a certain period, the device crashes (or comes close to crashing!) because of low memory. Any suggestions to help solve this problem? Help from anyone sorely needed! Thanks in advance!

Ever since i flashed this ROM (which is awesome btw) i noticed that my recent history when browsing with opera mini is limited to about a 3 page history. I am not sure is this is relevant to the ROM and the 4mb pagepool but I hope i can find an answer. Would a larger pagepool resolve this?

my today screen stays light blue. Im trying to change to one of the other themes. Like one of the black ones.

but its just blue (bluerom haha).

I can use pictures as background, and glossu black Bars work, but not themes.

As you have mentioned in the thread, do you mean that other versions as given above will not be affected in anyway by upgrading just the ROM...

2. Do you have a white backround ROM as my handset is black HTC Touch and in this ROM screenshot, all the screen backgrounds are BLACK too....So i think this will not look good on my Touch...pls suggest...

3. Last question: Would it be possible to revert back to my original ROM in case i wish to do so for some reason??? Is there a way for this??

hi swiftblade, i manage to flash the rom successfully. i'm so happy. but i had to fix the activesync problem 86000107 first.

however, today was trying to get into my email and sms. but pressing the respective icons didn't work. looks as if the messaging program is not linked to the icons.

andrew, i downloaded this rom from your mirror site. could ht be it's not the latest update? just a thought.

I flash to v.3.21 before, suddenly the message stoped working. No sms, email. I tried clear storage and soft reset. But still didnt' work. Now, i've updated to the new v. 4, but same problem still exist. Is there anyway I can fix this? Or do I have to go back to the OEM rom?

Can someone recommend a good backup utility software so that I can backup my SMS's before i flash my device with this great ROM created by Swiftblade (two thumbs up!!)?

I have the original rom from HTC now, and I want to upgrade, but not loose my sms's. The other information is stored on the exchange server so mail, contacts and calender is taken care of.

hi there i have been using blue rom V4 for a while and its fab.
recently i have had an error come up twice.
it says sdmux crash error, last count 0 this count 1.

i dont know if it is the rom or an app i have installed. or a tweak i have done.
does any one no what this error is about???
the most recent tweak i did was to increase the touch thresholds and the cube rotation speed increase.

Your situation appears to be that of an ELFin flashing to a ELF ROM. Check carefully whether you actually have an ELF with 64/128Mb or ELFin with 128/256Mb.

If you are having an ELFin, flash to Blue Elves ROM 5.0 and see the problems go away. Cheers.

The initial problem I had was that I could not switch ON the phone after it switched off..

** Update **

Glad I was able to figure this out myself through trial and error. Basically, there was a problem with the mail being on the storage card for both versions. I popped the SD Card out, reset, got into the mail, put the card back in, got a Storage Card 2, reset, renamed the Storage Card to Storage Card Old, renamed Storage Card 2 to Storage Card, reset, and I was able to set up my mail again.

I'd just like to take a moment to REALLY thank everyone who didn't bother to help me on this, because now I know. I'm sure you all were just "let's teach him to fish ..." I'm sure that was it.

I've tried this twice and ran into the same issue (tenacity or stupidity ... you decide). I went from 4.0 to Elves 5 and liked it, but the memory impact was too much with wm6.1 on my little original HK Touch, so I tried to flash 4.0 back on. I couldn't get messaging to work on the touch (just locked up) and ActiveSync said there was an error with wcsemgr.exe. I reflashed to 5.0 ... email and activesync back to normal. Reflashed to 4.0 and same email / messaging problem.

My guess is that it is like the DRM issue you helped me with before. Somewhere between 6.1 and 6, there is a file(s) missing that I need. Any thoughts?

5 - yes, i installed ROM v.5 and later i changed back to v.4 because it has more MB of ROM and 4MB PagePool.
I performed a reset with Mtty, then i reflashed the fourth version.

when i originally installed this ROM it gave me 27M free memory as you stated in first post.

i have installed loads of apps ( to storage card)

when i reset my device it goes from 19M to 24M then starts to decrease from 22M to somewhere in between 19 and 22M.

i regularly use OXIOS and PMCLEAN.

what is taking the prog mem usage?
is it the today screen??? the stored icons in programs???

can i increase the memory???

otherwise this phone is finally where it should be.
allbeit sometimes a bit choppy and slow.

can you describe what is exactly opening up? I had a similar problem in the UK where for some reason my Touch started opening SKTools (I think thats the name) every few minutes.. a nightmare!
Solved it changing a registry key value..

Yeah, it's the STK service that opens up. there's three folders on the display named; my account, call orange, information.

It also opens up if you turn off then on, the 'phone' icon in comm manager.

because each device are different from another. So this ROM was made only for Touch Elf with 64/128 RAM/ROM.

Hi guys, just need some info here, I have flash to this rom last week and it work great and i like it. But today when i try to flash to another rom to test it and it won't work. it stop flashing at 3% and come out error 270 if im right. after all i try to go to tricolor mode and i realise that my IPL & SPL change which is now 2.20.0002 & 2.20.0000 after flashing the Blue 4.0 rom but the original should be 1.11.0000 i guess. Its that because the IPL & SPL have change thats why i can't flash with other roms. Any solution for it as i just don't want my elf be lock like this. thanks

I actually did figure it out, it had something to so with mail being on the storage card. If you reflash and leave the card out, you'll be able to get mail working. Put the card in and re-start, you'll have a Storage Card 2 now, but if you do some regediting and renaming of directories, you should be able to get it to work. I appended my original post with more details. Also, there is a program called DRMfix.cab that will take care of any problems with subscription music on the storage card as well.

The Camera is no longer storing pictures in /storage card/DCIM/100photo folder. It is storing pictures in /storage card/my documents/my pictures.

You probably have accidentally changed the default directory for your photos with Advanced Configuration Tools. Try to change it back to the default directory and soft reset....

I did not received any feedbacks of this nature with this rom. Not likely to be the rom issue. With such brief description it is hard to tell you what's the problem. I only can venture that some 3rd party softwares that you installed after flashing caused the problem or you have restored some system files that you earlier backup... Provide more details of what you do after flashing and maybe someone here can solve it... Cheers

If you are upgrading from an official ROM, you should CID unlock first using pof's USPL v1 which can be downloaded from one of the sticky posts in the forum.

k here is what happpened

o imediately ran start.bat

done step and step 2 then screen went white and pressed enter on step 3 it gave error when ruu launched

Have you copied EnableRapi and SDKCert files to your device and installed them before running Start.bat? After that reset your device..

One more thing to note: when you activesync with your PC, allow the syncing to complete totally before you run Start.bat.....

DO not manually go to the RUU to update, It will not work.. You need to activesnyc with your PC and run start.bat all over again.

Which ROM file did you download... Please download the revised version (which is 2nd download link)

k did it again when i get the white screen i press enter for 3rd step and the device won't go to bootloader mode it just stays on white screen and ruu launches automatically but eventually gives an error

Let do it all over again from the begining FRESH:

1. Remove your 4GB mircoSD Card from the device
2. Reset your device and restart your PC
3. Wait till the device and PC have completed start-up.
4. Connect device to PC using USB cable.
5. Wait till synchronisation is totally completed.
6. Open up the ROM folder and double-click on "Start.Bat" to begin flashing process.
7. Follow instructions on the PC screen.
8. After Step 1, press "Enter" to continue
9. After Step 2, wait for penguin to disappear and you get a blank white screen.
10. If you don't get blank, you CID unlock failed then you have disconnect and repeat from Step 2.
10. If you successfully get the bank white screen... OK SUCCESS... press "Enter" to continue.
11. Follow the instructions on the PC screen again.. When completed.. VOILA you have a new rom.... Good Luck!

I did not received any feedbacks of this nature with this rom. Not likely to be the rom issue. With such brief description it is hard to tell you what's the problem. I only can venture that some 3rd party softwares that you installed after flashing caused the problem or you have restored some system files that you earlier backup... Provide more details of what you do after flashing and maybe someone here can solve it... Cheers

Today I removed my SD card (exactly the same with yours) and the messages opened. I inserted my card again and now the messages open. I will use it for some days and see if it happens again.

This was my first flash/upgrade to my Rogers HTC Touch phone.
I had a small issue installing the Cert_SPCS.CAB and Enable-Rapi.CAB.

After I installed those files, I wasn't getting the white screen I was supposed to. I did a google search on the error message I was getting and in some forum it told me to put the files in a folder, in the same directory as the Windows folder and then I did the steps again and I was in business...I hope that helps someone??

After several failed attempts, I finally able to flash the new ROM (previously using v3.21).

I think that this new ROM is faster than the previous version.
Menu access and booting speed is noticeable (without overclocking).
The LG menu is very interesting although cover up the Today screen.

However, I'm having big issue with GPRS connection. It wont connect at all.
Everytime I try to connect, the screen is showing my GPRS user account (username and password field, which is set automatically, and I've also tried to fill it manually).

Have anyone experienced this situation?

I am using the v4.0 for more than 8 months already.

Very good version, very stable.

I barely do a soft reset once in about 2 weeks.

the only problem i have, is that despite the 57MB storage, I cannot run gps sw without getting low in memory.

My next project is trying to upgrade the build in memory on the motherboard to 128mb or maybe 256mb. (who knows... maybe 1GB onboard memory chip is not so unreal...)


if anyone have info about the elf mb, or any HTC conf*denc*al spec, it will help a lot.

i think you might have a CID problem. try to search for the "Blue_Touch ROM V4 CID ERROR FIX"

after flashing my elf to the Blue Rom, i can't seem to read all the data in my storage card.

it has a weird "fc20cb2b" extension to every of the files. i tried re-editing the file name but seems like it has been converted to another data type with a "
.menc"??

when i googled, it states that the file in the storage card has been encrypted. is there a way to encrypt it? has anyone encounter similar issues? maannn...all my backup files are now in that format and can't be retrieved..

I need your help. I have flashed the ROM, everything is working great but my mobile is getting switched of if I click on power off button (a single click). It was working without any issues before, however, after this ROM I'm forced to use the reset button and restart the phone to make it active. Can anyone of you please help me fixing this? (I'm sure there could be some setting I might be missing). Your help is highly appreciated.
