I downloaded 30 minutes ago from megaupload. I don't see the HTC Keyboard anywhere and I have the blue theme :) I did see the new black theme on the setup though. I can see the themes too, but when I choose "Uitstralen" nothing changes....

could you specify the rom you've downloaded, is it a dutch one?

becouse the dutch one is version 2.21 not the new 2.52.
And in the dutch version, he dont run the tsk at the beginning.

And indeed the dutch version hasn't got the keyboard, and the commgr is indeed different then the original touch one.

It doesnt realy matter, im downloading the 2.52 WWE right now :) First I was all hyped about dutch, but now I'm used to english I just found out. When I see words like "uitstralen" i think..wtf :) ?

I need to get used to the new startmenu as well, I'm sure I will in time. But I cant find the screen to set the shortcuts for the left and right button (you know, contacts etc..) Since I want pocketCM there :)

I really like the new start menu layout! (I come from 2.21 btw)
Me as a Dutch guy prefer the English version though, but a Dutch word completion would be nice. I noticed one thing btw:

I setup the date/time after the first start. Then I selected Regional settings: Dutch and used the reboot function in the start menu.
After the reboot the date and time were reset too... Not a big issue though. Concentrate on more important things!

If we can manage to make the fix, you probably can fix it in the register becouse the dictionairy files are already present, so yes. But i do not give you guarantees.

BTW, remember to insert a SD before it does the EXT Config, if not you'll find yourself with a Storage Card folder and a Storage Card2 ;)

You could rename and copy later, but that requieres a soft reset and 2 visits to the Advance Config app.

Just Flashed it. The Program Memory is a big leap over the previous ones, and cooking Total Commander & PHM Reg Edit and others are sweet, I dont have to install anything more than this.

One drawback though (at least for me) is the Fav.Contacts is still linked to the Quick Dial on the cube. Tried the reg fix posted by Noonski, but still no dice.

Hi Denis,
Direct push is there. to place it on your Comm MGR menu got to>start>Programs>System Tools> and click on advanced Configuration.
Once in that tab over on the bottom row of options till you come to the Command Manager. On this you will see that you can set those keys to any Comm app that is on the phone...

I would just put a note on the first post just saying that it might not work if you have a SDHC card in your ELF. mine failed until i noticed a comment on one of the pages saying his didnt work with the SDHC inserted.

Then they put in all the Language Files and let us fugure out how to make them selectable.

I don't have the time tonight anymore.

But a registry dump before and after changing from English to Italian in Start > Settings > Input > TOuch Keyb settings. Might hold the anwser to get the other Languages available allready in the Rom.

Did do this (English to French), but not getting much wiser. The following keys changed:
HKLM\software\tegic\et9\defaultlanguage (English: 109 French: 10C)

Hi, I would say that removing the "Sotorage Card" it is necessary to kill the process that is using, Memmaid or some other, but can not ... I believe that killing the process "poutlock.exe" or "tmail.exe" can now remove the folder.

Incidentally, I do not have any problem with "audio manager nor with photos of the SD only to me like that Htc Album estubiera in modod vertically, as does anyone know? Sorry for my ignorance ...:(

First go to:

HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\

in there you find 3 folder's:

App1_1 == Music
App1_2 == Pictures
App1_3 == Videos

Since I have no problems with the settings for music, and i don't use the video's that much
i will only explain here for the app1_2 folder, but i works exactly the same for all three

enter the App1_2 folder in wich you will find an entry called Path and a entry called Param

For this on you only need to change the Param setting in which the default location is saved

change the param setting to "-directory:\Storage Card\DCIM\100MEDIA\" without the quotes ofcourse

softreset and you are done...

This ROM is made for the HTC Touch....
Its not made for the Touch Dual...

This is called Touch Dual, because there are apps in this ROM that come along with the new Touch Dual.

Sorry to bother, but since I instaled 2.23 I cannot place calls from African countries that I am visiting but have no problem from Europe. This is an issue that I had with the initial Radio installed on my Touch but which was solved since I installed PDAviet 707.08 and following version.

Do you use a different radio version? Before I install 2.52, do you happen to know if the Radio release included in it is newer than the one delivered with 2.23?

In the action menu, when you click on "New SMS" it just goes back to the homescreen. Also, on settings/gprs I can only select authentication mode. But I need to set more which I can't find. And the last bug is that I can't see a way to refresh the weather. I can select the city, but that seems to be all? Is there a special way to refresh?

the t-mobile gprs settings must be inserted in settings/connections/connections

Seach on t-mobile for the correct settings.

and then you'll be able to connect through gprs and get weather info.

When you select a picture as a wallpaper, you get a dialog to adjust opacity of the picture. chage that to 0 and you'll have a full color picture.

I have manged to use a old Default HTC theme to change the HTC home screen, so its just black, not with the strips on it.

As for changing the Wallpaper opacity, where is this option? i only get to change the wallpaper not decide the opacity of it.

hey influenceuk, so you installed it and no problems..internet connection, bluetooth ,wifi making and recieving calls

i a touch ..its not sprint ..its from asia...so it should be still ok to install and its stable yes..i dont want to mess up my phone in any way.

sometimes i think i should just leave it the way it is...

Great ROM!, but why are extra apps cooked in the latest release? Are they must haves? Isn't it much easier to add with extra CAB's to keep the ROM clean and be able to remove them if necessary? Would be nice if there is a clean version, isn't that called 'vanilla'? One thing I really hope is that someone can cook an ELF ROM including Microsoft Voice Command working in stead of the lousy HTC (cyberon) solution...

download the version 2.52 in the language that you want from the first post..

WWE is English

download and install activesync 4.5 from microsoft.. plug your phone in and make sure it's connected...

run USPL from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320155

after that process.. keep your phone connected with activesync ... and then run ROMUpdateUtility.exe from the file you downloaded on first post of this thread

follow instructions and it will flash the phone

- Adobe Reader LE 2.0 -> I can´t find it
- Pocket Screen capture -> I can´t find it
- HTC Touch Dual Contacts are not linked if you come from -> HTC Touch Dual Action Screen -> new sms -> searching for a contact

additional program (which is not mentioned in your description to the german rom):
- PIM Backup

and at last some questions:
- can I disable your HTC Home and install others like "Kaiser.HTC.Home.v2.0.814.722-schen.weatherpatched"? and the homecustomizer in this romversion?
(- can I install "advanced configurationtool v1.1" over the old version?

Yup,
Your warranty goes out of the window, if you flash anything other than the original ROM. The original ROM 1.117201b WWE ( India / Airtel ROM I presume), is not released by HTC, I dont think they will release it yet. However, You can make a dump of the Original ROM - steps available on the Wiki - Elf section. Thats a great way to start knowing about ROMS.

That's right, i took the radio out, made a radio only rom for it. If you can't install it, please run uspl again.

The nl edition has no htc keyboard, becouse the flaws arent'fixed jet.
and the cube contacts bug cannot be fixed now, we need the correct regsettings for this.

Problem is gone... have deleted the profiles on phone and computer and than didn not enter the sync infos directly on device but in activ sync.. and synced the first time over activesync pc connection.... now all entries are here.. i think there where a problem while syncing the first time with gprs...

Bram, I have a BIG problem with the 2.52 WWE version (I just noticed)...
I can't access anything related to messages. I can't send SMS, read SMS or send email or whatsoever. When I receive a SMS the lights goes on, and off. It doesnt vibrate or says I have a message. When you click on a button related to sms/messages, it doesnt do anything...

Is there a workaround or something? Since I realy can't miss SMS :)

I just flashed the 2.52 WWE and it is working GREAT thank a lot it is jus wath i was waiting for. i love the home plug in and i like that the icon are like the original rom please in the nexts rom leavet like it. or give us and optional rom like this one whit the original htc flavor.

maybe for the next version you would consider using the JBed midlet manager instead of the TAO Intent one that HTC supplies??

TAO Intent is no longer in existance and all new HTC products are switching to the Esmertec Jbed midlet manager.. which is by far a better midlet manager in the first place

I installed the latest version of live messenger (Windows Live 10.6.33.0600 (Fixed)) so it does'nt sync the contact etc. The version that comes with this rom forces the sync.
Try to update (just install in your phone memory not your memory card) and try again.

The version included is version 2600, and it does'nt sync contacts in contacts also, The bug you guys found has to do with translation files i think.

Included Radio ROM file on this thread doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure if it is only me or if anyone has any problems. It goes up to 79% and seems to finish and then says error in Windows that file size error and the phone reboots and starts up fine.

I am currently using a non-cooked 1.11.707.1B WWE. It never crashed or locked.
(couldn't get used to the factory provided dutch WM6, after so many years of using only english interface, I really needed to read the menu items, instead of simply recognizing the words by their shape as I do in english :p It takes too much time :) Looking desperately for "Mute" and finaly realizing I should look for "Dempen" :D)

I just noticed something odd. When I press a button on the cube's applauncher page the icon doesnt show its "pressed" state. It will change the text from white to gray, but the button itself doesnt change. At first I thought it was because of my customization, but it had the behaviour by default.

I noticed a similar thing on the Touch Dual CommManager. The bar you press doesnt change white when held down, only its text changes.

Now it could all be working like this by design in the new ROM, or not, and in that case its a bug. Anyone see this on their ROM as well?

31Mb??? Wow, the maximum thing that I have obtained in a rom they are 29Mb, and deactivating Touch Flo, I do not use it, I would like knowing as you have obtained it because it seems to me that nobody in the Touch has obtained so much memory.

I tested a few settings to get to 31 MB. But it wasn't that stable on mine.

But somethingwe have never tried is kicking out some init start ups.

So i'll be looking into what we need adn what we dont' personally i don't ever had the need for SAP setup. And that also frees up some memory without brining instability. Sap setup is verys specific and not a lot of people also setup their touch with their BT carkit. So depending on the user base it can be killed. And for those that need it i can make a very small cab. Choices choices. But shouldn't we be glad that memory is a lot more stable now?

1. Audio Manager cannot launch Player (bug?? Anyone getting this??)
2. How to turn-off T9. (I'm so sorry but it's very annoying when typing)
3. How-to change font in Comm Manager. (it's kinda hard to read + small)

5. I did get some hang after soft-reset few times (struck on HTC Dual screen page) any idea?

First congratulations for the excelent rom, in my opinion (and seeing the number of pages in this topic) is the best rom for the elf.

I´ve installed the 2.20 WWE version and all sounds great, but I have only little doubt: I notice that the alfabetical index disapeared from the contacts, I saw this index one time only. Is it normal? I checked the box "Show Alfabetical Index" in the options menu of the contacts but nothing happens.

By the way, could someone post screenshots of the version 2.52?

Before i flashed with this rom, the "word suggestion" worked exactly how i wanted it to work. When i for example was about to write an sms to someone, i could start typing the persons name, and the name and number for the person was suggested in a little window (a sort of automatic name check)... With this rom, i don't get any suggestions... I looked in the SIP-settings, and everythin is as it should be, "4 words suggestion" and so on...
Why don't i get these suggestions?

Is there a registry setting to re-enable the symbol pad and the word completion?

Also, is there a registry setting to return to the original menu's under the "start" button instead of this long and hiearchic style?

You can disable quickmenu by taping start/quickmenu and there should be a settings thingy

Please try to include new HTCPlus Today plugin if possible.....
its not working in my Touch as 3rd party software....

and of course thanks for the great ROM.....

The problem at first glance seems to be that it has a few shared files with regular HTCHome plugin that it cannot overwrite.

The plug in will most probaply work withou issues in Roms that don't have HTCHome intergrated. Or when it's cooked into a rom by a cook.

I flashed my phone 3 times with this ROM, and every time i experience a lot of bugs (sms dissapearing, buggy text-input++), and to top it all, a very slow phone... Not to mention the unnecessary removal of Network Wizard and other useful software... Sure this can be installed, but it can also be removed if not useful...

Gone back to Blue Touch ROM... Happy now :D

Now I want to hard reset the device, since there is no USB connection possible any more. :( Nothing what has been advised works , e.g. remove the battery, try again and again (how without USB connection?!). :confused:

So: How can I (hard) reset my device out of the tri-colour bootloader screen?

3. Go to the sticky topic about USPL unflashing (mentioned in the 1st post)

The 3 coloured screen is the bootloader, if you followed the instructions on 1 and 3 you should be able to flash the RUU. Active sync not needed, your pc will see your touch as a usb device which is sufficient.

In any case, before you start flashing it's always nice to find out as much info as possible. Otherwise it is like getting married without knowing your spouse....;)

p.s: hard reset: press simultanious the green and red button AND the use your stick to enter the little hole. after the message hit enter.

I've tried that several times. The tri-colour screen bounces back and becomes my nightmare! :mad:

Same when trying the hard reset. The device is not impressed at all! When connecting to the PC via USB a message appears on the PC: "A USB device does not function correctly". I am trying to flash anyway, to no avail.

But I know there is a way. This is not the first time I am flashing a ROM (MDA Pro, Trion). Worked always fine, but read about my current problem from other fellows. And finally they got it solved. That keeps me from getting mad, because my Touch, or PDA for that matter, is my lifeline.

i noticed that when creating a new sms from the action screen... after you send the message.. the messaging program does not close.. but does not show up in running programs either..

you have to open "messaging" again.. then close it.. to get back the ram used..

is this a problem that'll be solved in new version or a problem with HTC...

Flash back original Stock rom for your provider and remove Sim and SD card first.

What happens when you do reset with stylus and press and hold Red and Green buttons?

Does it ask for a reformat?
If so can you try to.

This might sound daft, but do you still have the SD card inserted in the PDA, my flashing didnt work until i removed the SD card, it had a right hissie fit, and then straight away it worked.

My brick is alive again! :) Followed a trial & error combination of the 2 ways as described >> here (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeProblems)

In the end it was the mitty1.42.exe which did the trick, I presume.

For the removal of the SD and SIM cards, sure I did it.

After flashing USPL, and when in bootmode, you'll never be able to get the active sync icon 'live', but your PC should recognize your Touch as a USB device.

If not: re-boot your PC. remove the SD card from ur Touch. Connect your touch (in bootmode) to your PC. Windows should see a 'new' USB connection. Run the RUU.exe

Hope this helps. If not you might want to wait for the more senior members to give you some other hints, tips or tricks

Everytime i wanna flash your genial Rom on my new T Mobile Touch XL there is an error message called corrupt file updat error.

I tried the CID Unlocker on my Touch XL an could flash to the Original Dopod WWE 2.20. Everything with this file is fine but i wann try your German Version.

Can you give me a tipp what can be wrong.

I also tried another Rom and the same error message appears.

What do i have to do run the CID Unlocker again.

Hey derflo.. This rom built by Bram is a "Touch Dual" look alike ROM for Normal HTC Elf or Touch with 128MB RAM/64MB ROM only. You count yourself lucky that your flashing was not successfully or you could have bricked your Touch XL. Then only an original DOPOD ROM could revive your device.

Please read carefully the ROM information before flashing it.

Is there any German Version i can use? Do i have to use the CID Unlocker again when i wann flash my Touch (now the Dopod Rom is used)???

Unfortunately, my mobile phone is branded by O2, so I cannot tell you exactly, what the original name of my phone should be (Is it a p3450?!). This is, what I can tell:

- The phone was sold by O2 Germany as an "XDA nova".
(I was told (and also believe) that this is an HTC Elf / touch.)

- My user's manual says at the very end, the model number is "ELF0200".
(In this thread here, I read that the ROM update is for ELF0100. So is my device incompatible?!)

- 64 MB RAM with 128MB Flash (In this thread I read about another device, called Touch XL, with twice the memory. So my phone doesn't seem to be of that kind).

Device Information:
- ROM Version: 1.11.207.1 GER
- ROM Date: 05/24/07
- Radio: 02.94.90
- ExtROM Version: 1.11.207.101
