Helmi's AT&T Rom Won't Let Me Use Activesync

Everytime I connect my PC to the phone via USB cable, I get a message from XP saying,

"USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."

Activesync never goes green and I can't flash my phone to a more stable ROM. I just got my TILT 2 days ago and really don't want to be stuck with such a slow ROM. I flashed the phone to the HTC AKU bigstorage ROM before this and everything worked fine. It's just when I tried to flash to the AT&T Rom did I run into this problem.

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried rebooting your PC?

If rebooting the PC doesn't do it you may need to completely re install activesync itself. Worked for me....

I reinstalled activesync and now it works.

BTW, is there a way to stop Activesync blinking my programs in and out from being selected on my PC?

setting -> connections ->usb to pc -> uncheck a mark. this should help.

the best idea - change rom to htc, faster, more relible, no sync problems.
