Regarding the flash lite, is it possible to rtemove it and use the original package from adobe, this cutomized HTC version is not working with one of my favorite programs, the button used to navigate between pictures in that program transfers 2 pictures with one click.

Some Bugs That i have noticed:

The Battery icon in main bar is unable to be selected after a SR.

As usual with Schaps roms, the battery icon becomes 10% off the actual level after a few SR. (Does neone know why this happens?)

my fingers feel sick,
i had tabbed many times to copy all rgu´s, but ok
after this copy, i removed some applications like taskmanager HTC home etc
and add some tools from the kitchen 1-calc full, batterie, frequencytuner, Pocket mediaplayer, Pocket screen capture, taskamanger, zoom_SMS
it´s possible to install HTC-Plus, i like this application
all things are looking good

Strangly after some time the sound level increased by itself just wanted to report that, every thing else is perfect thanks again Schap's great work as always.

So far....too many SR. Maybe because of Hebrew support although I use English menus. Contact Breeze seems to go nuts - can't install skins and can't register. Emoze seems to lock the system when trying to connect to Internet using GPRS. ??? Very unstable for me - I may just go back to 3.6.
11:43 - I'm not givving up. Contact Breeze - still a problem.
After many soft resets I'm finally able to work stable. I will try this ROM today and see. Will let you know.

For the most impatients I made a provisioning XML file to change the Comm Manager appearance, copy it in My Documents or in storage card and load it with Advanced Config. If changes don't apply immediatly it means that Comm Manager is still open, then reset your device.

The Photo in the Outlook mail is out the screen in portrait mode, all the header is bigger than the screen, if you rotate the screen to landscape and then rotate again, this solve the issue for this mail only.

Regarding the battery icon, this works fine in Funkey's ROM as that was the one is was using previously whila awaiting your return to XDA. :)

Maybe you could PM him and see if he can help?

Edit: Also it appears that HTC albulm is not working correctly. I am unable to slide between the images and am unable to rotate the image.

Anyone experiencing extreme battery drain? I loaded the rom when it was released last night and left the phone on overnight. It was at 90% charge and now its at 30%, not even 12 hours passed.

It stayes for a min. low then after that increases, not a big issue it could be a setting in setacous. which gives this delay. :confused:

For the most impatients I made a provisioning XML file to change the Comm Manager appearance, copy it in My Documents or in storage card and load it with Advanced Config. If changes don't apply immediatly it means that Comm Manager is still open, then reset your device.

I got the same problem, I just open the xml file to read what changes are made in registry and check them. In my case, number of functions for comm manager was still at 9 so I change to 6 and now all is ok.

I remember that one of the latest beta versions of Skype was working fine and even the voice on my TyTn. Unfortunately I can't remember the exact build. With the latest version Skype quits when trying voice dial. My ROM is Schap's 3.57a (until 4.0 is final :) ).

Skype does work for PPC but with this ROM some how none of the Skype version does not seems to work for me. I was able to call out using Skye PPC 2.1 with other ROM call was fine only thing is that it uses speaker phone. I am not sure with v2.2

I noticed this if you read my previous threads, sometimes also if you reset still the volume is low, very strange what device are you using...
I noticed also after reseting, leave it without using it for 1-2 min. you will find the sound became high again !!!!

google nav is working however it took 10 minutes to load the first time... then it does now open faster and the maps load much faster.

Tried the google Nav. it works fine with my BT GPS, but the software is very slow in responding quite true I didnot like the software but Schap's managed to install the Direct 3D which is good in future.

Enable3GLongName is enabled in the registry but for some reason this doesnt display anything?
To fix the issue from the last beta the registry just needed to be changed to set the Long3GPrefix to UMTS instead of 3G.

Other than that, ROM is very fast, Very Stable and im a very happy chappy!

just one little note: the new contact list is surely better than the older one, but the touch contact manager was nicer to see and to use with fingers, maybe i will install it again

HKLM/Software/HTC/StartupAnimation /Volumn

One time to 64 and I got the startup animation sound half volume and when the phone booted it was the same half volume as the startup animation

Then I made the value 16 and the volume of the startup animation and the phone after boot was twice louder than the value of 32

The phone starts with the volume that set for the startup animation and it changes volume after some time

put this key to value 0 (zero) and you have the phone boots at high normal audio level

I use VoipCheap for certain calls, to other countries. After flashing with both the light and the full, I have configured the voip connection as I have done with Beta1 and Beta3. In the Beta versions they worked fine, but when I tried to do it with RC, there is a small issue that I ran into.

The radio stopped working. What I mean is that the radio icon would go into search mode and would not find the connection to my ATT tower. I have only had the phone for about a week and a half, so I am reluctant to rule it as a hardware issue.

I did upgrade to the 1.54.0.7.0(?) version of the radio.

Anyone else have this issue?

BBC 4.0.0.91 works. Change HKLM\System\Versions\Aku from 0.7.0 to 0.4.2 before you install BBC, and it should work fine. Note: I don't know if this will break anything else, but it seems to be OK so far.

Anyway, since I upgraded my Tytn with your 4.00 rom (i was using 3.5something before), my Tytn doesn't wake up when i try to use the handfree feature of my tomtom go 720 but starts to dial when i manually wake it up but this doesn't work. it works fine when the hermes is awaken.

This was working fine with your 3.xx previous roms.

Some older versions of Skype work perfectly fine. Search in this forum to find out which, sorry I don't remember. However, you might try www.fring.com - it's a piece of software that let's you call and chat using your Skype account as well as some other IM tools.

Duper00's reply was absolutely right (and probably more polite than many you could probably get). What he didn't say was that if you don't read up a bit first you stand the chance of turning your phone into a paperweight.

In a nutshell - yes you can upgrade your 8525, but do some research first.

Start with the reference Duper00 gave you. The Wiki page points you to everything you need - but there's lots to dig through. Pay particular attention to the parts about super CID and CID/SIM unlocking - and also HardSPL (a lifesaver).

Try this. It works for me, but you do need to soft reset after you install this for the keys to work.

Your device is CID locked see the section wiki for the solution there.

I visited that page before posting for help. That involves an RUU file as well. When I try to install it I received the same error message.

I have flashed it many time before with Sleuth's, all of vp3G's roms and two of snaps. Additionally, I get the same message even if I try to flash the upgraded RUU wrapper. Could it be software related? Because even if I disconnnect the usb cable I get the same error when I should receive the connection error. Just my thoughts.

24 hours running now without any major incidents. A couple little things I found though....

* I cannot shut off the wifi by simply tapping the connection at the top and selecting "Disconnect". I am forced to use the Comm Manager.
* I'm still having the formatting issue in my email...contact images pushed off the right hand side of the screen until I open & close the sliding keyboard.

Anyone else have these things happening? Were you able to fix them? How?

If you double click the schaps icon, and click 'yes im sure i want to flash this rom', when you get the first screen asking you to select ipl/spl navigate to either YOUR temp folder in c:\documents and settings\*username*\local settings\temp

in there it should be a folder with the files in it

or, you should be able to 'unrar' the file using winrar

should work.

You're almost there. Just leave that screen open. Now browse to your temp folder and you should find the file you're looking for.

Alternatively you could just change the file extension of Schap's ROM installer from EXE to RAR. Then open it with WinRar or similar application that opens RAR files. Then just extract the NBH file.

Thanks a lot for your help. I must really be an idiot because i didn't find the temp folder with the nbh file or was able to extract the exe (i've extracted other hermes related exe files) but when i changed the extension to rar it worked. :D

It is in the registry of the device.. You need Registry Editor app to be able to edit registry..

I use the one bundled with Resco Explorer, but there are freewares out there, just search for it..

Installed yesterday and used it all day at work today and it was faultless.

On installation I had the low volume problem but that rectified itself. Strangest thing I have ever seen. Loaded it up with many (and i mean many) programs all works great.

Bluetoothed to my TomTom 500GO and works great.
Synced to vista no problems.
Access wifi

Just cant fault it on my JasJam.

I experienced hangings for planty of times. It often happens when closing some windows,settings and applications accidentially. I don't know the exact operation will cause this.

I tried to install only a few essential applications to see if there is any conflicts. However, doesn't seem to be better.

After some forced resets (warm), it happens more frequently, sometimes it even hangs just by entering the today screen after booting.

I think I will switch back to 3.6a soon and waiting for solutions.

Anyone experiences the same thing?

System worked fine (and quick) for me for a while.
Than I decided it's time to install the Hebrew support.
Since that the system become VERY unstable and many SR occurred.
Unhappy I returned to the stable 3.60 version.

Same here - went back to 3.6a which is far far far more stable for me. My programs are: PDAC Hebrew support, Contact Breeze, Emoze, ResInfo tools and Batti.
That's it.
On the 3.6 ROM it all sings and dances. On the 4 ROM - impossible.
Come to think of it and reading JPW's thread, this might not be only the Hebrew Support which, by the way, works perfect on the 3.6a version. I too had to SR many times on the boot screen.

I've had it running for 24 hours now. Its very stable, installed Skype, Google Navigator and its fine, think I've had 1 SR in that time and that was due to a problem with the Google Navigator install.
I'm not trying any other languages or funky apps though.

Hard reset the device you will be back to normal, backup your other stuff then restore after HR.

Yeh right! Hard reset, I bought this Hermes 300 bricked and I´m (was) a complete noob! I´ve read almost everything in this forum about how to repair a bricked so you can imagine how many hard resets I´ve done in the last 2 days...

Full rom has 2.20h (Build 807.715) and I do not see the graphical bugs you have, I have the standard skin that comes with the rom, you have installed something else.

Why report bug if you don't use the Schaps rom?

I have made a cab file for Streaming Media that is in full ROM for people ( including me ) that use lite ROM..

I now realized that I forgat to edit the registry with the new version number, I don`t know if it has any influence on the way that app report itself since the version number in the registry was not the one that PAPPL said..

About the graphical glitches, I think it is because Schaps edited the app to use his buttons ( that I don`t like at all ), so when I used standard ones they produce glitches..

The best way would be if schaps could create the 2 cabs for us out of the OEM, one with his buttons and one with stock buttons and everyone will be happy... :D

I recently flashed Schap's 4 on my Hermes. Everything went fine, except now I can't get my device to sync with my laptop. The laptop runs Vista Biz, with WMDC as the sync conduit. The laptop sees the Hermes, and I can browse the directory on the device. But no matter what I try, I can't get the device to sync with the laptop. It's not a huge issue, but I do have an Outlook database of 100 or so contacts that I really don't want to have to type into the handheld. I've already tried uninstalling the device in Vista and reinstalling it. Delected all partnerships in WMDC and started over there. All to no avail. Any thoughts? Is there a registry tweak I need to make? Or am I missing something really simple?

The Keys aren't Kaiser-Style, but really working well!
THIS IS A FULL WORKING STREAMING MEDIA CAB!
For the different version-number we have to wait for schaps answer.


Additional info:
Do you know how the codecs for HTC Streaming Media are saved? I do have a H264 (AVC-Codec cab for Coreplayer and TCPMP but i don't know how to make it work with HTC Streaming Media.
I also opened the not working RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.cab from Addons.zips and your Streaming Media cab with cab manager and in your cab are no dll-files (like EMZ_H264BP.dll which sounds like a codec for H264 mp4, or EmMp4SbrDec.dll which seems to be a mp4-decoder.)

Strange isn't it? Seems like HTC Streaming Media should handle H264 AVC Codec, but it doesn't. (It opens H263 and MPEG4, but no H264).
In some full ROMs the video codec is shown in properties (H264) but no picture. In this Streaming Media Version the H264 codec isn't recognized in properties and no icture too. Every other codec working well.

I am not sure now if that one codec is included in lite ( I think they ware all there when I looked ), I have deleted the dump of the lite ROM after I did some "cosmetic" editing and optimization.. I am not sure how much free storage is in the Schaps original, but mine edit got 64Mb free now, the comm manager from the screenshot ( I`ve used provmxl that Schaps provided and included it in the cold boot optimization settings, thanks schaps! :D ).. and some other things... :p

There are only 2 issues to fix in the light ROM: Low volume bug related with startup animation and a cosmetic one: dialer showing always "TMobileHR" insted "T-Mobile HR" in GSM area and "3G UMTS T-Mobile HR" in WCDMA area.
I didn`t install any apps yet...

Waiting for the final version with new version of advanced config..
This will be the best ROM for hermes!! Thank you Schaps for effort and time you put into it!

I was just wondering if anyone had any issues with screen alignment since upgrading to this rom.

The reason I ask is that I installed the previous version and it needed to be recalibrated every 5 mins, which never happened on Black Satin.

Yes I have read the section on screen calibration. And I have removed and replaced the gasket around the screen and was working perfectly for many weeks on Black Satin without issue.

The Start Menu ( Recently Opened Progs List) gets long and cluttered right away. Is there a way to clean-up the Start Menu by not having it save the recently Opened files?

Installed Schaps Full ROM now, and the Streaming Media 2.20 inside opens the H264 codec stream but no picture. AAC-sound working and streaming well. The difference to the cab-install is, that in properties the video-codec is recognized by HTC Streaming Media as H264&AAC.
Strange, the codec is recognized but can't decode and display the picture. Only black screen. I 99% believe it should work, but some small bug doesn't let the video-codec activate.
Cab-install shows only "AAC" and no Videocodec-name if H264-stream. No picture with H264-stream with all versions.
MPEG4-stream working well with full too.

Hi schaps, i have a question about anounced future Advanced Config.
I use your tool very often and the tool is great, but if you could optimize a small cosmetic thing please.
If i try to input a Useragent-String over your User Interface the Keyboard always hides the Input-Window, see screenshots. If I change to landscape mode there is no chance to access the windows, so it's never possible to input text and see the text-window (and text written) at the same time. :o
Sometimes very :mad: if i type a long string and then i find a false written text.
Could be solved by adding scoll bars when keyboard opened or landscape, or the window on top of the screen (visible part).

After three days of usage I now found a (minor) bug, that I also had in some previous versions.

Activating Bluetooth via CommManager fails sometimes

To save battery-power I only activate BT, when using the Hermes in the car. So I have to activate/deactivate ist about 10times a day. In about 9 of 10 cases it works without problems.

But sometimes I select the BT-Button in the CommManger, the coulored circle appears for about 10 seconds, but after this BT is still not activated.
In this case You can try it 3 or 4 times an it still don't work. After closing and restarting the CommManager it works at the first try.

This problem appears only by activation BT not when deactivating BT.

This problem appears on two different Hermes
