Have a Read here

.. to completely disable it use this zip
1. extract the folder .\disable_xT9\
2. connect device to PC
3. execute .\disable_xT9\start.bat
4. reset your device by pressing the off button for 5 sec

great job..on the rom dutty it runs pretty smooth...the first thing i noticed though is that when i use resco explorer or even file explorer...it's hard to select multiple objects at once...i have to press down with my stylus for a second or two and right when the object highlights i can then drag it down to highlight the others...whereas i usually just select and drag right away without any delay...it's also really hard to start your touchflo beta 2 as well...i works good when i can get it to show up but that sometimes is hard to do...don't know if thats the rom or the beta 2...

Runs fine on the Tilt but there is an issue with the keyboard mapping. The other keyboard fix does not appear to solve the problem (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334911) I am sure someone will fix this soon.

i think because it's the T9 function that messing it up...how do we disable the T9 type word completion...

I have not tried this rom yet. But i think you can disable T9 by doing the follow things:

Settings => Input => Word Completion => disable 'Suggest words when entering text'

Remove the Start Clean file from your \\windows\startup directory.

for some reason my A and O button on the keyboard isnt functioning properly. Instead of just typing the letter it types the letter and highlights it, so the next letter you type replaces the A and O. Is this just me? or has it happend to anybody else?

SMS it's okay after the soft reset, MMS it's not okay because i prepared it, i inserted picture taken from camera but when i tried to send it nothing happened. :confused:

The operator settings are correct, i verified them.

I have been lurking around these parts for quite some time, first time poster! I have tried out most of the roms so far. Great work here. As others have mentioned MMS is an issue, but frankly I don't use it so I will just wait to flash a corrected version. would love to see your cube rom come along. Even from a clean install of this rom I could not get your aplha 2 cube working.

Also agree with the other poster to suggest adding java! For my taste worldcard is easy enough to add from a cab. I personally like worldcard, but I have a real use for it. I am sure many find a biz card scanner totally useless!

Keep up the cooking buddy, it rocks! Well hell so far at least they have all rocked. Amazing scene around here!

I took out the world card scanner as I thought about it as well will be added as a add cab. too much a big file I dont even use it.

this is a great ROM dutty...once you get the kinks worked it will probably be the best one out compared to the others...

instead of java intent manager can you just leave that one out and offer different ones as cabs so people can use the one that they like...i use jbed which i have set up real nice with opera mini...

also, is it just me that experience when copying or selecting text or multiple files doesn't seem to be as smooth...is it a touch screen setting or something...

Yes, I'm also wondering if Beta2 will have HTC cube and Touchflo. I think once the kinks are worked out, these two programs can work as flawlessly as does the HTC Touchflo phone. Sure has the capability...

I will do the touchflo has soon as I sort some minor bits out. The Rom so far is ok the only thing holding me back is the mms bug which is taking me quiet a while dont understand it. I will be working on a lite version but will be working on The Touchflo version first as This Rom is fully loaded and still gotl loads of storage memory which is very good.:D

I am not at home but I was so determine to get the mms bug fix I found a temporary fix which is working 100% by installing it over by a mms cab I had put away. I can upolad the cab now for you guys to test if it work for you and when I reach home I can create a mms package and see if it works cooking in the rom.

Just sentabout 10 mms and recieved both soft resettinga and turning the phone off. Since thats is solve now I should be ready to get beta2 release by tonight if everything works ok.

Are You sure as I am using the same rom now, unless I upload a beta touch rom with the new touch.dll by accident, the rom is not buggy either I upload the wrong rom with the experimenting touch.dll but I'm sure i didnt. either way i will upload the correct one again.

Can anyone else confirm this.

try to enter bootloader by pressing the power button+camera key+soft rest
then plug in the usb and start to flash

hold camera + power and push the reset button with stylus while holding the buttons, then release just stylus. Release all buttons when in bootloader then run flash tool.

you dont need to Flash hardSPL again, if you flashed it already you can flash or reflash any ROM anytime you like.

Can someone explain to me the desire for the cube? It adds nothing over the HTC Home and takes up a LOT of resources. Other than a gimmick, it's pointless IMO.

I was looking forward to using this ROM until I saw that it would eventually be added.

I had problems with bluetooth not starting and wifi loosing connection frequently in beta 1.I hope this is fixed in the beta 2

I found out the the touchflo cube works without even one black screen since i installed it. i even did 5, 6 soft resets and everytime the cube works fine. but before this rom i had helmi's rom and i got black screen 50% of the time.
the rom would be better if some junk programs get removed like HTC action screen, PIM backup and sms backup.

EDIT- Especially xT9 Should be removed. crappy app, messes with original T9.

EDIT- "Modem Link" app sometimes wont load up properly. after opening program, it still shows the menu, but it's really in the app, and you cant see the options.

I will look into some apps coming out but as we got so much memory and the Rom is working ok apart from few bits i didnt think it would harm putting few essential apps for everyone to use. If you dont use them you can delete them from program files. Modem link i have never used but i will look into a fix for that as well. thanks for your fesdbacks.

touchkey board I like just need getting use to, If you just use the normal keyboard it doesnt affect you.

Pretty good rom man, everything is working fine, stable and fast, had to put back the worldcard mobile, and the JB java applications. All the new HTC apps rock :D

I'm not sure if it will work but I just replaced the files with another version and also replaced the drivers for it, I will be uploading a new fix rom with the calculator fix and with my test with the modem link in about 45 mins before I go work

keep in mind this is a beta rom. this is why its still beta...he wants to knwo what we like and what we dont. no need to be harsh about it....we all know the xt9 sht sucks. infact there is a post in this thread on how to uninstall it. once uninstalled this rom shines....better than any available right now.

I'm not at home but is it everyone who is affected by the vibrate bug, Also was this present in the beta 1, I havent changed anything that much in the Rom so I dont know why this occurred, I will have to retrace by step or start over agin if I cant find the solution.

Looks like both beta 2's are affected. I am on the regular one without vibrate, and I read about another person on the lite not having vibrate.

I think the screen alignment has problems too. and when you want to align the screen manually it wont work. it hangs!

Edit- another thing, when you do a soft reset, the recent programs list which appears on the start menu, will be deleted, i haven't seen this in other roms, usually it keeps the list if you do a soft reset.

recent programs gets deleted by start clean after every soft reset, you can delete it in startup folder

ps Just alighn manually and no issues works perfect.

Prior to flashing beta 2 I was using Helmi's latest. I'd installed the Touch keyboard cab that The Lone Ranger posted the other day. All was well.

I could use the xt9 text input if I wanted to, or I could slide out the keyboard and use that. Both worked fine.

On this rom, as has been mentioned, they don't sit happily together. I know registry tweaks have been posted to turn off xt9, but that's going to break the Touch keyboard, yes?

I guess the ultimate goal would be to have both working. For now, I need to go back to Helmi's rom (got quite comfortable with the xt9 pad).

Edit: Actually, I'm going to try your lite rom + cab first.

You can add the icon to comm manager via advanced configuration, but it doesn't work. it is missing some files in windows folder.

before you release the rom the htc action screen shortcut in the programs folder does not have an icon just a blank square...can you add an icon to this program before you release the next rom...and just to let you know regarding the vibrate issue...just in case you don't know but it also doesn't work on the full beta 2 version...doesn't work on vibe by itself and with vibe and ring...just fyi, in case you needed input...i know you said you fixed it but you'll never know...

also, can this be a fix just through a cab file or do we have to reflash the whole rom...it would be nice to have both as an option so we don't have to reinstall everything just for the vibe option...TIA

The Fixed vibrate full rom is located in first post , I will Release the fix lite rom later. i had to re-do The rom as i could locate the vibrate problem so i cant create a cab just for that

There are some thing you should rebuild for the next one, as follows:

- Vibration.
- To change icon of Soft-Reset (it is the same as Adv. Configuration).
- To create icon of sliding sound.
- To change the current icon of Power with the nice one?
- To create new icon for HTC Action Screen.

the first is HTC album it freeze or came back always on the first picture,
the second is can't get wifi connection

This is such a great job, I am running it even though it breaks my Sling Player.

Not sure what is going on, but it is the only rom that does this.

I can install and even run the Sling Player app - but I get the error message "Cannot connect to SlingBox". I've uninstalled, re-installed, went back to other roms (they work by the way), connect via GPRS and WiFi and still get the same result on this rom.

Can you or one of the other faithful help?

Also Beta3 has hung on me twice so far. Beta 1 or 2 never did this, once on the network configuration wizard, and once when using the modem link stuff.

Also this xT9 stuff is really doing my nut, does no-one else have issues with it? cant use the keyboard as everytime you type a vowel it hangs up asking you silly crap..... oh well, might give the light rom a go, it's not in that after all ;)

Dutty, great ROM, thank you! Seriously, my favorite so far and I've tried them all. I'm using Beta 3, full version. So far, all is well. I've noticed one thing:

- In the Messaging Application, when you click "Menu" there is an entry just below "Send/Receive" that reads "(A)" and when I click on it, it takes me to the MMS configuration.

Not a problem, more of an annoyance, but that's the only problem I've had so far. I've been putting it through the ringer, so far it's great.

Is there any other way to kill T9 and force the 20 key single qwerty? I really want this keyboard!! Is there a document showing the reg tweaks needed?? Thanks for any help!

It is not there in the Helmi_C helmi_kaiser_aku.0.7.0_04_dynamic.exe rom and it is the same version. Is not it that the version your rom is being constructed from ?

in the mms settings when you go to the allowed file size in server settings there are no entries and when you try to ok them the screen just stays?

This is the best ROM to date that i have tried, but something is weird with the HTCHomeplug, only 2 icons appear. Anyone know of a quick fix?

Only two icons appear what are you talking about. its a 6 tab customisable homeplug which you can customise in phone> settings>htchome and you can select your favourite shortcuts from the homeplug. Explain more.:confused:

Mine did this too - it looked like the system tray, but as a Today Plugin. Had about three blank icons, then comm manager, then rotate screen, I think. Turned off the Homeplug, and it went away.

This was on the full rom, not lite.

Only problem I have is that I did not see how to turn off the sound when you slide open the keyboard. Am I missing something here?

ok I understand this is the other small homeplug with the comm manager and battery settings, you can just disable it through settings

I don't know if this is specific to this rom, but this is the rom I'm using.

I've set my phone to the correct time zone (Mountain Time, -7 GMT), I have also set the option to automatically update time.

It seems no matter what time zone I've tried (Arizona, Dener, all -7 GMT) my text messages are stamped exactly one hour earlier no matter what I do.

I'm on AT&T 3G network, receiving texts from multiple people on various networks, always stamped one hour behind when I go to read them.

Anyone know how to fix this?

just installed beta 3 and a couple of things i noticed right away..

And for me I still cannot connect to the SMS/MMS server in beta2 or beta3. this is on my Tilt. Actually in beta3 I would get garbled SMS messages.

Flashed to the stock HTC ROM and SMS is fine.

the first is HTC album it freeze or came back always on the first picture,
the second is can't get wifi connection
the third is the option french keyboard in advanced configuration==>others doesn't work in both means in virtual keypad and the real one.
the fourth the quickgps doesn't work

May I ask though, why is Internet Phone missing?

T-mobile ripped it out of the Vario III but for me, it was a big factor in replacing my Nokia E61.

Getting Internet Phone working would put this phone way beyond expectations.

I was running Helmi's 1.57.00.04, and even after the reload, it still says im running this version. Infact it even says this under device info.

SMS and MMS are working with the full final but now I have no internet/3G so explorer doesn't work. neither does email.

Any ideas on why?

EDIT: Had to select Media net in connections and that got it going.

Hi Dutty,

Why is that i cannot play any (.WMV) file type using your Beta Version where else i didn't have any problem using Helmi's ROM. Each time i try to play WMV file it shall pop up " invalid or codec missing...". Correct me if i'm wrong, isn't it suppose to be able to play without any 3rd party plug-in. Beside that splendid ROM you cook Dutty. May i know if you are gonna incorporate your beta Cubby Cab in your next future ROM??

MAJOR BUG- in the final lite version, in the power app the option that let you disable charging while conneting to computer is missing!! that's unacceptable!!
and the whole app is kind of laggy and the default colored battrymeter looked better. another bug in this app is that the power app wont open by a single tap on the battery icon you have to hold it down. please change it back to the default version. it was more stable!!

EDIT- HTC action key still has no icon.
and the keyboard sliding app is still missing.

Edit- Where is the Soft-reset app! it was very finger friendly!
And the GPS photo and the rotation bug and the picture folder bug, which were the important registry tweaks doesn't seem to be fixed in this rom even in the previous roms.

So I lost the ability to sync in vista :confused: , versions 1 , 2 , & 3 worked well final killed the sync. e.g. the computer has no clue the phone is even there...no beeping, no device center, etc. Xp active sync 4.5 works fine albit slowly though on the same computer (tri-boot). Anyone else having problems? Dutty you're the bomb thank you for all the wonderful enlightment and time you've spent helping us in the forums :-)
