Yep, downloaded it this morning, had to flash right away :p Great ROM, much faster than helmi_c which I tried before.

WLAN works with the known trick, but would often not connect the first time, have to switch it off and on again to make it connect. (Maybe it's because it is hidden network or WPA-PSK?)

And how can I make the WLAN stay on even after the device goes to standby mode? It is annoying if you make a VoIP call and the phone goes to standby and thus disables the WLAN.

I installed opera mini in the Intent Midlet manager that's coming from the cabs.rar file associated with this build. Whenever I go to connect to access a page, I always have to

1. Allow the midlet to run

2. Allow "incurring...charges".

Is there some way to bypass these two prompts and just have it pass through directly ?? I can't find any settings within the midlet manager that allows me to control that.

You are of course absolutely right: these ROMs are amazing and we are lucky that we have someone who has put them together. If there is something in an OS which I want, it is up to me to cook one for myself. (if I had the time and the vaguest idea what I was doing!)

Xplode has already said that there is a bug in his ROM as there is in Helmi with WiFi access. It is just a pity that with all the expertise on these boards, no one has been able to figure out where it is. What is a bit curious is that when some bug appears in a (for example) Wizard ROM, there are always about ten people out there who can do this. I wonder why there is no one who uses a BA who can do this? This BA seems to be a bit of an orphaned device. It would be interesting to know why. Was development stopped by HTC with bugs in place in the hardware when they went over to a model with a smaller screen? I get the impression that if I could sort it out, I might well prefer it to my Wizard? The relatively tiny increase in screen size seems to lead to a vast improvement in usability over the later models?

I am sure you are right about the Xplode ROM being so great: I havent been able to try it out as yet because of what must be a pretty obvious problem I have with communication with the device during the upgrade process.

I don't know if you try any of the WM5 Rom's on BA; all have 2 major issues:
1. WiFi not turning on on the first try (or have to use the trick)
2. BT randomly waking up the device
It's no or less point in asking someone else in fixing those; those are known bugs, we live with, if you can do something in fixing them ask for help in your line, like BigMike for BT issue.

i think xplode (or helmi..can't really remember who) remove the MMS to save space on ROM...

you can install additional MMS account after u upgrade to add MMS functionalityto your BA

The rom cookers are great. But we have to do our part. For example, in the wizard forum the users drum up great excitement for the Rom and toys we get provided with and we try getting involved as much as possible. In the BA forum we lack some of this, we seem to be an older audience maybe :-)

If we drum up thunder then things will get exiting again. Not that these roms are not great by the way. Ive owned many HTC devices and sold them all to go to the BA only because of the screen and slide keyboard, and it looks MEAN. and it is by far the freaking fastest device if you know how to tweak it. Im at 600mhz with a crazy bus and memory speed, you have never seen the HTC cube spin so fast

We have a classic automobile, we should start adding chrome to it and play with customizations and you will see what happens.

WOW I cant write I didnt get my point across at all!!! LOL

this xplode rom is really good. i have just 2 problem (not so big at all)
1° ie dont show me pics even if i have turned to show them on (dunno why...)
2° opera resize pics, but if i want to see them in full size how can i do?

maybe i'm wrong posting here, but perhaps ie problem is just concernet to the xplode rom bug :)

really good this wm6 roms... stable and fast :)

PS: Wi-fi works really great, just have to turn it on once from wlan manager and then from comm manager :)

Just put your BA in bootloader mode, put it in a cradle, then run downloaded RUU_BA file. That's all.

hi, ok when i did it the first time rite... it auto ran and did follow but when i started right it was stuck in the place where we see the 4 coloured strips.

so i had to undo it..with help from wiki.

so i guess i have to start file manually right?

hi i have a small prob and need some help from the brothers in here... i want to change my helmi wm6 to xplode's wm6... i downloaded the files already but i do not know how to go about doing it as there is no readme file for me to follow..
basically "EnterBL" "GetDeviceData" "MaUpgradeUt_noID"... which one shld go first? i hope get info so that i can do maybe a good "readme" file for noobies like me...just trying to contribute abit to this great community :D :D :D

the rest are used by MaUpgradeUt_noID.

cant i upgrade the Radio by putting the phone in to bootloader and running the exe?

when i place it in to bootloader and run the program, i get error 120: Country ID Error.

the same happens if i have it in active sync

Use MAUpgradeUT_NOID.exe for upgrading radio
BT stack is not in separate rom it is included in CE image and not needs upgrading

I was suddenly hit by a new (old) problem. My battery went down to 30% and poof, power reset :-( I know that this was a problem in some of the older WM5 ROMs but I never experienced it before. Has anybody else had this happen in Xplode's 6.00 ROM?

I have had this problem, but after changing from HTC home plugin to SPB 4 and uninstalling of Soti Card Export I'v got my battery to be normal again.

guys i finally got it running and u guys will nvr believe how i did it...

i first ran on helmi's rom and wanted to try xplodes rom as its more updated

and i have been posting abt problems i had when i wanted to upgrade it.

in the end i finally decided to try minhanh_tran's version... and did get thru so i

was wondering if while using this rom by any chance i could get xplode's rom to

run on my pda ...and voila.... it worked!!.. so ppl who can't be able to run this rom and am currently on helmi's rom... u can try wad i did... btw minhanh_tran's version's cool too!

i can only find one which i recognise, would really appriciate someone telling me as i'm dying to upgrade the radio and i keep getting error 120: wrong country!when i start the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe it says "this application has failed to start because the RUU.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

what do i do?

Hi, I've been using my pda2k w/ wm6 for 4 days now and I'm quite happy with the performance except for the following issues:

1. Activesync synchronizing does not complete and or stop
2. PDA does not wake up when sms has been received
3. can't use BT GSP and BT Headset at the same time
4. PDA wakes up every now and then when there is an active BT connection
5. can't activate Wifi in comm manager
6. low ringtone volume compared to the old ROM
7. I can't see how to categorize the contact

This is a very nice ROM and maybe the best. If we could just fix these problems.

New? 6.1? Sounds nice. I know the rom i have now by Xplode is so great in speed!

I have been putting off upgrading to Xplodes newest Rom because I don't like wasting to much time reinstalling everything. I am still with the fixed! one.

What are the chances of us seeing a new rom within the next two weeks? Other wise I will go for the latest one.

When I create email accounts e.g. Gmail, why dont I find them in Registry.

I had a low battery situation and I am not sure if my backup battery is healthy, before battery died totally, I connected to external power, device got booted and I found that mail settings got disappeared, I didnt checkup other settings like WiFi, GPRS, MMS.

I had taken a backup of entire system using SKTools and restored every thing once for again. Gmail account appeared back. As a curosity, I looked into the registries, and I didnt find any reference to Gmail account.

I believe Regitry settings of xplode's ROM are incomplete.

All Keys at HKCU\System\State\Messages\..... are empty.

If I don't use my BA for more than 30 min it is going to sleep mode. It is not updating time on today screen, not downloading mails (I have my mail accounts are set to download mails every 15 min). I am using Xplode's latest wm6 ROM. Does anyone is seeing this problem?.

actually it's based on OUR experience, we once were newbies too.

gain experience first from reading the wiki's.
then if you think you already know as much as flashing then do it.

not including a readme file is a discreet protection of the advanced users.
we can only blame ourselves from a trashed up flashing.

Dear Xplode! I have find one minor bug (at list for me) is that the ROM is hangs on color lines screen after I have changed default input method from “keyboard” to Qkeys 7.0.1.15 by SKTools. Another thing for me is that Helmi ROM has better File explorer

You may want to see larger text for your inbox, sent, drafts, and composing messages. Here's how to do it in Xplode's ROM.

FOR INBOX AND SENT MESSAGES:

even if the file read_style.css is hardcoded in Xplode's ROM under the /windows folder, resco file explorer is able to let you rename it to a file with a .txt extension, remove the read-only/hidden/system properties, edit the file to change the font sizes, and rename it back to read_style.css to overwrite the existing one. you should perform a soft reset after a while.

FOR DRAFTS AND COMPOSING MESSAGES:

use a registry editor to go to

HKLM\sotware\microsoft\inbox\richeditHostFontSize

and change from current font size to what ever you like. give it some time to process, then soft reset after.

I have a o2 xda IIs, i have installed WM6 Pro CE OS 5.2.1933 (Build 18533.0.7.0) Updated [30.11.2007]
i face the problem of phone not ready try in 15 secs(even when signals are present or not), furthermore i realize when the battery is near 30% da phone becomes buggy in the sense dat messages stop getting sent and stay in the outbox. After soft resets da trouble is the network stops getting detected only after 5 minutes i see network signals and dat too after several soft resets,as soon as i hookup the phone with power the sms problem is immediately solved! its so wierd that the major problems start at 30% battery pls help!!!
It may be helpful to note i have not installed any third party software and the phone has been hard reset only a few days ago!
Does the parite virus affect the phone? i installed parite infected .exe software through AS 4.5 and as a precaution hard resetted the phone following that!!
furthermore tapping answer doesnt work and the call automatically gets disconnected!!!

Hi xplode! Great job, but I still have a problem...

My BA still lost the gsm signal sometimes. Sometime find fast, sometime don´t find a signal...

Is this possible in issue a relationship with memory ou "installed software"...?
If I don´t install nothing, my BA find a signal faster (but, still lost sometimes)... If I install many softwares, this issue is worst...

Some suspects for me...
- pagepool ?
- Selection band (Auto = not working sometimes) ?
- Version of phonesettings.dll or rillog.dll or "something" ?
- Number of installed softwares (amount memory usage?) ??

My radio rom version is 1.15.

Please... Have any sugestions for my problems ?
(PS: Comm Manager have any issue too, if I try on or off gsm...)

BandSwitch v 2.42 (by Daniel herrero) NEVER WORK for me.

But.... I'm testing now another comm manager (another version)... Now, it's working fine, but I'll see until tomorrow if resolve this issue...

Rodrigo,

I've downgraded to WM2003 and installed bandsel .CAB and chose band 900 / 1800.

This solved the problem on WM2003.

Then i upgraded to WM6 by using Xplode's ROM (just to see what happens)and the problem is gone ! It remains OK, without loosing signal.

It seems that this particular band selection in only available in WM2003, so after you correctly selected it on WM2003, when upgrading to WM6 it will remain OK but it cannot be changed.

Is it clear ?

Hi Xplode, love your work, as I did Helmi's I am so glad you guys have been so successful with getting WM6 to work so well on the BA.

I just started a new thread to see if I can receive some ideas as to how to improve WiFi speed.

It takes me almost half an hour to copy 400Mb from my PC to my BA (tried it this morning). I have a small issue with my WiFi Signal strength meter, it worked when I first installed your OS but has since stopped, which makes it difficult to know if the speed is related to signal strength.

If anyone has feedback please reply to the other thread, keep this one just for Xplodes praise and feedback and updates.

They are made to look like the default SIP keyboard that are delivered with the devices. Functionally, however, they behave like the keyboards on desktop, i.e. Alt Gr key is there and dead keys function as expected. 4 versions: Russian, German, Hungarian and Swedish.

I have problem with contacts, when I save my contacts from SIM to phone I do not see double contacts with same name but different number. I see only one contact with one number.

example:

on the SIM :

John 0981695388
John 123456

after saving contacts to phone:

John 0981695388
P.S.

I have made reg hack to hide SIM contacts in phone contacts

Is there any way to improt two contacts with same name into one cotact on the BA with two numbers in different field (eg. Home, Mobile)

The ROM is perfect :D
one thing is that all settings and tweaks remain after flashing this ROM. even contacts are untouched so a hard reset or clearing storage I think will do the trick.
the problem I am facing right now is that mail button is not working on my BA so I can't perform hard reset and the worst is I cant find the clear storage option.

- Lost Signal Issue resolved - Ok.
- Upgrade for radio rom 1.15 - Ok.

Sometimes, the my settings about "lock all buttons" is lost.
This issue, in my opinion is a relation with reset wifi passwords, datetime resets to year 2004, reset my ISP configuration, my mail password...

For a perfect rom 100%, will be necessary too a correct (or better) "comm manager" software, I guess... To turn on and connect a wifi network, we have a little issue yet. This is a fact.

Any idea about this ?

Regarding mail button problem to format storage, i don't know how to do it. You could try cleaning the contacts as explained in some threads, do a search on this.

Regarding configurations lost and time going back to 2004, this is a know issue if it happens after removing battery.

All you have to do to avoid this is pressing reset "soft reset" once and then a second time befor R x.xx.xx G xxxx.xx etc. appears.

You have to do this everytime (if) you remove the battery.

It should solve your problem.

i've been using xplode's rom for quite a while, and it's only as of yesterday that i have not been able to sync via WMDC. the BA just gives up trying to connect, while the laptop doesn't recognize anything.

does anyone know the reason? thanks!

edit: got it to sync now... changed the port.

For me, after removing battery or performing a soft reset (reset + power).
Happens in these 2 cases.

I've searched for awhile now and I am unclear on flashing. I was looking for a guide but the ones I have found are all fairly old. I used to have a sx-56 and I flashed that many times back in the day and I didn't need to do anything special with it. I've read that I need to put it in bootloader mode. Is that still the case? Can someone point me in the right direction for a guide? Also does this upgrade the radio stack? I have the original rom from AT&T on the sx-66 so it's like 1.02 or something. Thanks!

Check the wiki for the instructions on flashing the WM6 ROM and radio stack, there is an up-to-date guide there.

This is a ROM replacement, not an app. The ROM will be replaced by this.

The radio is a separate flash, has nothing to do with this.

Read the wiki, there is an up-to-date guide there with full instructions.

I upgraded to WM6 and Radio 1.15 thanks to your help! I have a new issue. My SX-66 no longer sends or recieves text messages and the Wi-Fi doesn't start when you click the Wi-Fi button in the connection manager. Any Ideas?

with the wifi issue, its a known issue...after you click "Turn on WLAN", go to comm manager, and click wifi button... it should work...

as with messages, got no clue... sorry...maybe others have other ideas...

the grouped start menu items are for the cabs i made which create proper shortcuts into the grouped folders
the language pack should work, there are no drastic changes into versions

the GSFinder is the file explorer from helmis rom

I can not build new roms because the cable for the LCD has a crack and 9 of the wires are cutted by this crack, so right now i can't test properly any builded rom, my lcd is flickering and loosing colours and the digitizer does not work at all ...

the bad thing is that i can not purchase (or have the money to do it) new (used) lcd in my country...

so until my BA is fixed i can not build and test any new roms

i have a few problems.
when i want to play music with the media player from sd card,
nothing happend. it just switch the played time from 0.01 to 0.02 and than back to 0.01.
when i connect my bluetooth stereo headset, i only can hear sound from the media player (music steam from ram).
the bluetooth headset doesn´ work well al the time.
wifi doesn´t work anymore. it works just after the first start up. (maybe this is my fault)

exclude this few problems its a great rom.

but , i am facing serious trouble as soon as i flash to my device 2s

starting okay.

but as the home screen appear, the windows give me this error,

"the file 'Init_Tray' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its component cannot be found. If te problem persist, try reinstalling or restoring this file"

then, i just press ok, then , it gives me anoter error, like this,

"the file 'sms_alert_fix.exe' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its component cannot be found. If te problem persist, try reinstalling or restoring this file"

then the same thing appeared for those applications i listed below,

but it not happening when it comes to screen rotate. It just ask me to stop the running application or not.. so, please,anyone..

when i install the german language patch and reboot,
my BA sucks on the windows start screen and i have to hard reset.

are thear some files i have to execlude ?
please help me !!!

refer here to hard reset. Might be the registry got messed up. So, clean up evrything.. with the clean boot.

i had hard perform a hard reset before replacing the files.
than i resett, and my BA sucks at the windows start screen.
i test it 5 times and it didn´t work.

Upgraded to this rom and so far its great but i have one problem, there is no onscreen keyboard.
i push where it would be and the bottom bar goes lighter and if i tap just to the right i can get the menu up to change from keyord to block and so forth but nothing shows up on screen if i tap where leters would they do get printed on screen but it anoying not to be able to have it on screen.
Plz help

Just give it a try. Reflash again, is one option.

xplode rom have the stock keyboard.

another option is, you install another keyboard. You can get the keyboard installer in *.cab format. just search around.:D

Actually, there already version 6.1, made by somebody. but it,s not so stable. It takes too long to boot up and langging. So, i prefer to use explode version, since faster and can connect to activessync. I am anxious to wait for better, wm6.1, with more *.cabs files, addition to the coming upgrade and filling all the missing application in the wm6.1 by explode. cheers!!:D:p:p

Im using the PDAviet ROM WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19199.1.0.0 PV DVH) until xplode releases his 6.1

These ROMS are VERY fast and reliable and are probably the best ROMs yet.

All other WM6.1 is soo good and fast. Now I am using WM6.1 by PV.HAT. THis version got the HTC flotouch, HTC Album,HTC Home, Power Point,One Note, and a few others. :p

I even use the overclocking software, "xcpuscalar" to make it even faster.
and, in addition to that, i even change the pagepool to 12 Mb, which make it even faster than ever. :eek:

I install the CMcontact, which soooo awesome. It has apple movement look alike. HTC album is as cool.:D

Hi guys, i still have no usable device, and that is the main reason to not release anything... PDAVIET guys have beat me to porting 19199 build, but there are new builds coming maybe i will release my version of that build or a new one we will see, so far i can not do much

I think that you need to install the additional regional settings from Helmi's ROM.

I have tried HTC_Blueangel_WM6_SUPP_NLS_(missing_regional_setti ngs).cab amd supp_nls.cab. But still don't have the chinese regional settings.
The regional list seem no vhange after install the cabs.
What I should do?

Hello,
I installed ROM RUU_BA_Xplode_WWE_6.00.00 (I tried it with other ROM) and I am not active SIM card operator ORANGE SPAIN. When you enter your PIN says: SIM Status unknown.
I have also tried another card with another operator (VODAFONE) and does the same.
Sometimes, to cancel the activation of the PIN, it is searching for the network indefinitely.
If I go into the CommManager, the phone is active, but to select it turn off and were no longer active on the phone anymore.
[B]Someone you help? This is a problem of the radio version, of the ROM (has to be in Spanish to work with a Spanish operator)...

Forgive my ignorance, but I just installed the ROM from your previous link but don't see any HTC TouchFlo or PowerPoint or OneNote. I installed the Viet release. Is it a separate package somewhere?

Hello,

I tryed to update my XDA3 with the ROM from the 1st Page. After only a few seconds I got the message that the update was successfully performed. I removed the XDA from the cradle and made a softreset. But it didn't start WindowsMobile. There was/is just the USB V2.07 screen. Installing the ROM again leads always to the same result. I can't even install the original WM2003-ROM from O2. This always leads to the message "101 Connenction Error" or "100 Model ID Error" (but not only since the installation of the WM6 ROM - it was the same before).
Unfortunatelly I was that stupid to make no image of the original ROM.

Any Ideas how I can reanimate my XDA?

Hello,

I tryed to update my XDA3 with the ROM from the 1st Page. After only a few seconds I got the message that the update was successfully performed. I removed the XDA from the cradle and made a softreset. Perform a hard reset first before anything else when flashing a new ROM. If you don't, there is no telling what kind of weirdness may occur.

Do the hard reset before anything else, then see if it works.

When you did the flash, did you leave in your SIM and Sd card, if any? If so, remove them and try it again. It often does make a difference.

I performed the softreset AFTER the update procedure - before I performed a hardreset ;)

When you did the flash, did you leave in your SIM and Sd card, if any? If so, remove them and try it again. It often does make a difference.

There was only the SIM-Card in the Device.
I just removed the SIM and tryed it again. This time I received the "Error 150: ROM Upgrade Utility Error (This ROM Upgrade Utility does not design for your device)"

I just removed the SIM and tryed it again. This time I received the "Error 150: ROM Upgrade Utility Error (This ROM Upgrade Utility does not design for your device)"Searching the forum makes it look like this is a semi-common problem.

Suggestions I have found:

Make sure activesync is not running (use task manager to kill the processes)
Make sure the phone is in boot loader mode before running the flash program.
Make sure the phone is attached to the computer directly (no hubs)
Try a different USB port on the computer
And by the phone ghods, don't try it under Vista, use XP! :-)

Other things to try:

Extract the files from the .exe, edit ruu.conf and run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe directly.

Apparently, there is also a way to flash the phone using mtty, bypassing the CID checks and such. Do a search for that one as a last resort.

Now, I just followed this guide (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM6_WizzardUpgrad e4), used the ROM of Helmi and performed the installation on an other pc (running XP instead of Vista) and this time the flash worked suscessfully :).That would do it, doing it from XP and not Vista.

Really, a lot of problems seem to be fixed when one moves back to XP from Vista. :)

But there is one more problem :p. Step 6 of the guide says that I have to perform a hardreset, then I get the colored stripes, an then I have to press "Record" & "Windows Media" before the versions appear at bottom right. I did it like this but I only get the colored stripes. The guide says that now I should get some options but they are not shown on my device! As I said, I only get the colored stripes, that's all :(Keep trying, that's all I can say on that one.

It may take a few attempts, provided your buttons are working, but this has to be done. Too many weird things can (and have!) happened on phones that were not hard reset after a flash was done.

I tryed it approx. 10 times now and it doesn't work. The text easily doesn't appear, only these f#?ßin stribes.

The wiki reads:

Press and hold the "Power" button, and then press the Reset Button. Colored stripes (the bootscreen) will appear on the screen.

If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc, EITHER:
-Quickly press "Record" & "Camera" before the versions appear at bottom right
-OR press "Power" & "Camera" & "Record" buttons and Reset at the same time

If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66:
-Quickly press "Record" & "Windows Media" before the versions appear at bottom right EITHER
-OR press "Power" & "Windows Media" & "Record" buttons and Reset at the same time

I just tried it with my XdaIIs, and got to the reset options by this method:

Press the reset button with the stylus

As soon as the four colour boot screen appeared, I pressed the record and camera buttons at the same time and held them. In less than a second I got the 'Enable KITL', 'Clean Registry Hive' and 'Format Storage'.

Also, when these lines showed up, the lines for the radio version and such did show up before the hard reset options, but I had pressed and held the buttons before they appeared.

But I only get the stripes and the version at bottom right while I'm holding the record and windows-media buttons (btw I have the XDA without a cam). It really seems that one of the two buttons doesn't work. As far as I know both buttons worked previously, but I have no other explanation why I don't get to the Boot Options Menu.

Is there maybe a ROM with which I don't need to use these two buttons or do you have an idea how I can test if the buttons still work/not work?

When I found anyone who can give me an Image of his ROM, can I install this without needing to use the buttons?
