Any way we can get a name or a photo of the reciept or something that we could take to corp store to prove it? I went to a corp store yesterday, and they refused to go below $399 even though I have a premier account.

Almost exact same deal I got. My Premiere discount is 60% on equipment's retail price. I got it for $240 + tax, no contract or extension, just out the door.

has anyone realized that best buy has been doing this for the longest?
since the tilt came out.:D
$250 a 2 year contract (369 one year..something like that) no rebate forms,pda plan required....what so ever.:D
some guys at ny.. times square tried to tell me that the att tilt simply wouldn't work without a pda plan therefore i must or i needed to add it to the two year plan/contract. As far as i know they dont advertise it though, but i couldnt even find it through their website.....:o -

Can someone explain what the big deal is with getting the phone for $250 with no contract? What good does that do? So you can use the phone on a no commitment, either prepaid or pay-as-you go plan? If you go that route you are going to pay considerably more than if you signed up for a 2 year contract, so it doesn't really make sense financially.

I can get the premier discount through my university, but why when newegg has it for $150 with a 2 year contract, free shipping, no tax?? That's exactly what I did.

The only advantage I can see for buying it through premier is if you are trying to upgrade your phone in the middle of your contract. Other than that, newegg still has the best deal. Period. If I am misunderstanding something please explain.

Because a lot of people already are in the middle of a 2 year contract, and don't want to wait 14 months until they can get the Kaiser for less than the cost of a used car.

Sure can: here

Also, for those who don't want to wait for newegg to get them in stock (cuz they keep running out), amazon has it for $200 (I think) w/ 2 year contract.

thx for the link, but yeah that deal wouldnt benefit me in the long run becuz i have a GF data plan(19.99=unlmt internet 1500txt 50mms). Contract upgrades wouldve shifted me to a 44.99 plan! So I think i did good! :D

Certain businesses, universities, and other organizations have partnerships with AT&T that will give their employees or members "premier" accounts with AT&T.

To see if you are eligible go to:

https://www.wireless.att.com/business/authenticate/

and enter your work/school/govt email.

Okay, so I am a college graduate, and if I put my college ID/ email into that site, it says I am a premier customer, but I am a Go Phone user, and not on a contract. i talked to the rep, and they said only people with a contract are eligible for a discount, and if a friend does get the phone for you, his/ her contract will get extended for 2 years..and someone tell me how to go about this?

It is a great deal for anyone that already has at&t and doesn't qualify to extend their contract or simply doesn't want to nor does he/she want to get an aditional line. Add to that the fact many have grandfathered data plans that they don't want to give up. This way all you have to do is buy the phone and drop in your existing sim card and your set.

Usually outright buying the equipment is very expensive and that's why this is a big deal.

I would contact AT&T corporate. The reps at the store are so inconsistent. Some don't even know what you mean when you talk about the premier account. With premier you shouldn't have to sign up for a new contract. That's the whole point of being "premier".

I don't know how some of you are getting the tilt for the price w/2 year agreement price. Unless the reps are shady and doing it incorrectly. They
are not allowed to sell phones for that price. They are rules they must
follow when discounting phones and doing it without a upgrade/agreement
would land them in hot water. The store purchases them for a lot more
then 250 so they would be losing money. The whole premier account
and discount of equipment is only when renewing a plan. Or they have
to do through bussiness sales. If this was true people would be going into
the store and reselling them on ebay and making profit.

He probably did get upgraded to a 2-year contract. I got my tilt through Premier, and paid $274 + tax, that's with the upgrade and contract. Now the kicker is if I get the $100 rebate that they have, which is pending right now.

I'm confused now. I have a line that is upgradeable which means I can get a Tilt for $300 after a $100 rebate and with a new 2 yr contract. I also have a premier a/c and it shows $300 as well after a $100 premier rebate. Premier don't seem to be offering any benefits and where's the extra $25 off some folks are getting? What gives? Special Premier benes I don't get ?

I thought the same thing too when I bought mine. They said it will be $299. But when they charged my card and I saw the receipt it ended up only being $274. This is also before the rebate. I already submitted my rebate and they're pending, so hopefully I'll get some money back from there as well.

My company doesnt offer it, but a coworker's school does, SO I logged onto the site to check out the prices.

It doesnt let me purchase the Tilt w/o a contract. To even add it to the cart I have to either click "New customer" "transfer my old number" or "existing AT&T customer".

Under the new customer heading, I cant check out unless I add a voice plan and sign a 2 year contract. SO how are people getting these phones even contract free from the premier site??

Do I need to have an existing AT&T account AND premier access? If I got a friend who had an AT&T account and logged them onto the premier site, will that affect the contract term length or upgrade availability of that user?

Im really interested in getting this phone, but I cant stand AT&T.

Also, does anyone know if I can just add the kaiser to a non primary family plan line and cancel it? Still getting the initial discount but not the rebates?

Okay, Im still trying to get a discounted phone from a friend with AT&T but can anyone please confirm that a 'pre-existing' AT&T customer with prermier access can purchase the phone w/o contract for the $399 discounted cost on the premier site??

As far as options go, I think I could get the phone for ~$425. You can get the phone online easily for ~$250 before rebates (thats just instant discount), and then cancel your service for +$175 fee. Net price of $425. Thats ~$125 saved over "retail" and you have no contract.

Not too bad, but Id still like to know if I can just get an existing AT&T customer to get it for me for 399 w/o affecting their contract.

EDIT: wont work for letstalk.com or newegg.com, they charge a $250 termination fee in addition to the carrier fee of $175 if you cancel within 6 months. :(

I'm not sure anyone cares, but I got two TILT's for $135 each. Here's how:

I've been with AT&T for a while ( I did the same thing when I got my 8525 last year, post the 8125 the year before, which I did the same way).

My contract is up, so I call up and tell them I want the 2 year price ($399), but am only willing to go with a one year contract. Furthermore, I usually get a $100 discount on top of that ($299)....they agree usually.

Then, I have a corporate discount of like 55% or 60% ....so, $135 for the Tilt.

Then, I say to them - I work on both coasts - can I have two? They say, sure.

So they send me two new TILTS with two SIMS (I guess the SIMS are useless...anyone?) And, voila. That's it.

CHeers.
