By request, here's a build that I put together, with options for either VC or VSD.

They're based on the OS 5.2.1622 Build 18128.0.4.4, and includes the following:

ROM 3.62
GSM (Radio) 1.54
HTC Splash Screens
Extended Rom

The software/settings included is as follows:

A2DPFix *
Adobe Flash Lite *
ATIFix *
Esmertec Jbed 1.2.070612 *
HTC Audio Manager 1.2.725711 *
HTC Task Manager 2.0.30740 *
Start Clean *
Windows Live 10.6.33.0600 *
ArcSoft MMS 4.2.8.1
Camera 4.0.build 28276
Lite Calc
3G Dialpad
10 Button Comm Manager
HTC Album
Flashlight
Notepad
Network Wizard
PHM Registry Editor
PIM Backup 2.5
Total Commander
Internet Sharing
Windows Media Player

I've removed excess dsm files, compressed a few exe's and dll's, and overall kept it clean and tidy. I didn't make the a "My Setup" build, rather a somewhat lite version for others to build off of. There's no games, extra ringtones, MMS images, etc.

You'll need to install your own carrier MMS/WAP configuration.

* = removable via Settings/System/Remove Programs

Notes / Thoughts / Thinking Out Loud:

It is mapped for TyTn keyboard mapping. To set it to 8525, set the following (there may be a cab floating around to do this): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\Qwerty] "Layout"=dword:00040409

Yes, I like Halo 3...

Yes, this has everything included. Radio/Extended ROM/Splash Screens/OS. Feel free to dump the build and take what you will. Note though that I didn't keep the .rgu files after the dump, FYI.

The Program memory bounces around between 25 and 30, depending on what I'm doing. My screen shot app always takes a big chunk when being used.

I remove sddaemon.lnk, poutlook.lnk, and launcher.lnk from the /Windows/Startup directory after every build. I don't need them for my configuration and it helps conserve memory/cpu time.

Free Storage after flash was around 55 mb.

This could be considered a beta, but considering how many users have used the Pandora kitchen (which this is based on), I expect it to do fairly well.

I've done a lot of work to make this a good functioning setup. For a lot of users it may be so as well. If it isn't exactly what you want, feel free to get cabs (or a kitchen) and customize one just the way you want. I can't make a version for everyone - so please don't flame me and fill up the thread with requests. :)

The only difference between the two downloads I posted is in the extended rom - one has voice speed dialer, and the other has voice command.

The base is exactly the same, as is the rest of the extended rom.

Is this what you were asking?

Hi Matt

This will be my perfect rom if i could add the OEM games + Monopoly and Pac Man from your kitchen. Is this possible and if so could you be so kind as to point me in the right direction as to how I could do it? I decompiled your rom but was worried that I might mess up your config if I went ahead and tried anything. Forgive me if this is a simple job and I'm asking in the wrong place. I am very happy with the rom as is - I just miss those games.:)

That is correct. I used the cab from 10/07 that has all the bug fixes. I don't use it, but that was what I read about it.

In many cases you can grab the files from a package, place them in the windows directory, and update the registry with the .rgu info.

I have cabs for the two non-OEM applications I can post links to this evening. As for the OEM games, because they have decompiled dll's, it will take a bit more to add them after the fact.

I'vd ran this ROM on my Hermes for about 15 hours and I just want to say this ROM is pretty good.
I just have one question to this ROM, why the office mobile is removed. I had to search for office mobile and install it after I flashed this ROM...

There's a bunch of apps that I know are available in cab form, so by putting it in the base ROM users who don't use/want it are stuck with it - and can't remove it.

It's hard to decide what makes it in, and what gets cut out. I typically use impressions I've gotten from my and other threads on the majority desire for included / optinal packages.

Seasky3246,

I believe Matt made the ROM, so that everyone can customize it to their liking. I do agree with you, the ROM is pretty good, I have been running it for a few days.

Matt,

Quick question. I took the ROM apart, and I noticed that in the default.hv, there where some entries for some files that you had taken out.

My question, is if those registry entries are still in the reg. how would it affect performance? Would deleting those entries, help any, or I shouldn't even bother? Also, in the initflashfiles.dat there are entries of files that don't exist.

Matt- Thank you for a non-bloated functional ROM. I use Documents to Go, so have no need for Office Mobile. Yours is the first ROM I've tried in a while that didn't mysteriously lose Storage memory (I've got 27.40MB now, even with Good running). Program is 14.4MB; not too shabby! Also, your ROM does not seem to suck the life out of the battery as fast as Schap's and vp3G when running on 3G.

So I think I will try it for a while, since it seems solid.

Thanks for a nice ROM.

There was a couple I put in, then removed as I balanced the installed vs the extended rom. Their effect on the initflashfiles and the reg hive is so miniscule, I wouldn't bother. If it were an application like MMS, Camera, etc, I'd want to weed it out, but because these were only a few lines, no worries.

PHM Tray Launch

Hi Venelar

Sorry to Matt for posting about this subject in his post:)

Thanks for your post RE traylauncher. Can I ask a question-how do you get the actual icons to display? When I configure the launcher all I get is a folder icon in the tray.

Hi,pablo11,
When you I configure the launcher, make sure they are ended with .exe, that is the name of the shortcuts should be the full name of the program

The only thing I'm working on is a super clean and stripped base with the big storage and no extended rom, lots of compression (where possible of course) and no extra crap (htm's, png's, dsm's, etc). Might be ready in the next few days, depending on my new schedule.
