Thanks bram for this rom, it's the first time I flashed my touch and was a bit worried during the process. I encountered a problem after flashing, when aligning my screen. The touch froze several times and a soft reset was necessary, 3 times.
Like some others, I have problems with the home plugin, I can't change the order or remove tabs. Are you working on a solution?

indeed a can't agree more... pagepool wouldn't change, it even went to 36MB but didn't see anything change... then it crashed... i've used diferent methods to change the pagepool but whitout any improvements. im back to the dutch touch 1.1... for the extra memory...

Hi all, it seems that this rom reacts different on many devices.
At mine the free program memory is 21.03 after hard reset, and the storage memory at 51.24...
some people have many problems with this rom, some don't...
It's frigging strange.

I'm testing a new build of my rom now, with the original 3 tab home plug(to see if the 6 tab couses the 3rd boot problem).

Also experimented with pagepools and such, it seems this base(2.20.707.1B) is built in another way than the previous ones, becouse i cant find the pagepool settings in the hexeditor. But still searching for it to make it really bigstorage!

I've just got 8 to 12 MB free memory left after I flashed my device. Don't really have a clue how to fix it. Let just wait for the new update. May be the problem will be fix then.

One thing I did notice, not sure what 6 tab homescreen is in there but on the cube quick dials the "official" HTC roms use to bring up the contact from the quick dial and then you could select the mobile number, home or text msg. Now I have to select the number and when I hit quick dial it goes straight to dial the mobile number.

Otherwise the rom seems fairly stable.

You don't have to flash uspl if youve already done that, it's just that jou must check if you've done that.
There's nog spl in my rom...its optional for download in the first thread

It differs from any device... I use a t-mobile MDA touch, and i have approx 1 mb more free memory than yours... hmmmm

I've just hard resetted my device due to the low memory on my device.

Now I've got almost 19 MB free memory on my device. almost 8 MB more than before.

The process I've done

1. Hard reset
2. Go to Memory (11 MB indicated)
3. Go to Running Programs
4. Stop all the programs (I've got Messenging on the programs list)

Voila

I've got 19 MB free memory left.

Still I can't reach 21 MB like Bram does
But it's OK for now I can live with it

Found out that when launching the htc album through the cube ( photos and videos )
the application launches horizontal instead of vertical. Not so nice because when the htc album is vertical you can scroll through pictures with your fingers from left to right. But when you want to go backwards. You have to move from right to left with your finger which start the cube again.

Found another point:
I want to remove the 6th tab. The one with the contacts, but I cannot remove it. Not with HTC home customizer and with Advance Configuration it also doesn't work.


But I'm still extremely happy with this trom. Like a little child:D


Another thing that caught my attention is the background image in the today screen. The quality is bad in comparison when you open up the image in the new htc album. Better colours and much sharper. What could be the problem of this?:confused:

This used to be done by removing registry setting Quickdial. This Romis from new build with a lot of new files that come after HHC and Adv Config.

As for the memory as far as most of us now there's something with changing pagepool on this rom maybe not sticking. But a good thing would be to mannually lower Cache settings with advanced to Miminum And maybe even lower by going intoregistry.

I am having some problems with the WWE 1.01 version :( After softreset the weather part of the HTC Home plugin is dead and wont come back. And some strange thing happens at random:

Sometimes a little Abc icon appears in the top bar next to the [G] Icon, whenever that happens, the left softkey on the todayscreen changes to "Notification" but when tapped nothing happens, this will stay that way until next softreset.

For all the other stuff :) Great work!

congrulations for your new rom, i was using pdaviets transformer rom before (i dont know why it is not so much populer) but yours is the best..
i just wondering will be usefull for everybody if you add this rom pim backup,registery editor,clear temp and wm5 storage...they are not wasting so much space.

First time I flashed my PDA because this one looked very promising. And it didn't disappoint me. NLD Version 1.01. Stable and fast! :)

For your information: I did have Office Mobile AND Adober Reader LE installed by default after flashing though it didn't come with this ROM?! How come? All other apps are running smooth or are tweaked by me. So for me there's no urgent reason to move to version 2.01 of your ROM except for the radio. Does this radio version improve connectivity etc.?

Hmmzzz.. It seems that the os.nb from the Blue Touch is the same as the "old" 1.xx.xxx.xx roms. The new os.nb from 2.20.707.1b is built different so i think the cooks of the Blue rom used the old os.nb.(i think, could be wrong but then they cooked differently(smarter:P) than i).

If i take apart the Official dopod 2.20.707.1b rom i cant find the strings for pagepool also... it's the same as my rom.

SO happy with your custom-build ROMs that I will not wait for the (for me preferred) Dutch ROM to be published and will flash it now.

Just upgraded to the latest WWE.

This time tried without USPL/CID unlocking tool. Always used that before each new ROM and now understood that's only needed the first time you want to flash another ROM.

results:
1. got error 264 (connection) also with re-tries - USB connection is recognized on my PC(Vista)so that should not happen
2. after removing my 6GB card it worked like a charm ! Think the +2GB SD cards are causing the problem or is it something else?

Maybe be nice to know for others to try out whenever they have the same connection problem....it solved my problem

So far so good:

- album from the cube opens now in portrait mode
- no freezes at bootscreen after a couple of resets
- sound does not automatically changes to vibrate mode after wakeup or randomly (as far as I can see now)

Funny: have to wait before I can fill in my PIN code for the SIM-Card again....

Overall this looks like a fine & stable ROM to me.

you're for the german touch user hthe only change at that time, to get a newer german rom - so please, don't worry about all the questins about a german version.

For this you could try OmapClock. Have tried it in the past on my Wizard, worked OK but you have to make a workaround to make it startup after waking the device. (see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=881046)

A much better solution/option which I also run on my Elf could be 'Battery status' prog. More possibilities to set defaults such as overclocking at wakeup and much more nice tools inside (i.e. CPU usage)and even language packs available.

If you search this elf-forum you'll find a lot of info abt the prog.

My problem is that the carkit -should- sync my contacts automatic (as it does with HTC Kaiser) but nothing happens :(

About 5 work colleagues also own the Touch (bought same time as mine) and most of them still have their original roms and also struggle with the same problem but I have noticed that it does not happen on my phone with some of the other roms such as the PDAviet rom.

Any idea what could be wrong? I really want to use this rom!!!!

If all the phones (even the factory ones) suffer from it, it may very well be a case of bad signal reception in the building you are working in. If it happens at home aswell, then it a different story all together. You could try upgrading the radio.

Then USPL it and then reflash with the Touch Duo rom ;), it worked for me.

The SPL update gets the same message, could it be the device driver when touch is connected in (red,green,blue) screen? updated it yesterday. Can someone give me the key combinations to get to that screen so I can try to reverse the driver...

Think you should only use the SPL update when you have to return your elf for warranty. After updating with the SPL you have to CID unlock again.

(please confirm I understood this correctly, still learning and trying to understand....)

would be nice if we could select a folder..
but i can life with this...

it sends me to the telephone storage..
and i cant puth all the movies there..
how do i get that to look on my storage card as well?

I removed AudioManager and tried to replace AudioManager with WMPlayer in Cube. I modified registry: \Media Type\Type\0->1
And now when i try to run Music from Cube, I recieve an error: vjbrisk2.exe missing or not signed.
If I replace audimanager path for wmplayer.exe in cube for music, I recieve same error.

1 Question though, Does the Data tab on the comm mngr now actually work? As on version 1.01, you can stop data connection as often as you want, but the phone will still connect through gprs if it is not connected to WiFi....

The xt9 dutch language files are already present in the 2.23 WWE rom but cannot be chosen from the menu(i don't know why). If this bug is fixed i'll implement it into the WWE and NLD rom.

I't has to be cooked, if you regedit it on the device it resets after every sr.

No it'll take a while when i release the next version of the rom.
I'm not gonnna release a new rom everytime i fixed a setting or reg-edited something.
In the next version there will be a lot of graphic enhancements, more storage , a lot of extra programs, and many fixes that i encounter by your reviews!

This is a problem between pocket cm and xt9 keypad, don't know how to solve this problem. I've set the default contct app to random access, if it's locked, i can't do anything about it.

Just found out what's going on with the the Favourtie people.
When you add contacts to the speed dial in the TOuch cube, the contacts will automatic link to the favourite people on the homeplug. But what you have to do is delete the contact at the favourite people and then add the new one. The cube will not be effected. First it looks like that they are link together but in fact you can just use them as a separated speeddial

But I only got one problem with this rom,everything work fine only the "Remove Program" don't really work well,it showing nothing on the list when I launch the "Remove Program".

Errr... I believe that they sho nothing that is in the ROM, your own installed apps should show there, at least mine do ;)

In the dutch rom I can't startup Excel Mobile! Word and powerpoint are running perfect but the one I need Excel doesn't work. Please check it for me and maybe you can make a fix. Thank you

Bram: Can you make the actionscreen in the dutch version 'dutch'? I've found some registry keys which represent the labels in the actionscreen. When I translate them (modify them in the registry), and do a soft reset the actionscreen is indeed dutch. But when I do a hard reset, the are obviously english again.

I was just confused. The OS version number shipped with the new ROM(2.20.707.1B) is even smaller than the old ROM(1.11.707.1B). How does Microsoft name their WM6? To my opinion, a bigger number often means a newer release.

it tells me that its low on memory and that i need to close apps to gain memory..

but even if i close all my apps.. i only get about 6 - 8 mb free :S
and when i do a soft reset its back to around 20 i beleve?

so for some reason a part of the used memory is not returned..
what could this be?

Standard Problem.

1) Can you upload it to a site like sendspace or can any other user PM me and send it to me ? I'm eagerly waiting to test this ROM (it will be my first flash...), but I tried several times and can't download it from rapidshare (inexisting file) or megaupload (at least 8hs of waiting time).

2) Is this ROM faster than the original ? I don't know you guys, but mine touch is really slow. My former pda (samsung blackjack) was way faster and stable than htc touch.

Then go to the performance tab...you'll be able to change and tweak it from there.

is anyone having battery status indicator problems??

i've had my phone unplugged for about 3 hours now.. didn't use it.. it was in my pocket.. took it out and it was still 100% in the battery screen in Settings..

is that just good battery life or a problem with the indicator??

another issue i notice is if the typing indicator is not in any typing field and i pull up the HTC keyboard or keypad.. it displays as a full QUERTY pad (each key has it's own button).. but when the typing indicator is actually in a typing field.. it goes to the correct 20key or 12key keyboard..

is there a fix for this or is this a known issue... thanks!!

I will say this only once.
I will not repeat myself.
If this is not the 5.2.1933 base but the 8MB PP version.
There is a serious memory leak worse then the ones before.
Not only that also There are driver corruprions.
This has nothing to do with what Bram did with the Rom.
It's the incorrect Memory adres for the pagepool.

Another age old trick from the days Touch apps were being ported to Wizard.
Disable Home Plug when using more then 3 tabs (if one of the tabs is profiles or contacts, disable it anyway), before installing apps you know will cause problems.

Bram's a very clean cook none of these issues come from what he's doing.

How is Excell not Working?
When you open an excell file directly?
Or the link?
What's the Error?
Can you open the exe directly from windows?

Maybe The Loon made a mistake with the OEM.

Dear Bram,

First of all thank you very much for your effort and support.

I have just flashed your new 2.23 ROM to my Touch. Everything seems to work fine up to now, except for one thing, the GPRS connection.
When I try to establish a GPRS connection a pop-up window splashes and tells me to fill in the login and psw to the APN. It seems logical unless I have made it beforehand when configuring default GPRS connection. I have verified the login and the PSW with the operator, it is correct, but my Touch does not want to connect to the point.

I would really appreciate if you and anyone could help me solve this issue, cause GPRS is a constant need for my work.

I rely upon you a lot.

Is there any fix to Delink the Fav.Contacts in the home plug from the Quick dial in the cube ?. I tried to first set the contacts in the cube and then delete them off the home plug and insert another set of contacts in the home plug. But after a Soft reset the contacts in the home plug are reset with the ones on the cube.
