Another Hybrid Rom Build 18533.0.7.0 with CE OS 5.2.1921

This Rom is based on my last Rom but with a more stable CE OS taken From Helmi_C's Rom.

I cannot support my last Rom anymore as my computer crashed this morning and I lost all my work, sorry guys.:( I will try and help if people still need me to but all my work regarding that build as gone.

I have been using the rom for a few hours and I havent encountered any problems so far , not saying there arent any but A Rom will not be perfect for everyone as I recently found out.

Its the latest Build 18533.0.7.0 with CE OS 5.2.1921

Its not easy as making a Rom you could have a try. I find it hard making a Rom for kaiser than making a Rom For Hermes. Let me know if you make one based on 5.2.1933:) . Helmi_C is the master at that, I am just like You.

Two biggest changes are touch keyboard is removed will be available as cab and new battery fix to kaiser's original meaning battery level showing bars and power level now goes down by 1%. Also newer and stable CE OS

i have some ideas on the new rom.

1. change the ugly old program icons to new or nicer icons.
2. organize the programs in a proper place either in a folder or where you think they should go.

I tried the last hybrid - it was ALMOST perfect for me. Can't figure out why my HSDPA data connections were getting suspended during voice calls (never happened on the original AT&T ROM) - Is that still the case? Is there a reg hack to fix that issue?

Oh, one very minor thing - WMStorage doesn't work. But then I don't think it works at all on Kaiser yet. Not a big deal, doesn't break anything. I'll just pretend it's not there :)

he didn't install a java midlet because there are different ones out there and people like different ones...go to his cabs sticky in the regular kaiser forums and he's two different ones in there...i use the jbed once since thats what came with the ATT Tilt and i got opera mini all configured with it...

Ok here's what's strange. My voice command just started working all of a sudden. The only possible thing I may have done was soft reset the phone.

I looked in my registry and I do not have that entry. My voice command is currently working without it.

My phone vibrates when I receive a SMS message. I use phone alarm wonder if that makes a difference??

Didn't install anything yet, just ran the "Advanced Config"

How can any ROM these days not shipping with the voice dialer ??

Just performed a hardreset, and the 8th choice "beam" is now back. Will try to see what I did for it to disappear.. I think it's linked to the Schap's advanced config utility
Edit: Yep, that's what it is. If you start the Advanced Config Utility, then the "beam" option in the comm manager will disappear

just copy it to the windows file, ( before copying make sure to uncheck the read-only and system from the existing powerexe.exe in windows folder by total commander--> right click on the file-->properties)

No issues here with vibrate working perfectly, it could be you install a 3rd party application wich is affecting it.

Recent program gets clear after every soft reset by start clean in start up folder

if you use advance config just be careful you select all 10 programs in advanced config before clicking done.

Hi, nice rom, i just upgraded, the comm manager seems to work fine and the bluetooth is also running, but my WIFI is still jumping. It turns off itself while connecting to any network. if there is no network, it will stay ON, but as soon as i try to connect it to any network, bamm, after 3 seconds it turns OFF by itself... any suggestions. WIFI works fine on factory ROM.... please help.. great rom though, excellent work and appreciate the changes.

Interesting bug.

When I went to check on the MMS settings in the messaging application, The Done button has no effect and I can not quit that screen.

It also shows up as an empty menu entry

When I open mms and then choose tools-options-mms I have one set of settings

When I open mms or text or my mail and press (A) (the bug in the menu) I have another set of mms settings and when I change some setting it will not be changed in the other set of mms settings. Wich settings should be used, the one under tool-options or the other one? :)

Even moore weird - the about under tools-option-mms shows version 4.2.8.1 of MMS composer

the other one shows 4.0.21.28. Seems that the mms is some fucked up :)

Back to Helmis once more I think, will test your next rom of course Dutty - keep the good work up :)

Problem solved, actually it was a setting in Active sync which u must enable to let the wifi run while synchronizing. after turning on the option, it works like a charm. WIFI blutooth both stable. ROM is excellent, ur work is really great.

Another bug.
In the settings -> buttons

You can assign a different functions for button 4 and button 4 (press and hold). The press and hold function has no effect whatsoever...

It looks like button 4 (pres & hold) is the OK button
Button 4 is in fact button 5 (camera button)

use advance config and hit the permoance tab. bump those settings up a notch or two. also check your input settings....instead of suggesting 4 words...set it to suggest 1 word...and kick in after two letter instead of right away.

Go and grab this program called GPS Test. Let it run and wait for it to say the GPS is running... it'll go through the searching for the GPS unit, then trying to start it up, then it will finish and get things configured correctly. I'm not sure why, but after GPS Test is done, everything else seems to work well.

I have been visiting this forum ever since I got a Magician. xda-developers actually has been the primary reason why I also bought a Wizard, and now the Tilt.

Thank you and all the other contributors here for letting these devices perform better than what the carriers expect. Also, a bigger thanks for making me waste senseless hours installing, upgrading, hard-resetting.

About my experiences from Dutty's current release:

GPS took a while to start. I did a couple of resets, and all of a sudden it decided to work.

GPS Photo is not enabled, but I prefer to use locr GPS Photo anyway.

Dutty's Kaiser Touch Flo Alpha 2 works fine. In order to customize TouchFlo, I used Touch Settings 1.22. I used it to replace Pictures with HTC Album, Videos with TCPMP, and Tasks with Sudoku.

Finger sliding works both left to right and right to left on HTC Album. It would be nice to have that in TouchFlo.

I obviously had to install Tilt keyboard fix. I would also like to start using TouchPalSip, but I'm very used to using the stylus.

On a side note, does anyone know if there will be an extended battery and cover for the Tilt?

I beleive the use of good quality Li-Ion batteries would negate this fact. Think about Laptops do manufactures suggest you only dock or plug up when you are almost dead?

I am not saying I am 100% correct, but I think some people are too worried.

this newest rom works great for me only i cant get the sirius music player to stream, it just shows the channel info, all that but just sits at buffering 0% other than that only problem i have had is the PTT button must not be configured for anything or whatever it is for it is missing, thats not really a problem tho, but sirius would be great on this Kaiser any suggestions? btw that is through wmp and tcpmp as well

I'm not even using that rom anymore and it's not included in the current rom. I didnt post asking how to remove it since it's not an issue now. I was commenting on past problems that shouldnt even exist in the first place.

Dutty, thank you for making such an excellent ROM and giving such good instruction that this first-time flasher was able to figure it all out quickly. I do have one problem that I wonder if you can help with.

I am unable to receive email through my messaging app. I can see the 3G icon on the top of the screen, and when I do a send-receive, it says "Connecting to My ISP GPRS, Connecting to GPRS, 3G". That message flashes twice, then goes away and it displays the following error message:

"Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings. If the problem continues, reset your mobile device according to your manufacturer's documentation and try again."

There is a link that says "Settinngs" and a button that says "Dismiss".

I've tried soft-resetting the device and also going into the connection manager and re-selecting AT&T as my provider and letting the phone do its thing. Nothing works.

I can tell you the following:

1. I CAN surf the Internet on the phone, but when I do, the 3G icons that I'm used to seeing in the title bar go away and are replaced by "H" icons. Web surfing works fine, though.

2. When I surf the Internet on the phone, instead of saying "Connecting to My ISP GPRS, Connecting to GPRS, 3G", it says "Connecting to MediaNet, Connecting to GPRS, 3G". The messaging application always says the first one, though.

3. It seemed to work fine last night and this morning when I was at home with the device connected to my home computer. I guess maybe the phone downloads through my computer's network connection?

Any help you can give me would be most appreciated.

I was originally using Austinsync's Very Clean rom. All of my apps were working flawlessly. I flashed this rom (it's a very nice rom) and unfortunately, I can't get Slingplayer Mobile to connect to my slingbox with this rom. I reflashed Austinsync's Very Clean and everything is running fine again. Any ideas?

Hmm -- so far working fine on my Tilt ... and calls are coming through just fine. I will keep an eye out, however, to see if I have your issues.

Easy fix, had the same problem. under messaging proggy go to tools>options>your account press next until you get to your server settings eg. smtp click advanced settings> network conection select MEdia net. click done. Problem solved:D

because if you charge your battery a lo,t when it's not almost empty, in the long run, your battery life will become short. so it's better not to charge your battery when it is 90% charged!!

This is just not true with lithium-ion battery. It is actually better to top off their charge than making them go completely flat then charge them again

I have seen the freezing in the programs menu, but typically I found I had left a dozen apps open by mistake. So at this point my issue could have been user error.

By the way, SlingPlayer Mobile, which works with other ROMs gives out a connection error.

I'm experiencing the same problem too. I try not to scroll too fast while in the programs folder. Else it is a very fast and stable rom. Dutty, two thumbs up to you.. :)

Great ROM and first time post. I've flashed to this ROM and the previous before dutty lost his laptop and I could not get GPS to function. Is anyone else experiencing problems with GPS? I've tried telnav, google and live search and all apps can not acquire a satellite signal. I ran the QuickGPS application and downloaded the latest sat data.:confused:
I reflashed my Tilt and changed my ISP connection to wap.cingular and I was able to get GPS via Telnav and Google Maps. I was also having problems with Sirius but that problem seemed to have disappeared and I'm loving my tunes once again. This is a great ROM.

Have you been able to resolve this issue yet? I made some adjustments in Advance Configuration and it seems to be a little better. But still having lags overall at times and 3-5 second freezes. Also having issues sending MMS messages.

Did the phone tells you that those message got sent?
It sounds more like a network issue than something in your phone...

Yes, they showed as sent. And when they didnt show as sent, i sent them again till i got the confirmation, but they still didnt reach the recepient.

I looked and noone seemed to mention this yet but there seems to be a problem with the screenrotation shortcut in the htc home plugin (under the programs tab)...when switching to landscape mode it switches but puts the damn thing upside down...just giving a heads up.

1 - Bluetooth wouldn't turn on yesterday. No matter what I did, it would just act like it was turning on, then never turned on. I did have it sync'd with my car stereo (Pioneer CDBTB-100 / P6800DVD) and then yesterday, it stopped.

2 - clocknot.exe isn't running right???? I get a weird error with clocknot.exe involved whenever i try to snooze a particular calendar item... weird.

3 - The darned TOMTOM stuff gives me errors on boot, but i can get my normal TOMTOM 6 software to run after flahsing and it all works great.

I do like this ROM very much, thanks.

4th item I forgot: There's a weird blank shortcut in the programs section of the HTC Home screen... I'm guessing it was a calculator? Not quite sure.

Well, I'm going back to an earlier ROM...

Way to many issues with BT and BT headset.
Often, voice dialing wouldn't work over BT.
If I make a call on the phone, it won't transfer to the headset.. Have to press several times the button on the headset.

Also, how does HTC_Action_Screen work?
It states on the screen "Dial Phone number or select a task below" , but how can you dial a phone number while that screen is active?
Seems that it was designed for another HTC model and make no sense on the kaiser...

well, you probably don't want to charge your battery every time you connect the phone to the computer. because if you charge your battery a lo,t when it's not almost empty, in the long run, your battery life will become short. so it's better not to charge your battery when it is 90% charged!!
Actually, the opposite is true of lithium ion batteries. You want to avoid letting them get discharged all the way, and you also want to avoid heat, and fast rates of charge. Therefore, I try to always charge with usb, as that's slower. I only use the wall charger when I'm in need of a quick charge (as it seems to charge faster).

I have also noticed the freezing problem.. this is how to recreate it..(ATLEAST ON MY KAISER), run any program and then quit. Goto program and slide the scrollbar up and down many times(do it fast) it will get stuck and the only way to come out of it is the soft reset.

I have been keeping track of my battery usage. And it is miserable.
11/01/2007 - 7:16am battery is at 100% by 8:50pm battery is at 14%.
11/02/2007 - 9:06am battery is at 100% by 9:17pm battery is at 5%.
The only thing I have on is Bluetooth to connect with my Plantronics 510 headset. I have turned off beam, Wi-Fi, Microsoft direct Push, 3G and Data Connection. Although I am still somehow getting my emails.
Both days I had to hit reset twice due to screen freeze that every time led to eventual screen pixilation.
Does anyone know of issues with any of the software I have installed or what is causing the extreme battery drain? Any help will be greatly appreciated, as 12 hour standby time is simply unacceptable.
I am going to turn everything off and monitor battery drain today (11/03/2007).

Hi mate I'm not suffering from battery drain but kaiser battery is not that great i have to charge my kaiser every 14-16 hours of use even with the original rom. You should hard reses and install a program at a time and see which one of the 3rd apps is the culprit if any.

fast, reliable. no bluetooth issue, voice dialing works great..

just noticed something. first off great work man! only issue i have seen is once i flashed this rom. i can no longer get connection to my wifi at home. anyway seeing this? worked fine with the HTC shipped rom. but nothing now.

OK I found the problem so far. It looks like it may be something with the bluetooth. What could be wrong with my bluetooth that is causing such a battery drain?:confused: On every blutooth phone I've owned, turning blutooth on has impacted battery life tremendously. Because the Kaiser has pretty bad battery life to begin with, the bluetooth just makes the problem that more pronounced. With my Blackjack, I would typically get 50% more life when i turned bluetooth off. You wouldn't notice this on most non-3G because they typically last for days either way because the radios in those phones use expenentiallly less power.

I bought a car charger, and by USB at work. It's not ideal, but it keeps mybKaiser going.
