Prophet Touch IX

The first time I flashed Prophet Touch IX I had the mentioned issues with the extended ROM.
So I flashed it another time exactly the same with pdaviet_temp and since then I had no problems with disappearing programs.

So I would recommend to flash the prophet, do some softresets and try whether the apps in "programs/tools" will run or not before copying the personal data

I've found a solution to one bug but also another one (which is sadfully present in all WM6 ROMs)

Bug I: Not being able to turn on the phone after turning it off via Comm Manager

Solution: There seems to be a conflict between the Comm Manager and the Wireless Manager. I actually never noticed those are two different programs. Anyways, while turning on the phone via the Comm Manager sometimes doesn't work, it always works with the Wireless Manager. It can be found in the Connections menu or by tapping the signal strength icon in the upper bar. Maybe the Wireless Manager could be removed in later versions. (see capture003.jpg)

Bug II: I don't know if many people experience this because it only occurs under heavy roaming conditions. While I'm in the subway I experience lots of network changes between o2 and T-Mobile (in Germany o2 can also use the infrastructure of T-Mobile in some places). So my phone is constantly switching between those networks and, since T-Mobile offers EDGE and o2 doesn't, it also switches a lot between just GPRS and EDGE. After some time the internet connection (which is always connected) breaks down and then one of two things happens:

1. The phone tries to reconnect for a long time but fails, or
2. It establishes what I call a "ghost" connection, where the icon in the top bar indicates an established connection which doesn't exist (tapping the icon tells me I am not connected). capture002.jpg below illustrates what I mean.

Sometimes turning phone on and of helps, but often only a soft reset resolves the problem.

The bugs seem to be related; when I try to end and restart the phone while the connection problem occurs there's a good chance that turning it back on only works with Wireless Manager.

Did anyone else have this bug and is there a solution? The connection bug seems to occur under all WM6 and also with different radio ROMs (tried 19.21, 20.21 and 69.xx)

i've the same problems since today. after a softreset some of the programs didn't run with the same error of missing certificates. these programs are pcmbackup, reset.exe, group sms and so on. tomorrow morning i'll do a hardreset and will see if it works or i've to flash again.

Did you try to flash with WM5 Prophet_PV_temp or with WM6?
You should go to step one (WM5) and try it. If not success, put the phophet in bootloader and do it again with wm5.

If you are in the bootloader modus (3 colored display) try to start the downgrade (nanoscopic Step 1-i ever took this since it was released). On my pc also no connection is to see, but i can flash the rom.

If you lost your usb connection in AS, it´s the best way, to install it again.

How i can add a parameters to Camera Album for another "image folder". I have my photos on SD but camera album not recognize them. I try to change the default image storing folder on Camera from My Device\My Documents to SD\My Documents but camera album cant see the old photos...

Also I think is a good idea (For me Is:D :D ) next rom or even this to be as clean as can. Most of the programs cooked inside this rom are ok but it not need by everyone. Some less expert users use their prophet for 1 or 2 jobs. Mobile phone-Gps Navigation- caldera bla bla. A clean WM6 rom with links for the progs will help.

Clean rom , Only programs that need to cooked inside to work, No themes expect the basic.

Also The cube activate thing is bad. I try all activate methods and i dont think are good enough. I think a new way of activating either with a button or with a <-----> finger cross a little bit up from the down menu( New menu- Contacts).

Install latest version of activesync,
cut off all other usb-connections,
do not use a HUB, but go directly into your USB-Port,
restart your computer,
connect device and put it in bootloader-mode,
use PDAViet step 1,
watch out for G3 and G4 version,

I've upgraded my pda with the Touch IX (I don't know which release is exactly, it could be a version after beta 3, I guess) and I have run into several problems, which are the followings:
* some incoming calls are missed (it means, I dont't even noticed I've been called!) my friends told me, after a couple of hours they called me.
* as well as, sometimes I can receive sms and sometimes not. (Maybe a same problem) Anyway, I had experienced problems above in the previous (VIII) version.
* the favourite persons window shows up at the time I don't want it. Let's say, I want to connect to a hotspot and it's establish a connection, so I start the IE and it shows up. Why?

I have noticed the following bugs

1. after softreset
a) Email Settings are lost
b) Wlan passprass is lost
c) the music library is lost. Must be rescanned.

2. The notification indication is overwritten by the "NewMenu". So it is not possible to "dismiss" a calendar alarm.

3. The gestures to start the cube cannot be controlled. Sometimes the gestures are "somewhere" on the lower part of the screen. This results in starting the "cube" if you do not want to. I have switch off "cube"

4. Wireless Lan is disappearing in the wireless manager.

5. The "contact" button is starting the Windows 6 contact manager and not Pocket Cm. This only worked directly after installation.

6. The picture viewer has gestures to zoom pictures only "enabled" after you have opened the gesture help screen.

7. switching Wlan on is not working reliable. Power off and then on again may help.

I upgraded from Gulum VII which was a bid less buggy.
I would be great to learn if there are fixes available.

Instead of posting your cry for help, please read the numerous postings on this subject. It is written is almost every ROM-thread and in the WIKI!

Your problem is due to not making a PROPER hard reset after flashing. If you think you did, you didn't do it the right way. It is written down in the WIKI how to do this necesary, important last step.

I had once the same problem although i did a proper hardreset. I restored my PIM information via SKTools wich made something messed up with the contacts - after that, i did a hardreset again and restored PIM only by synchronizing with active sync. After that, everything works fine.

1. tflo after some times won't work propelt and starts only with a finger pressure on the bottom of the screen.so, how to re-set slide UP-DOWN to activate it?
2. htc album always show "no pictures were found".
3. after some times winrar, reset, regedit, etc (the prog in ext rom?) won't work. all the icon show the "default .exe windows icons". so i think some files are lost...WHY?
4. some cab won't install...i tried to install gullum activate cube to fix the problem "start tflo" and always show "unsuccessfull"...

the touch dual keyboard only has the Englich and Italian keybord layout build into the rom
all other suported language images can be found as cab files on http://gullum.4shared.com

Camera Album : to get the camera album to work you need to tap the picture once and the menu opens up press the i (gesture tips) and close it and camera album should work.

Have you been able to get your hands on the swedish language for the touch dual keyboard yet, gullum?
How is the Kaiser, I know its faster and have more memory, but how is it to use compared with the Prohpet?

has crystal v4 xt9 embedded? I am asking because I am using crystal v3 (I am very happy about it) and the only "wish" that I have is to have italian keyboard.. :-) but I am not sure that in v3 there is xt9..

I successfully managed to install the Touch IX ROM on my prophet.(Long live Gullum and his fellow developers)

However I have a rather dumb problem. I can see the touchflo settings and cube customizer. Even the HTC Album is working properly with all touchflo gestures. But I cant manage to get the cube to show. I managed to get it on once doing something, but cant manage to repeat this feat. I could not find any link to the cube and tried to swipe my finger across the screen in every possible direction but with no results.

Kindly let me know how do I get the cube on screen (so that I can flaunt it) :)

Sounds great. I will have to get a closer look at the Kaiser before I can decide if I will buy one. Still hoping that my work will provide me with one once they decide to start with push e-mail. (I am the only one using it at present ;-) )

You've got to move your finger from the middle of the bar at the bottom (somewhere where the lighter white fades to grey) to the lowest part of the screen

what do you mean with "action button"? The buttons you should press are the Camera button and the Communication Manager button (in short: the Camm an Comm) together and then push the little hole at the bottom with the stylus. A detailed instruction can be found in the WIKI.

I really enjoy a good cup of coffee, and decided to make a skin for Touch IX. I have NOT taken the time to optimize the file sizes, and the whole skin is not mine, but a product of the fine people here at this forum. I have just put it together and modified it. It will change the dialpad, clock, Audiomanager, and PocketCM. I hope it will be usefull to someone. To install, follow the read me instructions. If this is of interest, please let me know, as I may do a couple more versions based on other popular drugs. Caffine is good, Gullum's Prophet Touch IX is better! :D

After updated to v9, ActiveSync through Bluetooth can't work.
When add a BT connection to phone, just detect "serial port" only.
v8 can detect "ActiveSync".

Hey Gullum,

did you ever think about including Quick Menu in your rom because I think it's a very usefull Programm.
You have a much more better Start menu, a great Task Manager, it includes a Hibernate function and softreset function.
For those who don't know the programm, just try it!


another question: will you be able to fix that bug in Htc Photo Album that we have to open the info window first before we can use gestures? That would be very great and make the rom almost perfect :)

G3 flashed with and soft reset, the extn rom were still there,
G4 flashed with and soft reset, the extn rom missing

G3 = Qtek S200
G4 = Imate Jamin

@Gullum, I think I encounter a problem, after activating the Task manager (Tasks list), it makes a little arrow appear in the right side of clock, then I open the camera, and go to camera setting, you know what? I can never click the Ok button right beside the little arrow, I mean whenever I click on the Ok button, it come up like I click on the wireless connection, so I can never set up the camera setting if I use the Tasks list. If I stop using the Tasks list, everything works just fine :).
Could you pls have a fix on that in next version?

Is anyone else experincing slow performance using Prophet Touch IX? Even on a fresh re-start, response is very slow ie changing from different app like contacts or even just the notification on the home screen. I did not install any other app besides the ones that already came with the rom.

So I just curious if this is a common thing or maybe there is something wrong with my unit.

Storage free is like 39.92mb while program is 22.78mb under my settings>memory.

I can also confirm the following problems.

1. Yesterday while opening the Reversi, the OS hanged. I had to soft rest the device. After that some of programs were missing or corrupted. E.g. PIM Backup, Soft Reset, Clear RAM, WinRAR, etc...

2. I also noted that the battery drain wasn't dropping below 120mA/h... Usually at lighted screen (device on) and all communications except GSM switched to off, the device consumes near 60-70mA/h. At stand by mode (screen dark) it consumes around and below 10mA/h. After that hanging of the OS and icon missing, I noted a 120 and above drain during stand by and on modes.


I moved back to VIII as I haven't noticed any problems with it since day one of it's release :)

PS: 10x for your wonderful job gullum. The IX edition looks really great, and I'm sure all those problems will be cleared in X.

No there isn't. This is a WM6 problem, not related to a specific (cooked) ROM. If you want to know more about this issue, use the search-function, there is a lot written about it througout the forum.

I can also confirm the following problems.

1. Yesterday while opening the Reversi, the OS hanged. I had to soft rest the device. After that some of programs were missing or corrupted. E.g. PIM Backup, Soft Reset, Clear RAM, WinRAR, etc...

2. I also noted that the battery drain wasn't dropping below 120mA/h... Usually at lighted screen (device on) and all communications except GSM switched to off, the device consumes near 60-70mA/h. At stand by mode (screen dark) it consumes around and below 10mA/h. After that hanging of the OS and icon missing, I noted a 120 and above drain during stand by and on modes.


I moved back to VIII as I haven't noticed any problems with it since day one of it's release :)

PS: 10x for your wonderful job gullum. The IX edition looks really great, and I'm sure all those problems will be cleared in X.

Just flashed to this ROM yesterday. So far so good. I'm also a first time Microsoft mobile OS user. Only use the original WM5 ROM for like 2 days then decided to flash after reading here.
So far so good. I missed the Transciber (or something like that) input method though. I find that's the fastest way to input. But the new Touch Keypad input method comes in handy too.
Starting, I have problem figure out how to use those Cube thingy and last night after reading Touch user manual, finally know how to do that.
Overall a very stable and problemless ROM.

Heard that Gullum is coming out with X version. Please include the Transciber input method.

I had a same problem this morning. Now works. Please follow this steps..
- First upload AKU 2.2 rom
- When it is completed, hard reset your device
- Wait on first screen and do not touch
- Upload Touch-IX Rom

I had a same problem this morning. Now works. Please follow this steps..
- First upload AKU 2.2 rom
- When it is completed, hard reset your device
- Wait on first screen and do not touch
- Upload Touch-IX Rom

Oh. Finally I found something 'not quite right'. :D

The original battery indicator is in RED color with an esclamation mark but the other battery status showing like 40%. I don't know which 1 to trust :o

My instinct is telling me to trust be one showing 40% though :p

well i agree to the asking part... i mean i think that some cabs are a welcome addition to roms... but for the love of god leave MSN LIVE and such bigg stuff OUT... there are thousands of updates to come to get live messenger a lot more secure... so my opinion all the tools that change settings on rom/registry and make USE of the touch easier must be preinstalled...

and if possible make a selection box at the rom upgrade tool weither to install certain CABs in the ext rom... or not...

well nearly all new wizzard roms have Vanilla, Professional and Touch versions... isn't this method an idea gullum?

for those who like your rom (and what is not to like about it...) BUT don't want the wasted processor/diskspace/memmory usage of touchflo and cube and stuff... or the other installed cabs... i i would go for the full touch version with all the extra's installed.. but like digifan maybe people like a "naked" prophet touch... 2. htc album always show "no pictures were found".
3. after some times winrar, reset, regedit, etc (the prog in ext rom?) won't work. all the icon show the "default .exe windows icons". so i think some files are lost...WHY?
4. some cab won't install...i tried to install gullum activate cube to fix the problem "start tflo" and always show "unsuccessfull"...

I bet some of you know what ADD means (OR ADHD?)
ADD is a mild brain dysfunction, like ADHD, but then without the hyperactivity.
In my case it means i'm a perfectly normal guy, only my day needs to be scheduled perfectly... else i forget about 80% of stuff that i actually should have done...:confused:

SO, having a bar shaped device in your pocket that has music in it, your telephone in it, your school files on the SD card, your complete schedule, your roster, a camera, and al your contacts. it makes life for a man or woman with ADD way easier...

(i personally think a young someone with ADHD will break the Organiser... but if mature enough it would be heaven for someone with ADHD aswell)

So don't even go near the "it's only a phone" part...

for me it's the todo list with my agenda attached, my phone glued on it, and my Ipod stapled to the back...

and that makes like 20000 papers, my agenda, my schedule and my organiser, my ipod and my phone LESS to put in my pocket... and since it's my alarm to wake up, I CAN't forget it...

I'm using this rom on first step, and using for 3 days and ext.rom contiunes working... but this rom have som 'bugs', pda when i'm playing one game crashs, and when i'm lestining music crash too... when i open the albun of pictures they apears like 'no pictures here'.... and my pda turns off when battary is on 40% (i think is necessary change an value for that right?)... and i think is everything!

Been using IX for 2-3 days. So far so good.

But TouchFlo disabled since yesterday as I don't use them. I don't know what is the real purpose.

The other thing that I don't quite understand the purpose too. The PocketCM thingy. Whenever new message comes in, this Contact with SMS appeared. I don't really know how to use it, frankly :p I can't reply directly from there can't I? And if I do re-send, the funny keyboard appeared. I click OK to close and go back to the normal message, reply from there and the normal Touch Keypad T9 will become funny. I must admit that I didn't read through the whole Touch manual on how to 'operate' this function though.

I started to flash your touch VII, work greats for awhile, yet after i put shortcut store on my batterystatus trayLaunch bar, the machine hang on the VII bootscreen when soft-reset, i am lucky enough to make it work after waiting like for 3 hours, however, i forget to put away the shortcut and do a soft-reset (i do that becoz i need to switch SIM alot). And it never came back to me and hang in that VII boot-screen.

Thus, it makes me into flashing your new Touch IX, it took me 3 times to make a successful flash, maybe i am not a flash-a-olic. Then, I happily customize it b4 i sleep yesterday. But then this morning I found out that the icon of some app, namely pocket RAR, Registry Editor, Reset, changed to that generic window thingy and when i click on it, it said
"The file cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its componets cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
Most of the app under the "Tools" folder gives me that msg when clicked.

I wonder if it is becoz i did a "closeALL" before i sleep last night, i dunno what exactly make that happen.

Moreover, I cannot customize the activate of the cube, the pull down menu is missing.

I hope all the bugs will be fixed on Touch X, for the time being i might have to use Mysterious + FLO

Did you use the fantasticmobiz rom for step 1? Maybe that causes this.
I exeperienced the same problems with FM as step 1. The reason (is suspect) is that with FM the extended_rom is used almost completely and there is not enough room left for the apps installed in extrom with step 2 (Touch IX, I'm still happy with beta 1). The extrom behaves then erratic, because it can't be written under WM6 (step 2) and the fat (of extrom) gets corrupted.
Reflashing with pdaviet WM5 roma as step 1 solved my problems.

no i didnt use PV_Temp, coz somehow both G3 and G4 just don't work on my prophet, G3 always stuck at 85%.

i use the very original NVID rom, so that too many ext_rom explanation can't apply here, but thx for your reply.

I am so pissed, coz i wanna try EVO8.1, but it only accept PV_Temp as step 1.

and i wanna try Mysterious , but somehow the download file is always corrupted !!

just re-install and run Touch IX for like 4 hours,

i also installed :

1. PDAMobiz_ChiJap_Enable.cab and ChinaFEP_No5en.cab suggested by iiiox as I will use chinese.

2. pTravelAlarm , a more featured alarm than the build-in one, you can use mp3 or wav as the sound and i love it !!

3. stopTime, a very good stop watch and lap watch and more

4. PocketGenie, nice database/dictionary and you can create your own database, i have all the public transport of HongKong's mgm with me

5. Pocket e-sword, a very good ppc bible program for free !!

6. MyPrefixDial, i love the calling card features in my old T610, and i cant see any of that in the origin prophet, as i need to dial long distance for work, and i hate to remember the long series of number for cheaper Long D call, thus this program save my life, it allow you to store differ prefix and suffix profile and add to you contact's number when needed. and it is a freeware developed by a hong kong guy

7. IM+, a super nice instant messaging program, as I use too many IM protocols, just MSN cant satisfy me, with IM+, i can connect to yahoo IM, AIM, ICQ, MSN, Google talk, IRC all at the same time, it is like the PPC version of miranda-im.

8. Ringo (thinking if i should install this), as I want to customize the message received sound, i wanna install ringo, however, seems i have install too many thing already. Should install it or is there any other way to use MP3 as receive message sound ?

and one more question, is there any program or way to turn the current state of my prophet into a ROM, so that i can flash it without going thru all the installation if my prophet crash in the future ? or is there a think like Ghost for PPC so that i could recover easily ?

mine ALWAYS flip out first 3 minutes... going straight to 85% and then it "hangs" and then after 7 minutes it rockets to 100% and hangs for 1 minute and then my prophet is flashed... i have G4

its me again, and i keep updating the condition of my Touch IX, some icon go wild again and become that generic "blue frame, while background" icon, when pressing on them, they do nth!, and some icon which is not generic shows me the same error window i got b4.

did a soft reset and problem still there.

will there be an chance that i uninstall PocketCM to make this happen ? as I wanna update to PocketCM 1.6 to fix some problem i got with the current 1.5, like i cannot type a SMS in PocketCM, as SIP didnt show!

Have you tried G4 ROM?
Even that there are many people here that say that .0000 is G3, I think not. I have a G4 SPL ending in .0000 and always flashed G4 ROM's.
Never had any problem flashing.

u have to use the 20 key - Keyboard. The xt9 works there. So it does on mine.
it is not working with the regular keyboard. Look at the pictures from Gullum at the first post of this thread.

Use the PDAVIET instead of the other roms for first step, than it will work. Or did u see an intallation screen of the extended rom after the hard reset ? I have a G4 as well and everything works perfect.

Camera Album : to get the camera album to work you need to tap the picture once and the menu opens up press the i (gesture tips) and close it and camera album should work.

Is there a way to change the activation of the cube ie change the trigger from pressing at bottom middle of the screen to something else. I dont want to disable the cube, just change its activation method.

Because as much as I love the cube, it pops up every time I change the input type or use my finger/stylus to use the left or right softkey action.

u activate then sliding from top to bottom, deactivate from bottom up.

Hi,

I need some help to setup HTC Home.
I installed IX on my Prophet, but I want to disable the first line in HTC Home page (above the time) where there is the name of the provider and the date, and the line just below the time, where there are the 3 tabs MMS/SMS/Calls.
Because it takes lot of place on the screen, if I want to use SPB Diary.

I don't know if it's clear (I'm not english).

Is it possible ?

My rom was "prophet touch edition" by cloudyfa, and I install this rom overwriting the old one. When i made a hard reset after the installation the pda stuck at the beginning. And i can't established connection with computer now because the pda won't start.
Any solution for this?

You must be forget to HARDSPL..

Please READ how to Upgrade, if you don't want your Device Dead.

Now.. Download PDA Viet Temp.

Go to Bootloader Mode.

Run PDA Viet after you can go to Bootloader.

Bootloader mode and just run PDA Viet.

If you are on Bootloader mode, you can actually run PDA Viet.

Active Sync is just to help you to go to Bootloader Mode.

So, let's try again.

It would be nice, if you could write in english, bc this is an international forum and anybody should be able to understand you :)
I would advice you to reflash a wm5, after that you can a) reflash prophet touch IX (stay close to the update guide) or flash hardspl and choose another, more recent rom like prophet touch X or coffie or shadow or one of the other wonderful roms around here!

Well, pretty understandable ;) Ok, try this: Put your device into bootloader-mode (press camera button and keep pressed while you reset via stick in the hole), after that start wm5 RUU. if that worked, go on as described...

The PPC into the boat load he mode set (, keep further soft RESETS, COMM key hold COMM key to a three-colored screen appear), the PPC with the PC connect however not by a stroke!!! Now unknown USB equipment should be announced to Windows! Now one can again flashen an update, also without ActiveSync support! That is also the method of the update often commodity! after the AS Sync the PPC is shifted by software into the Bootloader, we helps only manually! ;)

I think you make things to complicated, you should enable WIFI in Commanager and you will see a little antennasymbol in topbar. When picking up a network signal, it will ask you to connect and make all the required setting by itself.

did wifi turn on?....if not..you can try pressing power button off then on again..if still doesnt work i suggest reflashing...not hardreset...

Nope there is no readme in the package. Just because there is an exellent guide published on the forum, with is the opening statement of the first post.... I cannot picture how you could have missed it:

For your information (to avoid confusion) this ROM should be flashed the traditional way.

This is a general bug in WM6, you can't use a password. To get your phone back, make a hard reset and configure it again. This time, leave out the password.

I don't use passwords myself so I can't tell by experience, but I've got the idea that this is "repaired" in the latest WM6.1 ROMs. Anyone to confirm this?

this is not new my friend its very old if u want the touch look u shuld go for this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=573152 n if u have never upgraded a rom before u wuld have to hard spl ur device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405384 n then just flash the rom.....
