Ok, I really love my mogul. Had it for about a month now, everything runs great except if I see that f***ng blinking light one more time, I might actually lose my mind. My friends think I'm crazy for letting it bother me, but I ask how can it NOT bother you? Anyway, I've tried all of the below things and had mixed results. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.
LED killer 2.0. This seemed to work ok for awhile. It runs too inconsistently for me though. Some days it's good for most of the day, some times when my phone comes out of sleep the phone taunts me with its green light.
LED 1, me 0
LED killer 3.0. This did really well actually. 2 big problems though. One is that is seemed to suck the ever-loving life out of my battery. Two is that I still get the green light of death when I get e-mails, txt messages, vm's,...etc. I know some people want to retain that functionality but not me. I even went into the notification section on the phone and UN-checked the box for blinking light notification for the above mentioned events. I guess that box doesn't do anything.
LED 2, me 0
PPC 6800 hacks (triangle powers software package). Oh my god, the light is off! This is amazing! All my dreams have finally been realized, life is beautiful....oh wait, how come my phone didn't vibrate when my buddy just called me? WTF? How is vibrate mode tied to the F-in blinking LED??? As my phone stays in vibrate mode pretty much all day long, this was a quick un-install and back to the forums....
LED 3, me 0
Hermled. I just found this one today. The only issue seemed to be that you had to select "OK" on a prompt when the phone was reset (soft). I can live with that. Too bad when I got my first new e-mail, that apparently let the LED overpower this oh so weak application and it's blinking its little heart out right now.
LED 4, me 0 and questioning my technical ability.
I also tried to sharpie over the LED itself but you can still see it flash. Also, the sharpie marker wore off.
Sorry for the long post, but as mentioned above, I will be forever grateful to anyone that can help me defeat the evil blinking green monster. I'm seriously about ready to take the phone apart and smash the LED to pieces. Although, I bet it would still after I did that as it appears to be indestructible :)

Yeah, it's what I'm using right now. Do you have crappy battery life with it though? My battery life is pretty bad with it on. Also, it doesn't kill the e-mail, txt notifications. I'm looking for complete destruction of the LED.
Thanks for your reply though.

nope don't have battery drain with it. Installed to device and no problems. Do you have under sounds and notifications, the check boxes for email, text etc flash light unchecked? That solved that problem for me.

Ever thought about taking an exacto to it?
Just a thought... :)
All this talk about the annoying blinking LED is actually making me annoyed with my blinking LED...I wasn't bother by it before, but I am now...dammit!

Really?? I have that un-checked. In fact, there's no event that has "flash light" checked. I had the same behavior with the old rom as well as the new one. I was hoping it was a bug that they would've fixed.

Sorry Crashless! I didn't mean to bring others down with me :)
I'm about to take an exacto to it! I just don't want to mangle my brand new phone.

There's a registry hack that turns the LED off for everything but charge status but you lose vibration. It was worth it to me, blinking lights drive me batshit and I am also not the type to mutilate a $550 phone with sharpies and knives. Do a search on the forums for Alled mgr I believe. If nothing else: Registry, LED. You'll find it.

I also removed all LED Killer iterations and went with the reg tweak. Sanity restored :)
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\AllLEDMgr
Change Index from 1 to 0

lobo did you quit the reg editor before doing a soft reset? Registry editing is weird in that you have to quit the application for the effect to take place or you have to wait a period of time, it's just easier to quit the application.

led killer 3.1 worked for me, and i was having many of the same problems you were. stupid led light blinking all the time was driving me batty. i couldn't deal with it. it reminded me of homer's alarm that went off every 10seconds, unless something was wrong...retarded. :)

I did the registry edit:
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\AllLEDMgr
Change Index from 1 to 0
and it worked fine on my Sprint Mogul 6800.
Could you have another program that is installed or
running that has notification alerts that are preventing
this from working...? (Wow that was a long sentence.)

I would imagine that a well applied drop of jet black nail polish would subdue the led. It's not fancy and not a registry hack but since nail polish is thick, it will likely not shine through.
Just a suggestion...

Applying nail polish would also render all other notification LEDs (missed call, new messages, etc) useless. LED Killer only kills the green flashing LED, and all other LED notifications will still work as usual.

Ah. I see. So LED Killer can specifically target certain notification flashes or just the flashing green? I was suggesting this as an alternative for the guy whom was thinking about taking a xacto knife to his LED...

LED Killer 3.1 can only target the green flashing service LED. If you wanted to modify the mortscripting, you could make it kill the orange flashing notification LEDs too, but that's about it.

I belive this program is causing the following error message after a Sprite backup: "Morscript cannot be opened"
I've tried to uninstall the program it but I suspect therei s something in the registry that needs to be removed.
Can someone tell me what I need to remove? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
