Thanks for the response. I bought a new battery recently but with no better results. I completely drained the battery in boothloader's mode and recharged it with no effect. So I don't believe it's the battery.

I would still consider hardware not software or rom. Keep a note of what you did before it crashes. does it stay stable if you just leave it alone?

Hi,
How long have you had your battery, it is possible that the battery is unable to provide the required ampage to power all the functions you require. Do you have another battery you can try with?
I would also advise completely draining your battery and then recharging fully.
I dont believe any others have reported GSM crash with this Rom (I could be wrong though)
on the first version of full flavour my battery only lasted about 2.0 hours top, this was after turning the over clocking off and brightness down etc. the power meter reports the battery level wrong on my phone which would die about 50%. i found having the SD card out made the battery last longer (and the meter go to a lower percentage). i have now flashed to the update and my phone lasts at least 6 hours normal use (not tested past 6 hours or let die). could the SD driver of been causing a problem?
The batterry i have is the orginal one that came with the phone about 24 months ago. I will try a new one to see if it recognises it properely.
Lithium Ion: With these batterys it does not matter from what level they are charged from they will not suffer from a battery memory, however a Lithium Ion battery that is left fully charged will not last as long as an uncharged battery.
hope this helps

thanks again master!! hmmmm... it seems that the 2.07.05.FF version is better than the SD only version. i'll try it later. sir, if ever i want to downgrade back to wm5, will it be the same procedure as upgrading?
yup. same procedure.

Hey Guys,
I've been having some gsm crashes and also my sim card no inserted messages with the rom..
Maybe I have a hardware problem , or it's the rom. I had it with other roms too, I need to go back to WM5 see if it continues.
I usually get this in areas with low reception, and I had it on GSM radio 1.18 and 1.14.10. When I flash the rom it doesn't happen, starts happening a few days afterwards I think.

hi guys!!! i installed the 2.07.05 FF version, and its working flawlessly with my xda exec. i didnt upgrade my radio version, still using the stock 1.09 version. didnt upgrade my bootloader to 1.0, still with the stock 1.00 version. sd works well, no disappearing act. :)

Hi B&L great efforts for best roms.
I've install today 2.07.05 FF SD Only ROM and i have encountered 2 problems
1. SD card (2Gb Kingston) is not available same thing for an old 128Mb SD card
2. I've intensively used WiFi and close the lid with WiFi on. When i opened after 7-8 hours the batery was gone. I've put the charger on and when i tried to turn off the wifi with no result. in comm manager WiFi is off but the icon near the clock shows WiFi on. when i've tried to start WiFi from comm manager nothing happens. After soft reset i activeted and deactivated wifi and returned to normal
Great job guys
hi! tryn using the 2.07.05 FF version instead of the SD only version. my normal sd works well with the 2.07.05 ff version. i didnt install anything to make my 2gb transcend SD card to work.

Hi,
Yes it's a great app, I'm trying to make up a decent skin for our VGA Devices that looks somewhat similar to the HTC Home plugin. Then I may include in the next release, which will hopefully be a newer OS and Build too, with FlashDisk for you G3 users.........KOR....that's if there is any space left to allocate to the FlashDisk.

Hi guys,
I've been using 2.07.05.BL_FF for a while now and on the whole it's pretty good. The only niggles I've had till now (apart from the sd problem which I solved by getting an sdhc card) are these:
1. occasionally wifi refuses to switch on and I can only switch it on after a soft reboot. A pointer as to what may be causing this would be much appreciated.
2. My battery quits at 40%. I've tried the "discharge on bootloader trick" by still no improvement. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be such a big problem for me as I keep my uni connected to my laptop at work most of the time, however it seems that when the uni switches off at 40%, it does so because the battery voltage has *really* gone way down - and this without the OS noticing and with no warnings. Due to this sometimes I start getting strange behaviour such as gsm radio crashes, wifi booboos and corrupted files on the sd card when it starts nearing 40%. I've now ordered a new battery so hopefully I'll get better results.

I'm very grateful that you guys are round continuing to develop for my mostloved device!
I have tried this version 2.07.04 (business), but I can't use it because of very bad phone sound on the other side! Voice sounds metallic, clinking in the high frequencies.
So I went back again to L26 V3 ... and have no Java, which I would like a lot, for displaying panoramas with ptviewer ME (http://webuser.fh-furtwangen.de/~dersch/PTViewerME/Readme.txt). Anyway, it didn't work with the last Rm either, because of lack of 3D graphics.
That's a real shame, since the large display would be very suitable to carry panoramas to be shown right away mobile...

is it possible to seriously update the standard calculator to a full scientific one, i dont use the calculator there because it is tool simple. should i hunt one down or does someone know of one?
I use PlusCalc (http://www.koneditor.com/pluscalc.html) and would like to see MSCalc replaced with this one.
nb: i miss the new system icons, they made the rom different i liked them, they didnt seem poor quality to me. I also play the games, when you are bored in the dentist you dont always have the concentration to play solitaire, however worms sounds good fun.
Yes, perhaps you can just leave "bstyico.dll" in so we can use those great icons (anyone got the file?)

Oh ok,
Icons attached, there are many more icons in the dll too, I shall eventually get round to a new icon file with a lot more icons in it, if you have reshacker or VS or similar, you can open the dll to see the icons, then you can change the icon.lnk files to reference the ones you like.
Currently there are 44 icons in the dll to choose from.
Yes I'll update calc on the next build, it does suck I agree, and also run my own flavour off the SD card.

I use QuickMenu 2.7 - this replaces the StartMenu, displays running tasks, enables close button to become that and more. Only a 22k footprint. It's homepage is www.alensw.com (http://www.alensw.com/read.php?1) (I know, I can't read it either!)
I downloaded it from freewarepocketpc (http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-quickmenu-v2-7.html), or you can read translated homepage using Google (http://translate.google.com/translate?sourceid=navclient&hl=en-GB&u=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2ealensw%2ecom%2fread%2ephp%3f1 )
I find pBar and others don't handle the close button properly when it's [ok] rather than [x]. wkTask is too 'clunky'.
I posted this somewhere else (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=342039&page=2#post1648862), and someone (using Jwrightmcps ROM) informed it didn't work well (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=342039&page=2#post1653759)on their Exec. Can someone confirm this on BeastyLeo ROM and perhaps it's a nice inclusion to the ROM, rather than trying to put everything on the close/minimise/ok button.

When I eventually get around to finishing the shiny new Kitchen, you'll be able to decompile, create your own OEMs (with no knowledge) and re-compile at the click of a button.
When is a never ending when at the moment though......... hopefully once the new build is released.........

KOR: I meant that in order for a device to act as a USB host, it needs a specific component in the connector subsystem, not just a simple piece of hardware. Also, USB HDD does not enable the device to function as a host, but as an SD card reader.

So far, even the HyperCore kitchen was too complicated for me...:S

Haha,
My kitchen is simply an overlay for dummies........(no offence intended mate)
A couple of buttons and dropdowns in a graphical interface that makes cooking a rom a lot easier for "noobs" (horrible word that)

An overlay for me noob: just what I need.
I couldn't get the Hypercore to work, it kept giving me all sorts of error messages a I tried to dissect the ROM for editing, changing cabs, etc...
Otherwise I got around to mounting an extracted image file with winimage, so I could see the cabs inside, but I have absolutely no idea how to create a new cab from scratch. Though I'm looking for tuts on the 'Net, and stuff, and learning ;)

All the apps are pre-installed, they can not be un-installed, but do not take up any storage space. There is plenty of space left to install anything additional that you like.

Hi Equancy,
I suggest a read here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_effect
There is no definitive guide on how to best look after a battery, but personally charge wherever possible, even it's only 10mins worth, seems to keep mine going for a good two years at a time.

Yeah, like Beast said, your battery is probably afflicted by memory effect(unlikely, since only NiCd batteries suffer from this condition, though in NiMH or Li-ION batteries, it can accumulate over time as well), or at the end of its effective lifetime. I suggest trying the device with another battery, if you can get one.Since the charge monitoring is handled at a very low level within the ROM, it's nearly impossible that this is a software malfunction. Especially since mine isn't having any problems with the same ROM...
As for the other, either report them at the Bugtracker, or just wait for the newest update of the ROM, on Nov 16;)

I've upgraded latest rom ( I hope your new rom will have Smart-X and RealVGA 1.1 )
Other rom hasn't any problem with call but well gprs,
now no problem with gprs ( only GSM not 3g )
But I don't understand
how the battery goes to empty.
cuz : This battery completely new and unused ( li-ion battery's are never goes empty or dead end while unused state ) ( nimh batteries are well goes dead end ( deep discharge ) )
If I explain it as a measurement problem,
How that can it happened
cuz :
the battery get empty in power-off state.
I have %65 level charge of battery before sleeping ( 6 hours later )
when I control to my battery at morning then my phone doesn't turn on.
completely empty.
Li-ion batteries are never never never never get empty in 6 hours while standby mode or off mode.
original battery have same problem
new battery have same problem
is there no good battery to buy?
my another battery stayed in box and he have still %50 battery. ( 6 days )
now
I can't say anything about it:(

G'day all,
I have tried everything I can think of! The format and re-flash Beast suggested, downgrading to radio 1.15. I even tried installing the Business ROM - been trying full until now - but still the same issues. I also downloaded fresh copies of everything in case I got a corrupt files and re-flashed. Still the same issues.
Guess I will have to wait for Friday's ROM and see if that one works...
PS. In a previous post I stated I have a G5, typo, its a G4 obviously.
G’day all,
I have a question: has anyone tried this ROM on Radio 1.18? Loaded the latest release last night and it has been a nightmare ever since! I’ve had to reboot about 20 times since because of freezes. I’ve been trying to pin it down to a certain app or function but have only been able to narrow it down to time; as in 30-60 mins after a boot anything I open hangs the Uni. Once or twice it recovered by itself after about 5 minutes but mostly I just get too frustrated and reset. Also, trying to kill apps from WKTask or Memory simply does not work –the particular two that has most of the problems are IE and Active Stink.
Now I’ve had enough experience with B&L ROM’s to know that this is not a ROM issue so I’m thinking Radio.
Comments?

I am confused that no one else has reported this issue.
Could you have a look on your device for me and PM me the History.txt file in the root of the device.
Cheers,
Beasty

Hello,
On occasion when I send an SMS:
- I get no "Message sent" notification.
- I get no delivery report
- I get no replies to my message
In effect I lose all incoming messages to my device and I have to reboot. The sms actually does get sent however.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Do you have "Request notifications"(or something like that) enabled, to have the network send you a delivery notification?
The message sent notification I think can be enabled in sounds and notifications in Settings.
As for losing all incomings to your device, I have no freakin' idea:confused:. They do get delivered after the reboot, right? If so, it might just be lag...
My best advice is that you wait for the newest update of the ROM, on 16 November, flash that, and if the problem persists, post it on the Bugtracker as well, so Beasty can keep track of it...
Good luck, mate!;)

did you cleared your phone after flashing the rom, you have to do this by pressing the 2 soft keys, while you are doing a soft reset

Is there a way to show the battery condition on the desktop as in WM5. I have searched all the menus etc to find a way to do this but I cannot see anything. I am sure there must be a box to tick or something but where.

Hi mzalan,
Thanks for the advice, however the problem is not caused by the items you suggested. I use MS Voice Command and set it up to announce incoming messages, so now I'm wondering whether it had anything to do with it. I've now disabled announcements in MSVC. I'll see how things go from now on and let you guys know.

2.07.05 was 64 mb ram only. Support for both G3 and G4, but no support for 128mb ram device.
