I'm returning to forum and need to sort my XDA out, after doing numberous 'builds' on it all which revealed a new set of bugs I gave up and went to a N95 which just worked.

I need to get the XDA going again in a reliable manner, I have a car mount, ext gps, 4300mah battery, copilot live 6 (real copy!) and want to sell it. But I need some decent OS on it and fancy putting 6 on it (UK version).

Can anyone recomend an ext/radio set that will work and not create all sorts of strang problems that have to be hacked or lived with?

Really apprecaite advice, I have been on here an hour but the variety and the 'it works great' followed by 'it's full of bugs' type comments have just confused me on choice!

Greg.

ahh..the ancient question of 'best rom'..

i'm using nncuong's "UNI_2_11_10_G3" based on Core 5.2.1921 (Build 18521.0.7.0).
only reason for me to continue using it is bcuz i find my XDA hang much LESS frequently with it, and that it is of the latest core.
did try the G3+G4 version of his, but it has stability issues (hangs) as far as i've tested, so i'm avoiding that myself.

the versions from other cooker, i'd experience intermittent hangs in every one or two days (if not shorter).
other than that, i guess it's all up to one's personal preference..

Second this, I also get confused a bit by all those different versions. What I want is a version that is stable enough for every day work, has windows live, has office, but does not include any other fancy app's that have no purpose other then just having them :)...

Really want someone who can give me a nice and easy comparison of all...
Went back to WM5 now.. had a problem after flashing it so back to original now, did the UNI_unlock thingy and i'm now SuperCID or something :D

thx in advance

But.
These are excellent works and for free.
Rom moderators uses their times for public usage.
Actually I've use RealVGA modded Rom
there is a lot of error ( Wifi, Phone , GPRS, battery ... )
Sometimes freezes on boot up.
These are my Rom's error.
other ones has other errors
Unofficial roms has always error :)

mean while
This wifi, gprs and boot error makes me crazy.
regards.

Officials have errors too though, and surprisingly more then unofficial from what i understand.
I suggest though going to nn's rom... to me it looks like the best option now.. But i don't know yet. First i need to get all things straight :)

Most of the stability issues we experience on these devices is caused by third party software  , though that said the ROM which seems to be the most stable with most of the software that I use is nncuong's ROM. :D So try it and see;) , should be far better than the earlier versions and much, much faster! :)

Oh and upgrade the radio ROM to either 1.15.00 or 1.17.00 and you really will be amazed by the increase in battery life and reception!
