The weather options must be set with using the touchsettings located in start menu\programs\touchflo. It will not work if you use the htc home weather setting.


Instructions how to upgrade is in the Touch-IT folder.
READ IT, If you dont, you will spend even more time infront of your computer flashing the official ruu before trying again, why waste time, use 1 min to read and understand.

IF you brick your phone (Brick=the phone can be used as a building brick, or maybe a paperweight? Because you cant start it up.) Its no others fault but your own.
Mainly the reason for bricking a phone is:
1. Not reading the instructions good enough
2. Not following the instructions.
3. Not having a RUU that can unbrick the phone (the official installer with the official rom for your specific phone, with your phones default language. In.ex if yu have a german phone by default, you need a german RUU, if not you will get invalid vendor error)
4. Not reading the instructions good enough..again
5. Not following the instructions...again

If you dont understand after reading CAREFULLY, then dont bother flash your device with this or any other rom.

But yeah, I would say its foolproof, unless the flasher dont know what he is doing, or should I say, not doing.

Once I helped a guy, who claimed time after time that he followed instructions, and had done so many times, and my crappy rom didnt work.
you know what "mr did it all" made for mistake? he didnt soft reset because he didnt know how to, so he skipped that part, but at first he said he did soft reset, but when I asked how he did it, he could not say.....

Not saying this is it in your case at all, just making a point out of are you sure you did all? are you sure the rom would be compatible for your device, do u have the necesary setup on your computer, do you have xp, vista w/e?

Im just a bit tired of getting the blame that its not cooked right or this and that, its not my fault that it dont work on your device. I dont know what you have done previous tho flashing the rom. You can say you didi follow all steps, but how can I know for sure?

But go to development and hacking section of xda, and you will find a link to the creator(s) website, and you can download it and install.
I dont understand why he want that, but Im gonna respect his wish on that.

I think I've got an idea. You might have wanted to read the instructions. It states very clearly that you must flash it from the official RUU of your phone...

Now, you must flash that RUU. If your phone doesn't have one (XDA terra for example), you're stuck until the hard spl comes out.

The rom flashed successfully on first try. htc home i don't use. HTC Album feature works really nicely. I was able to use all the gestures and its really smooth. Only complaint here is that it rotates to the left and if you open the keyboard it doesn't change to the opposite side. Also it doesn't exit when clicking on the "x" it stays in memory and has to be closed forcefully.

The comm manager from kaiser works fine except that the wireless lan from settings menu doesn't work which is because it has been taken out. One thing i would like to add is that when i re-cooked ITJE's v2.0 rom with internet sharing i was unable to access wireless lan from the menu option. otherwise it was accessible without any issues.
office 2007 works fine.
HTC action screen works fine also. All the buttons open the right items. One bug that i noticed is that after exiting htc album the comm manager would pop for no reason. I also use tweak2k2 and after i exited it comm manager was running behind it. I don't know what's the association there but some seems to be triggering it. But it doesn't happen every time.

The pagepool is 4mb if anyone is wondering.

yea i noticed that aswell but what u can do is if u go touchsettings/mediahub and change wut photos open with to;

\Windows\HTCAlbum.exe

then when u open it up using photos from the cube launcher it will open in portrait instead of landscape in addition to that navigate to the windows folder and copy HTCAlbum.exe to windows/start menu/multimedia and that will give u 2 options to open up the album in the multimedia folder one to open in portrait (HTCAlbum) and one for landscape (Camara Album).

To make the program exit when u click the "x" go to

HKLM\\Software\HTC\HTCAlbum and change ok_minimize from 1 to 0

Im a 100% sure I followed every single required step.
The wierd thing is, my first herald was bricked on the first try with Touch-IT v2.0, and my second herald was flashed succesfully to the OEM rom with TouchFLO and afterwards to PDAVIET rom...
Both my heralds are now bricked because of an error during Touch-IT installation.
Im not saying it's your fault. The problem is just there, I cant find it, maybe you can?

Just installed.

Installation was a breeze. AWESOME artwork. Everything seems to be working fine at the moment... only thing I've noticed is that the comm manager likes to pop up for no reason when you close certain screens ... it appears to be random at the moment, so I need more time to figure it out.

I'll report back as soon as I get a chance to play with it some more.

So far so good, installed perfectly w/no issues. I'm having the same problem as Duprade, with the Comm Manager popping up frequently, but other than that it's working great.

As far as i know the changes need to be made in the rom itself. And i don't know how big the difference is either as i don't have a herald. And yes he will probably make a herald rom i am sure as ITJE actually owns a herald for himself.

im gonna post screens when i get home from work and my kids are put to bed.

the commmanager issue I can imagine comes from all the f...d up regedits that tmobile has put in everywhere. what takes most time with wing roms is finding all the regedits they have put in. they have renamed many files and folders, and locating all that is not easy.

the album was a new one i put in last minute. i had another one in the os i tested and orientation and all was good on that one, but it didnt have the help files. so i found a new one and decided that i build it in instead of the one I had...obviously not a good idea. ill fix it nonetheless in final.

but I think im closing in on getting you wing guys a ok rom.

And yeah, there will come a p4350 rom as well, so just wait out this week, 3 might get it ready before this week is over, but thats not a promise.

I tried this rom on my p4350, and I didnt have the commmanager problem you experience, I will look through the register and see if there is anything there that can cause it. If I cant find it, Im putting the kaiser com back in like in previous roms.

Ill make another beta of this, with new mms.
And Ill put in another htc album, that workes better. Its missing help files, but Ill try fix that.

The boot problem....I really dont know, but I can guess that the wings main os from the official is "wired" diffrently, but I dont know where the settings for power on and off is located, but I will try to look into it.

I just noticed the icon to turn off the Slide noise isn't in the settings... so I can't turn off that annoying "teem tum, toom teem" noise every time you open the keyboard.
Does anyone know what the registry edit for that would be?

Are you talking about the button config screen under settings? If so, when installed, I can't remember which one is was, but there were 2 buttons set to the same thing, voice command if I'm correct... and that's why it won't let you exit.

I would wait for the p4350 rom, its scheduled to be released this week.

There is still some issues in wing roms thats not present in p4350 roms

and there is the keyboard layout that is diffrent, but I guess thats not a big issue for you to fix though:)

I changed the temp to fahrenheit and put my location, but it still won't update through GPRS. Like i said, I'm using the proxy so thats the problem most likely.

I'm doing exactly what your saying, but the weather still doesn't update. The problem is that im using the tmobile proxy hack. My internet connection needs to go through 216.155.165.50:8080 before it works.

7) Second attempt with TOUCH-IT, same errors in DOS window and on the wing, cleared the wing error again before the script finished, then hard reset

9) Flash with HTC RUU again, installed Asergpolicies.cab, and soft reset
10) Ran upgrade_rom batch again
11) Dos window showed "cannot copy" errors, but I didn't clear the "unknown error" notification on the wing (at any point), hard reset
12) Successfully loaded TOUCH-IT

I am sure this was my own fault somehow, but I got it to work. Moral of the story, if at first you don't succeed, try try try again....or use warranty to return it to tmobile. :)

just alittle note on this after u install the cab for pocketpc when u click the soft key for contacts chances are that it'll still load the reg contacts n if thats the case jus do this;

the 2.3 rom is great. i havent noticed many of the issues that i did before. i do get a pop up saying that pimg is not a valid ppc app... hopefully that is just a prob with my device. other than that beautiful build. oh and one more thing. with active sync. it is a little intermittitant. hopefully that can be fixed over time.

Besides complaining I guess I'll ask the question: Does anyone know how to get my contacts to sync back up? For some reason even when I get the sync to work it will only let me sync files and media. Any work around of some kind?

Go into activesync, without plugging ur phone up and under file -> delete mobile device ... delete every single instance you have in there.

then plug your phone back in and when activesync detects it, set it up and make sure that contacts is activated for syncing.

no, contacts are stored in Outlook ... which is separate from activesync. I've done it various times with no problems. Make a backup using PIMbackup to ease your mind about it, but i won't be a problem.

with vista its the same as XP... your contacts are still stored via outlook. i run vista enterprise with office 07 enterprise. any questions about vista and activesync (aka WMDC) feel free too ask.

I find that only the "Top to Bottom" TFSetting works [on my Wing] to bring up the Cube. I see screenshots from other ROMS that have the right softkey labeled "TouchFlo" while mine is labled "Contacts".

Is the setting "TF Default v4.1" working for other people? Do you need to do anything other than drag your finger from the center-bottom to top?

the x-button is called taskmanager in settings. it show up on my phone.

hm, its weird. Just checked, and slidingsound is where it should be, but Ill try make a shortcut and put it in settings.

and...as always, its working on my herald.
But another way to fix it, is to use totalcommander, find slidingsound.exe in windows dir, highlight it, and use filemenu, and there is a option that look like this: >>>>> (a) click it an you will find a option thats called create shortcut, move it to windows/start menu/settings.

then you should have a shortcut to slidingsound. you can also move the shortcut to any other location of your choosing.

Thanks my friend. Excellent work on this build. I was very excited to see that you had integrated the Touch Dual picture viewer. I havent found any problems with this rom besides the missing sliding sounds icon, but I will let you know if I do.

This is frankly the best Rom available at the moment for the Wing... without a doubt. The bugs are minimal and it runs incredibly. I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say that.

I'm going to try to find a chance to sit down with it and make a list of all the minor bugs/quirks that need to be fixed... which quite frankly aren't that important, bc I've been using my phone with this rom since its release with no problems at all.

Mine will not connect at all. It will attempt, but never connnect, and then I can't execute anything on my phone. will give an error for anything I try to do e.i. contacts, calender, camera, etc....

Wierd bug:

If you go to the button settings, it will assign 2 buttons the same operation. Obviously you cannot exit until each button has a seperate function to open. Well once you try to change one of these duplicate values it always makes the change null and wont change at all. Leaving you no way to exit the button configuration.

Yeah hopefully that will be the end of all problems and it will definitely make switching roms easier assuming you don't have to go back to the default rom each as you can just use the RUU. And yes you know MS has severe issues.

I had the same problem when I flashed my wing. I had to delete my phones profile out of active sync then every thing was fine!

Wow, not sure what I am doing wrong but I installed the pocketcm and changed the HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113\Open value to "\Windows\Start Menu\PocketCM.lnk and I keep getting "The file PocketCM cannot be opened. Either it is not signed or cannot be found..."

I checked in the Windows\Start Menu and the PocketCM.ink is there. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times and it all ends up the same.

Any ideas??

Wrong..it doesnt have to be unlocked, my wing is already on a cooked rom so its not the original rom that is on the wing when you first get it. So if I try and put this on my wing in its current state its going to be a big no no. As far as unlocking, no it doesnt have to be unlocked just have the original RUU it came with from what I know.

weird, it keeps hanging on me..... i get a unknown status error on the wing and the command prompt window just sits there last time i let it run it sat there for at least 15 minutes without changing... if you figure the command in steps it gets to about the second one when i get the error on the wing.

I believe it does include battery status, you just have to "show" it in the settings->today->items list. then you can overclock it to get some speed.

Well for some reason, I cant call the PocketCM.ink file by changing it to the default. It keeps giving me error messages. I can, however, call the PocketCM.exe file by changing the registry entry to Windows\PocketCM.exe.

I probably missed something, but before try to install this on my 8525 phone. will this work on that model? This looks better the the WM6 that I have on the phone. It is a version someone posted.

Ther version I have works fine, but I like the touch screen that seems to be more intergrated into this.

One note also:

I get Comm manager popping up after every other program I close. Its extremely wierd.

No problems other then that.

But I do make a suggestion:

Possibly include a link to batterystatus in the programs menu, that way it doesnt have to be accessed by the today options.

Also dont forget possibly a backlight fix, its missing from the settings menu. Though it is in the HTC today, people might look first in where it should be.

just installed, first try, perfect.
i think of the active sync probs u have to make sure u delete the profiles on ur active synce so when u connect it says guest, like the above posts have mentioned.

If you go to the button settings, it will assign 2 buttons the same operation. Obviously you cannot exit until each button has a seperate function to open. Well once you try to change one of these duplicate values it always makes the change null and wont change at all. Leaving you no way to exit the button configuration.

EDIT**** dunno if it helps but if u go to file explorer/windows/appbuttons and delete one of the app buttons u will be able to go into settings and exit with out it saying there are 2 app under 1 button. and the deleted app still works. (i deleted voice commander and it still works, didnt delete the program)

and as for the PocketCM i also had to use total commander and just enter the link the actual exe file location.

still trying to figure out how to remap the right soft key to the ativate the touchflo, but when i assign the button to "device/windows/temp/touchflo it says the app is either not signed or in valid.. any ideas?

ya you can fix that by making sure activesync is open and in guest mode. i used to have that same prob.

I did, I had error Connection 600 or something like that from the RUU install that I have used many times before......

So I decided to try installing without reverting back to original RUU.

Just follow instructions: step by step.

Not guarantied but worked for me on my WING.

I've bricked my phone twice and I got into the boot loader by doing what you said:

hold down 2 soft keys WHILE pressing reset. I didn't let go of the soft keys until saw the rainbow (well, sort of).

Well I decided that my wing did not like 2.3 so I went back to the stock T-Mob rom in preperation to go back to 2.1, however, I decided to try to re-flash 2.3 one more time. The weird thing is that my wing now likes 2.3. I was able to map the pocketCM.ink to my contacts registry and now everything works.
Not sure why, but everything is working great now!

And for rest of you wing users, look how many this work for, and you all have same device....it should in theory work for everyone if you follow the instructions, but why it dont is a mystery for everyone.

I know the whole hold down the image. Set as background. Then you get to adjust the transparency. This feature is not working for me on this ROM. I'm guessing like you said i just got unlucky and it wants to be glitchy. Is there a reg edit i can use to change my custom background image to 100%?

Start, Programs, Touch Flow, TF Setting, Enable Cube, View mode "Top to Bottom", Soft Reset, Once fully booted, drag your stylus from the top of your screen to the bottom of your screen. To Put away drag your stylus from the bottom of your screen to the top.

I'm new to cooking; not flashing. My old MDA has seen hundreds of different roms. If there is one thing I have learned with flashing my MDA is "read and re-read until you can recite from memory!" My wing has now seen quite a few roms as well.

I understand the frustration of having to answer the same thing over and over but I didnt actually ASK anything in my post. I was simply sharing my experience with everyone else. At no point did I fault your rom, I just said my wing didnt like it the first flash. The reason I said that was weird is my wing has loved all your roms so this time, I was surprised. In the end, I re-flashed and all is working as I knew it should.

As I have said many times, thank you for your hard work and contributions to wing owners! I dont think I would have kept my wing if not for you itje. My device is actually pleasant to use now.

As everyone else, I am eagerly awaiting the next epsiode of "cooking for newbs"!

If there is a way to associate files with a certain application (i.e when you click on a picture, the picture opens with HTCalbum instead of pictures and video), I havent found a way to do it yet but you can associate HTC Album with the Pictures button in the cube. This requires a simple registry entry though.

\\\registry\HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMin i\App1_2\path

change the contents to \Windows\HTCalbum.exe

Im sure there are other ways but thats working for me.

For those of you who were wondering, when you follow the initial steps and hard reset and connect to your PC activesync will start and it'll detect a new device, you just 'cancel' that process and it'll connect you as guest.

I have (I think) a small request... not a complaint either, but, is there anyway to include a theme that is black/grey without the image / woman background... just a plain black would be great. I'm sure I can tweak the existing setup myself by following Today Screen customization guides, etc, but thought I'd toss out the request.

In the default rom there used to be a 'screen' or 'display' icon in settings (forget what it was called) where you could quickly change the brightness levels for battery or ac power. I did a little searching and found that slider under the battery settings. Unfortunately so far I can only get to that screen by tapping the battery icon in the task bar at the top. Once there, you have to click on Menu (at the bottom) and then Backlight. If there's an easy way to add an icon for this in to settings again, please share (doesn't need to be in rom...) I change this slider fairly frequently... if I know I'm going to be in the sun I turn it all the way up, and if not I set it back down to conserve power

Click on the 4th option from the left on HTC home. (right under the clock. Looks like a windows logo)The third icon is for backlight, you just tap it to change the level.

no date, and there is really not mutch I will do of changes, more like small "cosmetics" actually.
There is no danger flashing this just because its a beta rom.

The "bugs" many claim to experience (not saying that you dont have them) is not present on other ppls devices. You might notice that if you read through the posts both in this thread and in my other release threads, is that ppl cliam this is no good, it bricked my device, its crap, doesnt work and so on etc etc etc...

do you have a good activesync connection?
do you have correct drivers on your pc?
have you installed asergs policies cab? did you soft reset???
are you connected as guest or as your profile?
what os do you use?

You can actually flash in.ex the same rom upon the same rom
So if you have touch it 2.3 and having bugs, you can reflash touch-it 2.3 without flashing the official first. It might fix some of the "bugs"

the batterystatus is included in all my roms, go to options in batterystatus, then go to "omap" there you can overclock...

if you can go past 195, then you are underclocked :D

No, because 1.1 is based on the whole wing rom, not a ported kasier. So from v2 and up, is another build, but there has been ppl reporting flashing over custom roms, with sucess, so they say.

But what I was talking about, is flashing same build with same apps.
so it would have to be 2.3 to 2.3, in case you get "bugs" that others dont get in same rom. It might fix it, but maybe not. But I know this is a way used in artemis section, reflashing over same rom to fix socalled bugs.

I noticed from your signature that you recooked the cooked rom. Any chance you'd be willing to share. It has exactly what I'd want in my rom if I knew how to cook one myself.

Iam losing storage memory fast... but ive been saving my programs to storage card? does is it save to both the device and storage card when u install a program?

some programs install things onto the main memory even if you choose to install them onto the storage card.... look at program files and you might see folders for things you installed on ur storage card.

How did u install all those programs and still have alot of memory? Cause I only have 1.58mb of free main memory left.. How do i check which programs are using my main memory

I went thru and deleted a bunch of unnecessary files from the device ... like unnecessary pictures and templates and all sorts of crap thats in there that I never use... you'd be amazed at how much space y
