Nice work Swiftblade, it really seems to be very nice this room.
But since I never flashed any room before, I have two questions.

1 - Is there a lot of stuff installed on the storage card? I'm asking this because I'm gonna flash this room using a 1GB card but I looking foward to buying a new one (problably a 6GB). So when I change the card will I need to do hard reset so things can be installed on the new card?

2 - Can it safely be done using Vista or it's better to use another computer running a XP?

Nothing gets installed on the storage card when u flash a new rom (or when you hard reset, or when you install a different card). The only thing your device will put on the card is the folder structure that will hold your Temp IE files (cache etc..).
Hence, you dont really need a hard reset..

Im using Vista x64 and did not have any problems flashing my device..

Wowser this is a great Rom------ thanks Swiftblade....

On the last Rom and on this one, when I receive PICS from MMS they come out very dinky. The most is 60x80. I went to tools and settings on the sms/mms and have put in larger size etc., but I still just get the dinkiest of PICS. Perhpas the surgery got to me or something, but is there a different place for this setting that I am missing, and does anyone else have this problem. EHH be nice now!!!!! :rolleyes:

I had 2 problems:
1- Before your ROM I used Seiya's ROM, but i had many problems, so Install your ROM. It is work very well but still I have the Seiya's logo when i reset my PDA, haw I can change this?
2- If I put in the contacts the phone number with country code (e.g. +9745544..), when i receive the call from this contact, I see this local number 5544... with out name, do you know haw I can resolve this problem?

But if I put this information (+9745544... ) in SIM card, I can see the phone# with name

so first of all, it won´t be a problem to change your card, not at all.
The rom is going to be installed on your phone itself...not on your card.
second, i used vista, without any problems...

So if you have vista installed - perfect.

Not sure if this has been asked before but I did a search on the forum and could not find any information on how to configure the LG menu - i.e. add, move and delete the icons within each individual menu. I could see any config screen in either the today screen or the program folder. Am I missing something ?

I was wondering the same thing and already asked it here. Swiftblade let me know that only way to configure it, is by hex editing it. I have no idea how to do it. I disabled the LG menu for now. It isn't much use to me if I can't easily modify it.

Btw, if I disable the LG menu as a today plugin, is nothing from the LG menu loaded in the ram? Or are there other things that I should disable?

Use another theme :p . And if you whant to keep that wallpaper from your theme, rename the tsk to cab and open with winrar. Now extract the file TDYWAT~1.001 and rename the 001 to JPG and voila thats your wallpaper.

I am using this ROM and notice that whenever I make a call, the "In Call" volume
always at the minimum.I will need to move the left side slider to increase it
to maximum. It will stay there until the next time I restart and got to repeat the
above steps again. Search through all settings just could not find any option for
"In Call". (Nothing to do with Volume settings under the top volume icon as both
the Device and Phone settings stay as it is, just the "In Call" volume)

The Taskbar indicator of Battery Status...

Shows the CPU is clocked to 289 and it's currently running at 23% load capacity.

Nice to know what the status of the CPU is in any app.. plus it acts as a shortcut to battery status should I wish to step up the processor to 312 or down to 201

If you have the Today PlugIn of battery status..tap and hold the little battery icon... when the menu pops up there is an option called Taskbar Indicator

I write all my contacts phone with country code (e.g. (+974)556633 ...)

When I receive a call, the name no longer appears. I have only 556633...

However if I were added this same contact with country code in SIM card, when I receive the call, the name appears.

LOVE IT ... BLOWN AWAY with my revitalized touch!!!

I now have a small looking "PDA icon w/brown symbol" on bottom right of all main screens.

It is not an active point and does not appear to do anything.

Please advise on what it is and how to remove it.

Since I've installed the rom bluetooth works fine. But today it suddenly won't work anymore. I can't even turn bluetooth on and when I trie to pair with a device it says "bluetooth hardware problem". Does anyone knows how to resolve this problem?

If it was working when you first flashed the new ROM, then the problem could be you accidentally overwritten some files or installed some incompatible programs.

One solution is to do a Hard Reset to get back to the clean ROM state as if it has just been flashed the ROM. Please do a PIM Backup as all data will be lost during a Hard Reset. Cheers.

The versions are not totally compatible between them.. depends on the software really.
You could download .net cf 1.0 or download the Powertools for .net cf 3.5
There you will find an app that will change the .net cf version binding of the game. you should be able to change it to .net cf 3.5...

Did you do the USPL CID unlock first before you run the Change Splashscreen application.

You need to run Step 1/3 and 2/3 of USPL to get a SuperCID first then run the Change Spalshscreen application. It should works.

Go to picture & video's choose the wallpaper you whant to use, then go to menu below and choose to set as today background. There you can set the transpa layer to 0%. By the way, there are no stupid questions buth only stupid answers :-)

I'm using co-pilot live 7.0 software-it even works in flight on the airplane-kinda cool being able to track yourself across North America

Hope this isn't another stupid question. But i'm having some problem with SPB Time.
I use the Spb Time as an alarm and before I flashed this rom it was working just fine. But now the alarm doesn't ring when the screen is off. Do you know what could be causing this??

Yes you are correct that the setting is automatically detected (can also be set manually). For the GPRS issue I'm currently escalate it to my provider.
I will update you if there's progress.

HARD RESET will solve all your problems.

I faced i problem once with the theme color, it suddenly stuck on Windows Default Blue and only after a HARD Reset works normal again.

1 thing I noticed, when customising the HTC Home icons with HTC Home Customiser, I see that the icon HH_FW_iconringsound_on cannot be changed. It is the only file of the icons that seems to be locked in ROM (computer chip icon in GS Finder). Even using Advanced Config to unlock the Extended ROM and rebooting does not unlock the file. Cannot uncheck the read-only flag using GS Finder either.

I guess there is no fix for this except flashing again when an updated ROM? Or can we redirect HTC Home to read the icon from a different location/filename?

I now returned to the NLD 1.31 SP1(2.21.707.1B). This is also a great NL ROM, is the new ROM from Bram the same like this one, only in NL language?

ZoomSMS is abit erratic and that is why it was removed from the ROM upgrade. Anyway, if it does work, when a SMS comes in or a missed call, there will be a blue icon that pops up around the centre right of the screen. Clicking on it will view your SMS in large font.

It appears that it will works only there is no plug-in at the location where the icon should appear. Try disable the LG menu and see whether it works. I have given up on this apps already. Manage to get it to work once only.:(

& install LandscapeEtenSkin.cab. Now i didnt like the dilpads and i uninstall it buth now my original htc dialpad is total messed up :confused: . The original HTC dialpad is with ROM (not removable) and should still intact. Only things is that its gfx files are overwritten by the eten ones. Delete all the eten folder and files that have been overwritten, do a soft reset and it should be back.

Alternatively, you can install the HTC dialpad again but that going to add to your memory spaces. Try to retrace back what files were overwritten in Windows directory and delete them shoudl do the trick.

True the original is still intact, buth i think there is more to change then only remove bmp's ? Because i dont now where i must change something else.

I find that BatteryStatus 1.04b Build 243 is the less leaky of all the builds that I have tried. I haven't try the newer builds after that though.

The photos dont appear in the top corner in messages, it looks like it is off the side and you see a small band a few pixels wide only, in both portrait and landscape modes.

Not sure if this is unique to me, havent noticed it on other roms before but that doesnt mean it wasnt there :-)

I have contact photos assigned to a selection of my most used contacts, to enable the pictures on the cube (great for annoying people ;-)I sync my phone with Exchange at my office and all seems ok, the photos are split between those added on the phone with the camera and some added through the pc from other sources

Any thoughts ?

Im going to flash a different rom (Shadow 1.1) to see if that solves the problem, but whilst I like the Shadow 1.1 rom I would rather use this one, if anyone has any thoughts I will flash back...

As an aside, I've had this phone since october and think I've flashed it at least once a week on average, this forum is addictive with all the new roms ;-)

As far as I know, it's better to leave it inside. I heard about problems when you don't. It will make a folder for a storage card and when you insert one later, it will make an another extra one. Something like that.

I would agree, I never take my card out (nothing to do with big fingers and fiddly slot!) and its never caused me problems...

I have, on earlier devices, swapped cards around and every so often had problems with a new folder being created called storage card, and the storage card ending up as Storage Card (1) or similar, just as described by tiftof, and its a right pain to get rid of.

Radio rom will stay intact. Hard resetting just changes things back like the way they were when you last flashed your rom (doesn't matter if you flashed the radio rom before or after flashing the blue touch rom).

If I save in Contacts the name & Tel. No.with country code, when I receive any call from this person his name does not apear?.

If I delete the country code, the name of the person will apear.

It is cahsed by your settings. Try to set your Regonal; Settings to "English (US)" or "English (Australia)".

Just select the Contacts directly from the create SMS screen.

p.s. Don't expect a Touch which is a PDA phone to behave exactly like your last mobile phone. Their functions could be close but cannot be exactly the same. Cheers

I have an HTC Touch (Elf) with switftblade's blue ROM v4, I transfered some pics off of my storage card onto my laptop and just moved the whole DCIM folder.

My Camera app on my Touch no longer lets me chose storage card as the save location.

I tried re-creating the DCIM folder on the storage card, still same results in the Camera app.

Any ideas? Registry hack or something?

hello, i flash my rom with V4.0 blue touch rom, but after install this rom i had a problem, my touch can't connect gprs, they shown pop up with this message "the remote party has ended this connection".

Yes you are correct that the setting is automatically detected (can also be set manually). For the GPRS issue I'm currently escalate it to my provider.
I will update you if there's progress.

Update : At the end of my frustation, I tried to change the GPRS Authentication method (into PAP) which was already set CHAP by default.

It worked like a charm. I'm able to access GPRS again. Thanks Swiftblade.

First of all, the Voice Speed Dial was removed from the ROM, you need to install the cab attached in the first post to use the apps. Secondly, Touch has only one button and the button is assigned to Camera at default. Ignore the other two buttons assignment, they do not work.

That's Home Tab was with Advanced Config v1.0 but is removed from the current V1.1. Now if you want eh favourite people tab back do the following tweaks using RegEdit:

[HKLM\Software\OEM\MASD]
Delete "Quickdial" totally

[HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome]
Tabsettings: 1,3,4,5,6,2<-- Add "2"

Wait for a few minutes and do a soft reset.

You need to install the .jar files or .jad files before you can run the programs.

Radio is a separate and independent area of the rom that includes the firmware/software for the phone part of your pda. You can flash with a different rom but you do not need to flash with a different radio in order for the rom to work.
Moreover, the latest radio update available from the forums does not seem to offer any big improvement over the previous one.

its the STK service, you can stop it with SKTools or delete the key - i think it is in HKLM/Services

Swiftblade: thank you for delivering such great ROMs!!! My Touch wouldn't be as good as it is with your Blue ROM!

However, I have one thing that bothers me since i installed v4.0... In the lower left corner, there is a shortcut to Action Screen and when i receive a notification (SMS, MMS, Missed call, reminder etc), there is still Action Screen and for a blink of an eye, every cca 5 seconds, you can see "Notification" text where there was "Action Screen". And i can get rid of it if i click on titlebar - battery status, dissmiss it and voila, the notification appears (for less then a second). This is somewhat annoying and if you have a solution i'll be very greatful. It could be Advanced Config application that does this, forcing "Action Screen" no matter what. I played a lot with this app to set it right... I can't get rid of this forcing... And I would like to have Action screen at hand, because it is useful, but if it overwrites notifications... i am in a dilema :)

Now it is not restarting with lights off..

I mean I flashed ELF with ELFIN firmware..

my original french os also showed as 128 mb ram and 256 mb rom..

Hi, Just in case you guys with music issues know (music on sd card not being detected), i got this to work by performing a hard reset with the card left IN hte device. I tried numerous times with the card out but as soon as i installed the card WM6 detected it as storagecard2, screwing up most of my apps!

I'm still getting problems playing anything through media player though as i get unknown errors, anyone had this?

Everything is working fine except psshutxp program. Every option(light off, restart, off) results in my touch restarting. When I flashed the rom it did work once after that I get the same problem(restarting of the touch).

Tried a hard reset after flashing it for the second time but that did not help either. Has someone a solution for this restarting:confused:.

It is very likely that all three of you have an ELFin and you have flashed an ELF firmware. Check carefully whether you have an ELF 64/128Mb or an ELFin 128/256Mb. Most of new stock of HTC Touchs that are in the shops now are ELFins unless you are getting the old stock. So do check carefully before you flash a ROM.

If you have an ELFin, try to flash to the Blue ELFin ROM v3.0 and see whether the problems goes away. Cheers.

OKay some more observations that might help.
I am not seeing above problem when my Touch is connected to comp ( Activesync on).. its only observed when its off the hook or being charged.

Also, come to think, i didnot get the current rom version in the RUU utility when the ROM was getting flashed ..was that normal??... i remeber RUU said the update progress will be shown on phone too but it didnot..all i got was blank white screen ....

have u tried installing other ELF Roms (such as Xtrinity X4S or basic one from HTC?) and did you get the error270 ? cuz i have been getting it all the time....

Have patience and re-try again. Reset your device, sync to your computer and wait for the synchronisation to complete and then "Start" the ROM upgrade. Good Luck!

You obviously have an ELFin 128/256. When you flash to a ELF ROM, it shows 64/128 because the ROM don't recognise it and not the OS. ELF ROM only recognised RAM size up to 64Mb but the 256MB ROM is recognised as evidence in the Storage Size/Memory.

The v4.0 has no reported issue with Calendar and Contacts but then again no one has such a large contacts and events like you..:p

It appears to be a problem in synchronising between your computer and the device and probably some its settings. Check your synchronisation settings for calendar and contacts and the parameters set.

Check also your calendar setting in your device too whether it will display all events, for one week or what?

Hi Zwan...

No, you do not have to USPL unlock first and do not have to flash back to an original ROM as CID unlocking is integrated in Blue Touch ROM ROM update utility. Just activesync your device to the copmuter and click on the Start.bat to begin the ROM upgrading. Good Luck!

p.s. Read the installation instructions and follow them closely.

Hi, Just in case you guys with music issues know (music on sd card not being detected), i got this to work by performing a hard reset with the card left IN hte device. I tried numerous times with the card out but as soon as i installed the card WM6 detected it as storagecard2, screwing up most of my apps!

I'm still getting problems playing anything through media player though as i get unknown errors, anyone had this?

Actually, there may be an easier alternative than a hard reset, at least it worked for me.

With your SD card in the device:
- delete the StorageCard folder (contained only rubbish for me), leaving only StorageCard2 (your real SD card)
- soft reset the device (hold down the power button long enough until the reset dialog comes up)

After restart, the StorageCard2 folder (your SD card) shows as StorageCard. You may need to repeat this once, make sure that in the meantime you didn't change any configurations to write to StorageCard2 (as I did for eg. Internet Explorer cache).

This fixed problems with HTC Album not reading pictures on the SD card and HTC Audio Manager not showing music that was on the SD card.

The StorageCard2 is in fact the SD card and the StorageCard is something the system created right after flashing because it could not find the SD card. Then when you first insert the SD card, the system will label it StorageCard2, yet HTC Photo Album and HTC Audio Manager only look for data in StorageCard (this can not be changed as to my knowledge), hence it will not find your music and images on the card.

I had the same problem. Right after flashing, the device restarted and I didn't have the SD card inserted. After I inserted it, it had the second storage card.
I just deleted the virtual copy. I couldn't delete it from Windows, so I did it from the device. Just be sure no App is running that could be using it. Soft reset and everyhing was OK ( It made the system folders again, but now on the real storage card )

And if anyone knows why it keeps forgetting my touchscreen callibration half of the time, that would be nice :-) ( it did that also before the flash)

It's really weird, i can't remember when it showed up. It looks like a today plugin but it does nothing. It can't be clicked and does not appera in today items selection screen.

If its indeed a glitch then hard reset would actually be the elegant solution.. always ask yourself how much time have u spent trying to fix the issue versus a hard reset..

It was zoomSMS :)
I missed it because it had a small note beside it so I thought it was something related with sound/music.
Also I think I didn't have that icon upon installing zoomsms. I guess it appeared after softreset.
Now I have to fiure out which zoomsms version comes without that icon.

But honeslty i havent flashed any so far since i find your cooking more stable and the programs which you introduce in your ROM are more useful to me.
So are you going to cook a update since your V4.0 on the WM6.1 so that i shall wait rather than switch loyalties.

A lot has been posted as regards to the new WM6.1.
There are a few ROMS also i suppose now on the forum recently.
But honeslty i havent flashed any so far since i find your cooking more stable and the programs which you introduce in your ROM are more useful to me.
So are you going to cook a update since your V4.0 on the WM6.1 so that i shall wait rather than switch loyalties.
Any plans?

I second that. a 6.1 version of this ROM would make my phone the god phone.

Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find any such question using "Search".

I successfully unlocked the phone: got the white blank screen and the synch icon went grey all as promised.

But when I then begin the rom update process I cannot get a connection getting the error message 266.

Can anybody please suggest why this is?
