Yesterday I paired my Qtek 8500 with Sony Ericsson K610i. I just did ordinary pairing, nothing else. I did not install any apps or so. Just clean pairing you all know. Few minutes later I wanted to write an email, so I went to the SMS box and wanted to press number 2 to open Outlook Email in Qtek. However I noticed that all numbers changed into the letters which you can see in this picture:

Well that wont be too big deal, only if it was just SMS. After comming home, I noticed the same everywhere in my cellphone. For example, in ActiveSync I pressed the right button and then 6 and it started ActiveSync synch via BlueTooth. Now I cannot use the shortcuts, I have to press up or down button. That pretty sucks.

Like I said, I did NOT install anything. I just paired the cellphones. Only paired, I didn't even discover available services for them. Just paired. So I think it's not worth of master reset.
And YES, I tried to remove pairing with Sony Ericsson. But no change...

I hope somebody can help.. Thanks in advance!

Well, this switch from nubers to alphabet letters happens to me every time I connect my BT keyboard using the HID profile. As I remember it stucked once on the phone even after disconnecting and restart of the phone. I have managed somehow turn back to normal. I think it was some registry value. Im gonna try to look fot that. ;)

EDIT:
Here are my tips:
1) Try to pair the devices and disconnect/unpair the devices correctly - hope it will switch back to normal
2) or simply change the HasKeyBoard DWORD to 0 in registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell and restart

Thanks a lot, it works. I can't unpair my device because I need to test from time to time some accessories in my work on both phones (working for Sony Ericsson)
