my weather isnt working except for when i hook up through the computer ( active sync, usb cable) how do i get the weather to work for gprs ?
ive searched and nothing worked so far.

If you're using a proxy with your GPRS then it will never work, unfortunately.

Everyone that uses a proxy DOESN'T do it. It's unfortunate, because I also use a proxy. :(

I've tried a total of 4 times to flash touch-it 2.3 to my wing. I get to:

Try the USPL version. It's relatively safe. It works perfectly on most people.

I tried to flash the drive and load up this 2.3 version but failed to realize I should “hard connect” the wing phone to my pc (rather than run it through Bluetooth (should have been obvious but…I’m not the smartest bulb in the bunch)). So…long story short it when through the “format” on the device and the screen did go white however…I couldn’t establish an activesync session (green connection). So…it couldn’t repair and now I have a phone that simply stays at the “T Mobile” white screen. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this? I didn’t backup the phone but assuming I could get the operating system live again I my contacts are all in outlook so I’m fine there. Any super genius people out there with an idea??? I would greatly appreciate it…I’m now down to simply buying a new phone and moving on as my only option. :(

It's not supposed to get a green connection when you're running the USPL. It's supposed to "disconnect". Run the RUU provided. If it's stuck not booting, then hold down the camera button and press the soft reset. Then reflash the tmobile RUU.

No. The USPL is a temporary solution. You have to run it every time. It's an untraceable way to "unlock." It actually just runs on the devices RAM for the duration of the flash.

If it's in a OS.NB format and it's at least 51,200kb big, then you can follow my walkthrough to create an NBH and use that NBH in place of this NBH.

Great ROM, I uploaded it and it is running on my device. My question is now when I hit the green phone button it does not take me to the dial pad. Can someone help me??

I have rogers and the two recipients have Bell Canada. I dont think its a problem with the provider. Could be with the phone itself... either way its REALLY annoying.

Its the version of arcsoft that is the problem.

installed the .cab and made sure the phone did not sync with activesync but was connected.

A rar file is like a ZIP file. It's a compressed archive. Download WinRAR and use that to open the file.

The texting issue is actually because it was purposely disabled. Most of us text too much and find that "feature" annoying... hehe

That's your CPU running at a speed other than the exact default. Overclocking it helps make the noise go past your hearing range. Clocking the CPU to 201 should alleviate it, a bit, though.

after editing the registry i guess you "powercicle" instead of only softreset?? if not = press powerbutton for 5sec and aswer "yes" the turn on again.....

Which version of my rom did you try?

There is an issue with one of my version and should be fixed with the next release Open Touch v2.6.

I tried OpenTouch 2.5 just recently released. It is an awesome ROM, btw!

It would reset my phone once the phonebook started to download. I wouldn't care too much about that, but I use my phone in my car as part of my work a lot so its a necessity.

I even deleted all SIM contacts and phonebook contacts so I didn't have any contacts but still the soft reset occurred after the pairing was accepted and the phonebook attempted to download. I've scoured other web sites for this problem and others have had the problem with a variety of phones, but none of their solutions worked for me.

This is really strange,

I'm able to sync my stuff to outlook without issues.

Just to cover all bases, have you deleted and recreated a new profile for activesync?

Also, what about trying to reload activesync.

I guess i must have clicked off the error on my phones display before doing the hard reset, now its stuck on the T-mob screen. I can get into the hard reset screen, but not the bootloader. Anything I can do to revive this little guy? I'm so bummed...

I can't get into the boot loader, i tried as a test getting into the hard reset menu (which works) and pressing various keys as anything but send should take you out of the hard reset menu. Everything except the camera button sadly does... it seems as if the phone somehow caught a case of amnesia. Thanks for the quick reply, any other ideas?

HOLD DOWN the camera button while soft resettings and keeping the camera button held down until you see a rainbow screen.

So basically, push in the camera button, and dont let it go... keep it pushed in... while u take the stylus and poke thru the reset hole on the left side of the device

No love, even with the camera button held down the backlight comes on and it just stays on a static T-mob logo. no animation or sounds like it used to.

Yes sir, i am. Let me give you a little history since this is my fourth post. Ive been lurking here for the last three years ever since the SMT5600 was the lick. Which i might add is running WinMo 6 standard now =) I Also have a Wizard, Herald, and Excalibur (my favorite) all running custom roms. No problems there. I just can't get this guy into bootloader mode. Just kinda sits there looking all sickly with a static background. Oh yeah to answer your question, yes i poked the stylus through the small reset hole. Thanks for your efforts man! Any other ideas?

I was finally able to get into the bootloader! The camera button - stylus reset trick failed to work but i was determined. What i did was slide out the keyboard and one at a time held down the keys and soft reset, when this failed to work i randomly held down a combination of keys, said a quick prayer, and voila! that ugly RGB screen showed up with my IPL and SPL! Thanks for all your help David, Much appreciated! Unfortunately I have no idea what the key combo was, but its somewhere in the center of the keypad more to the right. Anyone know why this worked? I'm going with divine intervention =)

I searched and found the "Camera Album", but it is oreinted incorrrectly on my wing. How can i correct this issue?

Also, I have looked and can not seem to find that Comm Manager that you have, I tried to search and find some , but I don't seem able to find the correct one and my wing keeps telling me it does not have the right permissions. Do you have the .cabs for these programs?

Hey guys, I just did everything step by step, got no errors. I flashed the rom with formal release, read and installed the cab needed, soft reset and then upgraded. I got no errors (thank god) Hard resetted wing, went through the all the screens... but my wing still looks the same. Nothing changed, did I miss something???

I have tried this numerous times. I always end up with my startup screen hanging there. I have been re-flashing through the SD card. Inside this Touch Flo Kit that I got from a different thread. There is a file called os.nb...
I am guessing that it is a .nhb file?? couldn't I just change that to heraimg.nhb and write directly from the SD card??

After installing this ROM, my wing now seems to lock every time the screen goes dark, unless its plugged in.

The phone lock box under settings is not checked, and i have no pin number setup atm.

The device simply locks, asks me to select unlock, or press *

Is there a fix to this? Or some setting I am not aware of?

The ROM is really nice, the touchflo feature is great. But I have a couple things that maybe you can consider for the next version:
BUG*** When using active sync with bluetooth, when attempting to connect via USB the Sync crashes and there's no way of recovering unless by deleting the device from the bluetooth devices on the computer and adding it again (and resetting the device first)
FEATURE*** The original rom from Tmobile comes with the Microphone AGC and Voice Command 1.6 - Please add those since using Voice Command without noise cancelation is impossible! and Voice command is really nice for when driving.
FEATURE*** Add Live messenger!

this is an old rom? is there a newer touch it rom out there? everything seems to be working fine with this one aside from the mms not working

its annoying because most posts are errors other users are having with the initial installation, so i install then troubleshoot issues i have by using the search function, if i cannot find a solution either by search or going through the thread then I post a question because i am sure another user has already had this issue.

Dont get pissed off if you give a smartass response and receive a smartass response. We all just want to simplify the process instead of having to go back and forth like this.

Now, I had no idea about a new rom section, I just click on herald and try to load a rom that looks nice. Now I will try to become more familiar with this site but this is only the second time I have tried flashing my phone the first one almost a year ago.

Thank you though for your reply it is helpful and hopefully I can figure out this problem on my own, last thing i want to do is made to look like a fool again!:)

thank you, you have saved me a lot of searching aroundDon't get confused if your Wing keyboard isn't working properly.
It's because Herald and Wing uses different keyboard drivers.
Try to search for Duprade's keyboard fix that should help you.

Hi,

I am having a hard time changing settings on the cube. I am trying to launch music using sp2 instead of audio manager ( unless maybe somebody can actually tell me how to get audio manager to sort my music by folders) .

I changed the registry in the biotouch to the location of the s2p folder but it does not work. Is the cube hard wired in the rom and I can't change the original settings?

guys i need help. I dont know why but the screen rotation sound died or something. all i get it the regular sound that you get every time you try to do something that you cant do, for example click somewhere on the screen while an error message is on. you know, that single beep. i have a wing. First of all, thank you soo much for this! I've been thinking of doing this for months but was too scared.

I just need help adding a windows live email account. windows live doesn't exist on the programs and even when i try to add live mail from t-mobile set-up email or add new email account from messages, it doesn't work. either it shows me to the windows website via internet explorer or it doesn't do anything at all. I just want to take advantage of windows live push email feature for non-exchange server emails. Is there a windows live cab out there or some other wayy to have push email thru windows live? thanks a mil!

READ IT, If you dont, you will spend even more time infront of your computer flashing the official ruu before trying again, why waste time, use 1 min to read and understand.

IF you brick your phone (Brick=the phone can be used as a building brick, or maybe a paperweight? Because you cant start it up.) Its no others fault but your own.
Mainly the reason for bricking a phone is:
1. Not reading the instructions good enough
2. Not following the instructions.
3. Not having a RUU that can unbrick the phone (the official installer with the official rom for your specific phone, with your phones default language. In.ex if yu have a german phone by default, you need a german RUU, if not you will get invalid vendor error)
4. Not reading the instructions good enough..again
5. Not following the instructions...again

If you dont understand after reading CAREFULLY, then dont bother flash your device with this or any other rom.
