Hi existenz.. HTC Album will be integrated in the next update.

Thanks. Waiting eagerly.

I need more operator information and is there an official rom for Turkey and Egypt where I can extracted it..

I have a RUU file from Turkcell to be used with HTC 4350 for localization. Does this work?

http://www.nurbil.net/P4350/P4350Turkcel.zip

Thanks.

This is a great ROM, but I prefer using the my PCM Keyboard skin rather than the Touch XT9 or "40" keyboard. With this ROM PCM will not display any text. The registry setting to allow PCM to work is:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\ and change the key "XT9SupportMSSip" from value "1" to "0"

This will allow both PCM and touch keyboard to work.

These are the skins I created for PCM Keyboard, if anyone wants to try them:

Hi,
i'm trying to flash the rom.... using SG issued Touch.

I run the start.bat successfully.... runs to step 3/3 succesfully then i get a white screen.

When i soft reset its ok.... but i never got to the RUU, coz when i get the white screen.... my active sync connection is lost.

What should i do? Soft reset and continue by clicking Enter?

thanks

----------------
Please make sure Activesync is enabled (green icon in systray)
and hit ENTER to start...

STEP 1/3......50%......75%....100%

The next step will load a patched bootloader (SPL) on your device
it will make your device temporary SuperCID (seclevel=0), and will
avoid modelID and signature checking when flashing NBH files.

Hit ENTER to continue...

STEP 2/3.....15%.....25%...50%...75%.....100%

Phone screen should now be blank and the activesync icon gray
if not, the loading procedure has failed and you'll have to repeat again.

If all was OK hit ENTER and the standard "PDA Phone ROM Update Utility"
window will start, allowing you to flash patched SPL on your device.

Hit CTRL+C to Cancel or ENTER to continue...

Is this version also have the same Registry Tweaks like v1.0, where Location for My Document, Email and Attachments, Temporay IE Files is change to Storage Card, and Ring Volume is changed.

If not, then can you provide step so that I can change it myself.

Thanks ... Can't wait to install the new ROM to my touch....

Hi wongh_hk,
No, the Registry Tweaks in v1.0 is not in this ROm v2.01 because some users have problem with it when they do frequent SD card swapping. You can add following registry keys yourself using Regedit included in the ROM:

IE Files
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders]
"History"="\\Storage Card\\Temp\\History"
"Cookies"="\\Storage Card\\Temp\\Cookies"
"Cache"="\\Storage Card\\cacheie"

For My Documents
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services]
"FileSyncPath"="\\Storage Card\\My Documents"

For Email & Attachments
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Inbox\Settings]
"PropertyPath"="\\Storage Card\\Mail"
"AttachPath"="\\Storage Card\\Mail\\Attachments"

Just Flash the ROM and there is No Problem during the process. And when the screen become white should be the result of Step 2, and if you see the white screen that mean you are on the right track. The link is not lost it still there just hit Enter and you should see the RUU start and just follow the step through and there you are ...

This is a custom rom for HTC Touch (Elf) only. You can't install it to your Wizard. Luckily the installation wasn't successful or else you could have "bricked" your Wizard. For wizard custom rom, go to the wizard section..:o

heya swiftblade, God bless you for this version man.

This in my opinion is the first good big storage implementation of the 2.20 rom.

Now i really boot up with 21.5mb. And it hovers to 20mb. i don't know if this is due to the lack of the touch keypad, but seriously, thank you.

This is probably due to the absence of Touch Keyboard and the new build. Core OS 5.2.1933 appears to have low memory leak too.

What is your assessment of the speed of this rom? Is it better than my first version or v1.0? Cheers

Edited: Just wanted to add that I didn't implement the high 29 Mb program memory as it is done by tweaking the glyphcache, file system cache and file system filter cache which dramatically reduced the performance of the device. If you want to try, you can just reduce the glyphcache to 4mb from 8Mb and you can get about 29Mb+ program memory.

V 2.01 is great!! VERY fast and stable. Thank you for removing the HTC Touch keyboard/keypad.

The only problems I am having is with the date display and internet connection.

On the home plug, it displays the date in DD/MM/YY. Even after I go into Regional settings, make sure the region is set to English (United States), the date is set to M/d/yy and restart. For some reason this setting does not match the date setting in "clock & alarms". On all my other devices (ROMs) these two settings match. Ideas?

Having flashed ROMs on my devices more times than I can count, I am very familiar with the settings I need to reload for GPRS/EDGE. For some reason I can't get active sync or IE to connect. But with the same settings I can get weather to download correctly, so I am a little confused as to what could be the problem. I had this problem with the previous version, but considering I only had it running for 2 days before flashing to v 2.01 I was thinking it would be fixed in the new ROM. Ideas?

And the HTC Home isn't replaced the Default HTCHome in this build is the original 2.10 version that allready has 6 tabs. And it should also have Schenn's HTC TAB options integrated into Today Settings.

Both the normal Notes and Office OneNoteMobile are included in v2.01. And yes, I do use all my own cooked ROMs and since I have only one Touch, I have to choose which versions to use. I prefer the vanilla version and version 1.1 because it allow me more leeway to configure the device my own way but now I'm defintely using v2.01 as indicated in my signature :D :D

After setting the region to English (United State) you need to enable Time Zone autoupdate and do a soft reset to get it synchronise.

Go Start-->Settings-->Phone-->Time Zone-->Enable Automatic change time zone and clock

If you can get weather updates then your IE connection should be fine unless you are talking about IE connection through activesync. For activesync, you might want to disable advanced network functionality ans see whether it works.

Go Start-->Settings-->Connection-->USB to PC-->Disable Advanced Network Functionality

1. the V2.01 BLUE TOUCH ROM 2.20
2. the Blue Touch ROM 2.20.707.1B WWE Version 1.21
3. or the NEW TOUCH BLACK & BLUE WWE ROM v1.0 (over 700 downloads)
I mainly use my HTC touch for emails and internet.
Are the dowload links on the first page of this forum thread the most up-to-date?

The 2.01 has problem, I flashed it, no problem, installed all apps that I was using ever since 1.0, no problem, but when everything is settled, I was testing everything, and found out the Home - Favorite People cannot hold any changes after a soft reset, I tried many times and still no luck, so although this ROM is so cool, I just have to go back to the 1.1 which is just as good.

Just double-click on <START> batch-file and follow through the instructions and it will have your new ROM updated."

Just wanted to make sure, does this mean that I don't have to CID unlock my touch before flashing the ROM? Just making sure as this will be my 1st attempt at flashing a ROM

I didn't have that problem. Maybe it's your backlight setting as your pressing of camera suggested that. Check and make sure the setting is not at the lowest... Post here if you still have that problem...

Display switch is for shutting the screen without using power button.

As for action screen, if after activating it and you do nothing for a few seconds, it will automatically close it. It is normal.

Hi, Swiftblade :-)

Yesterday I've flahed BTR 2.01 and I've problem with it. When my device turns off or i press Power button..display turns off - all is ok...but i can't turn it on by pressing power button..only by combination camera+power...how to fix it?

PS: Thanks for your hard work. Yours BTR is more better than Touch Dual 2.52 :)

I have this issue this morning too, where i can't turn on the device by pressing the power button. Had to soft reset. My backlight was dimmed totally when i plugged in the charger and if i don't go to 'settings-system-backlight' and adjust back the backlight immediately, i won't be able to power on the device once it goes to sleep. I'm not sure whether it's the ROM's issue or PhoneAlarm's. I've upgraded PhoneAlarm to the latest version(v1.62.2) and so far so good...

If you want to try, you can just reduce the glyphcache to 4mb from 8Mb and you can get about 29Mb+ program memory.

heya bro, i guessed as much that the font glyph (16MB) and the file cache was not changed when after installing quite a fair bit of applications and i din feel the need to switch on the overclocking.

it was a joy to reinstall and reset everything as they were (must admit that this could be because of lots of practise :).

Don't intend to touch the glyph or other mem tweaks now as am happy with the available ram, so thus i don't see the need to compromise the speed.

As for 1.0, i think that this is faster, but not the improvement is not that visible.

with regards to phonealarm, this is a known issue.
what i've done is to use this lnk which you can put in \windows\start menu\
and tie it up to a hardware button (or use ae button plus and make full use of the extra buttons).

in the event i face this issue, i get direct access to backlight with the flick of a button. and in the blind, i just need to press the dpad to the right once or twice to get back the backlight.

That being said, i have yet to have this issue with 1.62.2, although in the developer's changelog, no mention of this issue having existed or resolved

Hi voddie... just added a mirror download link at the 1st post. Go download and enjoy!

Thanks man. I am using your rom now. so far so good. faster than pdaviet 19B.

3 minor issues found so far.

1. launch camera album from touch cube will launch both windows picture viewer and camera album together. most of the time, the default windows pic viewer is at the front layer, as a result, have to close the pic viewer to see the camera album.

2. Closing camera album (by pressing the X button of camera album -- upper right corner) only minimise the application. Have to go to task manager and close it manually

3. camera album is in landscape mode. any way to launch it in potrait mode?

Thanks

Dear Swiftblade,

First of all thank you very much for your effort and support.

I have just flashed your new 2.01 ROM to my Touch. Everything seems to work fine up to now, except for one thing, the GPRS connection.
When I try to establish a GPRS connection a pop-up window splashes and tells me to fill in the login and psw to the APN. It seems logical unless I have made it beforehand when configuring default GPRS connection. I have verified the login and the PSW with the operator, it is correct, but my Touch does not want to connect to the point.

I would really appreciate if you and anyone could help me solve this issue, cause GPRS is a constant need for my work.

I rely upon you a lot.
Thank you once again for what you do.
TIA.

For 1 - Same happens with me. Trying to find a solution.

For 2 - Navigate to HKLM >> Software >> HTCAlbum. Change the value of the key 'ok_minimize' from 1 to 0.

For 3 - There is a command line switch for it. I'll find and let you know.

Have you manually runs the Network Wizard to configure your GPRS?
Go Start-->Settings-->Connection-->Network Wizard-->Choose operator

After it, your GPRS connection should be automatic.

Hi maassk213.. thanks for all the helps to find solutions to the cube launch problems in the rom. With some kind helps from bram_smulders, I am able to resolve the three issues. Two of them have been rightly found and pointed out by you yourself... Thanks.:D :D The last issue of opening two programs when launching "Photo" or "Video" need a patched Mediahubmini.exe from fatattitude's Touch Settings apps.

To save the people all the troubles, I will loaded up v2.10 when I get home in an hour's time. v2.10 also fixes some other small bugs...

This reg tweak is only effective if you're launching the HTC album from the cube. You can also apply the same tweak for HLKM >> Software >> HTC >> Biotouch >> MediaHubMini >> App1_3 in order to have HTC album in portrait mode when you press "videos" button.

However; if you are launching the album with the shortcut in programs, it will still run in landscape. I recall that Noonski had a solution for this one with a seperate shortcut for each mode.

The easiest way to solve bug 1 is to install touch setting. by installing "touch setting", it overwrites current mediahubmini.exe in windows folder. This solves the problem at my end

But if you are calling it from the shortcut, can't you just simply add the param behind the .exe and make it run in portrait mode? I did and it works.

Hey guys, Version 2.10 is uploaded. You can download it from the download link in the first post.

What Changes:
1. Fixed the HTC Album launching from the cube probelms.
2. Use back former iphone icons for HTC Home.
3. Change HTC Home to OEM Touch HTC Home 2.10 (Music can now be played directly from HTC Home Music Tab without opening Audio Manager apps after the music library is compiled)

Still Outstanding:
Favourite people (Contacts) problems. The contacts are still linked... ARRRGHH:(

I suppose that it will take up lesser memory at runtime if the music was playing just from the tab without loading the media application.

This is the same problem I am having. My US carrier is not listed in network settings, so that is not an option for me. As I said in post #535 I can get weather to update via GPRS, but internet explorer and active sync will not connect. I don't have any MMS settings loaded, so that should not be the issue. I have gone into settings/connections/advanced(tab)/select networks and made sure both are set to "my isp". Very strange why weather connects but other programs don't.

When i soft reset its ok.... but i never got to the RUU, coz when i get the white screen.... my active sync connection is lost.

Had the same thing. However you actually need the white screen for it to work, otherwise you get the 270 error, as far as I could tell.
In any case, once the screen goes white, Windows apparently needs to re-install some of the USB drivers or something, I'm not sure. Once this completes though, the update works fine. At least, it did for me.
Just hit enter, don't soft reset. If there is a connection problem the update utility will give you a 260 connection error. If that happens you can always soft-reset, no harm done.

what is the difference between a soft and hard reset thanks

soft reset just reboots the device.

hard reset erases all your memory and sets everything to when you last flashed it (or to when first turned it on after buying it)
so if you do a hard reset, make sure you got the data you need backed up

I'm using vista on my main pc (and considering to go back to xp)

the usb drivers on vista are really crap imo.
so to be safe, i used my laptop which runs xp, so i'd recommend using xp.

Hi SwiftBlade...I'm back.

Around 24 hrs. of running the v2.01. Things seem very stable. I decided to leave the IE cache on Memory instead of card (on card, IE starts behaving sluggish).

I had booted at 25MB free. Have not rebooted since the last 18 hrs., regular usage and the free memory hovers around 21-22 MB. Oxios Hibernate does not release any more memory now. I'm not sure if this indicates some leak. Will continue testing and report if anything.

The ROM sure responds faster than any others I have tried, even with multiple applications open. Earlier, with IE open and TCPMP (streaming) simultaneously, brought the device to a grinding halt. Now the device is responsive.

Anything on the cab for the OEM HTC Home 2.10?

Cheers....

You'd have to create the folder where you want the cache to be on your storage card, before assigning the path in Advanced Config. Make a folder like 'cacheie' or something and then try assigning the path. Advanced Config probably does not create folders by itself.

I had flush the new v2.10 rom, everything work find except when I tried to save the changes I made in Advanced Configure, it propmt me a error and uable to save the changes that I had made. The error seem is DirectoryNotFoundException ...

Any idea that I had done wrong, I had based on your instruction to change the IE Cache to Storage Card.

I had also change the location of My Documents and Mail Attachments to Storage Card, but I am unable to do a sync with PC, so I take out the My Documents and Mail Attachment key from registry. And the Sync back to normal.

Now, please help with my the Advanced Configuration problems, PLEASE HELP:(

Thanks, anyway your ROM is stable and truely fast and I love it a lot.

Hi wongh_hk... maassk213's reply is right to the point. Your problem is the directory your put in the registry is not found in your SD and thus the error from Advanced Configuration Tool. Same thing to your mails and attachment. Those directory you pointed in the registry must be created in the storage card.

Cheers....

Hi maassk213... Good feedback on the rom. As for the cab for the OEM HTC home, I haven't forgotten. Abit busy with my works right now but I will work it the moment I have some spare time. Cheers.

Hi Swiftblade
flashed you new rom and really like it
two questions...
first: what do you mean with 'Music can now be played directly from HTC Home Music Tab without opening Audio Manager apps after the music library is compiled' i still have to open the audio manager in the tap and it stays open in the background....
second: in the fav people in the cube i'm not able to add a whole person with all the numbers just one number of the person... can i change that? i liked having all the numbers...

thanx!!

Hi Ben,

Your first question: you are right to say that the audio manager is playing in the background. It's only look crisp and neat instead of the whole audio manager opening up.

Your 2nd Question: Unfortunately, I don't think it can. I regconise each number as one contact. Still experimenting separating the 2 sets of contact and manage toget favourite people at HTC Home to work but then contacts in cube open to a empty contact selection page... Will shelf this for the moment..:(

In psShutXP, there is 3 options Reset, Turn off and Light Off. Turn off is like display switch and put your device on standby mode. Light off only turn off the backlight, the apps is still running in the background. Actually not much fifferent...:D

Hey Noonski,
Tried your suggestion, didn't work out. I actually got the contacts at HTC Home tab to work but then the contacts in Cube open to a contact selection page with no contact entry inside to select. How do I change it to point to mscontact?

As for scrolling in Random Access, it's still not working and that's way I don't use it in rom.

P.S. Thanks your your earlier hints on the HTC Home....:D

Hi maassk213... Okay finally got the cab for the OEM HTC Home_2_1_10_0s created. Download from installation cab on first page or here: ELF_OEM_HTCHome_2.1.1005722.CAB (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=58451&stc=1&d=1195263784). You must disable the HTC Home from Today before you install the new OEM HTC Home.

Be warned that you need though that your nice iphone HTCHome icons will be changed to the original ones. If you want them back, go to Windows directory and delete all the HH_XXXX files and do a soft reset.

Cheers... Swiftblade

Thanks Swiftblade. Installed the cab. Was not too worried about the icons, but rather the 'transparent background'. Rebooted. New Home plugin came up (with original icons as you mentioned).

Tried the Music tab. It invokes the Audio Manager and sends it to the background by itself. A little nicer to operate the function and I don't have to manually minimize the Audio Manager. Memory usage is the same (obviously). However, after closing Audio Manager, the released memory is a little lesser than it should be (~500k lesser or maybe I am just imagining it!) as compared to with the earlier HTC Home.

Bigger problem was that I could not use the HTC Home Customizer to change the background, clock font and icons anymore! :( Maybe some icon paths have changed, but HHC says 'cannot find location' or something along those lines.

Sad - have reverted back to the initial Home plugin. I'd have loved the functionality (although minor)....but the clock font and the transparent background (using lovely wallpaper) is more important to me ;)

Thanks anyways!

Thought of that option already :). Will be back with my results in 15 minutes.

On another note - What does 'startclean' really do? Is it similar to what 'ClearTemp' application would do? If yes, I'd like to take it off the startup apps list. It add a good 10 seconds to my startup.

No, startclean gives you a clean start menu after a soft reset. You can take it off by removing the startclean.lnk from the Windows|\StartUp directory if you so wishes.

Tried reinstalling HHC. Does not work, says 'An error occurred while copying background' etc. No big deal though. I'll find the workaround. Meanwhile I am back to my initial Home plugin. Will experiment later when I am off work.

Took off 'startclean'. 'Cleartemp' allows me to remove the recently used programs list. I'm using 'QuickMenu' and that has 'Recent' as a seperate sub-item in the list. So I am OK there.

Are there any other tweaks/ bugfixes in v2.10 that should prompt me to upgrade?

Seems that HTC X Button apps doesn't close a number of programs like Comm Manager, HTC Album, etc. You may want to try out the of Batterystatus's Task Manager if you are using the program. Work better IMHO.

There is no need for that. Noonski had already clean up and released a vanilla OS 1933 based rom (Courtesy by Xtriny) based on 2.20 WWE for purpose of cooking in his "Cooking Class Start Here" thread. Plough through the thread for it. If my memory serves me right, it should be at Post#191.

Faisals - Swiftblade is right. Some applications like the Comm Manager do not really close and keep running. I was using pBar to control that earlier. Now I use the Tasks list in QuickMenu to close such apps. A nice feature in QuickMenu also closes ActiveSync automatically after a connection is terminated.

Swiftblade - I'm going to replace the DLL and see if that works. Thanks

Maybe I should change my name to 'tweak freak' :D. It helps when you are running Windows 2K3 server in a VirtualBox on Debian with 128MB RAM allocated to it. Tweaking is absolutely a must ;)

Anyways, on the DLL -The DLL version is the same as the current I have. I replaced it anyways. the functionality (of the Audio Manager going into the background) cannot be achieved. Thanks for trying though :). Don't worry, I'll hunt for the solution!

Hi,
I tried to close all the applications from x menu drop down list and then checked the running programs list which is empty. Memory still hover around 16MB.
Nothing new is installed.
I just checked the mem status and it shows 14MB free. Running programs list include activesync, comm manager and internet sharing. I just stopped comm manager and now free mem is 14.6 MB. Using stop all did not change any thing. Stange....

After soft reset mem status is 23MB.
ANybody else having same issue or should I reinstall the rom.
Will check tonight again and let you know.

I really have no luck in trying to download and try out your ROM.
Remember I mention it take 3 - 6 hours to download from dl.free.fr
as shown:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v341/cybertech/download.jpg
If can complete still ok, but always break after certain times.

And from RapidShare, either it always show need to wait 90+ minutes
or if given a slot, when click download, it always show " Your IP-address
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is already downloading a file. You have to wait until it is
finished" the thing is I don't even see anything downloading.
Give up!!!!!

Cybertech - Most likely you are on a NAT and are sharing your internet connection (maybe on a shared cable modem or something). In this case you would always get the message like the one you are getting from RapidShare.

I have done some explainations on the issues of ROM, OS and Build versions in a earlier post HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1650621&postcount=454).

Ahh, good information.
About the memory issue; it's the cube & its related resources that takes up memory.
I'm cooking my own ROM without the cube, and the RAM available difference between the first run (right after the hardreset) and the second one after a softreset is down to about 800K.
Without the cube and after the first softreset, I end up with about 30.5MB of free RAM with a 4MB PP. Given I hardly ever use the cube (contacts only, and I can find good replacements for that) plus the fact the cube always spawns when I do games or such things, I don't have use for it.

This is great, another cook has been born. Maybe I can consider early retirement now...;)

And yes, TouchFlo (the Cube) is hogging alot of memory and not many people frequently use it or use it at all. It's more an eye candy. If you disable the Cube and want to use the favourite people tab in Home plug-in, replace the "Quickdial.exe" with the one from 1.17 ROM and it should works.

I don't use the HTC home plugin either ;)
SPB mobile shell rules! Well, it takes a lot of RAM too, but hey it brings a lot of things too !

I did my ROM to have exactly what I want in it: the kitchen tools are available, people are kind enough to provide for bases that can be properly extracted & recooked. Removing stuff is way easier than adding, so I took the matter in my own hands.

I don't agree on that. Removing everything clean. Means DSM files need to be rebuild and that again means that Dll files in Module folder need to be cooked as actuall dll's to this with the wrong dll's and drivers stop working. Also you have to be very carefull in the size of the rom.

BTW i found some other new ways to free up memory which i'm testing.

hi, anyone know if there is anyway to override file explorer to delete useless windows files or uninstall programs like msn messenger or adobe reader LE or move office mobile to the storage card. These would presumably save some storage space right? memory resources is SERIOUSLY lacking in the elf :(

Well I'm not going to argue on the "right way to do it", you are most probably right. I didn't care about the DSM at all, I don't know what they are for and how to edit them (yes, I'm still learning).

But in the end the ROM I cooked with the files I removed is still working well. I only touched the HTC oem folder, I don't believe there is anything critical there (the HTC exe & dlls might be dependent on the OS dlls, but not the other way around).

What would be the side effects of removing files without editing the DSM?
That discussion should go to the cooking thread maybe :)

Hi,
after flashing and also having run the Network Wizard I can't connect Data using my XL Com (Indonesia) SIM Card.
I am always asked to input the Password in Order to logon to the Server - although the Password I input is correct!
Tried it also manually, but: same result.
When trying the same with a Telkomsel (Indonesia) SIM Card or with a SingTel (Singapore) SIM - no problems at all to connect.
There is sure nothing wrong with the XL Com SIM (as I tried it in other Phones)...so:whats wrong with the ROM?
Any ideas how to resolve this issue?
Thanks a lot in advance..

Hi Swiftblade,

I very much appreciate your tremendous efforts to make your ROM better and better everyday. So far, it is the fastest and most reliable ROM I've used. Good job. Thanx a lot.

Just one question : How can I go back to the original HTC Home icons? I tried the HTC Home cab file you posted but it gave an error that the program or settings couldn't be installed. What did I do wrong? Please help.

I just flashed the version 2.10 and it seemed like slower than the 2.01.

Is there a reason for it? It is very laggy compared to 2.01.

I did a hard reset after flashing. Screen showed up quite slow and execution of every screen had a long pause to it. It is empty with nothing installed!!

Hi existenz... before you installed the OEM HTC Home posted at the first post over the one installed on the rom, do the following steps:

1. Disable the HTC Home plug from Today first. Go Start-->Settings-->Today-->Items-->Uncheck HTC Home.
2. To be safe, do a soft reset.
3. Now you can installed the the new OEM HTC Home.

Hey jychan28... I have installed both the v2.01 and v2.10 and the speed is similar. The only changes made was replacing the MediaHubMini.exe with a patched one to get the cube the launch camera album properly. Maybe it's a bad flash. You may want to re-flash and see is it better. These things do happen 1 out of 50 flashes.

I did notice that during the initial start-up for both versions, there is a slack while the system is initiating and subsequently should be very fast.

Cheers...

Hey somchai15... it probably the network wizard had set the GPRS Authentication Mode for XL Com wrongly. Try to change the registry value of "NDISGPRSAuthenticationMode" from 2 to 1 or 0 under[HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\XXXXXXXX\Connections\X L Com (GPRS)]

Hope it works for you. Cheers...

Moving Office to storage Card is not possible it gives errors opening Files.
Same for MSN it won't let you log in.
But Adobe reader..... I have a package for that.

Let's say i download your rom and re extract it.

It will give a large amount of files missing while extracting and sometime the extracting process won't put them in the correct folders.

But for regular cooking that is not something important. But making vanilla the rom will always be reextracted. So it helps out cooks not to have files in the wrong places and getting confusing errors.

Not very clear what you want to change. I guess you wanted the original dialpad. If that's is what you want, you can use the Advanced Configuration Tools in Accessories to do that:

Go Start-->Program-->Accessories-->Advanced Configuration Tool-->Phone Tab-->Uncheck "Show video dialer"-->Click "Done"

Device will reset and you will get back your original dialpad.. Cheers

No, not exactly what I meant.

1. I want to change the dialpad which comes when you first started your phone where it is asked to enter the pin for the sim card back to the original HTC one.

2. I also want to change the icons near the each call log item indicating which type they are; missed, coming call or outgoing call.

Are these possible?

Okay I think I am abit clearer what you are asking.

Question 1: You are referring to the original Network Wizard that auto-start configuration each time you inserted a new sim card. I have the cab which I attach here. Install it and it will auto-start configuration.

Question 2: Call type icon only show in the original dialpad but not the video dialpad. You revert back to the original dialpad as instructions given in the earlier post and see is that what you want.

Well, not what I wanted. :o So sorry.

Let me put it this way;

You soft-resetted your Touch. When it starts again you will first see htc logo and then microsoft mobile splash screen, finally you will see a dialpad and there will be some text up indicating you to enter your pin no. That is the dialpad I want to change. I don't want those seperate shinny buttons but I want to have the dialpad which comes with the OEM ROM.

The other one is the call log icons. When you start call log app, there are the calls you received, you made and missed on the right side, right? And on the left, there are corresponding icons (shinny again) indicating what type they are. These are the icons I want to revert to ones which come with OEM ROM.

Hope this time it is more clearer. :) Sorry once again.

It can be replaced but you then need to resign the dll.

It is the memory leak that we are talking caused by both the OS and battery status. Batterystatus Build 243 is the most memory efficient but memory leak is still present. The OS will caused memory leak bet'n 1.5~2M per day without reset.

There is such a today plug-in available if you search the forum butI think is a waste of resources as the blue flashing light will already tell you that BT is on.

First of all congrats on your successful download and flashing to v2.10. I wouldn't reproduce the display flickers that you are talking about so I assume it is not caused by the rom. It maybe one the today plug-in apps or software you installed that caused it. Cheers..

Swiftblade, v2.10 is indeed faster.. :)

Have not encountered any problems so far except for this..

Comm Manager icon backgrounds seems to be of different shades of grey.
And when I use advance configuration to change icons to 8 instead of 10, it's not only the colours but the alignments that are giving the problems.
See the attached pics for better understanding..

Hey CJ... haha you have over-abused the advanced configuration tool to alter the sequence of apps and changing it into 8-buttions. This is because the graphics files are numbered accordingly and sized to 10 buttons. It should look like this screenshot below which is taken from my device.

Change the sequence back to the one shown in the screenshot and it should be alright... Cheers

Hey somchai... first of all, has your network problems resolved?

Now come to pictures problem. The "Photos" should launch the Storage Card\DCIM\100MEDIA directory where you stored your pictures. I think when you installed Spd Insight, it have altered the default directory. Uninstall spd insight and see whether you get back your pictures. If that's true then we have to do a registry tweaks if you still want to install spd insight. Cheers.

Actually, what I really want is to have all the home plugin & other graphics same as the original HTC ROM with your 2.10 ROM apps, Pagepool, storage, RAM and etc. I suppose there may be other people that will appreciate this type of custom ROM too. But, since I know that you're busy of studying on your ROM to make it even better than ever, I simply couldn't ask it before. :o If you say I can't, that is fine. I will stick to your ROM anyway. I saw yr suggested changes for the Network issue but was too lazy to switch over SIM Cards until now...hehe...but am sure that yr tweks will solve the issue (seems to be an issue with the new ROM..as with the orig Touch ROM I have no problem...)
I un-installed Spb Insight....now it shows me all the Pics I have on the Storage Card (incl Album Pics fm iPhone Artworks) = something I also don't want!
All I want is that it shows me the Pics which I have in 100 MEDIA resp the Video's I have in the My Videos Folder on the SD card.

I have some mix feeling on the new rom ( v2.10 ). I feel it is much slower than v1.21. I keep seeing the "hour" turning on the "home" page. I don't see that while I was using v1.21.

Anyhow, I will keep a look out for any new update ROM.

Question: How you manage to update the Radio to 03.97.90?? I am still on 2.97.9 ...

Download from RARHOST - If anyone is having problems about being returned to enter the keycode over and over again, please make sure that scripting is enabled in your browser (esp. if using noscript plugin with Firefox).

About BatteryStatus and memory leak - Its true that the OS leaks memory...but BatteryStatus makes it look worse in my opinion. Frankly, I was using the app to overclock for a more responsive Touch. But with this ROM, I've not had the need to overclock. It is responsive in itself.

For records - I've not rebooted since the last 72 hours now and my free memory is at 21.3 MB - normal usage (calls, music, video, browsing, email), one power recharge.

I'm happy :)

hi iceggy... shouldn't be so. v2.10 is definitely faster than v1.21. You may want to try to re-flash it. I am using v2.10 and I don't have to overclock it with batterystatus and it fast enough.

Updating to radio need another flash with the radio. Someone put up 3.97.90 radio in this forum. Do a search for it and flash it to update your radio. Cheers

Hi ngchinlam... Willing as I may, I am afraid I am at my wit's end with this downloading thingy. We are really at the mercy of these file-sharing hosting site unless someone who has plenty of bandwidth and kind enough to mirror it here. So be patient and keep trying.

HINT: The trick I used with Rapidshare is quickly pressing [F5]-->[Enter] repeatly after each failed attempt until I succeed. No Guarantee... of course.. Cheers..

I just flashed my 2 day old Touch with this ROM. I then patched the HTC Home with N2A's to include my city in the weather options. I forgot to backup my phone. The HTC Home now reverted back to the 3-button OEM one and I can now view my city's weather. But I like the new HTC Home with 6 buttons that is included in this ROM. Is there a way to go back to the new 6-button HTC Home and still be able to view my city's weather?

Great work on this ROM btw!

Hey boybi,

If you only want your city in the weather tab, you actually need to replace the HH_0409_Weathercities.xml file, do a soft reset and it should do the trick. Remember to disable the weather auto-update first.

Since you have already installed the N2A HTC Home over the rom's one, this is what you can do:

1. Use Total Commander to make a copy of the HH_0409_Weathercities.xml in the Windows directory of your device now and save it somewhere in the SD card.

2. Uninstalled the N2A HTC home, disable weather auto-update and do a soft reset.

3. Copy back and replace the HH_0409_Weathercities.xml in the Windows Directory and do a soft reset.

You should see your own city now...

Hi Swiftblade,

I got it fix. I flash it with the original HTC ROM first, then, I flash again with your wonderful ROM.

So, far, it has shown really big difference. I can say now that this v2.1 is really fast. :)

Thanks for the wonderful ROM.

I followed your step-by-step guide. The HTC Home is now back to the one that came with this ROM (6-button). But now I can't retrieve the weather data for my city. I think N2A mentioned that he made a patch that would get the data for a particular city from his own server.

If N2A has done it thru' a patch, it's probably a file named Weathercitiies.mui.0409 or maybe HTCHome.mui.04049 or somtheing like that. Look for the file if you can and copy it to the windows directory. If not, you can upload the N2A HTC Home.cab here and I will take a look at it.

Hey linwen... you can choose a different theme tsk file to change the Today background. There are two tsk files, HTC default and HTC_brand and even Greenland Meteor inside this rom.

Go Start-->Settings--Today-->Choose your theme tsk-->Ok

You now got a new theme.

I'm a newbie and am looking to flash this ROM as it looks really good and have had positive feedback so far. My first flash! I've been reading and searching the threads to make sure that i'll do it right. Before i do, are there any newbies too who have flashed this ROM for the first time? Did the automatic CID unlocker give any problems? Some feedback from you guys would surely be appreciated! Thanks in advance! Cheers!

Hey boybi... I had a look at the thread and it seems that the work around involves patching the HTCHome.dll to read the creator's own weather server instead of htcaccweather.com. Unfortunately, the patched HTCHome.dll for the new Touch HTCHome with 6 tabs has not been made. The one you downloaded is the old HTCHome with 3 tabs and that explained why. You probably have to wait or made a formal request in his thread for a patched one for the new Touch HTCHome. Cheers..

Hi,

This rom is really the best I've tested. It has been very well optimized from v1.0 to 2.10, especially memory leaks issue.
Although I think that Activesync does have lots of memory leaks, probably related to my consequent agenda appointments (6 monthes forward). But where with the original rom I have near to 0 ram free, here with 2.10 it's about 10.00Mo, quite nice.

I liked the flower theme of v1.0 not present in v2.10, can you make it available?

Tnx again for your really excellent rom.

Mike

HI,
Its the full version of core player.
Its starts slowly and begins palying htc demo.
Then if asked to scan sd card it freezes. But if it scans individual folders, it performs fine. Can there be any file in the sd card that makes it freeze.

Will try Tcmp to see if it works.

Glad you like it! :) Now I shall come to the strange one... Did I have a "flower" theme in v1.0? I really can't remember it. Maybe is the "green grass" vistaB1 theme. If it is, you can find it in the "Removed ringtones and themes" attached file on 2nd page of this thread. Cheers...

Hey guys, might be a dumb question, but I couldn't find a quick way to change my today screen into the classic htc one or at least a screen with the not so very colourfull icons.

Thanks for this very nice rom update, it speeded up my touch. I came from the default (well the standard touch firmware). This is a big difference! Thanks

Hi faisals... my advice is to use TCPMP (The Coreplayer Pocket Media Player) instead which is designed for PocketPC per se. It runs extremely smooth and I can watch Youtube and Goggles videos direct from Internet without any problems whatsoever.

Hey maassk... Excellent! Just proved that the main culprit of all this memory leaks is (Tada..) BatteryStatus. So dudes, if you don't use skype and do not overclock, leave Batterystatus alone. I have no doubt that BatteryStatus is a great application (I had rely on it for a long time) but for we the Touch users where RAM memory are so precious and scare..... Well the final decision is yours.. Cheers.

I'm using Skype without the need to overclock using BatteryStatus. I have no issues with Skype either.

I was also relying on BatteryStatus for a while (personally - no need and all the recent versions with the eye candy additions, made me lose my interest in the application).

But, its still a personal choice, as SwiftBlade said!

Thanks Swiftblade for looking into the N2A weather patch thread! I've already posted an inquiry about the issue on that thread. Hope N2A can do something about it.

Anyway, in the HTC home plugin, there are 3 indicators for email, sms, & missed calls. Is there a way to change the email to tasks or appointments instead?

Btw, Swiftblade, in the profiles tab of the HTC Home plugin, there are four options: Normal, Silent, Vibrate and Automatic.

What does Automatic mean?

When I set it to Normal, the unit doesn't vibrate even if I set it to Vibrate and ring in the phone settings. I need my phone to vibrate and ring so I would know if someone is calling even in a noisy surroundings. Thanks.
