it´s a very nice ROM. It have all Features. Special Thanks to the Cooker. :-)
But i tryed to change the keyboardlayout from qwerty to qwertz and the change does not work....
I have tried over Programs/Accessories/AdvancedConfig/Misc
and i have tried over the Registry HKLM/Software/OEM/qwerty to change the Layout Key, but my keyboard is in "Englisch". Can anyone help me please...

I think you are talking about the right softkey. Somehow it's overwritten after a few resets by the system files. To make it permanent, use Advanced Config Tool in Program-->Accessories to remap it...

I went to the link on the 1st page & did the update to v1.1 from 1.0 but nothing's changed for me. I still see the 5 tabs, storage 55, prog 47, phonepad etc. Where do I see the version of the d/loads and was there something else I should've done? Thx in advance & BTW, GR8 ROM (V1.0)

There is a tab for Contacts in the HTC Home. If you are using v1.0 then use regedit to delete the registry key HKLM\Software\OEM\MASD\QucikDial ..then reset, the contacts will appear. This is fixed in v1.1 though.

tried the 202 official rom for about 2hours, then decided to switch back to BTR. Not a prob, coz i backed up before trying out the official 202 rom.

Wasn't impressed, and found BTR pretty much more responsive than this official update.

Yes, I agree with you. I have made a version 1.20 with the new ROM code 2.20.707.1B very similar setup to version 1.1 but with the integrated Touch keyboard + keypad intact. I must say I am abit disappointed as the Touch keyboard + keypad is taking up far too much memory space (5~6MB to be exact). This has resulted in slower system start up and reset as compared with version 1.1. The ROM is stable and runs fairly quick after the system start up though.

Storage Memory
Total: 50.98Mb (56.12Mb in v1.1)
Free: 47.02Mb (52.02Mb in v1.1)

Program Memory
Total: 49.91Mb (6Mb Pagepool)
Free: 22.57Mb

A simple keyboard SIP taking up 5Mb+ even it's an international version (Spanish, italian, french and german is included) is not acceptable for me. Looking at how to further trim the Touch keyboard or maybe removing some useless programs.... so now is back to version 1.1 for myself. One plus point with this ROM though and that is the integrated Touch keyboard works flawlessly.

After some rampaging into new 2.20 ROM code, I am making some progress and have managed to trim some "fats" from the new HTC ROM Code 2.20.707.1B WWE. Now the new version 1.21 Blue Touch ROM is lean and clean again. It's now very stable and fast as ever and this is without overclocking and with 4mb pagepool. And the memory is respectable too as listed below:

Storage Memory:
Total - 53.18Mb
Free - 48.58Mb

Program Memory:
Total - 51.92Mb (4Mb Pagepool)
Free - 25.30Mb

The new version 1.21 will have the some features as what are in version 1.1 but with the integrated Touch Dual Keyboard and keypad which are working beautifully without glitches.

I will put the ROM to some final testing and hope to release it maybe in a few hours' time when I get home.

Dave, you are using version 1.0. This is fixed in version 1.1.

Simple fix to the bug now:

Copy SIPChange.lnk from the Windows deirectory to Windows\Startup directory. Do a soft reset and it should works.

Hi tigabert, sorry will not make vanilla version anymore. Anyway the full version is "almost vanilla" with minimum and only useful applications installed.

I'm still a little new at all this, I've used both versions of this ROM and like them both (although I do miss the keyboard in the 1.1 version) so please forgive what may seem like an obvious question :)

If I want to change the pagepool back to 6 or even 8 using the autochange tool, will this cause any problems with you ROM ? I'm guessing not, but want to check anyway ;)

Have you only changed the pagepool because of the size of the keyboard / keypad, or was there another reason ?

Yes, all files located back to device. Those wish to re-locate them may do so using advance configuration tool in the ROM.

You don't have to backup official ROM as they are easily available from this site be it 1.11.707.1B, 1.17.707.2B or the latest 2.20.707.1B. Just check what is your ROM version. You may backup applications though but it's not advisable to restore them back when you installed a different ROM.

An observation:

It takes a while for the device to be usable after booting. Even though the Home screen is displayed, some things keep happening in the background that take around 30-40 seconds to finish. Although there was a delay with my earlier ROMs too, it was not so long. Will explore.

Anyhow..after I installed PCM Keyboard the Keyboard itself shows...BUT whatever I type doesn't show on screen...in any application.
To my knowledge its a conflict with the HTC Keyboard/Keypad (which are anyhow not really usefull).
Any ideas how to solve this problem?

hi tigabert... Can't open log file error indicated .nbh file is not found. Dis you put in the right location? If you are using the USPL in the ROM update, you can't cos it's written for that particular file only.

Frankly, I can't solve the conflict problems. Actually Touch keyboard/keypad is multi-language supporting Geman, Spanish, Italian and French beside English. But this ROM is WWE English only. I have a Version 1.20 which is multi-language though. If you're interested, let me know and I canl upload a link to it. BTW, which language are you looking for?

You can use v1.1 (based on 1.17 ROM code) then which is without keyboard SIP. I thought there is alot of people who wanted the Touch Keyboard/keypad which is only main thing in the the new ROM code update. Ripping it off is as good as reverting to the previous ROM code 1.17.707.2B.

hmm, I managed to botch my upgrade somehow.
Afterwards, couldnt get activesync to find my device, tried on several comps. Did mange to reflash using standard unlock.

Now I need to insert your new ROM without the extra unlock :rolleyes:
How should I do this, can I use something from your new pack, or should I bow my head and go back to former version 1.1 ?

I tried to make myself a clean vanilla rom based on that new 2.20 rom, but failed (absolutely natural for a n00b^^). Regarding the 2.20, I saw in the OEMAPPS folder that there is a smsTrigger.exe, any idea how it works?

I'm using 1.21. Wierd thing I found so far is that when I turn off 'suggest words while typing', it still suggests words in a small area above the keyboard... :confused:

Hope someone can help, I followed the instructions but now my phone is now frozen. After pressing the "start.bat", part 1 completed okay, so did part 2 and the active sync went grey and the screen on the touch when blank.

However while using the update utility i noticed that the green Active Sync would not light up. I had read somewhere that the program stops it anyway so I went ahead and tried to install the Blue Touch Rom. The program told me to not disconnect the USB cable etc.. however I recieved a message after a few seconds giving I think error code 266 - Could not recieve a signal from the mobile. It said click to cancel which I did and I tried to soft reset the touch.

Now when I power up the screen quickly flashes up "Searching for SD Card" and then goes into a three colour screen RED, GREEN, and BLUE. It says "IPL 1.13.0002 on one line and SPL 1.13.0000 on the line below". It also says "RUU" in the top right hand corner. Other than this the phone does not respond. When I connect the USB cable to the phone "USB" appears in the bottom left of the phone but active sync does not turn green or connect.

Please help!!! What should I do?

Thank you!! I guess I should count myself lucky. I thought I would try and reload the Blue Touch Rom when it came to the screen were it tried to read what version of Rom is on the phone it suddenly restarted with my T-mobile logo. Everything is as I left it.

The only other thing I did was take out my Sim card and SD Card which you mentioned so I don't know if this had any effect. All the time the phone was connected to the PC the green active sync would not recognize the phone.

Anyway I think it may be unwise to ever try anything like this again. On contract with TMobile in UK and maybe their rom is protected or something.

Or do you think it would be safe to try and repeat the procedure my removing SIM/SD Card?

u can reflash the blue touch rom with the included start.bat file and follow the steps mentioned again. rem to do this with your sd card and sim card removed. there should be no problems. :) the blue touch rom v1.21 is a good piece of work.. kudos to swiftblade ^^ worth a try compared to the orginal touch rom. pls update if u encounter any more probs.

Thanks for your help guys. Took a deep breath and tried again without the Micro SD/Sim card and hey presto!! To think a couple of hours ago I was pulling my hair out thinking I had bricked my new phone. Now enjoying the new rom which I must admit does seem quicker.

One question, do I have to reinstall apps that were previously installed such as pocket player/opera etc..?

meddleuk when u reflash any new rom your old installed applications will be gone. its like a reformat. so u have to do the installation of all your applications again which is the recommended method given that a restoration of old applications more than likely will cause some errors. :)

hi mingean... for this rom update, just click on start.bat and the CID unlocking and Rom updating is automated by pressing <ENTER> after each Step 1/3 and Step 2/3 of the process and your rom is updated in a breeze. If it fails, installed the two installation cabs Cert_SPCS and Enablerapi provided in the rom package and re-flash the rom.

As for backup if things go wrong (it shouldn't), use Sprite Backup and you can revert to your old rom and settings if you don't like the new rom. Try to have a copy of the official HTC ROM (1.11.707.1B or 1.17.707.2B) which you are using right now in hand so the you can load it up using bootloader (tri-color stuff) if things really get nasty. It shouldn't but just in case. Cheers..

Hi Nick.. to change back My_Documents location back to device, delete the registry value "FileSyncPath"="\\Storage Card\\My Documents" from the registry key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services]

I didn't use PCM keyboard so I don't know. But I heard PCM KB is very similar to Touch Keyboard and there lies the "conflicts". You may want to try to disable Touch Keyboard as default first and install PCM KB and see whether it works.

Hi faisals... If you have try the new official HTC Rom 2.20.707.1B WWE, your SPL is 2.20.0000 now. This rom will not change your SPL.

You can try this custom rom and try. If you have problemswith hardware and want to bring it back to HTC, just flash back the official ROM using bootloader and your warranty is intact. Cheers..

Pls try to close all programs, especially storage card's folder or PPC folder first. Then, using ELF USPL to flash it again! Pls check about your unzipped folder of ELF USPL that all needed files are in the same folder. Good Luck.

Hi akagi... I think you downloaded the worng application at pocketemu. It should be the HTC Home Customiser (HHC) that you are looking for. Also before installing it, remove HTC Home from Today first.

As to your mess with themes and touch keypad, just unistalled whatever applications you have installed, soft reset and it should return back to its original state.

I think your problem doesn't lie with the hexeditor but the new ROM code. Mine works because I use a different build. There is alot of discussion in bram_smulders Touch Dual thread and I think he found a solution. Basically I think the offset address is different in this new ROM...

Hi fredfox... you are right, the contacts at HTC Home in not sticking. The new ROM code has make Biotouch Cube default somehow. I have not really look into it.. Trasition solution would be to key the contacts at cube and it will stick at contacts in HTC Home (sounds dqmn silly anyway... haha) Will try to work on that in the next ROM, if any is coming..:D

Anyway, didn't like the new ROM a single bit. I think it's a conspiracy by HTC to change the setup of this ROM to prevent us from customising it and outdo them...

It should be one original ROM, AFAIK there is no ROM's availiable for the spanish Touch, so if I need to send it back there will be no warranty :(

I did one backup using the Wiki method, and I'm diying to try a more memory rom, mine when I'm listening to the radio can't send emails cause it gets so low on memory that it locks, and the only way around is resetting. It's really a shame.

BTW how do you get your IPL and SPL version? Wanna compare it with the one in your rom ;)

Just one more question, if I install your rom and then I need to send it back, if install the backup I made from mine, would that work to get it throu the service center checks? Or there would be a version mismatch over there?

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go later when I get a chance. Apart from that, I'm really liking the ROM.

I had one other problem, after installing Resco Explorer and the today plugin, the screen was corrupted where the plugin should have displayed. I changed the pagepool size to 6mb and all was fine !! Don't know if this was a coincidence or not, but I haven't got around to testing it again. If I get a chance tonight / tomorrow then I'll test again. It's not a big issue for me as I don't like the Resco Today plugin anyway !! :)

swiftblade i am using b249 of bs. according to my observation, its significantly less leaky. imo the other versions tend to leak more.. since its beta stuff guess we can't expect too much.. gotta wait till it reaches shareware stage as chi-tai says it will eventually be. i would suggest not using the software as yet until these issues are resolved :) another alternative may be to use the non beta version.

I asked before but i searched i did not see the answer, but is there a way to change the ACTION SCREEN link on the today page at the bottom right back to a CONTACTS link.

Also what is this PAGEPOOL thing, what benefits is there for keeping it at 4mb, 6mb, 8mb? Is reason to keep it small just to gain more space on the unit? Cause if it is is it not redundant as most people have huge 1 GB plus memory storage cards??? Just wondering I am not to knowlegable on techno lingo but am trying. swiftblade i am using b249 of bs. according to my observation, its significantly less leaky. imo the other versions tend to leak more.. since its beta stuff guess we can't expect too much.. gotta wait till it reaches shareware stage as chi-tai says it will eventually be. i would suggest not using the software as yet until these issues are resolved :) another alternative may be to use the non beta version.

Falgun - Use AdvancedConfig (included in the ROM) to change the softkey assignment.

Pagepool is like swap space on your Windows PC. Smaller pagepool gives you more RAM for running applications. I have tried 4, 6 and 8 MB pagepools and in my opinion 6 MB works the best. With 4 MB, at times my applications would close down, if I had many open at the same time.

yes i've been following the beta versions of battery status and i would say i would just rather use omap scaler and wait till the beta versions have their memory issues fixed.. there is a cpu usage of 4-5% lol add to the inherent leaks in wm6 i lose 1.6mb after 3 days. (after ram reclaimation efforts lol) so in about 7-8 days i gotta to do a reset.

Hi akagi... I think you downloaded the worng application at pocketemu. It should be the HTC Home Customiser (HHC) that you are looking for. Also before installing it, remove HTC Home from Today first.

As to your mess with themes and touch keypad, just unistalled whatever applications you have installed, soft reset and it should return back to its original state.

Don't know if this was mentioned before, but just found out that the Touch Keyboard/Keypad takes up a fair bit of RAM.

Without anything in the background, switched SIPs and found that my RAM dropped from 17.7MB immediately to 15.7MB. Soft-reset and tried again, and lo and behold another drop of between 1.8-2mb of RAM (the added advantage of having RAM Guages on your top bar, thanks to indibar). This memory space is not recoverable.

My Good Lord HTC, what were you thinking? Maybe its really more for the Nike and Kaiser, and all other 128mb RAMmed PPCs. Now more than ever, i'll be disabling this SIP.

Touchpal SIP doesn't take up an ounce more RAM than Keyboard, so there's hope yet :)

Haha.. this is because I have removed the Spanish xT9 dictionary from the rom. Just copy the attached file to the Windows directory, do a soft reset and you should get your spanish dictionary back on.

No, No... the radio is referring to the GSM receiver software used for receiving your phone GSM signal not free-to-air radio channel. Touch had no radio in it.

Touch keyobard/keypad is slower for sure. Throw that out in my next rom update and let user choose their own keyboard.

Hi suckaB.. in v1.21 ROM update package, the CID unlocking is automated in the ROM updating process so you don't have to do a CID unlock first.

Try to do the following steps:

1. Unzip the download v1.21 ROM update file.
2. Activesync your Touch to the PC using USB.
3. When activesync connection is established, go into the directory and double-click on START.bat to start the automated CID unlocking and ROM updating.
4. Follow the instructions on screen and press <ENTER> after Step 1/3 and Step 2/3 and your ROM is updated in a breeze.

If you encountered error during the process, installed the 2 cabs - Cert_SPCS and Enable-Rapi - found in the directory of the downloaded .zip, do a soft reset and repeat Step 2 to Step 4 again.

Yes the TOuch keyboard clashes withthe PCM keyboard. Hope the creator found a way around it. Both Keyboards are quite similar and explain the conflicts.

This is strictly not memory leak but rather memory low because of the programs you are running. Memory leak is like you do nothing to it but the Program memory is losing it slowly. Maybe someone else can explain better..

It appears that you are abit confused. When you are in tri-color screen you are actually in what we called "bootloader" mode and this method of flashing rom is normally done with official HTC roms.

When you are flashing custom roms found in XDA forum for eg. like v.121 rom, you don't activate the bootloader mode but uses USPL CID unlocking first to bypass ID checks and then flash the custom rom. When the screen stay white it is a sign that it has successfully unlock CID and it is good. Leave it connected and flash the rom at this stage should be successful. It actually disconnect from activesync during the flashing. Do not reset the device and comp at this stage.

I hope the explanation give you a better understanding of the flashing process.

If you constantly running heavy program simultaneously, it is advisable to switch to 6Mb pagepool. v1.21 comes with 4Mb pagepool.

1. No significant difference in speed.
2. Edge icon now showing G for GPRS.
3. Fresh install - free memory more than 20MB, but after 10 minutes 13 MB. (Downloaded mail from windows live. Does it go in program memory. ??)

Feedback for the author :

I removed the microSD card, connected the device to my PC via USB.

When the bootloader screen was on the screen, I ran the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and it again gave me the error, error 270 to be specific. But then the Elf went on to boot on my old ROM. I guess it wasn't deleted in the first place. All is fine now. I couldn't upgrade to your ROM but at least I got my device back. :)

Ah, I just figured out that it's pof's CID unlocker that caused the havoc. I just checked the related thread and found out that he didn't write down the instructions properly in his first post. Almost everybody comes up with the same questions because they remain unanswered in the very first page where instructions are given.

memory leak resolved thanks to your advise on batterystatus' Build.
Build 243 seems to be the most memory effiicent.

Higher builds made memory leaks unbearable, within 2 -3 hours, RAM would drop to 4-6mb.

Build 243, for the last 15hours has been good, RAM now hovers at 11.6-12.2MB. And this is after Activesyncing, video viewing and general usage.

Just a question, i don't know if i should be asking here but what the heck :) if all three are based on the same 2.20.707 base, how come the OS versions or builds, even AKUs are different. Yours is correct. Are they typos, or have HTC released variants.

Only way for me to find out is to flash, but quite lazy lah, so here's hoping you or anyone could share some light.

Also Xtrinity is working on trying to get 4 more mb upon flashing (SR?), if i read this post correctly, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341884, will you be doing the same with BTR, if its even possible, coz honestly yours is alot prettier.

Hate to get you stressed out by some more change requests, but these are the wonders of greed, where enough, is never enough is it.

Yes, this has been reported somehow and all the custom rom is facing this problem. Seems to be something that the new ROM code has changed. Still in the process of looking into it and hope to find a solution. You have to bear with it for now...:(

Touch Dual 2.23 ROM : CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 18125.0.4.2)

So the Blue Touch Rom 1.21 has a later version. I find Touch Dual 2.23 a bit laggy (before overclock and additional apps installed).

I am going to flash to Blue Touch Rom 1.21. :)

memory leak resolved thanks to your advise on batterystatus' Build.
Build 243 seems to be the most memory effiicent.

Higher builds made memory leaks unbearable, within 2 -3 hours, RAM would drop to 4-6mb.

Build 243, for the last 15hours has been good, RAM now hovers at 11.6-12.2MB. And this is after Activesyncing, video viewing and general usage.

What a good comparison you have there. As to your question of confusing OS Builds and ROM versions, let first say that there is two parts to a ROM code, one provided by the OEM (HTC in this case) and the other the OS provided by Mircosoft. The 2.20.707.1B is referring to the ROM vesion and CE 5.2.1437 Build 18508 are referring to the Operating System or OS core and build.

Different chefs cook their ROMs differently and the numbers does not mean anything because it can be changed by re-writing the version information without actual changes to the software. I may be wrong but from your comparison chart, it appears that bram_smulders and Xtriny are using the OEM 2.20.707.1B ROM base and OS Build which is:
ROMVersion: 2.20.707.1B WWE
OS Version: CE OS 5.2.1620 Build 18125..0.4.2

Really, only they can tell. I am only guessing here. Myself, I used the 2.20.707.1B OEM rom base and the ported OS Build 18508 from Artemis. I didn't bother to change the version information because it is not significant. Important thing is that it work well..haha:D

For the memory boost as stated in Xtriny, I am also curious of what he has discovered. I am trying to try free memory by loading lesser and optimised resident programs and applications. It's in my TO DO list.:D

Thanks for the superb explanation. So you've ported the os build from the artemis, smart, since the rest are AKU 0.4.2 while yours is 0.7. Maybe that's why your ROMs seem so much faster.

Nice to see how much my Iphone icons are used. But that are not the original ones I made though, only a few icons are mine. If you
