Hey everyone I just wanted to let everyone here know that setting up a dual boot on your computer will allow you to have Vista as your default OS but then reboot your computer and select from either Vista or XP and load either or. Load XP when working on your Wizard, load Vista when you're not!

Here is a link to a tutorial:

Link is also in my signature.

PS>> I have tried this personally and have found it to be 100% reliable and works every time!!

Have fun guys!

I used to do this as well, but really got sick of Vista and all the compatibility issues, it was getting to be a pain having to reboot everytime I wanted to sync/flash my phone and use winavi (among other things), I got rid of the Vista Ultimate I was running and now just run Black XP...

That was an option for me as well but I have an HP Dragon with a 240gig hard drive and Vista Ultimate preloaded. I use Vista for all of my photoshopping and what not but XP is only a 40Gig partition and aside from virus protection, is a clean OS strictly for working on my Wizard. I use Vista for everything else.

Yes vista has compatibility issues with the bootloader on our Wizards but for all other softwares, the drivers are there. The programs may not install properly or at all but if you go to their website, or do a simple google search, you will find the drivers you are looking for 99% of the time.

I was telling people to do this a long time ago, glad someone caught on hah cheers, remember to get your XP key legally of course :P

oh yeah, I believe you can do this in virtual pc/wmware as well, XP fresh install is only about 1.7gb

Yes !
This exactly is what I have also been advising the guys to do.

Well thats exactly what I have done a longtime back, when Vista was first time launched.I'm running both the OS's since than. But as I have three 160g's Sata drives installed in my system, I can easily manage to have both Os on separate drives.never felt the need to partition one drive for separate OS's,LOL

I know, but the only problem for me was that one of the programs I use a lot (winAVI) was part of that 1%...

Nicely said. I already had XP on an old HP Pavilion fortunately so I had the restore disk but my Dragon came with Vista Ultimate... I never had to pay for either OS but both are perfectly legal Activated versions. THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE. Either you get lucky and have both disks already or you purchase it. No WAREZ...
