I would not recommend this... it is a bad idea to restore a backup from a different rom.. Since the rom files arent the same, your backup may be needing some files that the other rom might not have that the old rom had.

Sprite has an "upgrade backup" feature which allows you to backup/restore cross-devices and cross-ROMs. But I have no idea if it works or not, as I've never had to use it.
