This new Blue Touch ROM Version 3.02 is fully optimised and again is featuring a total new CE OS 5.2.1921 (Build 18521) AKU 0.7.0. This ROM is more stable and faster than the already fast previous ROM V2.10. This will be my last custom ROM for a long time to come until probably I can find ways to make even faster ROMs or when HTC releases some new ROM updates with significant enhancements for HTC Touch. Resolved somewhat the tardiness during re-starts in the last ROM which I am not at all happy... c",)

hi djtwistter.. just copy your theme tsk files to Storage directory and goto Settings-->Today, select your theme and click OK. Your theme is now on. If you still can't see them, then put theme tsk files in Windows directory (sure work).

Enterprise if I am not mistaken is for some business transaction thingy, not too sure but no people seems to use it anyway, isn't it? If Notes 2007 you are referring to Office OneNoteMobile 2007 then the answer is no. Have included notepad and I have a cab for OneNoteMobile 2007 if you are keen on it.

ROM set-up. Really awesome work. The theming/skinning is very nice (I'm using Greenland Meteor) and the whole thing operates smoothly even at 201 MHz. Great job! ;)

this ROM is super far-out, the best by far so far. The more i play with it, the better its becoming. Its really responsive and even with 8mb pagepool, i boot up with 20.2mb as opposed to 18.9 with 14g (with exactly the same startups).

Can't wait for the plain vanilla one. Wouldn;t mind reinstalling all over again :)

Hi maroO...Touch Settings are normally built in the ROM, isn't it. One possible reason your installation had failed is that the .dll file you are updating is still used by Windows and prevent your access to it.. Try to close all related programs, soft reset the device and try installation again. It might work.

plus this is the only rom so far that allows biocube and ftouchflo to co-exist yippee.

as a result i have about 8-10mb more ROM space as compared to other roms (sans original shipment rom); have 38.2mb left after installing all programs.

Hi thescum... that's a good news and yes I have tested this ROM can work with HTC Home Customiser by emuntz before using it. Anymore, I have make a vanilla version of this ROM.. removed quite a number of programs (Windows Live, Phonepad, Transcriber, Voice Speed Dial, HTC Home UI, Advanced Configuration, ringtones and theme files... Now flashing it and testing...

hi steve... after deleting the registry key "QuickDial" you need to wait for 3~5 mins for the device to register the changes. Then do a soft reset and all the 6 tabs should be there...

Yes, it's best to CID unlock. After that, just download the ROM file from here, connect your phone, make sure the activesync icon is green and run the ROM Update Utility. You should backup your contacts and stuff before flashing.

when i click the music tab from the home screen i have to 'launch music player' each time.
This opens the music player.
i set a tune to play and close the player to go back to the tab, however this stops teh music and loses details of the song.
this did not happen with previous ROMs where you could start/stop the music fom the home screen.

If you are not installing Batterystatus, one way of showing it on the title bar is using Advanced Configuation Tool in the Accessories folder of Program. This is how to do it:
Go Start--.Prgram-->Accessories-->Adv Config->Appearance-->Show on title bar-->Scroll down and select "Battery"-->Done

Battery bar will show in title bar instead of Time.. Hope it helps..:)

Hi steve, thank you for your compliments on the ROM. Now going back to your query. Your music player or rather audio manager close because you set yout Task Manager to "End programs by tapping X". You can set it to "End programs by tapping and holding X" and you can have the music play in the background when you tap "X".

However, now you have to remember to "tap & hold" programs that you want to close or they will run in the background and eats up your program memory. Another way is not to tap close and use the "Start" to get to your other program leaving the audio manager playing in the background... Hope that will help.;)

No Fchen, the battery bar with % showing is from an application called BatteryStatus which is not in the ROM. Putting this in ROM seems to be problematic and it's was intentionally left out. Advanced Config only set the battery bar on title bar but don't show %. Click on the icon and it will bring you to the battery status page.

No problem with WIFI before with this ROM. You may want to check your settings and the router. My home WIFI router just gave up on me last week without warning..:(

HI MaroO, I didn't use the Touch setting before. I will try it and let you know. thescum had suceessfully installed and use it though. One possibility to your problem might be it crashes with some of the applications installed by yourself. Maybe you can list what you installed. One application that gives alot of problem is Wisbar2 and Wisbar3.

It is possible there is an application(s) that is the culprit to make a machine slows down. I believe each ROM from these great chefs has it own advantage.

have had the pleasure of trying just about every other ROM here (the pdaviets 10g, 12g, 14g, seksona's 1st and 2nd roms, Rishi's plain vanilla (i liked this), official roms 11 and 17, transformer rom 1.0), and must say that this is the stablest, and most responsive one yet.

14g was quite laggy (bearable though; and i haven't tried 15G) comparing to previous Seksona's 2nd ROM, but i thought this was due to some other software like ftouchflo. with this rom, i have no issues with speed. FtouchFlo works harmoniously with biocube (first time, for me).

14G has the same 35 apps installed in ROM as Swiftblade's ROM (BTR) (identical versions, and upxed)

The like for like comparison.

ROM:
14G - 27.8mb
BTR - 37.5mb

The main reason why 14g took up 10mb of space is due to redundancy. i have a peculiar style where i like to incoporate htc home into pocketbreeze so that i can have phonealarm too, i had to install htc homeplugin on top of the resident rom one so that i could unlock it. Also wanted blue icons, amongst others.

14G - 20.8mb (with 4mb pagepool)
BTR - 19.2mb (and this too with 8mb pagepool)

Bootup:
14g - 1min 55 sec

But don't just take it from me. Backup your 14G, flash BTR and try it. If you don;t like it, reflash 14g and restore your previous good 14g backup.

Just tried the vanilla version I am affraid.

Hi LittleBigBen (I feel weird typing your nick...haha), you can use SIPChange application provided in the Full Version ROM to start it up automatically instead of default keyboard.

Go to Start-->Programs-->Accesories-->SIPChange-->Select Resco keyboard-->Press SELECT tab and it's done. Wait for a few minutes, do a reset and your Resco will be the default keyboard from there on till you reset it again.

Anyway, which version you are using? SIPChange installation cab is at the 2nd post if you are using the Vanilla ROm

I can now confirm that there is no issue with WIFI access with this build. It was my router for some strange reason. A simple restart fixed the problem.

Now all I need to do is get my external speaker fixed as it is broken (hardware issue under warranty). I hope it will not take long. :-(

I really didn;t know what "re-activate the Homeplugin" meant so I deleted the registry, went to "AdvancedConfig", went to the "Home" tab, deselected the "Favourite People" option and performed the required soft reset.

After the soft reset I went back into "AdvancedConfig", checked the "Favourite People" option and soft reset it again.

After that I saw all six mini tab buttons.

hi daverage... After deleting the registry key [HKLM/Software/OEM/MASD/QuickDial] using Regedit apps, wait for a few minutes (Windows CE only update changes on its registry every few minutes)then do a soft reset and it should work. If I have the time, I do a registry fix cab on to resolve the minor bug.

You will lose all your applications and data when you flash a new ROM. This apply to original as well as cooked ROM like this one.

You can backup all your data and applications using spb backup but it is highly not advisable to restore applications and programs to a different ROM. This will corrupt the ROM. However, restoring your PIM such as contacts and appointments are absolutely fine.,

Active sync keeps installers of all the apps on your phone, so you will be able to restore most with ease. Just make sure it has a good backup of your contact and pim stuff!!
I never flashed the rom till yesterday and I am so glad that I did!!!

HI MaroO, I didn't use the Touch setting before. I will try it and let you know. thescum had suceessfully installed and use it though. One possibility to your problem might be it crashes with some of the applications installed by yourself. Maybe you can list what you installed. One application that gives alot of problem is Wisbar2 and Wisbar3.
To check for possible conflict, I reflashed my Touch several while installing Touch Settings (Biotouch configuration: change icons, titles etc...) before anything else at each time. It failed everytime. I soft-resetted and shutdown the Touch several and it wouldn't work. :(

I now have several things installed: HTC Album, OneNote, PocketRSS and BatteryStatus but they were all installed after several tries with Touch Settings were done.

BatteryStatus works fine. On other ROMs I used to keep it at 273Mhz but on this ROM 247Mhz is fine :)

The ROM has re-directed a number of file locations to the storage card to save some storage memory. This includes temporary internet files, history, cookies and emails. If you surf the internet, it will look for IE files in your storage card and that probably caused your problem.

Using batterystatus to overclock to 247 or 260Mhz is usually OK. I myself overclock it to 260Mhz. But how high you can overclock depends on the impurities in each device. You can try to overclock slowly in steps starting with a low speed of 234Mhz ans slowly work your way upwards.. VERY IMPORTANT: Do not check "overclock on reboot" until you have founc a stable speed. Most people overclock it between 247 ~ 273Mhz. Do read up before diving in....

Anyone else have any issues surfing the web or connecting to their Exchange server after the update?

I can 'connect' to my WiFI router (shows up as connected) but when I try to do anything that requires the web it does not work. I can surf and connect to my Exchange server when connected via USB and GPRS though.

Perhaps it is an issue on my end and I will investigate it when I get back home. Anyone else experience a similar problem?

Try these:

1. Turn off the device by pressing and holding the power button.
2. Replace your mircoSD in your Touch.
3. Turn on your device.
4. Use Total Commander or File Explorer to create two new folders "cacheie" and temp in the Storage Directory.
5. Do a soft reset and see whether it works.

Failing which then do a Hard Reset or re-flash the ROM.

Hi k3nn4.. No formating of SD is required. Just leave your SD in your device as it is when you flash the new or updated ROM and it should work fine..Remember to do CID unlock first before your flash the new ROM. Enjoy!

You can try No.2 with the brightness fix but the icon set are different from those used in the full version. If you want the iphone icons, just copy the the icons from the "iphone-Touch Icon Pack" in the 2nd post to the HTCHome Directory and overwrite them. Cheers..

This ROM is only OS. No new radio is included in the ROM and so you should be retaining the same radio in the device before you flash.

I don't remember SipChange (self-installed, not in rom) ever giving me this problem to make Phone Pad the default until this version of the rom.

To get by this, I am currently using Zenyee Sip Select and placing a shortcut in \Windows\Startup folder to call SipSelect.exe to make Phone Pad the current SIP (thanks to TheScum for this).

Hi gohyc, good to see another fellow countryman here..:D Yes, you are right. In the processing of transferring the files during the building of ROM, I forget to put the SIPChange in \Windows\Startup.

A siimple fix for it:

Hi wongh_hk, the full version is recommended for most people who immediately after flashing can use start to use the phone without additional manual installation. Vanilla version is more a base ROM for those who prefer to install their own applications over what is offered in the full version.

The differences in applications installed in the full and vanilla ROMs can be found in the first post. Those applications marked with asterick (*) are not in the Vanilla version.

Hi gohyc, good to see another fellow countryman here..:D Yes, you are right. In the processing of transferring the files during the building of ROM, I forget to put the SIPChange in \Windows\Startup.

A siimple fix for it:
Use Total Commander to copy the SIPChange.lnk file from the Windows Directory to \Windows\Startup\ and it should works..

1. Firstly, you must have the Shipped ROM (original) 1.11.403.1B.Dan or any shipped Touch WWE ROM.
2. Use Sprite Spb Backup to backup your ROM to Storage Card or PC. (CID Unlock is not needed during backup)
3. Get a custom ROM of your liking.
4. Do a CID Unlock using pof's tool. (Follow the instructions closely)
5. Flash your selected custom ROM to your device. The device will auto restart after a successful flash.
6. Now have fun with your new ROM.
Caution: Do Not Restore your backup if the update is successful. It may corrupt your new clean ROM

Fail To Update to New ROM
1. Do a soft reset. Your ROM, installed programs and data are intact.
2. If reset failed after several attempt, do a hard reset using bootloader (tr-color screen) by holding down Green and Red Call Keys together and using stylus to activate reset.
3. Connect to your PC and flash your selected Shipped ROM.
4. Restore back your programs and data using Sprote Backup
5. You are back in business. Try out another custom ROM?

I have downloaded the game and tried it out last night. On closer examination, I discovered that there is a missing "setup.exe" file in your folder. The setup.exe should allow you to enter some 8-digit registration code to overcame the "not signed certifcate" issue. You should be using the "setup.exe" file to install the game instead of "bejeweled-ppc-2.50v.exe" file. Try to locate the setup.exe file which is probably in your PC somewhere or from the site you downloaded.

have had the pleasure of trying just about every other ROM here (the pdaviets 10g, 12g, 14g, seksona's 1st and 2nd roms, Rishi's plain vanilla (i liked this), official roms 11 and 17, transformer rom 1.0), and must say that this is the stablest, and most responsive one yet.

14g was quite laggy (bearable though; and i haven't tried 15G) comparing to previous Seksona's 2nd ROM, but i thought this was due to some other software like ftouchflo. with this rom, i have no issues with speed. FtouchFlo works harmoniously with biocube (first time, for me).

14G has the same 35 apps installed in ROM as Swiftblade's ROM (BTR) (identical versions, and upxed)

The like for like comparison.

ROM:
14G - 27.8mb
BTR - 37.5mb

The main reason why 14g took up 10mb of space is due to redundancy. i have a peculiar style where i like to incoporate htc home into pocketbreeze so that i can have phonealarm too, i had to install htc homeplugin on top of the resident rom one so that i could unlock it. Also wanted blue icons, amongst others.


RAM:
14G - 20.8mb (with 4mb pagepool)
BTR - 19.2mb (and this too with 8mb pagepool)

Bootup:
14g - 1min 55 sec
BTR - 1min 38 sec

But don't just take it from me. Backup your 14G, flash BTR and try it. If you don;t like it, reflash 14g and restore your previous good 14g backup.

Yes, I did flash BTR and using it from the date you posted to yesterday.
I like the icons of BTR so I made a copy to my PC.

I found (it is my experience and opinion) it is not any appreciable faster than PDAViet ROM. Memory leak is quite severe compared to PDAViet ROM.
As I said before, the chefs of these ROM's did not write the OS so they are not to blame for basic OS problem. Why one ROM will be faster than other still puzzles me. This morning, I flash PDAViet 16G. It surely has it own theme and icons. So I copy BTR icons and themes to 16G, replaced its Welcome screen. It uses 4mb page pool, it leaves plenty (more) memory than BTR, battery drain is excellent and so far quite happy with it.

I have to thank to all these great chefs who provide us with all these excellent custom ROM's. I really hate my Touch at the beginning with it tiny amount of storage memory. With these customer ROMs, I am quite happy with it now.

One question- when I restored my settings using Sprite software it overwrites all the applications listed in Start menu/Programs. I got round this by doing the ROm update again and then copying the shortcuts to my Pc before doing a restore and then copying them back into that folder.

Anyway, thanks for this great ROM and all your work !

Yes, it is not advisable to use Sprite Backup to restore back your old system data to a new ROM as they might be set up differently and you actually overwrite all the settings and registry keys of the new ROM. If it is a same ROM then it is fine. Restoring PIM data such as contacts and emails are OK.

However it is possible to play these files with windows media player. Do you have a suggestion for it? My opinion is that because of "storage card1 and 2" which comes with AdvancedConfig, HTC Audio Manager can not find the music files in storage card 1 and it doesn't search storage card 2. What should I do to play my musics again?:rolleyes:

Hi markiraz... some of your steps in wrong. Do not restart your device after USPL. Here is what you do:

1. Download and run USPL.
2. Stop at Step No.2 when running USPL (That's when you get see and penguin and the screen turn white. DO NOT RESTART OR RESET YOUR DEVICE)
3. Leave the device connected in USB port.
4. Unzip the NEW_Blue_WWE_18508 and run RomUpdateUtility.exe
5. When update finish, youe device will re-start and yopu got your new ROM..

heya bro, nothing compared to how you've been helping us :)

the touchpal sip, i didn't quite take to it, wished they had a 12keypad version. plus i have this huge issue of porting over 800 custom words from intellipad.udb over. One of the primary reasons i haven't moved over to HTC Touch keypad/keyboard (mainly cos the files i thought were storing the words, weren't able to incorporate my words via a direct port).


EDIT* Had a second bite at the cherry, mainly coz you were raving about it, and i find that you are right, its growing on me, will take my time and key in the necessary words as and when i want. Will give you a verdict for me after a coupla days. Thanks once again for the recommend, its visually stunning.

Did you see the penguin and the screen slowing turning to white? Something it may not succeed the first time. Soft reset your device and try again.

The next step will load a patched bootloader (SPL) on your device

Hit ENTER to continue...

Phone screen should now be blank and the activesync icon gray
if not, the loading procedure has failed and you'll have to repeat again.

If all was OK hit ENTER and the standard "PDA Phone ROM Update Utility"
window will start, allowing you to flash patched SPL on your device.

Hit CTRL+C to Cancel or ENTER to continue... <-- STOP HERE!
(DO NOT RESET your device and proceed with updating
with new Blue Touch ROM from here)

Follow the steps on the wizard to flash the patched SPL, when this
step completes your device will reboot.

STEP 3/3 - Launching RUU, please wait...

One last try mark:

1. After Step 2/3 of USPL, copy "RUU_Signed.nbh" from New_Blue_WWE_18508 folder into the RUU folder inside Elf_USPL folder.

2. Then remove Elf_USPL_v1.nbh out the RUU folder.

3. Proceed with Step 3/3 of USPL (Launching RUU....)

But when configuring, I couldn't find my country "Egypt" in the list of countries in the "Network Wizard" :confused:, thus I can't adjust my mobile provider. So, I had to rollback to my old ROM.

I hope if Swiftblade resolve this issue, or till me how to bypass it.

just found out (by way of playing with touchpal a bit more), if your custom words includes numbers, periods, slashes, it will not work. (i.e. wm3se will cause the sip to fail to load)

the custom word list is stored in the program folder's "engdict_usr.txt"
so i took off all these punctuations and now it works ok, ported everything (well 99% over).

it will work with dashes, apostrophes. am a happy camper now.

I'm seeing you liking the new Touchpal already..:D I find the keying in Touchpal more responsive and with abit of getting use to will definitely easier and faster to use than phonepad. Touch Dual keyboard is still buggy at the moment. Right now is free and with a smaller footprint of about 745kb only.

Hi moszain... I didn't realise that Egypt is not included in the Network Wizard until you mentioned. I will try to resolve that in my next update. The quickest fix right now if you are still keen on using thei Blue Touch ROM is to install the Network Wizard that came with the official ROM. I attach the installation cab here if you are interested.

After using the device for about a week, it has 4 mb left. I don't use BS, I only have PocketBreeze installed, but I've been using that with other roms as well :)

with touchpal, we can upx the touchpal.dll, from 731kb to 127kb.
that's a savings of 600kb +. And it'll work fine :)

The only problem i have is with my w100 remote: none of the keys work - no problems with other roms and the w100.

tried the 202 official rom for about 2hours, then decided to switch back to BTR. Not a prob, coz i backed up before trying out the official 202 rom.

Wasn't impressed, and found BTR pretty much more responsive than this official update.

the upside's that at least now i have the latest radio rom :)
