I'm having horrible problems with my vario3! People can't even call me, says that i'm unavailable... sometimes it won't send text messages, I can't make calls on it!

I'm going to send it back and see if they can fix it. My second vario so far.... first one kept on freezing.

Has anyone got the full t-mobile rom? I want to flash my phone to see if that helps but I want to be able to get back to factory t-mobile rom if I need to send it back for warranty.

The thing I've most noticed about this radio stack is the improvement to BlueTooth. It seems to hold onto 3g/hsdpa signals better as well.

But radio ROM isn't related to BT or Wifi functions...

Anyone have tried this Radio ROM and can post compared results with the 1.27.12.11 about 3G coverage and battery consumption?

Thanks.

First impression 3G signal are more stable(first only one line power) at this moment same position have a maximus power, no disconnession and work very good, and more better reception.
For battery report, wait same day of use.

As per the other replies, I too am experiencing better hold on signal.

I also note that the radio seems to update loss of signal faster than .11

(Installed on an unbranded HTC TyTN II - UK)

I want to upgrade to this, but am a bit of a noob, I read the HardSPL thread, but still have some concerns.

I have a T-Mobile Locked Vario III, running their default rom. How can I go about upgrading to this radio, and will it Brick me?

Also would upgrading to this rom bork my warranty / insurance?

Yes, first is necessary unlock the phone, via CidUnlock, second install this radio rom.

Yes this operation invalidate the warranty, apart the official Htc rom release, the warranty is OK.

Oddly enough, I've found that the signal quality where I work in Canary Wharf has dropped significantly since changing from 11 to 17.

Has anyone got the original v11 so I can revert back to it?

I stupidly didn't make a backup of mine :(

Thanks. I'll give it a go tonight.

Just to confirm, now I'm back at work in Canary Wharf today. The signal strength is awful, I know it's a cloudy day but when the guy sat next to me using the same phone and old ROM has 5 bars and can pick up 3G and HSDPA and I cant get more than two bars and my 3G is intermittent, it tells me that this .17 Radio ROM isn't suitable for me.

Do any other users in London have the same problem ??
