3.. they dont have tonns of unuseful apps .. only MS style
4. default mms are buggy (i removed this... use alternate programs )

For the 2nd splash screen you have to change the welcomehead.192.png in windows dir.

surprisingly, at the moment this is the best vanilla rom with the newest ce rom build (5.2.1933) for universal. as in the older 5.2.1921 it's fast and stable out-of-the-box.

unfortunately, this may not be the rom for regular users as the available fix and patches are not applied yet. to mention a few, the wifi fix, midi as ringtone fix, button 5 fix, etc. you also need to install mms and voip if services in your site is available.

with the fixes above installed it's "rock solid" without sacrificing speed.

I have not yet seen a patch that would correctly earned with my equipment ... although at 15341 everything worked well ... all patches work selectively .. whom it lucky whom it is not..

i'm not complaining, just trying to help out by pointing the missing patches to this good vanilla rom.

also, with all due respect midi files are a lot smaller than mp3's. good for our universal with limited storage. it's not about technology but more of convenience! :D

attaching here the fixes & patches to wifi & midi - compliments of mamiware & NNCuong. haven't solved the button 5 problem yet. button assignments are messed up after trying several patches.

can you please try to look again on the flash disk problem? @anonymous & NNCuong rom's are working well with it! v1.1 would be a very popular rom for g3 users if you can do that!

First of all thank you for turning me on to Resco Explorer for coping files to the windows directory, which the regular Explorer couldn't do. ! :)

I would love to try your ROM from the positive comments it has received. And, also from your comments in most of the threads you seems to be an advanced ROM builder.

Your ROM is as vanilla as it can be and it has 34 MB Main Storage. So I don't understand that how come N. N. Coung ROM for 3G devices has the following:

Main Storage: 40 MB
Flash Disk: 22 MB
ExtROM: 10 MB

No offense intended. The curiosity is for two reasons:

1. To learn from the masters.

2. I have 2 Universal as you can tell from my signature and would like to have different ROMs on each one.

Flash Disk: 22 MB produced from a place which is not involved by operating system .. size of our ROM is 64 mb does not mean that all values are employed ..typically OS took a 35-40 mb...
the size of uni image are 64 mb ... which means that 64 - OS Height.=size of flash disk..
but due to the fact that I used a small degree image compressin. OS became weigh 54 megabytes .. of that amount of flashdisk would be 10-9 mb ... that very little ... I do not believe that because 10 megabytes need to organize debates

Yeah i guess, If you change this ROM to have the English Hard Keyboard by default and a WM6.0 Splash screen, i'm using this on my JASJAR till WM7.0 comes out :)

I'm saying this because every time i do a hard-reboot, this ROM reverts back to the WoW splash screen and russian Keyboard, which can be a bit of a tease!

Any chance of us seeing these updates any time soon?

the fewer parts in the mechanism .. the less chance that it fails .. old but not lost its relevance phrase ....

today bakers forgot how to do OS in microsoft likeness .. without excessive and sometimes curves applications from HTC .. which is not always stable .. without mms after installation which. not possible creation email account .. without the built-voip .. skype to 100 times better and more stable and without problems ... we all forgot that..

Just flushed this rom. At firs looked great and fast (Thank you Mo3ulla, Bol'shoe spasibo), no major issues, but then... No A2DP is a big issue for me, so I installed broadcom BT and free ram went from 27 to 22 MB. Also I could not get MS VoiceCommand to start by pressing the button on my BT Head set. Very disappointed but have to go back to Beasty & Laurentius vanilla. I used it before and both A2DP and voice command worked great. Y?:confused:

Thanks for explaining the concept in such details. I guess one learns something new every day! :)

I can understand that each ROM builder has to make certain choices and certain compromises at each and every step.

I don't like to install any program on the storage cards as sometimes the storage cards have problems that the Universal device don't recognize them. You know what I mean, the insert and re-insert problem for the device to recognize.

The first thing I have to install is Arabizer, which takes up about 10 MB of the previous storage in the Universal itself.

Hi Mo3ulla. I really like your ROM. It is fastest that I've used so far and stable enough. BUT... It isn't as clean as it could or should a Vanilla ROM be. For example there is a lot of stuf that may be used by some and not used by others. All in all most of it it's used very rearly anyway. 1 - For example how many use Mobile Office? I don't think too many. And even if it is used on some ocasions it isn't good enough for some serious work in excel, even stuff like complex functions(not talking about VB or Macros, just functions) will not show right. Or heavily formated MSWorld documents would be displayed corrupted. Just MSOffice viewers would be suficient for this purpose then. 2 - Calculator in my opinion unecessary as there are better alternatives that can be installed later by User if required. 3 - Games can be removed as it is totally unnecessary for most of us. And they get quite boring after a while considering that they are there for last few good years. Please remove as they are quite heavy. 4 - Windows Update in my oppinion is a total waste of space as I havent been able to use it once to have anything updated. 5 - Internet Explorer is also questionable as for me I use Opera others maybe too.
So I would like to thank you for your hard work so far and also ask if it is possible to reduce the amount of included APPs even more to make this ROM as clear as posibble for a barebone operation.

people simply need roms .. fast and without problems ... from beta testers no curfew .. but when it comes to test or highly volatile things .. or entirely unstable things most testers run away as chickens (precisely because of this I have only 2 testers)

the interesting thing about this situation is not that the ROM has been unstable for testing .. but in that.. that is none .. do not even ask about the risks .. but they were not in fact. all readers of this topic just crap their pants. holding in mind eternal idea of "how not what happened"

... this is the first thing I do after every Hard Reset :)

The problem is only with web browsers:
IE - when choosing google the page is in russian; other pages are ok;
Opera - menu is in russian and google page as well.

I know russian a little bit, but I'd prefer to have english in my Uni :)
