I would like to know why there are no cooked ROMs for the star trek.
Is it purely not enough owners? Or is there some other reason?
I think I remember reading that HTC had some kind of protection against cooked ROMs? How come only in this phone?

At the moment, there is no way to bypass the SPL lock on this phone. SIM and SuperCID unlock are no problem, but to flash a modified ROM for this phone, like all others requires either a patched SPL (bootloader) or a completely modified SPL that ignores signautre authentication of the ROM.

Some of the forum members believe that an SPL mod is possible, but testing it comes at the expense of losing a phone (bricking it). We have half a dozen or so forum members willing to take the risk for the good of the cause, so we are waiting on the developers who think they can do it to roll out some trial plans.

Rest assured, once the SPL is patched or modified, this phone will get WM6 and cooked ROMs shortly thereafter. Stay tuned. . . . . . .

How come all of the other phones it is so quick on? Is this just one of the less popular ones? It has been out for quite a while! The Kaiser was all ready to go super fast! Well, it is good that it will soon be possible!
I am thinking of getting either a Cingular 2125 (HTC Typhoon, just a Tornado - WiFi) or a Cingular 3125, since I can get it them for cheap from Premier. Was wondering which to get!

Typhoon and Tornado already have WM6. You may want to look at those. I have a Typhoon and have it running Sp3Dev's WM6 with good success. I sometimes use this a back-up phone to my Dopod U1000.

Hmm actually the 2125 isn't a typhoon. I do not quite know what it is. Maybe just a tornado - wifi? Maybe it doesn't have its own codename since that is exactly what it is?

Cingular 2125 is listed as a variant of the HTC Tornado in the WIKI. - FYI
