Swiftblade, are you going to have a go at integrating the iTunes app into your ROM, although I know it will be one mean task linking icons and apps etc., but it would be awesome if it was integrated in?

I have it installed on my Touch and is so cool but just lacks the integration with the HTC Home screen.

I think Firewired is referring to Grumps's iphone UI apps for WM HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1219757&postcount=1)

I have just installed it on my phone and playing with it now. If this is to be included in the rom on top HTCHome or the new HTCPlus, it will bloat the rom quite a bit. Afterall, they have very similar functions. I think alot of ppl like my roms because it is still very original Touch-like but at the same time they are lean and fast with only useful apps added.

Let me take a closer look at it. Quite a lot of work to be done though if it go into the rom. Maybe a total separate rom from Blue Touch ROM.....or maybe it is better to make a cab for ppl who wish to install it on their device and save some memory ...???

When I launch the Camera Album from the cube, it opens in portrait mode, and that's just fine... the problem is when i start sliding from one side to another to change the pic, it only works on the first picture... the next time i try to slide to another pic, it just wants to pan the pic... the options-menu doesn't appear when i click on one pic either...
Fixable?

There is nothing wrong with the Camera Album apps. When you press down too long, it activates pan mode. Go to the help from the menu and read up on how to use it. You need time to get use to it. I'm also learning how to perfect it....:D Your Touch needs alot of TLC to work well...

Thanks Swiftblade for looking into the N2A weather patch thread! I've already posted an inquiry about the issue on that thread. Hope N2A can do something about it.

Anyway, in the HTC home plugin, there are 3 indicators for email, sms, & missed calls. Is there a way to change the email to tasks or appointments instead?

Btw, Swiftblade, in the profiles tab of the HTC Home plugin, there are four options: Normal, Silent, Vibrate and Automatic.

What does Automatic mean?

When I set it to Normal, the unit doesn't vibrate even if I set it to Vibrate and ring in the phone settings. I need my phone to vibrate and ring so I would know if someone is calling even in a noisy surroundings. Thanks.

Hi Swiftblade, you must have missed my posts in the previous page. Thanks ;)

No, I can't find it in registry as it is built inside the .dll. Anyway Tasks and appointments (Calendar) already have separate today plug-ins for easy activation.

Automatic? Don't really know as I don't use it. I think it is linked to the time of the day when you are at work or you are at home and set the appropraite profile accordingly.

I try on my set and the "Vibrate and Ring" phone setting do work. Try it again and make sure profile is set to normal.. Cheers..

Hi, I'm using the NEW V2.10 BLUE TOUCH ROM 2.20 WWE OS 1933 (BUILD 18521) AKU 0.7.0 and it's great!
I wonder if we could have the email and attachments going to the storage card and how. I could set up the attachments going there but the email goes to the messaging folder of the Windows one (main memory).

tks,

Swiftblade,

I've used the last couple of versions of your ROM and I have to add to all those before me and say it is great. This last version seemed to have solved some battery issues I was having and I'm glad to have all the extra room. I have one problem though and I'm not sure if you can help, but I've exhausted every other avenue I can think of.

I had been using Rhapsody to Go prior to flashing my phone and since then, Windows only sees the phone as a smartcard reader and not a phone. Is there a setting you know of to remedy this? MSFT's DRM won't allow you to transfer to a smart card reader, but it will if the card is in a phone.

Like I said, I'm not sure if you know, but I'm hoping someone else might see this and point me in the right direction as well. If I'm missing something obvious, I'm more than happy to get chastised to get this fixed.

Thanks again,

Trane

tks,

To move your emails and attachments to Storage Card, do the following:

1. Use Total Commander to create a "\Storage Card\Email" directory
and a sub-directory "\Storage Card\Email\Attachments"

2. Use PHM RegEdit to create the following registry keys.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Inbox\Settings]
"PropertyPath"="\\Storage Card\\Mail"
"AttachPath"="\\Storage Card\\Mail\\Attachments"

3. Wait for 3~5 mins and do a soft reset.

Cheers...

A general question:
When cooking new ROM's does anything change about the BlueTooth version/way of working?

I'm having some problems connecting it to my bluetooth carkit.

[QUOTE=warenbe;1679765]hi all

i'm in france

Warenbe and someothers (see for ex. pages 56 and 62) -and me now- are very new to this "Rom flashing" thing. I'm afraid to take the step...... but want to.... There are 2 questions, at least, that have not been answered:
1) From p. 62: Is there any "ROM installation for rookies step by step manual"...?

2) From p. 56: "Special Notes: To make it easy for ROM updating, USPL CID Unlocking is incorporated into this ROM update package.
Just double-click on <START> batch-file and follow through the instructions and it will have your new ROM updated."

Just wanted to make sure, does this mean that I don't have to CID unlock my touch before flashing the ROM? Just making sure as this will be my 1st attempt at flashing a ROM" (end quote).

Can someone help us "rookies" by answering these questions?

Thanks! And sorry if I have missed those answers.

Question 1: Not that I know of there is a user manual on this

Question 2: the ROM update made by our wonderful Swiftblade comes with CID unlock. Just have to run the batch file. The batch file will first lauch the CID unlock. After that, it will flash the custom rom.

1. Have you taken the SIM card out? You can keep the SD card, but the SIM card has to be removed. The phone should be in the airplane mode.

2. Your phone has to be switched on and then connected to the USB cable. Wait until there is a succesful connection between the computer and the phone.

3. I usualy open a Command Prompt (a "DOS" window that can be found in the Start/Programs/Acessories/Command Prompt) then change to the directory where I have extracted the zipped ROM and type START.bat. It will automatically start the unlocking tool, and after that RUU. All the time, I just watch the screen and agree with everything I'm asked. :)

Read the pinned topic about the unlocking just to learn more about it before flashing, even though this file does everytning automatically.

This ROM is in WWE version only (World Wide English). You need a french version if you wish your device to have french user interface.

It is based on new version 2.20.707.1B WWE rom by HTC, made for the east asian/australian region, but it has also been "cooked" by Swiftblade, read the first page to see what has been changed by him.

You'll have to set MMS and maybe GPRS manuallu, but it will work on any network, just like the previous ROM.

You will lose the warranty if you remove the original ROM installed by orange France.

Thanks, removing the SIM got me out of bootloader and allowed me to flash to this rom. I should have figured that out on my own, I've flashed wizards, prophets, and jasjars before... thanks again.

Hey Noonski and Queequep,

Thanks for helping to answer some of the queries posted while I'm away. Salute! :) :)

I am really happy with your ROM!

There is no need for the "Battery Status" and overclocking anymore. The performance is satisfactory as it is, with 4MB pagepool and noExtRom my phone seems to be much more responsive. I haven't seen any glitches yet, everyting works just as it should.

Oh yes, selecting a person from the cube doesn't bring up the menu with their telephone number, email and SMS. It just dials the person's phone number immediately. Maybe it can be seen as a glitch, but I like it more this way, because I always expected it to be so: Select someone -> call someone. There are many other ways to send them an SMS or an e-mail.

Yor ROM is great.
Thank you!

Hey Kent, basically if you are living in USA or Europe where your city's weather is not updated by HTC accuweather server, you can just use the cab to patch the HTC Home to update it at N2A server. For more details, refer to the posted thread HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1679548#post1679548).

The next step i perform clear storage (which means hard format), and the folder will not be created again.

Hey Noonski... basically he sort of patched the HTCHome.dll to read from his N2A server instead of the one with HTC. If you are using the Elf OEM HTCHome_2.1.1005722_0s that comes with 2.20.707.1B WWE Rom like I did, you can just use the patch cab for my rom and it will works fine (because it's the same HTCHome.dll). So this patch file is for the original OEM HTCHome_2.1.1005722_0s per se. Cheers..

Hey keith... the folders are created after each hard reset (I suppose you are using v1.1 or v1.0). to prevent it from doing that, you need to perfrom some changes to registry keys.

It did use OS 1933 core in v2.01 and v2.10 but it seems that CE OS 5.2.1921 (Build 18521.0.7.0) is the fastest for AKU 0.7.0 series and stable and so I adopted it and indeed very happy with the results thus far. Cheers..

Hi again,

I am trying several things with the new ROM and it is really fast but it seemed the memory leak is much faster too. Still better than others though.

BTW, I liked quickmenu a lot. Easy to use and lots of options. But, once you have it, psshutXP is kinda unnecessary. Maybe you can consider taking it out in your next version.

Run quickmenu. Press start. You will see quickmenu menu. Press quickmenu, another menu will pop, press option... There goto tab general. Check "replace system's start menu". Press OK. Next time whenever you press start, quickmenu will pop.

Another method is to place quickmenu icon on the top bar. Do the above steps. This time goto view tab in options. Check "show Q on taskbar", press OK. You will see a orange Q on the top bar. Press that, quickmenu will pop.

Whichever you like.;)

Another masterpiece, welldone bro. Thanx.

I can not see any shortcuts in programs>>office mobile. Do you think something went wrong while flashing?

Keep the good work.

Okay something went wrong during the building of the rom. The shortcuts were not copied to the Office folder. They are all presence in the Windows directory. If you want you can just copy the shortcuts to the Office folder and they will work. I am loading up a fixed version that correct these in a few minutes to replace the current one. Will let you guys know when the upload is completed. Cheers...

P.S. Yes the psShutXP is useless but occupy very little bytes so I will leave it as it is.

Hi,

T-mobile Wing can not be flashed with this ROM. It is only for Touches (HTC Touch a.k.a T-Mobile MDA Touch). It is normal that you get an error.

Hi again,

I am trying several things with the new ROM and it is really fast but it seemed the memory leak is much faster too. Still better than others though.

BTW, I liked quickmenu a lot. Easy to use and lots of options. But, once you have it, psshutXP is kinda unnecessary. Maybe you can consider taking it out in your next version.

regards,

Hi existenz... the memory leak seems to come from QUick Menu unfortunately. If you remove it from auto-start up, the situation get abit better.

The fixed ROM version V3.01 has been loaded up to replace the download links at RapidShare and FileFactory. The file name was not changed but you should be getting the updated and fixed version from this moment onwards.. Discard your older version 3.01 if you wish or to avoid confusion.. Cheers.

I am still using your previous version (2.10) with only one change: I have installed ELF_OEM_HTCHome_2.1.1005722.cab to switch back to default HTC icons and colours. Your new theme and the iphone look are cool, but I'm just used to the old looks.

Is it possible to switch to default HTC colours and icons in v3.01? Should I just install ELF_OEM_HTCHome_2.1.1005722.cab as I did in v2.10?

Thanks in advance,

Outlook Email will only show up after you activesync with your PC or Laptop or you set up an email account. OneNote Mobile is not included in this rom.

Actually, the HTCHome installed in the rom is the same OEM HTChome posted as a cab with some icons changes to have its current look. You need not installed the whole cab over again. Just need to copy the icons over will do the trick. Let me get the icon files and zipped it for you later. Cheers..

Yes, there is some problem with phone settings tabs after you run Network Wizard. The setting tabs should be |Phone|Services|Network|PIN2|Time Zone|More|.

I have made a Phonesettings_Fix.Cab and attached below for download. Do the following and the Phonesettings Tabs will be restored:

1. Set our device/phone to "Flight" mode.
2. Copy the Phonesettings_Fix.CAB to your SD Card.

Usually I flash the rom with the SD card intact and I have no problems with that at all. But I heard that with SD and SDHC cards of higher memory such as 4GB, 6GB and 8GB do pose problems during rom updating and it could be advisable to remove them using flashing..

To do a radio version upgrade, you need to flash a radio rom like you did for rom update. There is new 3.09.07 Radio in this forum. Go search for it if you want to upgrade. Whether it's worth it or not is very subjective and you got to decide for yourself. Cheers...

It would be very nice having a ROM without some applications so I could customize it by my self.
I don't like Quickmenu and I prefer the simple HTC Task Manager 2 instead.

Voice Speed Dial 1.2, Window Live Messenger and Transcriber are applications that a lot of people don't use. It's just my opinion and I think you could free more storage memory and let the user customize it by him self.

Now.. Now.. Don't be greedy pals! The 58.41Mb Big Storage Memory in this rom is already as good as any vanilla rom around. Although you can't uninstalled apps built in the rom, you can just de-activate them and keep them dormant.

If you want really want to customise, you can try the base rom posted by Noonski in his "Cooking Class Starts Now" thread that have been stripped to the bone. Cheers...

Yes,just do the activesync change pagepool patch and you can have your desired pagepool. Cheers..Ok, thanks :)

What is the program that you have put in startup? When it starts it lags a bit, then an X comes in the home screen like some program is running and then it goes back to normal..

Now..

Cheers...

Oh! Sorry to get you wrong, it is not about the size, it is just when I not using Voice Speed Dialing at all. And it is very easy to activate it when I press the recieve button on my BT headset. And each time I had to close it. HA!HA!

But anyway, this is a great rom....
Thanks. :) :) :D

Hey daverage... Go Start-->Settings-->Personal-->Phone and the the setting tabs below. If you have |Phone|Services|Network|PIN2|Time Zone|More| then you are OK. If you only see the first 3 tabs then you have the bug. Just follow the instructions to install the phonesettings_fix.cab and you should get back the 6 tabs... Cheers

By the way, I just flush the new rom, and I had one problem. Hey somchai15... it probably the network wizard had set the GPRS Authentication Mode for XL Com wrongly. Try to change the registry value of "NDISGPRSAuthenticationMode" from 2 to 1 or 0 under[HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\XXXXXXXX\Connections\X L Com (GPRS)]

Hi all - to Swiftblade a BIG THX! All went fine, downloading installing working... very good job.
Looking through my 'usual tasks' I do find some strange things - not that someone should work on them, they're just... surpising. And IFF someone knows which registry buttons I'll have to tweak - THX. And here u go:

a) Incoming email normally shows the 'contacts picture', IFF there's one, and that worked up to now. This ROM however puts the picture far far out to the right, so that there's only a small line of it visible on top/right of an incoming email.
b) Incoming SMS however display this picture with no problems at all... BUT here the text size when reading an SMS is 'std', too big for me and I usually change it to 'smaller'... BUT NOW there's an inactive 'view' in 'menu' - text size remains 'std'. Funny, because the 'SMS Inbox' overview DOES use this SMALL font... AND reading email DOES use small font, the email box ALLOWS to change it via 'menu/view'.

As I said, no big deal, don't rush back to the cooking machine ;-)) BUT if some kind soul knows where the correspondig reg-entries are...

Thanks, again. BIG ROM!

1st of all sorry for my english :(

Swiftblade, great job! But i have few questions:

1. What you did with touch flo? I can scroll files by 'grab and scroll' (in file explorer for example) only by finger with too high pressed on screen.. with stylus i cant do this.. ill try to change 'fingerPressure' and something else in registry.. but :(
In opera 8.65 i have no problems with it.. only in OS. Scrollbars works correctly. Please fix it, or say how i can..

What is smart dialing you guys are talking about. If you are talking about "Speed Dial" then I have checked and it's working. If not, please try to install the Phonesettings_Fix.CAB attached on the first page.

As for scrolling in file explorer with thumb or stylus, it works fine with my device. You don't have to press so hard, just lightly and it should work fine. Cheers..

Hi wonh_hk... today's theme works fine. no problem at all. Did you relocate your files to SD and took out SD recently. Check whether you have Storage Card 2 directory in you Storage Card. If answer is yes to any of the above questions, then you a SD re-location problem. Delete Storage Card 2, do a soft reset and it whoulc works.

As for speed voice dial, it should be dormant if you have not touched it. Go into the apps and de-activate all the voice tags and application associations and see whether it works.

Swiftblade, look at the manual (http://www.htc.com/support/pdf/htctouch/070522_Elf_HTCTouch_English_Manual.pdf), page 59-61.

You see, I sometimes use the Touch to make phone calls ;) and this feature is critical, as there're about 300 contacts in my phonebook.
Now I can't set up it's options, can't see the dialed number, can't change the dialed number (mobile, work, home, etc.) by pressing <- or ->.

I followed the instruction in "Instructions on how to Update ROM.txt", Step 1/2 and 2/3 passed successfully, but after the ROMUpdateUtility.exe started, it gave an "invalid vender id" error. I tried over 5 times on different computers(all running WinXP SP2), and each time, it gave the same message. So I studied the start.bat and found this cmd:

ren Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.nbh Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.n

I went into the directory and executed the cmd manually, but the system prompted: "The syntax of the command is incorrect." It seems that the cmd should be like this:

ren "Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.nbh" "Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.n".

ruu.bat in the RUU directory has the same problem.
How can you guys successfully flash the ROM with the errors in the batch files?

Hit ENTER to quit.

I know that since so many people flashed this ROM successfully, it may be my problem that causes it to fail. But if you study the batch output listed above, you'll find something really strange:
start.bat switches the file extension of "ELF_USPL_v1.n" and "Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.nbh" then starts pof's elf-uspl, elf-uspl.exe performs 1/3 and 2/2, then it calls "ruu.bat", ruu.bat switches the file extension of ELF_USPL_v1.nbh" and "Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.n" again and then calls ROMUpdateUtility.exe. So, if the cmds are executed successfully, before ROMUpdateUtility.exe is executed, the file extensions of "ELF_USPL_v1.n" and "Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.nbh" are not changed at all! Why perform those useless steps?

Hey happian... it is not useless steps but absolutely necessary steps as bbsc had pointed out that I wanted only one and the correct *nbh file in the folder.

This is because ROMUpdateUtility.exe picks up any file with .NBH extension when it is executed. In the 1st instance, I only wanted to do a USPL CID unlock and later part I wanted it to carry out the ROM update. The steps are also necessary to set back the files ready for the next flash when it is needed.

happian... you problem lies with your "vendor ID" which in most instances are related to SIM locked device. Thousands have flashed my roms starting from v1.20 using those batch files successfully without any doubts.

wbr, bbsc.

Hey bbsc, the smart dialling feature is working in the rom. You problem is that you can't read your contacts from SIM card because you very likely "HIDE' it accidentally when you used the Advanced Configuration Tool.

Quite a simple fix though:

Go Start-->Program-->Accessories-->Advanced Configuration Tool-->Phone Tab-->Enable "Show SIM Contacts-->Click "Done".

It will go into a restart and you will see your SIm contacts now. Cheers...

I started loading the rom on my touch, and it will not load anything past part 2/3...15%

What do I need to do?

-Jason

Hey Jason... you are likely to have a poor USB connection. Try reset your computer and device and repeat the process again.. Good Luck!

after flashing..i cant install nogprs anymore...i get an error message when opening the application
Today 04:04 PM
I have installed the NOGRPS apps on my device without problem. Have you run the network wizard and installed the phonesettings.CAB?

previously used wm5torage on my touch with no problem, this rom says that i can't enter mass storage mode possibly because another program is accessing the storage card, even after a soft reset???
Which rom version are you using? It's not working in V2.10 but is working fine with v3.01.

excellent rom swiftblade!! its really fast and stable so far, i just have some questions:

1) how can i remove the battery application with the rom? because i want to use task manager. when i installed it, the battery icon overlaps with the task manager.

2) when i try to update the splash scree, it says invalid vendor is. i tried installing enablerapi and cert but nothing happened..

thanks and more power!

by the way, i still CANT play videos or pictures unless i copy paste them to the main memory and i dont like that. is there anyway for mo to tun videos and pics from the sd? thanks again!

Question 1: Remove the "QuickMenu.lnk" from the "Windows\Startup" directory and the battery icon will disappear.

Question 2: You need to do a USPL CID unlock first before you do a splash screen update similar to a rom update.

Question 3: You can use the TouchSettings which is included in the Rom V3.01 to configure Cube Video Launcher to run with whichever program and from whatever directory.. Have a nice time viewing your videos on your Elf!

Hey somchai... back to your old problem huh. Have you try to leaving the NDISGPRSAuthenicationMode set value=1?

p.s. After making any registry key changes, always wait for 3~5 minutes before you do a reset for the changes to take effect.

Good Luck!

Hi again,

yup...tried it on 1..tried it on 0..tried it on 2....nothing works!
Also funny: if I use the original ROM (= 1.17...) = no problem at all!
On the Tytn II 9as mentioned) = no problem!
Any ideas?
This is really very very frustrating...

 This works fine by me. I enter some digits and my contact name is on the screen. I can also change the dialed number  Swiftblade, look at the manual (http://www.htc.com/support/pdf/htctouch/070522_Elf_HTCTouch_English_Manual.pdf), page 59-61.

You see, I sometimes use the Touch to make phone calls ;) and this feature is critical, as there're about 300 contacts in my phonebook.
Now I can't set up it's options, can't see the dialed number, can't change the dialed number (mobile, work, home, etc.) by pressing <- or ->.

Phone_settings_fix.cab does not help.

Nevertheless, thank you for the ROM. 2.10 is my favorite one for the time :)
Hope, you'll fix the minor bugs in 3.01.

To made it read pics and vids in your SD, change the parameters to the directory where you store the pics and vids files, e.g. "\Storage Card\My Videos"

The cab for Touch keyboard and keypad works fine but have some know bugs inherent to the apps for example keyboard refuse to open in not editable screens such as Program and some others. It also have a heavy memory payload. The choice is yours really. Cheers

i tried renaming it and using \Storage Card\My Pictures and \Storage Card\Movies, but when i try to access them through the cube it says, "unable to open this type of "JPEG" file. this happens for both pics and vids. am i doing something wrong? :( and when i access videos, it goes to the pics also and not the videos that i saved in the main memory.

Hi Swiftblade, can i suggest something? In the middle of figuring out what else do i need to do in order to get v.3.01 to weork flawlessly (solution to fix reported minor bugs), i have to go through each page of this thread. Is it possible to put some notes at the first page so that those who download the rom know that there are some minor adjustment required to get the rom to work properly, eg. install fix cab, etc. Or else, i believe there is gonna be lots of repeating post asking for solutions to the reported issue.

Just my 2 cents. ;)

Again, excellent work. Thanks for everything

I was wondering where I could get the cab for the Phonepad that came in version 1 of your ROM? Can't find that exact version of the phonepad anywhere.

Also, in the new SMS window, there are both vertical and horizontal scrolling bars even when I havent typed anything. This wasn't so in version 1. Any way to "fix" this?

EDIT: this isnt a problem with ur ROM i guess since when using the default keyboard the bars arent there.. only with the phonepad i've got installed..

You can try to download the file from where I can host files that I save.

I will post the link in the next reply. I am not taking any credit for anything, but this should help at least one poor soul. Let me know.
Also, I have been voyeuring long enough, well long enough to read everything to see what I have and don't have. Love this version Swiftblade works great and is very fast! I have a couple of questions.

1. If I use the HTC cab file to fix the favorites problem, and just if I don't like it, and I uninstall this new one, does my previous version revert back or do I need to reinstall. If so where do I find the one that goes with it? Just in case. :)

As I read things and saw some of the things that weren't working I went to my own settings and checked things out. ALL in all I consider myself pretty lucky. BUT ha ha knew there had to be one of those huh

2. Previous thread talked about WM5torage. It is not working for me either. Have been reading a while, but don't see where anyone has said anything else. Any fixes on that yet?
Thanks in advance..... Great update..thxs ever so much.

Swiftblade ...

I had the same error message prompt as well, but the rom before V3.01 is also from your previous rom and I did not get the same message and those rom flashing is clear and without any complication at all. Although message generate during step 3, the process continue and RUU run normally and seems that the rom is update to the phone and it is functioning. I think it had not cause any problem....

:p

Hi wonh_hk... today's theme works fine. no problem at all. Did you relocate your files to SD and took out SD recently. Check whether you have Storage Card 2 directory in you Storage Card. If answer is yes to any of the above questions, then you a SD re-location problem. Delete Storage Card 2, do a soft reset and it whoulc works.

As for speed voice dial, it should be dormant if you have not touched it. Go into the apps and de-activate all the voice tags and application associations and see whether it works.

Cheers, Swiftblade

Dear Swiftblade ..

I had not relocate any files to SD manually and the SD card had not been remove every since I put it in. And I had follow your instruction to look for Storage Card 2 directory and there is no such directory.

Thanks ....

Well this thing looks great but to me the original one was better so anybody know how to go back to original HTC Touch screen/rom well usual stuff??

happian
24th November 2007, 03:44 PM
Well, now you see ;)
Don't know "why", but I think that for some reason Swiftblade wanted only one *.nbh file in the folder.
In any way it works, doesn't it? :)

But the key problem is: the "ren" cmd is wrong! Look at the start.bat:

@echo off
cd RUU
ren ELF_USPL_v1.n ELF_USPL_v1.nbh
ren Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.nbh Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.n
cd ..
elf-uspl.exe

Pay attention to the line that is maked as bold. There are two spaces in the file name "Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.nbh" and "Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.n", so the "ren" DOS command will consider that there are 4 parameters instead of 2!
So, the "ren" cmd is definitely wrong!

Switchblade,
Your ROM was the last working one I had on my Touch just before it decided to act up and stay in "smart IMmobility" mode but I have to say that I used it for a few hours before my phone went on the fritz and I absolutely loved the ROM. Not only is it full featured but also very VERY fast and responsive. Great job- very nicely cooked and I'm sure the image underlying the ROM is a very clean one.

Swiftblade, I tried again for no less than 10 times yesterday, and still have the "invalid vender id" error. Since start.bat doesn't work for my touch, here's what I did:
attempt 1) Use pof's ELF_USPL to do CID unlock by myself, and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe directly in your RUU dir.
attempt 2) Use pof's ELF_USPL to do CID unlock, press CTRL+C after step 2/3 is successful, (now the touch's screen is white and blank), then run ROMUpdateUtility.exe directly in your RUU dir (ELF_USPL_v1.n and Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build 18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4Mb_V3.01.nbh both have correct names).

I don't experience a drop in battery life with this rom. It is a possiblilty that you are using more and trying out various apps with installation of the new rom which drain the battery. Monitor it for a few days when you go back to your normal usage and pattern and see.. Cheers.

I don't experience a drop in battery life with this rom. It is a possiblilty that you are using more and trying out various apps with installation of the new rom which drain the battery. Monitor it for a few days when you go back to your normal usage and pattern and see.. Cheers.

actually i also encounter this problem.....will try to monitor it for a few day..
first day of flashing...the phone battery keeps dropping...when i send one sms it drops 1%...then i am inputting some notes it drops 2 %.....hopefully 3.02 will solve it for me...

Thanks for the wonderful rom...keep it swiftblade.:)

happian.. DO NOT PRESS CTRL-C after Step 2/3... Just leave it there and proceed to RUU directory and activate ROmUpdateUtility.exe. Hope it works out for you..

Of course I had tried to followe your instruction (for at least 10 times), but it didn't work. Notice that it's my second type of attemption. I have tried:
*) click start.bat and follow the instruction, and step 1/3 and 2/3 is successful, RomUpdateUtility.exe started but gave "INVALID VENDER ID" error.
*) CID unlock manually using pof's ELF_USPL, and run RomUpdateUtility.exe in your RUU dir.
*) press CTRL+C after step 2/3, and run RomUpdateUtility.exe in your RUU dir.

all the attemps get the same error: "INVALID VENDER ID". why? I have flashed other ROMs many many times and all succeed. Don't say that I don't know how to flash a ROM.

OH... that one... haha:D HTC Home is the today plug-in user interface that you see on the screen with the 6 tabs: |Home|Weather|Launcher|Music|Favourite People|Profile|

It original OEM rom only shows 3 tabs: |Home|Weather|Launcher| but with tab-settings we can now use all 6 tabs.. So it is the interface you are seeing all the time..:D Cheers

I also have it on v2.10, with or without any input method being displayed on the screen. I'm going to flash to v3.02 now, see if the problem is there for me, too.
BTW I also have a horizontal scroll bar on some IE pages that loaded fine with the original rom.

You can actually installed an application called HTC Home Customiser (HHC) that allows you to change the type of clocks, weather icons, Home icons, mediaplayer to select, etc.

...this is part of what I was complaining about some time ago. Seems that slowly things get a bit out of hand with these roms... Swiftblade told me to adjust ClearType, which really has nothing to do with it. There are scrollbars in SMS, Internet Explorer, email headers are way to broad so that the sender pics disappear, fonts are to small or too big and there's simply no way left to adjust them (I know there's some adjustment possible and I tried everything, but fixing them in one place opens up strange behaviour in another, so...) - I can't help but perhaps going back to v1 is the only way out here. Overall it seems to be a zero-sum game. You can't get your cake and eat it, too.

Cheers

It really was very important for me.
The ROM seems to be very nice as for the time, but I'll be monitoring the accu too - three hours, no active use and 12 percents seems to be too much...

Hi.. Relocating file locations for Document, Emails and IE files do works and it was working in my roms v1.0 and v1.1. v1.2 onwards, I decided to switch it back to original because it caused some problems for ppl who switch their SD card frequently. It is easier and neater to be built in rom.

If you do it using registry tweaking after installing a rom, it still can be done but you need to manually create the directories and subdirectories you pointed to in the registry tweaks in the Storage card for it to works.

As for Office 2007, it is build in the rom. You can find them in Start Menu but OneNote is not included. Notepad is included in the rom though... Cheers

I just flashed my HTC Touch to v3.01, a few hours later now. It is very nice, it makes my Honda Civic to a Skyline.

Although my HTC was dead to the tri-color RUU screen, but finally it can return to the normal "blank" screen using mmty.exe and contiue the ROM upgrade without any problem.

Thanks for Swiftblade. You did a great job.

I would like to make some contrubition here -> Hong Kong Mirror ->
http://andrewloh.com/Blue_Touch_OS_1921_Build_18521.0.7.0_Big_Stor_58.4 Mb_V3.01.zip

:( One thing I need to complaint is the development speed is too fast. Seems like I need to download and re-install the v3.02 now.

The problems apparently is related to me using the new OS Build 18521 which probably have a bigger scroll bars configuration. Tried out some registry tweaks but doesn't work out well.. abit tricky I may say.. Anyone have any ideas to a solution?

Swiftblade, thanks for this rom, I'm always looking for the perfect rom and this is very close to it :-)

I have one tiny tiny glitch though. Have you changed anything about I.E. I have a simple web page set up that I use as a start page for I.E. - www.dur.ac.uk/s.g.applegarth/mobile.htm

Theres nothing clever here, simply a series of links i tweak every now and then to give me a series of buttons to my fave pages.

On your rom (and one other if memory serves, it behaves differently and I loose the two columns..

I can mod my page to get it to work but im really curious about what is different here to the ship roms.

Any thoughts anyone ?

hi swiftblade...

is the horizontal scroll bar problem happening for everyone???

it would be very annoying... will there be a fix or are you working on another rom update with another build that will have this issue resolved??

it seems like people are saying that this horizontal scroll bar appears with every keyboard....

Hi Andrew... iframe_style.css is not missing. It is in Windows\iframe_style.css as rightly pointed out by you.

Registry should be HKLM\System\GWE\Inbox\Templates. iframestylesheet is not set up at the moment. Perhaps you can try it and share it with us if it works.. Cheers
