Swiftblade, I hv installed Blue ElFin ROM V2.01 to my Touch Enhanced. The Power button works fine and the device can turn on and off normally. The screen also can be off.

i've installed the new cab but i can't join the settings under settings-->voice speed dial :( so this also isn't working for me.

If you need Cyberon Voice Speed Dial, I suggest you stick with 3.02. I have no idea the reason why Voice Speed Dial is removed from 3.21. Even with the cab file for Voice Speed Dial provided, after installing it, it will not allow you to initiate voice dial using the BT headset call button. Not only does voice dialing won't work, after pressing the BT Call button, all sounds are re-directed from the Touch to the headset, such as incoming rings and the screen tap sound.

Swiftblade, can you consider not removing Voice Speed Dial from the next ROM update? Thank you. Am sure many people miss this feature (esp those who drives).

You have a Touch Enhanced 128/256 in your hands. You should flash the Blue ELFin ROM V2.01 instead. This ROM is for the standard Touch 64/128.

Thanks. Tried flashing the ELFin ROM. Goes all the way through to running RUU and the fails because of "no connection". I'm running Vista and MS Synch Center, not XP and ActivSynch. The Touch stays connected all the way through until RUU starts, and then it disconnects.

I don't have that issue with the default keyboard at all. I tried it entering texts and SMSes all day no problem. Maybe You wish to uninstall M8 and see that is the cause. Cheers

Hey sokee76... Sound:Automatic Profile supposes to change the sound notification to your daily schedule (e.g. at work, at home, sleeping, etc) but this feature is not make available yet. So for now I suppose it works like Sound:Normal. One more thing, sokee76, shouldn't you be posing in the Blue ELFin ROM thread instead? Cheers...

Hi nak... Vista does pose some problems sometimes. Try repeating the installation process a few times when you see that the activesync is fully completed.

If you are using a SD card with 4GB and above, remove it during flashing the rom. But remember to put it back when you are successful flash and do a reset to the settings to the SD card right.

You are in Malaysia so there are readily original HTC OEM 1.17.707.2B WWE ROM which you can download from the HTC Asia Member Site or even from get from this forum which you can use as a backup for warranty issue or returning to the original ROM when things goes awry.

Those 3rd party applications such as Skype, youtube and msn works fine with this ROM as well as the original ROM you are having. But this ROM will offer you much more Storage Memory and Program Memory for running your device and apps faster and smoother. Some apps are pre-installed in the ROM too... Do read the ROM information posted on the first post to understand what is in it. It is dangerous to start flashing ROM wihtout understanding what it offers and for which device. Cheers

Hi, the registry tweak for New Email is working fine but not for the New MMS.
When i click on New MMS, it goes into the "Select an Account" page instead of going straight into the New MMS screen.

Hi swiftblade, im uing bluetouch rom v 3.02 which is perfect, fast and stable. in the today screen items list inside the settings menu, my spb mobile shell item is always on top of the htc home and the "move up" and "move down" buttons are disabled only for these two items (in addition to the date item)!

is there any registry tweak to fix this? i need to keep the htc home on top of the other items

I am afraid a software (ROM) upgrade can't solve a hardware problem if your drop have damage it physically. A trip down to the Customer Service will be a wise thing. Just don't tell them that you drop it if it's not physical obvious. Cheers...

I think you are right - tested with my plugins PhoneAlarm, BatteryStatus
and PhoneDashboard disable and test sms, zoomsms blue sms icon appear.
As long as any one of those plugin that I have was enable, the sms icon will
never appear after the soft-reset. So as what Swiftblade say, not to spend
too much time on this one, no point having a screen without any plugins
just to get the zoomsms icon to be seen.

For me it helped to delete the connection. Just go under Settings/Connections/Connections, and delete the gprs. Do not worry, creating that connection again is as easy as running the wizard (at least in my case).

go to setings, enter conections, advanced, select networks, and put all the defenitions in " My Isp" so if you want to conect to internet with this setings you have to use HIFI

Is there a way to disable the sound bar (plugin) on the home screen? I don't use it and therefore it just takes away some space.
I mean the plugin with the bluetooth headset, play, stop and bluetooth icon which is below the HTC home tabs.
I would like to have it at least at the very bottom, which means below the Outlook Calendar and TodayAgenda.

I am afraid that camera's Album is hardcored and can't be changed without hacking. As the switching between landscape (horizontal) and portrait (vertical), you can add parameters to change them using Total Commander:

Landscape --> HTC Album.exe -mode:camera -type:image
Portrait --> HTC Album.exe -mode:picture -type:image

The keyboard language in this ROM is English only. If you need other languages, you will have to use either Touch Keyboard or PCM Keyboard with multi-languages support.

i have a problem, i tried to install the new rom.
if i install the Cert_SPCS.CAB and EnableRapi.CAB i see the linux pinguin and after a while the activ sync connection is off and this is the end on the display i can read

If i do not install this cab´s every thing works fine till the rom will be updated, i see the blank white screen and than the rom update programm starts,after 2% it break and the programm tell me that the *.sbh image is corrupted. I´ve downloaded it two time but nothing change.
Edit: i must make a soft reset, after the first softreset i the red blue green an the installed rom version from o2 Version 2212071 411351 030790
after a second softreset the xda nova starts normal.

Any idea?

I have a strange problem.
I updated my elf with another rom and all was fine.
But when I try to update this I have this problem:
step 1,2 and 3 ok
start the uploader, ask me if I want to upgrade....OK
ask me If I want to use the blu touch 3.21...OK
it start with the bar and....ERROR UPDATING it says me to control if it's connetced the phone but is obviously so.
the phone done all right (blank screen and so on) but when I'm in the updating screen every time this error.
I tried also to reinstall the cert and rapi cabs but nothing to do.
How can I solve this problem???

Anyway, I would like to ask a question regarding the sms behaviour of the original ROM and Blue ROM.

In the original ROM, when we are writing a new sms, when we enter a character at the "To:" field, the names matching the character will appear above the keyboard/keypad.

Works great, quicker then most ROMS i've tried.

Couple things I need to change for it to work and "look" the way i prefer it.

Otherwise it's awesome, works quick and only needed to change the proxy for it to access Internet, and get MMS to work.

Syncs with my bluetooth devices on first try as well, other ROMS took at least a couple tries.

Yes, this has been reported somehow and all the custom rom is facing this problem. Seems to be something that the new ROM code has changed. Still in the process of looking into it and hope to find a solution. You have to bear with it for now...:(

Yes, this has been reported somehow and all the custom rom is facing this problem. Seems to be something that the new ROM code has changed. Still in the process of looking into it and hope to find a solution. You have to bear with it for now...

Hey andy.... actually the feature of the options is all the time there. Just [Click and Hold] the Contact in the Cube, and it will bring up the options to select Call, Text, Email, etc. But just clicking it only will dial the number directly. Cheers.,,

Hi, in regard to the weather issue, I say go ahead, N2A has made a patch specifically for this Rom and there is absolutly no problem overwriting a DLL file. Hi, just go to Settings -> Sounds and notification -> Notification -> Event: Messaging - New Text Message -> select the "Display message on screen"

Not too sure how to make it permanent though as the checkbox will be auto-cleared whenever a soft reset is done.

I believe you are looking for htc key pad. Look for it within the link i supplied you with.
As far as the clock setings are concerned, go to
Staru -> Setting -> System -> Regional Settings

Set your region and that should be it.

Install cab file and select keypad as your default keyboard.
You can also try searching the forum for stanalone cab for keypad so you don't have to install both keyboard and keypad. I've read somewhere that HTC keyboard uses a lo of ram. It's all up to you...

Newly owned HTC Touch 256 128 Black Color.

In my device info I see ;

Radio: 03.07.90

Tried upgrading with Rom 2.01.

After cid unlocking appears tricolor screen -not white-and says
IPL 2.20.0002, SPL 2.20.0000

then starts rom flashing, at this point gives error as image file corrupted etc.

my ques;

1. do I need to repeat unlocking procedure every time? or can we consider unlocking is already done?

2. What else can I do rom flashing ? how can I ovecome this error mentioned above?

3. If I fail and decide to keep the current Rom, What would the realised unlocking procedure cause?

Anyway, I would like to ask a question regarding the sms behaviour of the original ROM and Blue ROM.

In the original ROM, when we are writing a new sms, when we enter a character at the "To:" field, the names matching the character will appear above the keyboard/keypad.

I found the perfect solution.....Pbar :) . Just disable the HTC Task Manager and use the Pbar 1.5, works great and have allot of great options like fast enable and disable wifi, bluetooth etc.

Oh you can't even open the rar. I installed this rom a fue days ago and all files where ok so strange you have that problem. Have you tryed from the two download links ?

I believe that my PC has a serious problem downloading files. I was using Netscape download manager and went back to IE7 and every since my downloaded have been corrupt or I've had to download the same file repeatedly. :mad: Gonna keep trying till I get it though, my Touch is worth it!

Hi ajcable... don't give up. Sad to hear that you can't download the ROM which is strange indeed. Have you try downloading from the mirror sites?

One explanation for your strange encounters is spywares (lots of them) in your computer. Try running some spyware cleaner and try again.

If your really can't, PM me your email address and I will try to sent you a copy.

Hey AJ,

If the ROM files that you get from your friend is the Blue Touch ROM V3.21 from this thread, I have integrated the CID unlocking and the ROM updating utility in the package.

Read and follow the instructions that is given inside the folder.

Since this is the first time you are flashing a custom ROM, copy the Cert_SPCS.CAB and Enable-Rapi.CAB to your Touch and install it. Soft reset it and then [START] the ROM Updating. Good Luck!

The .pwi file is the Pocket Word document and should be opened with Pocket Word. The Notes program is unlike Notepad in Windows XP which can use for opening text files.

Anyway, the Pocket Word and Notes in the ROM are working fine. Cheers.

Great rom but a little problem. When I go to settings->notifications->new text message and I check "Display message on screen", after a soft reset it is unchecked while other options (vibrate and sounds) are kept. So it doesn't keep only the "Display message on screen" setting. How can I solve this prob? Thanks and happy new year.

I have the same problem, but thats if i get one before my phone locks again. Even then it doesn't happen all the time. I think it's cause when i pull it out my fingers "touch" the clock section as i pull it out of the pouch. Hope that helps.

This is a WWE ROM and so the keyboard is in English only. However, you can install the Touch Keyboard or PCMKeyboard later for your danish language support. You can try the new TouchPal SIP V2.0 also. Cheers

It is indeed peculiar and strange. Never did hear anything with this problem. Firstly you can try to run the network wizard and see whether the problem is fixed. As a last resort, you can install the "NO GRPS" apps attached below but you will lose your GRPS connection and data connection. Cheers.

Yes, the network wizard in this ROM need to be set manually as some ppl don't use them at all.

Go Start->Settings->Connections->Network Wizard and set up your network and everything will be OK. Cheers

If you done the USPL, your SuperCID will stay until you flash another ROM with SPL such as those original HTC ROMs. So rightly you can just run the ROMupdateutility and flash another ROM but thers's no harm to do USPL again also.

If you flash the Blue Touch ROM, just run the integrated ROM update utility by clicking on START.bat in the folder will do the job.

I have actually tried to build a ROM with .NETCF 3.5 but unfortunately I wouldn't get some apps to work. I will give it another go this weekends and hopefully I can cook a ROM with .NETCF 3.5 and LGMenu... Cheers.

Yes, the network wizard in this ROM need to be set manually as some ppl don't use them at all.

Go Start->Settings->Connections->Network Wizard and set up your network and everything will be OK. Cheers

Hi whitefalcon... to change the HTC Album to landscape mode, there is two methods:

Method 1:
Install Touch Settings apps and use it to change the Cube Photo Launcher's "param" to:

param = -mode:camera -type:image

Method 2:
Use RegEdit app to change the following registry value:

[HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\Appl_2]
change --> "param" to "-mode:camera -type:image"

Now wait for a few minutes and do a soft reset and it's done. Cheers

No, I don't have issue with using the 6 tabs Home plug-in. Many of us are using it without any problems.

As for ROM compatibility, do you have a ELF or ELFin? Can you give me more information of your device and original ROM such as RAM size, ROM version, etc.

As for using my ROM updater, I will advise you to go through the entire process by using START.bat. No harm in doing the CID unlocking again even you have done so.

Any ideas?

Use Advanced configuration tool and in there go to "appearance". There you can choose what the left softkey does. On my touch surface rom it is assigned to "New" which opens the action screen.

To exit from the action screen: just press the red hardware button.

Just my opinion, no hard feeling about ur creation.

I believed updating the your current ROM is easy especially adding/removing cab, and updating 'initiateflash.txt'. Pardon me if i am wrong.

I would like to request a clean ROM with bigger storage with just HTC dual applications?

Is ok if u are tied up with HTC advanced ROM.

Because personally i believed some of HTC lovers also prefer a clean ROM.

I do understand, you are building a ROM to suit ur usage.

Because the Cooking guide is pretty confusing and not updated clearly, i can only extract the ROM, remove/add the cabs which was extracted out from different ROM creation, but have no idea how to continue from here.

Swiftblade told me that it wouldn't hurt unlocking the CID again (which the script provided with this rom will do) but you could also just run the update program that updates only the rom. It's in one of the 2 folders when you download.

Dumping before you flash is nice for having a backup or you could try to find a thread where someone already dumped the rom you have.

Hi Andrea... Don't fret.... Restart your computer and your device. Re-connect your USB and wait till it has completed the synchronisation and then you try again. Sometimes it need a few attempts to get it right...

p.s. Did you install the Cert_SPCS.CAB and Enable-Rapi.CAB to your device before you do your flashing?

Hi fana.. I can't answer the question on Slide2Unlock. Perhaps you may want to post on the developer thread for an answer.

As to whether my ROM is fast or not, I can only said that many who used it had said it is fast. As for french language, it is not so simple as a installation CAB. It needs translation of the entire ROM and apps, and this is beyond me. If you want to be able to read and write but in an English ROM, that is possible by installing multi-language keyboard SIP like Touch Keyboard, PCMKeyboard, TouchPal SIP V2.0.

Hi junh... the question is what have you installed into your device after the ROM upgrade? What you experiencing is not normal and have nothing to do with the rom.

There are several ways to view the picture in other locations in your storage beside the default directory:

1. Install the HTC Album with Directory Options. This allows you to open up any location to view your pictures but will take up more memory space.

2. Install Touch Settings apps and change the default directory location you desired.

3. Remain status quo and put your pictures in the default directory.

HTC Album tends not to release the memory after its use and that eats into your precious Program Memory. This slows down your device if the memory gets real low. Work around is to do a soft reset and you will be back to normal.

Dont launch the start.bat from the rar archive, extract all the folder/files to your C: hardrive and then runn start.bat ;)

No harm running the integrated ROM updater by clicking on START.bat. If you wish, you can run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe from RUU folder.

LG Menu is a today plug-in. If you don't like it, just unselect it in Today's Items.

I have added it because I fine the menu is very "touch-friendly", i.e. you can use your thumbs to navigate through the menu and there is no need for the use the stylus...;) It complement with the Home plug-in somewhat. I suggest you give it a try and I believe you will love it.. Cheers

Hi again, What Hex editor do you use and would you have an idea on what was done or could ask the question.
LG menus are very useful but some of the apps like Picture album doesn't use the HTC album.

Hi again, What Hex editor do you use and would you have an idea on what was done or could ask the question.
LG menus are very useful but some of the apps like Picture album doesn't use the HTC album.

Hi nmesisca... Touchpal V2.0 has no problem whatsoever. I am using it right now on my Touch with the new ROM and the best part is that this is now the only SIP that can be installed on SD card and works... great stuff.. Cheers

me too. My 4GB card also have problem. I flash it by removing the card.
When it finished and rebooting, I insert the card back immediately with super quick motion :p :p it works.

NO.. If you have SD card with memory 4GB or higher, remove the SD card while flashing the new ROM. After successful flashing, replace the SD card and do a hard reset or do like andrewloh - super quick replace the SD card.. Cheers.

Anyway, you can't remove them if it's already in the ROM. You can only do so when you cook a ROM without it.

Sorry, I don't like to include Radio, Splash screen, IPL and SPL in my ROM because sometimes it can foul things quite bad.

Anyway, though I had upgraded mine to version 03.07.90 but I don't see any difference at all. Just a novelty thing I guess. You don't miss anything by keeping your current radio...;) Cheers

With 3.21 I have this behavior too..
As soon as I soft reset/power on the Touch the memory available is around 15-17MB, then after a couple minutes goes back to 22-23MB..
Not much installed either.. basically only TouchPal..

Thanks jensen for the memory status. You are indeed a brave one!

Anyway, your program memory is at these level 'cos you are syncing with your computer. If no program is running it should be around 21~25Mb..

i was wondering if you could implement the new touch dual dialer in your roms... Dutty in the kaiser forum already posted an oem package installer but it doenst install on the touch...

Before I push my luck and try out the new version 4 may I ask (in a nutshell) what are the functions/benefits of these two these programs: NET Compact Framework and LG Prada Menu Plug-in?

I had a concern about my network settings after the 3.02 flashing. Everytime my phone starts up I see the name of my network operator in English followed by small square blocks. When I use the Network Wizard it's set on Taiwan and my country and operator is not listed there. I am making and receiving calls on my network ok though.

Oh yeah?? Is there ANY way to get rid of that damned BIG clock that takes up half the screen????

go for the start.bat - it will copy the bootloader to your mobile

The newer .NET Compact Framework 3.5 supposes to give you a better performance whereas LG Menu allows you to navigate through the menu using your thumb and without the stylus...

As the network thingy, change your regional settings back to English (US) or English (Australia) will do the tricks.

Lastly, the BIG clock is an integral part of HOme Plugin.. You have to unselected the Home plugin if you don't want to see it.. Just a thought... Why remove the BIG CLOCK, it thought it should be ideal for Granny..:rolleyes:

Just simply run the START.bat... that's what I always do and I do flash alot of ROMs...;)

After your Appearance selection, you can either save it to a theme name and then load it or just click "Save" at the left of bottom bar.

Screen turned white like it is supposed to, RUU started but at 4 or 5 % it reported an error. I think it was "270 image file damaged" or something like that.

Out of the two tries I've made, both have seemed to 'freeze' at step 2/3 of the start.bat. It just sits there w/ a blinking cursor after reaching 4 'periods' after the 2/3. It looks like this:

Any idea how long this particular stage should take or what might be causing it to hang at this moment?

The Activesync icon must be green at that moment, it becomes grey after the 100% shows up. Anyway if this is your first cooked rom you must run Cert_SPCS.cab FIRST and EnableRapi.cab SECOND. Then reboot your touch and make a activesync connection with the PC using a usb cable, now when the activesync icon below is green you can run the START.BAT file. Also be sure to extract the folders/files to your C: hard drive and not just run it from the rar archive. Hope this all will help.

Try first another usb port and if that not works just hard reset and try again to update with the start.bat. By the way, are you running XP or VISTA ?

Well, I went ahead and hard reset and am trying it again after doing exactly what was suggested (install CERT_SPCS.cab FIRST followed by EnableRapi.cab second). Soft reset. Came back, synched, and ran start.bat again. Looks like it's sitting at Step 2/3 .... again. I just upgraded from Blue rom V3.21
I forgot to install the 2 CAB files and I had no problem upgrading with start.bat.
If you want to be sure just install the 2 CAB files. It won't hurt.

If you have problems flashing the new ROM, try removing your SD card and try it again. Once you get a successful attempt, quickly re-insert back the SD card for the initialisation. Good Luck!

If the problem persists, you might have download a corrupted file. Re-download the zip file again and try.

It is part of the Touch XL keyboard + keypad that I have removed from this ROM. If you want it back , you have to re-install the Touch keyboard and keypad.
