I'm actually having a similar problem flashing just about any ROM to my Touch- fails at 3% - sometimes with "image file is corrupted" sometimes with "invalid vendor id" - depending on the ROM I try to flash.

I also heard of the same problem... I'm wondering if installing Office 2007 from the separate CAB will overwrite the existing office installation and repair it or if it will cause problems

If any one can download TheLoons Kitchen (Wizard thread sticky) and then only post the Package folder for Excell i can compare this to full office installer and make a cab with fix. Or bram has to make new Rom version with full ofice version. Also i can inform The Loon about this. Because i don't think Bram has any fault in this bug.

I will look into it tonight. I got the registry entry's from the installer of the 6.1 version of office and deleted some of them but i dont remember exactly which ones so i'll repeat what i did back then tonight and write down what i'm deleting so im 100% sure i got the right ones :)

If you can't find or don't wish to install the wizard, you might try reading the instructions at T-Mobile's web site.

Under Support/Services, you can pick a service and then select any WM5 or WM6 PDA shown the list. The same settings will work on your Elf.
For example, you could select iPAQ h6315 an then "configure your phone".

You might try using their "Wireless configurator" to send you the options, or just read the values to fill in during the manual SMS, MMS or internet configuration.

I have done the same few times before without network wizard, just by looking up the instructions provided by my provider's internet site here in Holland (Telfort NL). I suppose most of the providers in the world have this type of instructions on their sites.

This is an CAB (installation archive) file.

Just go to the place you have copied the cab-file (storage card, for example) and then click it with the stylus to start it. It will ask you if you wish to install it on the phone or on the card (I'd select the phone to be sure).

After installing the program, you don't need the CAB file anynmore, you can delete it. The network wizard programe will stay until you remove it in the settings/remove programs.

I tried the cab file (Fix for the Excell issue), but unfortunately it didn't work. After install excel still cnnot be started.

There is no option to install, the extention is not a cab file. After flashing this ROM it seams that the device is not reading install files as is used to. When I select them it says that there is not a file associated with the file.

The password is mostly written in the manual..
And the password is mostly 0000 or 00000000
But i guess you have tried that already..?

What i did to get office working:

Go to your \Windows folder and delete the pxl.exe file.

In your registry delete the following key's

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Pocket Word


After that download the following file:

Copy the CAB file to your phone's and install it on your Phone Memory

I couldnot delete the pxl.exe file (ROM) and the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell") the install of the cab file succeeded and now Excel works.

as far as i understood the prerequisites in the right way, my xda should be ok to become flashed with this great rom. or is my device (here are the specs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340633&page=75&highlight=iroess)), against my conjecture, maybe not the right one?! if not, which parameter doesn't fit?! and is there (or will there be) any rom i could use instead?!

Just took a look at my phone's Model number and it's an ELF0300 (i've used the device information tool in settings -> device information or something simular).

Dont know how many versions there are of the ELF and what the differences are between them.

XDA- Nova Users have in the recent past posted about their troubles flashing the ROM. The trouble seems to be with CID Unlock process, do go through the Sticky thread about the CID Unlock - there might be a solution

What i did to get office working:

Also since i can't read this whole thrad, anyone notice the new behaviour of the Phone dialer?
It used to bring full details when pressing the contact after using smart dial.
Now you can only switch between different phone numbers using d-Pad or when press and holding on contact and choosing Properties?

I just noticed something odd. When I press a button on the cube's applauncher page the icon doesnt show its "pressed" state. It will change the text from white to gray, but the button itself doesnt change. At first I thought it was because of my customization, but it had the behaviour by default.

I noticed a similar thing on the Touch Dual CommManager. The bar you press doesnt change white when held down, only its text changes.

Now it could all be working like this by design in the new ROM, or not, and in that case its a bug. Anyone see this on their ROM as well?

Yeah, this happened to me too. I checked the registry and the path for the icons seem to be OK, but when I go to the app launcher I don't get a highlighted icon when I press an app. Anyone have any ideas? BTW, this is my first time upgrading a ROM and I think I'm getting addicted :)

today i made a hardreset and did the same. now i have the old interface in the contatcs menu.

Integrated in this ROM is the Google Maps 1.2 application. How can i update this version to the new one? Do I have to delete the old Google Maps files manually and install the new version from Google? Thanks in advance!

Well officially you cannot replace the baked one, but i found a solution.
1. download the newest cab file.
2. install the newest cab onto you memory stick (you will have 2 google maps links in you program folder nog)
3. open totalcmd and browse to the googlemaps folder you just installed.
4. copy all the files that are in that folder.
5. Paste them into the windowsfolder (they will overide the olders ones)
6. Remove the googlemaps you've installed onto your memorystick trough the normal way start>settings>Remove programs

And there you go, you've got the newest googlemaps on your touch with only 1 link in the programs folder:D

Thanks! I've managed to work your steps as described and it works. I only had one little odd problem while installing the new version of Google Maps. Somehow my Touch managed to install Google Maps on my device instead of my Storage Card (Ignoring my Storage Choice :mad: ). Why this happens is unclear to me. I've tried it about 3 times and they all landed on ..\Program Files\Google Maps\ on the device :eek: .

Before installing Google Maps I did manage to install some other application on the Storage Card. So there is nothing wrong there. Anyhow, I just copied the contents of ..\Program Files\Google Maps\ to \Windows\ and deleted Google Maps afterwards, using the default method to remove applications, like you described in your last step number 6.

My Touch now has one link to Google Maps and runs latest version of the application. Great!, now i can enjoy the "My Location" feature :p.

when i install (or at least try to install...) the very famous Textplus keyboard, it installs succesfully on this ROM but when activating this keyboard, the touch hangs completely. only removal of Textplus can bring the touch back to life...

I had it installed before on my original Touch NL rom, and it worked like a charm....

Well you can still use 2.52 you must see it a a growing rom. You can use previous versions but the may lack programs or features. And the could have a bug that would be fixed in a later version.

am I right in thinking that instead of downloading the next version of 2.52 which would be 2.72, if i get Surface 1.75 it will be the advanced version of 2.52..... ??
